Rex Mason seems to have it all. He has a well-paying job at Stagg industries. The boss's daughter, Sapphire, is his fiancée. He is even friends with a Green Lantern, John Stewart, where they spent time together in the Marine Corps. But it all comes apart in a literal train wreck. Rex's boss Simon Stagg, along with his pre-historic henchman Java, are up to no good. Stagg is trying to create the perfect worker who can survive in any environment. The project is called Metamorpho, but the issue is he needs a test subject to prove that his idea works before he can sell it. After the train wreck John fills Rex in on Stagg's illegal activities. Rex and Sapphire make their relationship know to Simon. Rex quits and says they are moving to Chicago. This seals the deal. Simon thinks Rex is not good enough for his daughter and now has a test subject. He sets a trap that Rex walks into, and the experiment begins. It transforms him into Metamorpho. Simon frames John to make Rex think John is after Sapphire. A battle between Metamorpho and the League ensues, and Rex has the upper hand. Thankfully Sapphire can slap some sense into Rex, and he goes after Simon. But as Rex is stopping Simon, the experiment goes off the rails. A giant Metamorpho like monster is created and it has part of Simon's mind in it. The League is having no luck in defeating it, even with Metamorpho's help. Batman has found a way to stop it, but it means Metamorpho must sacrifice himself to do it. His love for Sapphire, who is the captive of the monster, gives Rex no choice. He changes himself into the formula and takes down the monster. Thankfully, Sapphire's tears and love help Rex form back to his Metamorpho form. Lex finally has Superman where he wants him. So, he starts monologuing about how he did it. Much to his surprise it is Martian Manhunter. The League has enough to put him away, but they must catch him first. During his getaway attempt, he suffers a seizure, and immediately Superman is concerned and rushes him to a hospital where the doctor tells him he has poisoned his blood from carrying the Kryptonite all these years. There is no cure. In prison, Lex is struggling under the weight of the thought of death, the music choices of the Ultra-Humanite, and the fact he can't get his revenge on Superman. He comes up with a plan and he and Humanite escape. Lex gathers his version of the Legion of Doom (Cheetah, Star Sapphire, The Shade, Grundy, Copperhead, Ultra-Humanite and even the Joker). They stage a hostage situation to draw the Justice League. The battle ensues and eventually the League gets the upper hand, but not before Batman is bit by Copperhead. While he recovers, the rest of the League try to find Lex. Batman has tracked them but is outwitted by Joker and gets captured. Lex's condition is getting worse. So Humanite gives him a chest piece that negates the poison. The Legion tries in vain to take out the Watchtower, but a traitor in their midst, leaks info to help the League find the bomb. The League comes to rescue Batman. But it seems he didn't need it. He was bringing down the Legion from within by turning the members against each other. The Legion members flee and Lex is captured. Ultra-Humanite's deal with Batman was that money would be donated in his name to PBS to sponsor the opera programming he loves. Hello Legends! Yes, we can use that title this week. Thanks to Lex Luthor, part of our League gets transported to a different reality. One where John Stewart's childhood comic book heroes are real. The Justice Guild of America are a version of the Justice Society. The JGA and the League start fighting but end up as allies. They team up to fight the schemes of the Injustice Guild. But they cannot catch a break the villains get away and Flash and Black Siren are captured. Things are not what they seem. John is getting visions of a post-apocalyptic world. They keep seeing the same citizens. Then Hawkgirl finds the graves of the JGA members. Green Lantern is unwilling to believe it at first. They quickly find that the world is a facade. The junior Guild member, Ray, is not actually a boy. He is a mutated telepath. The world was the victim of a nuclear war. The Guild died in battle. But Ray recreated a golden age world with his childhood heroes. They fight a never-ending battle for Ray's amusement. After Green Lantern and Hawkgirl confront him he begins to attack the Guild and the League. The Guild give their lives to overpower Ray and the illusion is broken. The real people promise to rebuild. John powers up a portal made by Tom Turbine to transport them back to their reality. Take me back to Paradise City er Island, where the grass is green and the women have style and are strong. It seems Diana is not the only Amazonian who has left Themyscira. Aresia has come to man's world not on a mission of peace, but a mission of death. Aresia has gathered the Injustice Gang (Star Sapphire, Tsukuri, Grundy, The Shade, and Copperhead) and is using them to collect technology, gems, and more from Gotham City. But when the men start to question her plan, she gasses them. She is making an antigen that infects and kills only men. As a child, she escaped a war-torn country only to have her ship destroyed by pirates. She washed up on Themyscira. The Amazons raised her as one of their own and even used magic to give her Amazonian strength and powers. But she took the Amazonian feelings about men and her history to build hate towards all men. The men of the Justice League are taken down by the