It is becoming increasingly obvious to both Christians and non-Christians alike that our culture has gone past the tipping point of turning our backs away from God. We are rushing headlong into the acceptance of lifestyles and values that are in direct opposition to how God has created humans to flourish. We see the consequences of this everywhere. In the generations of children who are growing into confused and apathetic young adults, in the collapse of the family structure, in the increasing rage and conflict towards one another over seemingly trivial things. God does not want His people to be caught up in the maelstrom of culture wars and shifting trends. He has given us a solid foundation in which to base our values on, one that has never changed and never will. This week, Pastor Mark walks us through 1 Peter 4:12-19 and he highlights what Christians can expect as we dig our heels in and resist the temptation to follow the crowd.
Whereas test #1 exposes any remaining idolatry in our hearts; test #2 searches our hearts to ferret out any moral infidelity so that we can confess that to the Lord and be set free. There are four big tests that most of us will encounter on our discipleship journey. Each will reveal some aspect of the condition of our hearts and our devotion to God. The post Wipe Out! How to survive life's four big tests – Part 1, Idolatry appeared first on Third Peter.

“Without ideals we are aimless, but never let ideals eclipse the reality of our situation” ~ Mike and Alicia Hernon Living life with infants and toddlers is no joke. And the more you have the crazier your life is! We all know life is more than survival, but there were plenty of times that all Alicia could think when she woke up was “I just have to make it till nap time”. In this MFP classic episode which first aired in 2015, we talk about living life with kids under 5 without losing your mind. We give some practical tips for managing your children, ways to keep your marriage alive at this time, and how to act as a team in these crucial years. Even though the “Survival Zone” is in our distant memory, we now have grandchildren who remind us regularly how much energy kids take! Listen in for these essential tips in getting through these difficult times with grace and joy.
Unexpected. Mesmerising. Powerful. Profound. My interview with the survivor of not one, not two but three near death experiences (NDEs) Robert Kopecky has quickly turned into a deep philosophical discussion about life and death, the purpose of living, the purpose of dying and the purpose of NDE. Each of his three NEDs was very different, and together they gave Robert a gift of profound spiritual awakening and a glimpse into this mysterious “spiritual technology” (as he calls it) that we are an integral part of as we move from one dimensional experience to another and never really die. Robert shares with us his profound, spiritual and life changing lessons of Perspective, Presence and Purpose; explains why NDE inevitably serves as a karmic reset as once the gene is out you can never put it back into the bottle; and talks about the six Rungs of the Ladder to Heaven we can climb right here and now on Earth to get to Heaven long before dying. His take on the well known concept of what Life is really about is unique and surprising, from an angle I'm sure you haven't thought about (neither did I). Following his NDEs, Robert has written two amazing books: “How to Survive Life and Death” and “How to Get to Heaven Without Really Dying” which I put in the category of “Must Read”. What I am going to talk about is the top 7 baby gear items I feel are must haves in order to make those first few months go more smoothly. You'll have a lot of adjusting to do with your newborn. A lot to figure out. I'd like you to be able to really focus on your baby and be able to pick up on their little cues so you can get the hang of being a mama more easily. One way of doing that is, in my opinion, having some handy baby gear items. And after having 5 kids, I've been through everything from wipes warmer to pee pee tee pees. Seriously. Who comes up with this stuff? To hear more about me, what I do, and how I can help you, head on over to my website YourHappyMotherhood.com.
