Welcome, everyone to a gathering of old friends, of colleagues, and of podcast heroes! We are going to bring an end to this year with some discussion on what the state of all the DC superhero shows is, where they may be going, and what we thought of their most recent seasons. So sitting at the Justice League Round Table, we have the Green Butterfly and the Silver Vox from the Maid of Steel, xforce11 from Gotham Undercover, and your hosts the Flash and Harley Quinn. Holy Finales, Legendaires! This one was certainly jampacked with the usual finale items: wrapping up the season's story, sending off characters, and setting up the next season. I must say while the Encores fell flat this season, the Fates were a worthy foe and I enjoyed the ending of the story. The writer's room was as clever as ever and the actors were brilliant. It's what our show does best. Goofy, heart-warming, and a side of superhero action. This was one of the more consistent seasons we've had while embracing the goofy, crazy nature of the Legends that we have come to know and love. Until next season, Legendaires, when the rest of the team finally realizes Sara has been abducted by aliens. Well, maybe not, we'll be back in the offseason with some rewatch fun since the earliest we could be coming back is 2021. Stay tuned to the feed. Hey Legendaires! We have a special treat for you! Just when you thought we'd be gone for the holidays, we come back to your timeline with a very special guest, and our first interview! Welcome to the show Victoria Souter, who got to play with our Legends during the S4 Ep.11 Seance and Sensibility! She played the character of Cassandra Austen, the sister to novelist Jane Austen. If you remember, this was a wild episode, at first we were following Mona and her being upset that Jane decided to stop writing, but then it takes a huge turn and becomes a Bollywood song and dance number with Zari leading the ensemble! Victoria shares with us her experience being on a big budget set like Legends, what it was like working with Caity Lotz, and tells us some entertaining stories from her career as an actress. If you would like to follow her and see what she does next, you can check out her Instagram at VictoriaJSouter, and also look her up on IMDB. We wish her well and all the success she deserves!

In a surprising turn of events, Legends of Tomorrow completely rewrites history, eliminating a beloved character. After Nate brings Heyworld to life using Brigid’s diary, the Legends educate the public on magical creatures and neutralize the fear metahumans and magical creatures have created. Discussion Synopsis Saving Ray Palmer So, we’ve figured out Neron’s endgame, he needs massive amounts of fear to open the gates of hell and reign hell on Earth. Of course Ray Palmer would find a way to win over his torturer, none other than Vandal Savage. The soul tokens--cool idea--they get deposited in a holding vault while you pay whatever price is owed. I loved John and Nora together in the opening moments, they have a great chemistry with the personalities of their characters. Heyworld The return of Brigid’s diary - I love that Mick stole it back! Does this mean the return of Garima when Nate is done with Heyworld? Once again, loved them making fun of themselves with the “trinity” and needing franchise superheroes to make people feel safe. So basically they pulled off a Greatest Showman homage without ever using the music (which I assume would have been costly). When did Nate and Constantine switch? I 100% fell for it, thought they killed Constantine and was a bit confused, then I was REALLY sad when I realized they killed Nate instead! But luckily, in a corny, but acceptable, musical number, they gave Nate closure and brought him back from the dead. James Taylor song: this was way better than Beebo - Fight fear with love - very much like Frozen (Disney film) Fun fact: Dominic and Tala sang their parts of the song live on camera Monitor sighting! Zari’s Timeline Zari’s simulation program has finally found her loophole -- Neron’s rise/escape from hell has forced the Legends to find a way to show humankind how to tolerate metas and magical creatures, leading to an age of tolerance where her family is never persecuted or killed. Behrad takes Zari’s place on the Waverider - Zari’s family is never killed, so instead of her joining the Legends, her brother does. Next Season on Legends of Tomorrow Astra stole 16 coins but right now only 15 episodes are rumored: Stalin - Russian leader that imprisoned over a million of his own people and executed 700,000 of them roughly Caligula - Roman emperor related to Julias Caesar - cruel, sadistic and into sexual perversion Genghis Khan - Mongolian emperor - large scale war campaigns that slaughtered thousands of innocent people Mary Tudor - Mary 1 Queen of England and Ireland - known as Bloody Mary for the mass executions she had carried out to restore Roman Catholicism, also burning 280 religious dissenters at the stake Charles Manson - leader of the Manson family cult that committed 9 murders John Wayne Gacy - serial killer - 33 boys Rasputin - Russian mystical healer, prophet and advisor All the rest were face down except for one partially covered, Lizzie Borden perhaps? - accused of killing her parents with an axe