antigen. This leaves only Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl to take down Aresia, Sapphire, and Tsukuri. With Hippolyta's help, they damage the plane carrying the antigen bombs. Aresia seemingly goes down with the plane. In the process Wonder Woman and Hippolyta learn the value of men and how the Themysciraian doctrine can be twisted. The League is back on Earth, but they encounter some things they could not expect! Talking Gorillas, mind control, and a hidden city in Africa are just some of the surprises. Gorilla City is protected by a force field that makes it look like a mountain. The city is populated with evolved Gorillas with advanced technology. One of their own, Grodd, has made a play for power but was thwarted, and so he escapes to the U.S. With the help of scientist Dr. Sasha Corwin, he is using mind control to build the Gorilla City shield in Central City. The Flash and Green Lantern are drawn in to the situation, but a "run before you know the details" Flash gets caught unaware, and falls under mind controll. Fortunately, Solovar, a good Gorilla from Gorilla City, has come to stop Grodd and the three of them team up in the pursuit. Grodd gets the jump on them though, and is able to turn on his force field causing Central City to disappear! Batman and the rest of the league find Gorilla city and try to find out what is going on but are captured. Grodd fires nuclear missiles at the city and turns off their shield. Green Lantern and the rest of the League stop the missiles just in time. Flash uses his super speed to rewire Grodd's mind control helmet to fry his brain. The League is thanked and Grodd is put in a zoo, but for how long? Hello Justice Leaguers! Wonder Woman has been away from home for 8 months. At Superman's urging, she decides to go home and face the consequences of her actions. She was expecting an icy homecoming, but was faced with a stone cold one. Themyscira is in ruins and all of the Amazonians have been turned to stone. Felix Faust, disgraced archeologist and power-hungry magician, has taken the island on behalf of his master, Hades. Faust makes a deal with Diana, gather the pieces of the Key to Tartarus and he will free the Amazonians. The League agrees to help her while Batman does research on Faust. Diana brings the league to Themyscira to fight Faust and Hades. But Faust is able to open the gates to Tartarus and free Hades. Hades raises an army of the dead. The League fight them while Diana and her mother fight Hades. He is returned to Tartarus, his army and Faust is killed. The League is thanked. However, Diana is exiled from bringing men to the island. We have the assassin, Deadshot, trying to take him out as part of a coup against his leadership by his half-brother Orm. Aquaman sacrifices a hand to save his son. Then he and the members of the League must race to the North Pole to stop Orm from setting off a doomsday device that will drown humankind. It takes the teamwork of Green Lantern, Batman and Aquman to save the day. Is this the last we see of Orm and Aquaman or will he join the League eventually? The Justice League has journeyed across space to help John Stewart in an intergalactic trial, and we're following along! The Manhunters, robotic lifeforms who were the precursors to the Green Lantern Corps, have come to Earth seeking out John Stewart. The League tries to stop them before John turns himself in. He is then taken to an alien planet for judgement as he is accused of destroying a planet while doing his duty as a Lantern. Unfortunately he admits to his guilt of the crime. The League does not believe it. Flash risks the death sentence to defend him. Superman & J'onn head to the destroyed planet's moon to seek out answers. Hawkgirl confronts the other Lanterns for their lack of support. It turns out the Manhunters are out for revenge against The Lanterns for taking their jobs and the Guardians for abandoning them. They orchestrated the situation to cause mistrust and dissention. Thanks to the League, John is acquitted. They must rush to OA to stop the attack by the Manhunters. A Manhunter takes the main Lantern Battery power. Thankfully John is able to save the day with his oath. Hello Leaguers! We have begun our journey with Justice League the animated series and we are so excited. It is a great time for Flash and xforce11 to rewatch it and it is Harely's first watch. Secret Origins does not give us secret origins of our heroes, at least not all of them. We have heroes all over the globe, but they very much stay in their own lanes. The alien invasion has caused trouble. But J'onn J'onzz the Martin Manhunter reaches out and with Superman's help draws the heroes together. The aliens are shapeshifters and are crippling earth's defenses and early warning devices. They are formable foes. Our team comes together and then pair off to try to take down the alien's ships. It looks like Batman is dead. Superman and Hawkgirl are captured. Then the rest of the team is captured. The big boss comes down to finish them off, but Batman suddenly reappears to save the day with the help of J'onn who has cloaked him. In the end, Batman through, Wayne Enterprises, creates The Watchtower out in space. A place for them to come together and to watch out for threats from space and on the earth. And a League of Heroes is formed... Super Fam of Steel we have loved covering all four seasons of Superman & Lois, but like the title of this episode says, “It Went By So Fast.” Doomsday is on the rampage, and it takes Superman, both