After having a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign in 2012 for their Wi-Fi smart lock, Lockitron struggled to get the product to work well with Wi-Fi. They eventually got products out to 10 thousand backers, but decided late last year to go back to the drawing board and create an entirely new smart lock in the Bolt.