Neron unveils his plan to claim thousands of souls by having people accept the terms of service with an app. Since no one actually reads the fine print, if he incites enough panic and enough people download the app, he will tip the scales and claim the Throne of Hell. Synopsis Ne-Ray launches Palmer Tech’s latest app at PalmerX 2019, designed to report monster sightings and sign over the user’s soul to the demon Neron. He uses Mona to showcase that monsters are real so people will download his app. In the end, 2,000 downloads just isn’t enough, so he plots to unleash magical creatures on the Capitol and cause enough of a panic to spike downloads and claim souls. Just as Team Legends is planning to storm the Time Bureau and bring the assault to Neron, Gary wishes to be a part of the book club and just like that, Nora, Ava and Sara are sitting on a couch Ava (now Gary’s) office. With the girls held “hostage,” it’s up to the remaining Legends to forge ahead with Plan B. They decide to attend PalmerX and find out what Neron is up to. After Neron’s onstage demonstration with Mona, the audience panics and the Legends attempt to storm the stage. But just as Mick is about to fire, Gary strikes again, and Nate and Mick are whisked back to the Waverider to join Captain Green on the bridge with Ava and Sara. That leaves Charlie and Zari who end up hiding out in Zari’s childhood home. Zari convinces Charlie to help her infiltrate the Time Bureau and rescue the magical creatures to foil Neron. Charlie is able to steal a time courier and shifts into the Fairy Godmother to get past Ray. Sensing something is off, Ray heads back to the command center. Meanwhile, the Fairy Godmother sent Nora to Mona’s cell after sending Ava and Sara to the Waverider with Gary. She’s building up to the moment when she convinces Nora to take her wand, and her curse, freeing her from doing the bidding of others. Freed, she reunites with Ne-Ray who realizes that Charlie must be up to something. Zari releases the magical creatures and Charlie sends them to the Waverider. She goes back for Mona and gets her to safety just and Tabitha and Neron catch her. Down in hell, Constantine is trying to avoid enemies and find Masha. Unfortunately, Calabraxis follows John to the club and jumps him after he is able to get some information on Neron. Constantine leverages the ownership of his soul (now Neron’s) to save his life and get a meeting with the Triumvirate, the current rulers of hell. After explaining Neron’s plan, he strikes a deal to save Ray and is reminded that Astra is also in hell. The Triumvirate tell him he can only choose one to save, and he chooses Astra. Unbeknownt to him, Astra has (apparently) turned to the darkside in order to survive and now Constantine is trapped in hell because Astra is refusing to leave. The Triumvirate retain his soul, for now.
Neron lures the Legends to the Donner Pass during the Ice Age and traps them in an avalanche that they caused. He travels through time with Constantine to visit Johnny’s ancestor and teach an old dog some new tricks. Meanwhile, Gary slowly hypnotizes all the agents at the Time Bureau with his nipple. He then travels to ancient Britain to visit King Konstentyn, an ancient ancestor of John Constantine, so that John can learn how to stabilize a vortex to hell. Ultimately, Neron is still working to bring Tabitha from hell to the mortal world. Stuck in an avalanche, the remainder of our Team Legends needs to remember what it means to be a family. With Ray missing, they search his quarters for inspiration after Mick and Sarah argue over whether or not Mick should have made the call to shoot Ray. They discover Cards to Save the Timeline and Ray Palmer’s survival guide. Determined to enjoy their last moments together and find some inspiration to save themselves, they turn the Waverider to full power and decide to play Ray’s game. Fortunately for the Legends, it works, and the ice around the ship melts from the continual heat they are generating, allowing them to fly through the rest of the ice. Meanwhile at the Time Bureau, Gary is conducting performance reviews and exuding an uncharacteristic amount of confidence. Slowly but surely, each of the Time Bureau agents turn into hypnotized automatons, stating Gary Green is all the man we need. Suspicious, Mona and Nora begin to investigate, until eventually, only Mona and Wolfie are left. As Mona is called in for her performance review, she conspires with Wolfie to take Gary down and bring everyone back to their senses. In the end, Neron succeeds in forcing Johnny to strengthen his magic to save not only himself, but an innocent pooka, about to be damned to hell. He stabilizes the vortex, disarms his ancestor, and then willingly jumps into the hell vortex to rescue Ray from hell. Unfortunately, Neron is able to bring Tabitha from hell, and with a bippity boppity boo, they rescue Gary and escape with Mona. Ava returns to the Waverider to chat with the Legends while Nora pursues Neron, Tabitha, and Gary so she can rescue Mona.