Superboys, and Steel's hammer to put him down...although only temporarily. Clark races to take him to the sun, prepared to fight him if he wakes up along the way. But inside, Bizarro awakens and seemingly understanding what he's done, he offers himself up and is ready to end all he has caused. Lex goes after Amanda for betraying his loyalty, ultimately proving he could love no one but himself, and thankfully the boys arrive just in time to save her. Back in town though, a vengeful Lex takes out Jon with a missile blast and Jordan ends up in Lex's grasp. Lois distracts him and then baits him to get close, allowing her to attach a new experimental bomb from John Henry, and Lex's suit gets damaged from the blast. Clark arrives and the battle is taken to the clouds. Nothing will stop Clark from protecting his family and with a series of massive blows, he destroys the suit. One year later, John Henry and Lana are getting married by Lois. The town comes together to celebrate. Everyone is making plans. Lex has been denied his appeal and is in prison, under Bruno's watchful eye. Superman, both Superboys, Steel, and Starlight from a team to protect the world. Clark and Lois start a foundation to help in ways the supers cannot and dedicate it to her father, Sam. As time goes by, Clark and Lois get to grow old together. Jon and Jordan both marry and end up having many kids. But their years of happiness soon come to an end as Lois' cancer returns, and Clark has to say goodbye. Life slowly continues on for him, but he feels lonely without Lois around everyday, and ends up adopting a dog. Then one day, while walking the streets of Smallville, he collapses to the ground due to his heart giving out. Time is growing short, but he is ready, as this mortality is something he never thought he'd have. Clark...Superman....passes on, and is greeted by all his loved ones as he makes one final journey to the other side, where a stunning Lois in her red dress is waiting for him. This was a wonderful close to a beautiful series. We have loved the ride with you and are so thankful for your thoughts on the podcast. The series is ending, and this episode set the board for the finale next week. This was not like a lot of penultimate episodes that are more action packed than the finale. This one was like a chess match where the players were making probing attacks. Clark takes the boys to the fortress to train against the Steel armor hologram, but all it does is prove they aren't battle ready. Lara informs himThey will never be as strong as Clark due to their half human DNA, so Lois convinces Clark to focus on what they can do working together. Lois is disheartened by the lack of success and the attacks from Lex and Amanda on her character. Clark encourages her to remember her advice and go back to the beginning. She goes to visit Bruno Manheim in prison, and they hash through Lex's history and patterns. But not much headway is made until Lois brings up Cheryl. It seems like she was used by Lex in the past the same way he is using Amanda now, even having her fall in love with him. Lois sees this pattern repeating with Amanda and brings it to her attention. Amanda then confronts Lex and sees that it is true. Clark goes after Lex and gets in his head. He calls him out for not being in control and relying on Amanda for the plan. This pushes Lex over the edge. He takes the Steel armor that Milton upgraded and goes after Doomsday who he then convinces to let him kill him one more time. Clark cannot stop it. We see the rise of comic accurate Doomsday. Doomsday goes on a rampage in Smallville. The boys go into action saving the town. Clark is fighting Doomsday, and it is a loosing battle. Lex watches from above, content to let Doomsday do the work for him. Hello Super Fam of Steel! The fallout from Clark's announcement that he is Superman is being felt. The paparazzi are flocking to Smallville and not making life easy for the Kent family. The boys cannot have an evening out with Nat & Candice because of it. The pressure has gotten to Candice, and she wants to break it off with Jon. But thanks to Jordan and Nat, he talks to her and convinces her he is there for her. But their bonfire gets interrupted when the Starlight suit, under Milton's control, crashes the party. It takes both Superboys working together to defeat it. Lois gets good news. Her scans are clear, and she is cancer free. But the celebration is short lived. Lex has gone on the Godfrey! Show. Gordan Godfrey, played by Tom Cavanaugh, is helping him spin the accusations against Lois and Clark. Lex calls her out to a debate. Due to her anger and ongoing threats she aggrees. The debate is not going well. Lois seeks to shut it down with a call to Lex's daughter, Elizabeth which is unfortunately interrupted by Superman hearing John Henry call to him from a Steel suit that's been taken over as by Milton as well! With control of the Steel suit, and John Henry stuck in it, there's nothing he tries that works. Clark must cause so much damage that the suit will fail which forces Milton to eject John Henry distracting Superman having to save him from a fatal fall from the sky. Meanwhile the suit flies back to Milton where he wants to make upgrades for Lex. Amanda expresses her desire to take the relationship with Lex to the next level and he agrees. Milton has upgraded the suit and made it worthy of Lex. Clark shares the hard news with the boys. Sam's heart is not fully compatible with his body, and his powers are starting to fade, eventually