Send us a textDaniel Ash, along with Peter Murphy and brothers Kevin and David Haskins, formed Bauhaus, a band who were pioneers of goth rock. Their debut single, “Bela Lugosi's Dead” is considered by many to be the first record of the gothic-rock genre.   They released five studio albums, and during that period, Daniel and Kevin formed the post-punk band Tones on Tail in the early 1980s. In 1985, David Haskins, now as David J, rejoined his  Bauhaus bandmates, minus Peter Murphy, and they became Love and Rockets. Where Bauhaus was known for its gothic sound, Love and Rockets' had a brighter, more pop feel. They enjoyed a succesful run in the '80s and '90s, touring internation-ally and were featured prominently in the glory days of MTV. And now, Daniel Ash, along with drummer Bruce Smith of Public Image Ltd. and bassist Paul Spencer Denman who backed Sade, is back. The band is Ashes and Diamonds. Judge Bruce Smith, the first judge to appear on Meikles & Dimes, served as a judge advocate in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After that, he served for more than a decade as an administrative law judge with the United States Department of homeland security. Following his time on the bench, he founded the successful business venture, BartlettJames, LLC, serving as CEO. In this episode we discuss the following: Bruce shared an interesting story about a hospital that was responsible for a child's death. Rather than lawyer up, the hospital admitted their mistake and took full responsibility. Sadly, in Bruce's experience as a judge for decades, this sort of accountability is far less common than it should be. Saying we screwed up is not a sign of weakness, but rather it's a sign of strength and character. And speaking of character and ethics, we should follow the law, we should make sure our behavior benefits people and the planet, and we should never do anything that we'd be embarrassed to tell our mothers about.

All season, we've been diving into the film on the “Ty & Bob Pod.” All season, the Packers, Lions and Vikings have exchanged body blows. Now, the tournament is closing in and you better know what you're looking at in the mirror. Dan Campbell refused to heed Troy Aikman's advice and played to win in Santa Clara. Detroit's offense is humming along. The defense? That's another story. Can Dan Campbell piece together a Super Bowl run? That No. 1 seed would certainly help. At U.S. Bank Stadium, Kevin O'Connell's team punked Matt LaFleur's Packers.The final score (27-25) was not indicative of the punishment. Big-game talk may be “bothersome” to LaFleur but it's undeniably concerning that he hasn't beaten the top teams. Green Bay wants to be a more physical outfit on offense, but it might be smart for LaFleur to unleash his $220 million dollar quarterback. This is a coach who tends to lose his cool on the sideline, too. We discuss how each of these teams are an extension of their coach.