Seeing an opportunity, Sara assigns Nate and Zari to run point on the mission while everyone else is conveniently occupied. All on their own, their is less Legends screw ups, but they also think the mission is a Macguffin, which it was, but there was a magical fugitive present nonetheless. When they call Sara on crafting an Indiana Jones mission to set them up, she tells them it’s a real mission and takes Ava to their rescue. As it turns out, they can take care of themselves, but they still have to find the golden egg. Instead of QBing the mission, Ray has been busy doing lab in the science and avoiding making contact with people. While he works on a scientific cure to get rid of Neron, he only succeeds in making things worse. Constantine is off trying to find a cure for Nora, so Ray is stuck with an Intern of the Dark Arts: Gary Greene. Eventually, Gary deduces Ray is possessed and attempts to help him, but Neron uses Gary’s loneliness against him. Depressed, Gary is unsure what to do and just feels unappreciated. At this point, Nate returns to the ship, concerned about Ray. Ray pummels him as Nate is an unsuspecting victim who is apparently defenseless? Plot holes aside, Ray gives into Neron to save Nate’s life. Constantine has finally tracked down a Phoenix feather to help Nora rise anew. She tells Constantine that Neron has Ray and he returns to the Waverider to save him. Unfortunately for him, Gary is sick of being the doormat and decides it is time to join Neron, someone who will appreciate him and make him whole. Neron breaks free of Constantine, whose focus is now split, and knocks him out. Gary and Neron use the time stone to leave the Waverider with Constantine. With Nate unconscious on the Waverider, the girls are left in 1933 to finish the mission. As it turns out, it was the assistant all along, who like Gary, is sick of being treated like a second class citizen. When they return, they discover Nate has been pummeled by Ray and left behind. He explains that Ray is now possessed. Meanwhile, Mick and Charlie decide to make an appearance at RomantiCon as Rebecca Silver. Although things do not go exactly as planned, Rebecca does reveal her identity at the con to connect with fans.

Meanwhile, Constantine realizes Nora is on the Waverider and she tells him about Neron. Constantine is telling Nora her connection to Neron is a liability when Sarah walks in and explains Ava is missing. She returns to Ava’s apartment with Nora and Constantine, hoping for a lead. As it turns out, Nora can tune into Neron’s “frequency” and informs Sarah that Ava has been taken to the Sleepaway Inn. Although the name is on the nose, Ava is still alive, but barely. They bring Ava back to the Waverider and Sarah commands Constantine to send her to purgatory after Ava. As it turns out, Ava’s version of purgatory is essentially IKEA, a giant warehouse megastore with endless choices to make regarding mass produced home decor. Just as Ava is about to check out (literally), Sarah finds her and tells her what is happening. Together the two attempt to retrace her steps and return to the entrance, but the only “helpful” thing they find is Gary. He directs to the couple to a wardrobe. Puzzled, Sara deduces they have to put together the wardrobe in order to leave, much like Narnia, and immediately bulldozes ahead to put it together. Instead of working with Ava, she just does it all herself. Not surprisingly, the wardrobe falls apart and the couple has a real conversation, the first of many. They put the wardrobe together, enter it, and find they are in the mattress section of the store. So, time to pick a mattress, gotta watch out for those warranties though! As they continue to confront Ava’s anxieties, Sarah admits that she wants to spend the rest of her life with Ava, but is scared. They decide on the 50 year mattress and fall into an apartment full of mundane tasks. Unable to deal, Sarah snaps and Ava retreats into her corner, scared. Sarah finds herself in a warehouse full of Ava’s, any Ava she could possibly ever want, but she only wants her Ava. She is directed to a door marked “as is” and enters to find Ava crying. She explains she only wants Ava, they reconcile, and return to the land of the living. Meanwhile, Ray and Nate are trying to discover what Hank was really up to and track down Neron. They discover the site where Hank is building his theme park and decide to pay a visit. What Hank has started to put together is truly awesome and completely based on several drawings Nate drew as a child. Touched and confused, Nate orders to builder to tear down the whole thing. With everyone else occupied, Constantine enlists Charlie and Nora to help him catch Neron since he has not yet discovered Ava is missing. Using Charlie’s abilities, they are able to get the upper hand and lock Neron away in a magical containment unit. Constantine and Nora form a plan to lure Neron out into the open so he will expire on the mortal plane. Unfortunately, ray misinterprets the situation and rushes to save Nora from herself. (He should know by now she can take care of herself!) Neron gets the upper hand and Nora attempts to destroy him with an energy blast. Unfortunately, it is too late. Neron has taken up residence in Ray and Nora is in a coma.