making him mortal. It's a sad and shocking reveal in yet another new direction for Superman. Super Fam of Steel, Clark is out on his tour of Smallville. He is trying to convince people he is not Superman. But things get tough when he and the boys must convince Timmy Ryan and his mom. All seems well until Emmitt Pergande confronts Clark at the dinner. Emmitt has been egged on by Lex, and once Kyle goes to usher him back outside, he pulls a gun on Clark. As the bullet is fired, time slows down to how Superman sees the world, and we see him go through all that he has endured in his life. This is the moment it all gets revealed. Flash is back and Xforce is away! Harley is the only recurring and stable host so far..what is with that?? It's episode 5 of Superman and Lois, as we get a deep look back at Lex's past with his marriage and his daughter, Elizabeth, so we can truly understand what brought them to the point they're at now with each other. It's a solemn episode as things never went well for Lex, adding fuel to his anger and hatred fire for Lois and Superman. Blaming everything that has happened to him on them, and not ever considering he may have part to play in the loss of his daughter in his life. As the situation escalates, Lex loses all sense of rationale and compassion. Revenge is all that fills his heart. Hello Super Fam of Steel. Lots of tears here on the Waverider as we mourn Sam Lane. Join us as we discuss “Always My Hero.” The Kent family privately mourns a funeral on the Kent farm, foreshadowing what's to come this episode. Later, Lois decides she needs to tell the world, Superman cannot save them anymore. With Lex and Doomsday still on the loose, Sam asks the Irons family to step up. Giving them brand new call signs, Steel and Starlight, the power duo suits up and are ready to help defend their new world. Jon is frustrated with Jordan. All the complaining about his powers, not being able to stand up to Lex, and also blames him for their dad dying. In anger and frustration, he punches a barn beam breaking his hand. All of this emotion, trauma and stress awakens his powers in one of the greatest scenes of the show. He has all of his dad's powers and is ready to train at the D.O.D. with Sam. Lex has control of Doomsday. It seems like he cares for little else than revenge on the Kents and finding his daughter. He spreads division by playing Jordan against Lois when he plays the audio of her choosing Jon over him. He sends his inside man to Sam, but he will not give up Elizabeth's location and Lieutenant Jonell Jones shoots him. The wound is mortal, and Doomsday is on the way. Sam takes the serum Bruno used to make Doomsday and sacrifices himself to Doomsday who crushes him in one hand while Lois and the boys watch. Steel flies the body to the Fortress and explains to Lara that Sam's heart can be a donor heart for Clark. She has reservations until John explains that Cal's blood was running through that heart, and she decides to try it anyway. The procedure seems to work ask Clark's eyes open with a gasping breath. The funeral continues from where we began the episode, as Lois says her goodbyes to Sam in a tearful moment. Can the Irons, Jon & Jordan stop Lex and Doomdsday? Hey Super Fam! Finally we're back in Smallville, and things aren't looking good. We pick up as if the finale of season 3 never finished and continue with the battle of the universe as Superman and Doomsday duke it out in space for DAYS!! Back on Earth, Lex has moved into Smallville and is looking to make Lois' life hell. He has his right-hand woman, Amanda, buying up land and leading the company. Gretchen holds Sam captive while toying with him a little, until Lex shows up and wants him buried alive. Luckily Jordan finally hears them and flies to the rescue with Lois in tow. Phew! The epic battle rages on, and as Superman powers himself up for one final attack, Doomsday seems barely damaged, and ends up beating Superman in the final collison, ripping his heart out in the process. He then delivers the body to Smallville, dumping it on the street witnessed by everyone there. Lois & the boys are in shock and cry out in pain, as Doomsday takes the heart to Lex. Lois commands Jordan to take the body to the fortress, but all Mamma El can do is put him in suspended animation as he is unable to grow back organs. Jordan goes on a vendetta to find his dad's heart. Jonathan is searching Lex's new place while Jordan hears what he thinks is the heart beating, and ends up walking right into Lex's trap. He is taken down by kryptonite weapons and super sonic blasters. He is forced to watch as Lex stomps on Clark's heart. The family gathers at the fortress to say their goodbyes, but a hologram Clark appears, and lets them know he will do what he can to help them, but out there in the world, it'll be just the three of them from now on. