Picklebay Founder Siddhant Jatia walks Founder Thesis host Akshay Datt through the full pickleball business in India model - from rooftop conversions and court construction costs to tournament prize pools and the platform layer that no one has built yet. Siddhant Jatia grew up inside a 120-year-old Kolkata business family and started working at 16, but it took a single session of pickleball to set him on the path to building Picklebay, India's first end-to-end pickleball platform, which now lists 700 verified courts across six cities and has developed proprietary venue management and tournament software to solve what he calls a critical information asymmetry harming venue investors. In this conversation, Siddhant unpacks three counterintuitive ideas: that the explosive growth of the pickleball business in India is fundamentally a yield-per-square-foot real estate story, that in this sport the spectators are almost entirely the same people as the players - upending conventional sponsorship logic entirely - and that the largest gap in Indian sports tech is a channel management layer that aggregates all the booking aggregators, the same way hotel software syncs rates across MakeMyTrip and Booking.com. With the Indian Pickleball Association now officially recognised as a National Sports Federation and India actively bidding for the 2036 Olympics, this conversation sits at a genuine inflection point for the sport and the businesses being built around it.
This Week in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Podcast
In this episode, Sid Pardeshi, co-founder and CTO of Blitzy, joins us to discuss building autonomous development systems able to deliver production-ready software at enterprise scale. Sid contrasts AI-assisted coding with end-to-end autonomy, arguing that “code is a commodity” and acceptance is the real metric—security, standards, tests, and maintainability included. We explore Blitzy's hybrid graph-plus-vector approach, which grounds agents and combines semantic signals with keyword search to navigate large repositories efficiently. Sid breaks down context and agent engineering, how effective context windows have plateaued, and why dynamic agent personas, tool selection, and model-specific prompting matter at scale. He details their orchestration of large swarms of AI agents to collaboratively analyze codebases, plan tasks, and execute complex tasks in parallel. We also dig into why Agents.md and flat memories break down, storing feedback in the knowledge graph, and building real-world evals beyond leaderboards to choose the right model for each task. Premiumisation is one of those words you hear everywhere now — in management interviews, on earnings calls, and investor presentations. But behind the jargon lies something far more human: the quiet evolution of Indian aspiration. In this conversation with Ishmohit and Siddhant from SOIC , we unpack what's really happening beneath the surface. From hatchbacks turning into SUVs, and plain curd becoming Greek yogurt, to families trading budget hotels for four-star stays — the pattern isn't just about spending more. It's about a mindset shift: from necessity to comfort, from function to feeling. We explore how confidence is driving this change. When people feel wealthier, not just in income but in outlook, they begin to demand better design, better experiences, better quality. It's the wealth effect meeting a cultural moment. But there's also a twist. Alongside this wave of premiumisation, a quiet countertrend is taking shape — what you might call smart value. Brands like Zudio or products like lab-grown diamonds are challenging old hierarchies of price and prestige. Both trends come from the same place — aspiration, expressed differently. One climbs the ladder; the other redraws it. And for investors and business builders, that duality might just be the most interesting part of India's consumption story. We hope you enjoy this conversation :) If you prefer to read, check it out here: https://open.substack.com/pub/thedailybriefing/p/the-rise-of-premiumisation-ft-soic You can also watch this in the video format here: https://youtu.be/omi9_zfF1sA

Sam, Harsha and Siddhant are tech workers of Indian descent, who all say they have experienced discrimination in corporate America. They are not being singled out on the basis of race, gender, religion or nationality, but by an invisible factor; one they were born into, and one that others like them come to the US to try to escape. They say they have faced discrimination because of their caste.

Hey Decoding TV folks! David Chen here with an exciting announcement. For the past year, Decoding TV has been doing weekly deep dives into different TV shows and streaming shows with some of the best writers and commentators on the internet. But while the weekly recap model works really well for a bunch of shows like The Last of Us, Westworld, and Succession, it takes a lot of time and commitment to cover a show that way and if we confined ourselves only to this model, there would just be a bunch of shows that Decoding TV wouldn't cover. That's why I'm so pleased to announce a new show, which I'm calling This Week In Streaming, which will cover the latest and greatest in what's available on streaming platforms. The idea is that every week, in addition to any weekly recaps going on at Decoding TV, we will cover one of the most interesting, thought-provoking, and/or critically acclaimed shows on TV. We won't recap every single episode of these TV shows. Instead:We will make a podcast discussing the first episode or two of the TV showLater, we will record another podcast discussing the last episode of the TV show and reflect on the season as a wholeOver the course of the next few weeks, we will cover Beef on Netflix, Barry on HBO, Dead Ringers on Amazon Prime. As just mentioned, we'll cover the first eps of these shows (with no spoilers for the rest of the show), and then have a season-ending discussion in a separate episode. This Week In Streaming will appear on the Decoding TV podcast feed so if you're listening to us on a podcast app, you don't need to do anything else to get future episodes.I am enormously grateful to Siddhant Adlakha for joining me for this initial batch of episodes to kick this off. Siddhant will be joining me to cover Beef, Barry, and Dead Ringers. Siddhant will always be part of the Decoding TV family but as time goes on, we may rotate different and exciting voices in and out of the co-host chair. Will This Week In Streaming cover more shows after this? That's up to you. Please let us know what you think! Decodingtv@gmail.com.One last thing: We're going to try broadcasting This Week In Streaming live as often as possible. So please do follow us on YouTube and on Twitch and you'll get notifications whenever we go live. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