Sara leaves the funeral with Ray and Zari to save history once again. Meanwhile, Mick and Constantine stay behind with Nate and discover that Hank’s spirit is still present in the house. On the Waverider, Ray proclaims that he is going to QB the mission from mission, acting just a little weirder than normal, so he can rendevouz with Nora while the team is gone. Charlie, Mona, Zari and Sara head off to England to see what has derailed Jane Austin’s literary legacy. As it turns out, a mysterious gentleman masquerading as a charming coachman is a magical fugitive and responsible for the very odd behavior in Jane’s hometown. While Sara and Mona chat with Jane and try to discover what caused her to stop writing, Zari asks the coachman some questions and discovers (after making out with him) that he is the magical fugitive. Sara and Mona come to the same conclusion and rush to help Zari, but as it turns out, Z is not one to give into temptation. The three escort the Hindu god of love back to the Waverider. After some scintillating dreams, Zari fights with Mona and then confronts the man who claims to the be the Hindu god. As it turns out, he is not actually a god, but a human who collected the ashes of the real god to harness his power. He challenges Zari to give into love and let down her guard. Rankled, Zari accepts the challenge and one of the wackier sequences in Legends ensues. While Zari is off experiencing love and lust with Sanjay, Mona as Wolfy confronts Jane Austin and forces her to admit she does believe in true love and romance. She comforts Wolfy/Mona and tells her that losing control is not the answer. And back to Zari. She has somehow conjured magical music that is quite literally infectious and quickly spreads to the entire team and many of the townsfolk. Suddenly, we find ourselves in the middle of Bollywood scene. So Legends. Mona returns, embraces the musical, and sings Zari off the metaphorical ledge. Before she can marry Sanjay and become his 1,001 wife, she convinces her to come back to her senses while remaining open to love. It works. The spell is broken and the team return to the Waverider. During all of this, Ray has hidden Nora in his room on the Waverider. That should be interesting when we see the consequences of the magical music that took their relationship to another level. And last but not least, Constantine conducts a séance with Mick to put Hank’s spirit to rest. He admits that he was working with the demon Neron and Constantine is visibly shaken. Meanwhile, Nate discovers his father’s secret layer where he was working on a magical amusement park called Hayworld. What?! Extras The Bechdel Test I Surrender - Pin: surrender

Synopsis Mona is now stowed away on the Waverider while the Legends decide to take on another mission despite being on the outs with both the Bureau and Ava. When Mona tries to explain her plight to Sara, she blows her off (with a warning not to touch the red button in the bathroom) and heads off to 1973 to kidnap Nixon. Meanwhile at the Time Bureau, Ava has taken a leave of absence which means that Hank is in charge and the Legends are Enemy #1. Nate and Zari, who are still pretending to be dating, beat Hank to the Waverider to warn the Legends. Now fugitives themselves, all of Team Legends commandeer the Get Away and attempt to find out what’s wrong with Nixon and deliver him to Disney World in time for his infamous speech. While stuck in the RV, Constantine discovers that a truth bug has found its way to Nixon. He gets it out of Nixon, but a frustrated Sara leaves a fragile Mona in charge of the creature. Mona, afraid the bug is suffocating, pokes a hole in the top and drops the jar, causing Ray to drive erratically. When the police pull him over, the hole in the jar allow the bug to escape, attracted to the lies Ray is telling the police officer. As predicted, the Legends slip-up and after Ray tells the cop the truth, he reports the pot-smoking hippies to Hank’s delight. Sara tells Ray to gun it and they are once again on the run with Nate and Hank in hot pursuit. Constantine uses a neat bilocation trick so they can get off the road and away from Hank. It works and it buys the Legends some time for a little Truth or Truth. Constantine gets real, Ray gets dark, and Mick wishes he had Fabio’s hair. Finally, Sara gets the bug and unloads on Mona who decides to leave the Legends and try her luck on her own in 1973. Afterall, she has a secret that no one has yet uncovered. Back to Nate and Hank. So these two have a lot of good bonding time, even if initially Nate is only trying to get information from his father to uncover his secrets. After uncovering his father’s childhood pet for Gary (he and Nora are trying to hack Hank), he genuinely wants to learn more about his father. Unfortunately, Neron has uncovered that someone is hacking Hank and calls to warn him. Hank knows Nate