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. We come to the end of the line. It's the final episode. The finale of the show. The day that tomorrow will never come... In this last episode of Tomorrow People, We catch up with Jed making a one man assault on Ultra, where he finds Roger who asks Jed to kill him to stop the machine. But it is too late. The machine has absorbed all of his powers. Stephen is desperate to stop The Founder and save the humans. But Cara pulls him back from breaking the prime barrier to become a killer. Cara, Stephen, Russell, John and Astrid use Roger's plan to distract the killer Breakouts. Stephen then teleports inside and battles The Founder in an epic triple T power showdown. He prevails and sends The Founder and the machine into another dimension. Meanwhile, outside, Natalie gets the drop on Cara and shoots her from behind. Stephen once again is just a bit too late to save her, and in an animalistic scream, discovers he can reverse time, and grabs the gun from Natalie before she fires! Breakouts from all over the world come to the Lair seeking Stephen. They take over ULTRA as their new lair. Jed has discovered that he can use Roger's DNA to restore John's powers. But it wipes his memories. Jed sells the paranormal super soldier idea to the government using John as his example. We loved covering this series and think The CW missed the mark by cancelling it. It had great writing, acting and pacing. We can't help but wonder if it came out a year or so later how many seasons we could have gotten. It has been a fun ride, and we are glad you were along with us for it! John has been released from ULTRA. They have stripped him of his powers, and he is a broken man. He sees himself as a burden and a danger to Cara and the other Tomorrow People. He goes topside and confides in Astrid, who reminds him that his worth is not based on his powers. The make a connection and it makes Cara sad. Stephen finds the founder burned but still alive after Hillary's assignation attempt. The founder calls for Cara. He gives her an ultimatum. Deliver Roger to him or he will kill one of the Breakouts every hour. The tracker they got is also an explosive. This causes Natalie and Russell to rebel and force a fight. They take Roger to ULTRA. While Irene and Jed work on a way to prevent the tracker from killing people, they discover that it marks the genes responsible for the powers. Jed uses this to give himself powers. Stephen & Cara track down the repeater that sends the kill signal. They take it down, but not before a 2nd Breakout is killed. Roger is handed over and strapped into the Machine. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. After the revelations of the last couple episodes, people are picking sides between Jed and The Founder. The Founder is changing ULTRA to monitor Breakouts, not kill them or remove their powers. The Founder needs Stephen to power a machine that he says Roger created. The machine will take all the Tomorrow People to a refuge safe from all humans. Jed is over the edge. He is forcing Stephen to out himself to Luca. He drags John in to help him convince Stephen that the Founder is evil. Cara is skeptical of both and only looking out for the Tomorrow People. She sees the romance between Stephen and Hillary and The Founder holding sway over him. Stephen is the key to Jed's plans to bring back Roger. He is the key to The Founder's plans. He is key to the survival of Cara's group. But who does he trust? Both he and John are being used like pawns in this big chess game and they are going to lose. 300 EPISODES! We are so thankful that this show that started in 2016 is still going. Along the way we have added hosts and become a podcast network. We are grateful for our listeners who have become friends. We are grateful for the community built around this podcast. We have had fun covering Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, Superman & Lois, The Flash, Jupiter's Legacy, X-Men '97, and The Tomorrow People. We have other shows we are looking forward to covering. But none of this would be possible with our you our community of listeners! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. In this episode we see teenage Roger saving Jed from a bullet. It is an act that set Jed's live in motion. Through flashbacks we see the brothers experimenting and testing Rogers powers. A next step is need. Jed connects them with Hugh Bathory. He is a powerful and driven person with a vision. He coins the term Tomorrow People, because he is one. He has grand plans to help the world with the powers of the Tomorrow People. But Jed demands part of the research go to helping to give humans powers. This sets the two on a adversarial path. Jed convinces Stephen the only path to end the war is killing Bathory, The Founder. They need John to kill him. It takes some hard conversations between Jed and Stephen and Jed and John, but they move forward. In the end it takes Jed & TIM hacking The Founder's security, Cassie distracting her dad, and a battle for John & Stephen to get to him. But in the end The Founder says all of this was Jed's plan to drive a wedge between them. He says he and Roger built the machine to help the Tomorrow People move forward. Cassie pushes Stephen out of the way and John fire the gun. The Founder deflects it and it hits and kills Cassie. Jed is on the run, and we don't know who to trust. Cara is getting flashes of a new Breakout. She is in her head just like Stephen was. Tim helps narrow down the location to Lincoln Center. Cara and Russell find her. The ballerina breakout is Cara's sister Sophie. Sophie is talented and has been working hard to shine as a ballerina. The powers are nothing that she wants. The sisters reconnect and with the help of Astrid, Sophie sees who Cara really is. Cara cannot crush her sister's dreams and imprison her in the Tomorrow People's life. So, she has Stephen wipe Sophie from ULTRA's data base. With the help of a D Chip bracelet, Sophie can live her life. