In this episode, we delve deep into the story of Prophet Yunus, or Jonah (AS), a story really of distress and Du'a. We know in life there are hard moments and enjoyable moments and it's those hard moments that are most painful. There are no better examples, than the Prophets that Allah has sent us - that have shown us how to come out of difficult situations. Their stories provide healing. Sa'd reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The supplication of Jonah, Dhul Nun, when he called upon Allah inside the belly of the whale was this, "There is no God but You, glory be to You for I have certainly been among the wrongdoers,' (21:87). Verily, a Muslim never supplicates for anything with it but that Allah will answer him." Source: Sunan al-tirmidhi 3305 Nasheed by: @halalsounds2020

In this episode, I talk about - The first of the Greater Sins: Shirk. Associating anything or anyone with Allah is a major sin and there is no salvation for anyone who follows polytheism. Allah says in the Qur'an: “Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases, and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin.” (Surah an-Nisā' 4:48)And for those who are polytheists, Jannah is forbidden: “Surely whoever associates (others) with Allah, then Allah has forbidden to him the garden, and his abode is the fire; and there shall be no helpers for the unjust.” (Surah al-Mā'ida 5:72)So what must we refrain from that we do in the daily lives that could lead us to commit shirk? Are we even aware of some of the 'indirect' or 'unknown' shirk that we see today that individuals are doing and calling it normal or OK to do? Make sure you listen to this podcast from start to finish - I've added some great points for you to be aware of and also we must affirm our faith daily as mentioned in this Hadith: Repeat Daily: YAA MUQALLIBAL QULOOB THABBIT QALBEE 'ALAA DEENIK Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would often say, “O Turner of the hearts, affirm my heart upon Your religion!” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, we believe in you and in that with which you were sent. Do you fear for us?” The Prophet said, “Yes, for the hearts are between the fingers of Allah. He turns them whichever way He wills.”Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2140I hope you may take benefit from this podcast just as I did - we all need reminders.