can only be asking those questions for one reason, and correctly deduces he has been keeping the Legends one step ahead of them the entire time. In the end though, the truth bug finds Nate once Hank finds the Legends, or at least the Legends left in the RV. He finally opens up to his father, confessing he knows his secrets and how much he has enjoyed working with him. Nate cannot understand why Hank thinks they are on the same side, and Hanks claims everything he is doing, he is doing for Nate. He decides to let the Legends go when he realizes his actions are only hurting his son. Meanwhile, Sara and Constantine are looking for Mona and stumble upon a diner that is entirely too quiet. Just as the comment on it, Mona hurls an agent through the door and people come running out. They rush in to discover her dirty little secret: she’s a kaupe. Sara ends up talking Mona off the ledge by admitting she was wrong and that it’s ok to let out your feelings. Mona turns human again and the two embrace. With the mission complete, Hank returns to the Time Bureau for a late meeting with Neron. When he tries to “break it off,” Neron kills him for his trouble. Nora, aware of what is happening, escapes from her cell to try to save him. She is too late and Nate walks in as she kneels over the body. Assuming she killed him, Nate blames her and she is forced to escape before she save Hank. Extras EW Recap of The Getaway

For all the info and links visit our site at www.tomorrowslegends.ca Synopsis Ava and Sara bring Mike the Spike to his own personal containment cell as if the timey-wimey craziness of the previous episode never occurred. Ava and Sara learn that the kaupe is now missing and that Mona is “responsible” for his release. Sara and her team set out to track down the kaupe only to find that Mona has sent him to Mexico City 1961 in an attempt to save him from the men in black. Although she has suffered an injury herself, she insists the kaupe is “sweet” and there is a greater conspiracy afoot. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. After hearing Mona’s story, Zari talks Sara into letting her poke around the Time Bureau for evidence that the men in black exist and Mona was framed. The Away Team heads out for Mexico City 1961 to capture Konane while Zari heads to the Time Bureau. Ray and Charlie are “benched” for the first mission. The Legends discover the kaupe is a luchador named “El Lobo” and he has dethroned a famous lucha libre wrestler with whom Constantine is familiar. When Mick accidentally tells Mona the Legends intend to capture Konane, she gets his attention and when a riot ensues, he rescues Mona and takes her to his “home.” The Legends follow and capture both Mona and Konane. Onboard the Waverider, Ava calls Sara before she can properly explain what is happening with the conspiracy theory. She notices the Legends are harboring “fugitives” and Sara hangs-up on her, afraid their conversation might be tapped by the Bureau. Zari confirms Hank is responsible for releasing Konane and framing Mona. Both her and Sara dress-up and head to the benefit the Haywoods host every year. Zari is Nate’s “date” so she can confirm the footage on Hank’s phone, and Sara is looking for Ava to explain what is happening in person. Sara returns to the Waverider to discover Constantine and Charlie have talked Interim Captain Palmer into returning Konane to Mexico City 1961 to preserve the timeline. Sara has just learned that Ava is on her way to Mexico City and orders the Legends in Mexico City to “give ‘em hell.” A Legends worthy bar fight ensues and Mick escorts Mona and Konane back to his “home” so they may say goodbye. Unfortunately, they are tracked down by one of the Time Bureau agents who shoots Konane in the back just as Mona is about to send him home. Enraged, Mona turns into a kaupe herself and tears the man limb from limb. When Mick returns to find her with Konane’s body, she tells him, “there are no happy endings.” Extras AV Club Review for Lucha de Apuestas Recap of Lucha de Apuestas

Synopsis After the time wave, Charlie’s powers are restored and she sets out for Las Vegas 1962 after sending Zari Cat and the jump ship back to the Waverider. She impersonates Marilyn Monroe and discovers a leprechaun trying his luck out on Vegas. After he uses his magic, the Custodians of the Chronology appear in Vegas and gun him down. Immediately suspicious, Charlie follows Nate, Ray and Mick back to the Waverider. While they were out, Gideon informs the trio they have missed calls from Barry, Oliver and Kara. “Must be the annual crossover,” Ray says. “Hard pass,” says Nate. They inform “Amaya” that the Legends have adopted a shoot on sight policy after Sara was killed at Woodstock by the unicorn. Unfortunately, it’s after Charlie has taken Sara’s form to convince them to stand down and stop killing magical creatures. Garima stabs Charlie