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Stephen, Russell and TIM have discovered that the piece of tech Stephen found is a key tied to his dad's DNA. It means that his body is still out there. Marla volunteers to find out the location from Jed. But her real motivation to be with him is to escape with him. She is pregnant with their child. The encounter does not go well, and she is saved by John. She only gets one image from Jed, a butcher's shop. But John remembers it from his youth with Jed. Cara pulls the location from John. Stephen, after a romantic encounter with Hillary, gets to the shop and the key gets him into the chamber where his dad is. But Jed shows up to confront him. There is a new Breakout on the scene that has both the Tomorrow People and Ultra running after them. This masked woman is known as the Red Avenger. She saves humans and leaves a rose as her calling card. It seems back in the day, Russell connected with Talia and as Breakouts, they took casinos worldwide. But Talia wanted more. She wanted to use their powers as superheroes. She left Russell. She knew he was not ready yet. She recruited women like her all over the world to do the same hero work. The Red Avenger in NYC is Mallory, and she is taking down an Asian gang. Russell and Stephen join her in protecting a Judge and his family. Russell feels called to live the hero lifestyle instead of hiding. So, he joins Mallory in stopping a hostage situation. With the help of John, Cara, and Stephen they stop the gang. Russell wants to leave with Mallory, but she says no. Talia shows up and tells him she is proud of him and to continue his work with the Tomorrow People. Hillary sees and admires the Red Avenger's work. It is what she wants and her inability as a kid to stop her family from being killed inspired her to join ULTRA. She makes several confessions to Stephen, and they end up kissing in his bedroom. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Stephen has put Astrid and her dad on a bus out of town and Marla is ready to take the family on the run. Stephen has major questions that he wants answers to. But she just wants to run. Jed shows up with an alternative. Stephen comes back to ULTRA and Jed will protect them all. Stephen agrees. However, it takes John talking with Marla to help her see the light. He fills her in on Stephen's double agent status. He tells her Stephen leaving would put the Tomorrow People in danger. She agrees to stay, but she will be waiting up for Stephen each night. We see in flashbacks that Roger left his family to protect them from ULTRA and The Founder. But he did get to say one last goodbye to Marla. We also see that Jed put Roger's body in cryostasis and goes and talks with him regularly. That plays into the main action of this episode. We have what looks like a Tomorrow Person hitman. He gets paid to take out difficult targets and does it well. When Stephen & Hillary capture him and Cara & Russell capture him at the same time, they discover it is twins. One is powered and one is not. Jed is ecstatic because ULTRA has been trying and failing to transfer powers to humans. Having twins would tell them so much. But Cara sends in the powered twin with a gun. The non-powered twin takes it and frees them. He almost kills Jed. But teamwork between Stephen, Hillary and another agent takes him out. Cara wants John to return to the lair, but despite his love for her, he will not be used by her like the twin was. So, they are still at odds. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Astrid is stuck in the lair of the Break Outs because ULTRA is after her. She can't even talk with her dad without putting his life a risk. This is weighing heavily on Stephen. So, he demands Jed take her off the hit list. But Jed won't. Stephen quits. Hugh, The Founder, has a way around this. He promises Stephen, if he brings in a powerful breakout quietly, he will take Astrid off the list. Stephen agrees and Cara is fine with it. The powerful breakout is Cassie Smythe is the daughter of The Founder. Her mother was a Break Out as well. That makes her a synergist, people how have great control and strong powers. We see that she can teleport 2 cars away at once, the bullets from the police officer's guns, and force etch words in concrete. With the help of TIM, Cara, and Russell, Stephen locates her and engage her in conversation. He puts the power dampening cuff on her, but then ULTRA shows up. It seems she wants to get caught. In the lair, she reveals that she wants her powers stripped from her. She did everything to call attention to herself so her father would have to let ULTRA do it. Her father has been experimenting and want to use her. Cara uses her powers see the experiments were on Cassie. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Hillary is out for herself and is willing to take Stephen down, even if it means getting Astrid killed. ULTRA has a policy that any humans that know of the Tomorrow People must be taken out. Stephen is faced with a dilemma, protect Astrid from ULTRA or his protect his family from Peter. Peter is taking the family camping and Stephen thinks Peter has powers and works for ULTRA. So, he asks to Break Outs to watch Astrid. On the camping trip, Stephen suspects Peter took them there due to the isolation and running water. Stephen even tests Peter twice. But it appears Peter does not have powers. It looks like Luca does. John lets Astrid know that he is there for her. Her music school audition is a setup by ULTRA. But John saves her but catches a bullet. She had to remove the bullet and Cara had to come in to save them from ULTRA. We see John's as a boy who had one human friend and got him killed. It was Stephen's dad who really comforted him. Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. We see more of Cara's past. After being kicked out by her father, she is living on the streets and using her powers to steal food. This is when Julian and Nelly rescue her. They are Tomorrow People like her. They know about ULTRA and are on the run from them. But they are stealing on a big scale to survive. Cara is afraid of Julian for good reason but idolizes Nelly. They take her on a heist, and it goes bad as the homeowner interrupts them. Cara lets him go and he comes back with a gun and kills Nelly. Julian fully snaps and tries to kill. He can't but the pain gets him high. Julian has gone around collecting people like him and they are back in town to steal from the rich and get high off their pain. ULTRA has him on their radar and sends the recruits, Stephen, Hillary, and Ray after him. Jed makes it clear; you keep passing his tests or you get depowered. Hillary is powerful and a real rival for Stephen. He wins her trust and keeps her and Ray safe from Jed. But she is crafty and wants to be on top. Charlotte is having major PTSD from her time at The Citadel and her psychic screams are pushing the Break Outs over they edge. They want to kick her out. Cara steps up and says no. They all went through tough times when they first broke out. John agrees to train her. He helps her focus her darkness and pain into power. Cara is taunted by Julian and Russell is beaten half to death by Julian's crew. She takes some of the Break Outs to his hideout and battle ensues. The tide turns and Julian's crew is winning. That is when Cara unleashes Charlotte on them. All but Julian are captured by Stephen and ULTRA. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the secret government task force, the ULTRA organization. Stephen was told by his dad to find his body and Simon Plane. Simon and Jack worked with Professor Crick. As Stephen tries to dig into Simon's files at ULTRA, their computer AI named Alice, alerts Jed. After gaining Jed's trust, Stephen finds out that Simon tried to steal Jack's body. Simon was killed and Jed said he cremated Jack's body. But John and the others don't believe that. Errol, a powerful Tomorrow Person breaks out of The Citadel with the help of others. The Citadel is an ULTRA run prison and science lab. Stephen and his partner are tasked with recovering Errol. But upon finding him and firing their weapons, he easily deflects the tranquilizer dart, so Stephen attempts to telepathically communicate with him. Errol forcefully pushes Stephen out of his mind, a new power not seen before. John confesses to the Tomorrow People about killing Jack and they force a vote for new leadership. Cara is voted in to the role, and immediately wants to save Errol from ULTRA and free the prisoners in The Citadel. The plan involves stopping the prisoner transfer and John shooting Stephen. The plan works. Cara is able help Errol remember enough to find The Citadel. The assault on The Citadel is going well until Jed figures out the plan and stops them. Cara free's the young Breakout, Charlotte. But Errol dies to protect them from Jed and it is only John's interference that stops Cara from being killed. On the home front, Stephen discovers that his mom is dating. Marla likes Peter and he seems to match her energy. But when Stephen tries to read him telepathically, he is pushed out just like Errol did to him earlier. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. Thanatos! Sounds like a Greek war cry. But what it ends up being is a man, a scientist in fact, that was there in the beginning helping Jed build Ultra! So many reveals this episode as Cara reveals to Jed she still has her powers, Stephen's dads was actually killed by John, the Founder of Ultra is a Breakout himself, and so much more! What an exciting episode that led into their holiday break way back when it first aired, and that's how you do a pre-finale break tension filled show! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. In a more lighthearted 80's reminiscent episode, Stephen embraces his inner Michael J Fox and becomes a star basketball player for a few days. Uncle Jed is unhappy Stephen's using his powers for fun, so he slaps a D-Chip bracelet on his wrist that nulifies his powers to teach him a lesson. Meanwhile, Cara, John, and Russell attempt to track down a serial rapist who has a clever way of disposing of his victims should they become troublesome. After some failed attempts to capture him, Stephen deduces where he is and tries to capture him alone, and without powers, but is quickly outmatched. Thankfully, Cara and John show up to rescue him, but not before his father appears to him while he's unconscious! The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. It's a flashback episode where we learn about Russell's past as a concert pianist. He has a complicated relationship with his parents. In the present day, Russell finds out his dad has passed away and insists on going across the country to the funeral. John goes with him to make sure he stays out of trouble. Unfortunately, Russell always seems to find it with his affinity for drinking and socializing. John tries to help him out and they end up getting detained after a true Legends style bar fight. Fortunately, John talks his way out of the situation and they go to the funeral where Russell performs a moving piano piece at his father's memorial. The mutants strike back.... Just like any good movie