and to everyone’s surprise she heals, and escapes to the jump ship with Zari. They head to the Time Bureau hoping to find a lead on Constantine. Charlie impersonates Gary and finds out Constantine is imprisoned at the Time Bureau. She breaks into his cell and we soon find out the he is living with two realities in his head: the original one, where he condemns Des to hell, and the second one, where he saves Des by breaking up with him. After Charlie explains what’s happening, Constantine returns Zari to human form long enough for her to tell them what we all know: John needs to return to New Orleans and set things right. But he and Charlie are not ready to listen and return her to cat form. We learn Mona listened to the whole conversation and is happy to help them escape so they can stop the Custodians. A gun fight ensues and our team members who remember the original reality make it back to the jump ship. Charlie and Constantine head-off to Woodstock to save Sara and restore the timeline. But this is Legends… so our dynamic duo saves Sara only to doom Nate, Ray and Mick to death by fairy godmother, the same fairy godmother who turned Zari into a cat. So, Zari remains a cat, the boys perish, and the Sirens of Space-Time are born. Unfortunately for Charlie, she finds out they just might be worse than the Custodians, and still have a shoot to kill policy. Charlie escapes once again and they travel to Salem to repeat the process. Only this time, Zari turns into a puppet instead of a cat. What the Fraggle Rock? This time Constantine boards the Waverider to investigate this strange turn of events. Apparently, the fairy godmother bonded with Rory in Constantine’s absence and he turned them all to puppets before going on a crime spree with the fairy. Charlie tries several more times to fix the timeline with each resulting in the death of one of the Legends or our Time Bureau family. Finally, a trip to the time bureau doesn’t result in someone’s death, but Constantine can no longer bear living with multiple realities in his head and he collapses. Zari finally convinces him to ditch Charlie and return to New Orleans to set things right. Unfortunately, Charlie isn’t ready to give up her powers and has other plans. Charlie, now impersonating Ava, informs the Legends of a “magical creature” in New Orleans 2018. Assuming it is the elusive shapeshifter, Sara plots a course and tells Mick and Ray to shoot the creature on sight. Horrified, Charlie tries to talk her down and finally has to reveal she is the shapeshifter to prevent them from killing Constantine. Meanwhile, John successfully convinces Des that he does love him and erases his memory so he has no knowledge of the break-up. Des and John from several months kiss, setting the timeline back to normal. We see the time wave ripple out from the epicenter, saving the oldest version of John from being murdered by Ray and Mick who are transported back to the Waverider where they were previously battling Mike the Spike. Charlie is transported back to the Waverider with Zari (still human) where Constantine joins them to say mission accomplished. When they return to the Waverider, they find Puppet Stein and are concerned. We know things are back to normal when Ray gags Puppet Stein and promises he will live out his days in a magical containment unit. The final scene before we break for FIVE MONTHS is Hank and Desmond/Neron playing golf. Hank has just learned the kaupe escaped and reassures his boss (we assume) that all will be well. And now, we wait. Extras EW Recap of Legends of To-Meow-Meow

Synopsis Constantine is plagued by memories of an ex-boyfriend turned demon, flashes of the same person we saw in the premiere episode. Charlie jolts him awake and shows him his spell is “wearing off” with an attempt at shape shifting. John tells her it’s impossible and she responds saying one day he’ll need a favor, and then he will help her. Ava sleeps over and discovers Mick is still using Brigid’s book, so she confiscates it and Mick loses Garima. Ray interrupts their bickering with a fun quiz about serial killers. Right away, Ava realizes something is amiss with the quiz as it lists a female serial killer she has never heard of: Marie Laveau. Gideon confirms there is a magical fugitive somewhere in New Orleans and the team travels there to investigate. Marie Laveau kidnaps John and interrogates him, discovering John was involved with her great-great-grandson which lead to his demise. She compels John to save her kin just as Charlie and Zari come to rescue him. When asked if she has sensed another spirit in New Orleans, she informs them she has sensed a dybbuk. Meanwhile at the party, Ray investigates a creeper at the party and discovers a girl crying in room filled with dolls. She tells him the doll is going to kill her mother and Ray tells Sara the fugitive is a doll, just before he’s knocked out. Sara finds Ray and he wakes-up in time to warn her about the doll. Rory and Ava arrive in time to burn the doll and prevent more attacks. They chain it up on the Waverider and consider the mission a success. John cashes in his favor with Charlie and convinces her to pose as Amaya so that he never meets Desmond or joins the Legends. In theory, this should give Charlie her powers back. Mission complete, they get back on the jump ship and Zari has Gideon take command of the jump ship once she find out what they’ve done. It doesn’t matter though. Despite the intervention, John still meets Des and falls in love. It would seem this is an event that cannot be changed. When Zari presses him for more information, he explains that Neron, a demon who owns his soul, came calling. When John refused the help him, he bonded with Desmond (Des’s attempt to save Johnny) and John had to send them both down to hell. While Zari is busy looking for a loop hole, John and Charlie leave on a new mission: to break it off with Des before Neron interferes and bonds with Desmond. Meanwhile at the Time Bureau, Nate plays matchmaker (Hello, Dolly) and misinterprets Mona’s feelings for Konane as feelings for Gary. He urges her to follow her heart. She returns for an unscheduled visit and bonds with Konane. They are interrupted by (we assume) men working for Nate’s father. They abduct the kaupe and take him somewhere, presumably to be tortured. But Mona won’t stand for it any longer. She stands up to the men, who lash out at her, causing Konane to lash out at them. She’s wounded severely in the fight when the magical creature can no longer tell the difference between friend and foe. She urges him to flee when a time wave approaches. John has succeeded in his mission. Breaking Desmond’s heart has set off a cataclysmic time event, freezing Mona and the team aboard the Waverider who were both involved in battles with magical creatures. In the closing scenes, we see Charlie able to shapeshift after the time wave hits her and Zari, well, Zari has turned into a cat. What meow? Extras EW Recap for Hell No, Dolly! Synopsis While Mona is late for her first day at the Time Bureau, Sara pays a surprise visit to her girl on her birthday! While Sara is busy distracting Ava, Hank enters her office forcing Sara to hide quickly and collect her belongings while Hank reviews budget numbers. While Sara rushes off to return the Waverider before Hank and Nate realize she is gone, Ava is called to the containment cells when Mona sets off an alarm in Nora’s cell. Thinking she’s in danger, Ava rushes in and discovers Ray’s letter. Nora blasts Ava with magic to keep her from opening the letter and all three get locked inside the cell. Mona convinces the other two to loosen up and with a little wine, they start to tell Mona their life stories. She cheers them up with cake and tells them what amazing people they are. Now I’m better spirits, Ava convinces Nora to open Ray’s letter and to everyone’s surprise, they find Ray instead of a letter! He blasts them out the prison cell. On to the main story! We last saw Sara attempting to follow Nate and Hank through the time portal to the Waverider. However, she runs into the delivery person and has to find another way onboard her ship. While she changes, Ray and Zari guide Nate’s tour around the Waverider to avoid Charlie. Mick has other plans though and steers him to the lab where he sees “Amaya”. He rushes to give her a hug and gets decked. While Charlie pretends to be Amaya, Gideon identifies a fugitive in Paris 1927. Eager to please Hank, Sara, Nate and Mick head to Paris where Hank meets his idol, Ernest Hemingway. While Hank chats with Papa, Nate talks to Salvador Dali who has seen their magical creature. When Nate tries to return to the Waverider and research the creature, he runs Charlie and the Fitzgeralds. Charlie identifies the creature as a Minotaur over drinks and the team regroups after Hank is injured hunting the Minotaur. Constantine and Nate collaborate to find a way to stop the Minotaur. Constantine will attract the beast with musk while Nate puts it to sleep with a lute. Hank confronts Nate, doubting his plan to lull the beast instead of shooting it. Sara backs Nate and the team heads back out to stop the Minotaur from killing everyone at the nightclub. Constantine gets the beast’s attention and Nate begins to play the lute. Just as it is about to fall asleep, Hemingway feels the need to prove himself and pulls out a gun to shoot the Minotaur. Sara prevents him from doing so, but the trance is broken. The minotaur attacks Nate and breaks the lute. Trusting in Nate’s plan, for once, Hank grabs a guitar and sings the minotaur to sleep, finishing the mission in true Legends fashion. Nate sends his dad off to 2018 and stays with the team for a post-mission pizza party, which felt an awful lot like a farewell Nate party.