trilogy, the middle chapter is when the bad guys win...and well, nothing seems to go right for the good guys in this one, as we get the epic penultimate episode of X-Men '97! Going to levels animation has rarely gone on network tv, we face some serious repercussions for all that has happened, and emotions are flying high and no one is holding back any longer. Guess we wait and see in the finale next episode! Contact Information If you want to join in the discussion for X-Men '97, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. The Tomorrow People are tired of being cooped up in the abandoned subway station, so Cara proposes a night out. She finds a party they can attend and jaunts John for the right to take everyone out for the night. He's against it, but ends up coming along in the end. Meanwhile, Stephen and Astrid are preparing for homecoming but Stephen is intercepted by Jed and is taken to meet the big boss at Ultra, who just happens to be another Tomorrow Person. Jed picks up Stephen just before he leaves for homecoming with Astrid and takes him to a warehouse for a loyalty test. Unfortunately, this warehouse turns out to be the same party where John, Cara, and the rest of the Tomorrow People are. It turns out to be an Ultra ambush and chaos ensues. In a surprising ending, Cara uses the stolen serum to strip Kurt's powers for setting them up and getting at least three of their people killed. Stephen comes clean to Astrid and shows her what he can do. Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. The three part finale Tolerance is Extinction has begun.... Wow. Really that's all there is to say. It's shocking, it's horrifying, it's powerful. The writers are not leaving anything on the table for this series, and they're hitting us hard with the stories, the emotions and the visuals. Rogue is still unconscious as Jean Grey watches over her. Nightcrawler is concerned, but also comforts Jean when she questions her family choices. Prime Sentinels awake all across the world, surprising everyone, in the show, and us the viewers at just who became one, and how many there actually were! It's all out war as the mutants can barely hold their own and turn to run instead. That is until one fateful human, Val, decides she's seen enough, and frees Magneto from his captivity, and we see just what an Omega level threat is all about. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government run ULTRA organization. “Girl, Interrupted” is a parallel story. We have Cara's heartbreaking past being told in a series of flashbacks. She was a deaf high school student being raised by a single father alongside her younger sister. One of her high school classmates attempts to sexually assault her. Her powers manifest and she telekinetically pushes him away twice, killing him in the process. Her breakout somehow heals her deafness. But she is in jail for the murder with no chance of getting out. She teleports out to her home. Her dad pushes her out and she telepathically hears him say they are better off without her. This leads to her mistrust of normal humans. She is scared and insulates herself with the Tomorrow People Our other girl in this parallel story is Emily. She is a high school classmate of Stephen. She and Stephen have been on similar paths mentally. Her sister was killed in a car accident with a train and Emily feels responsible. Stephen is at a party with Astrid and he telepathically hears her thinking about suicide. He wants to intervene but both Cara and Jed advise him not to do it. In the end, Cara steps in and convinces her it is not her fault and to live. Stephen sneaks in a data link that will connect ULTRA and TIM. But it is found, and Jed sends agents to trap the Tomorrow People. They capture Cara. Stephen tires to prove his loyalty to Jed by offering to take Cara's powers. He is able to stop time and switch out the drugs and Cara fakes being neutralized. It seems to fool Jed and his assistant. "Kill or Be Killed" gives us John's backstory. John was rescued from a bad foster care dad by Jed. We see him learn the skills and abilites that make him such a great fighter now. But we learn that Jed experimented on the Tomorrow People to give them the ability to kill by blocking parts of their brain through intense drug therapy. Killian was a success but went rogue and John had to track him down. Now Killian is back and hunting his former friend. John has to face him again and we learn that John has the ability to kill as well. The Waverider has crossed us over to a new reality. One where the Tomorrow People, with telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation abilities, are on the run from the government fun ULTRA organization. This was the introduction episode for many people. Some of us grew up watching the U.K. original on Nikelodeon. This series took concept and ran with in. Throw in beautiful actors, much better special effects, and storylines not aimed at school aged kids, and you get the CW version of The Tomorrow People. Stephen Jameson is a high school student struggling with voices in his head and waking up in strange places. He quickly learns that he is a Tomorrow Person, genetically superior to normal humans. Cara and John tell him his long-vanished father was their leader and he can be the key to finding Jack. But Jed and the ULTRA organization are out to find and stop them. ULTRA is made up of Tomorrow People working for the government. Jed says they are seeking to protect civilization from the powers of the Tomorrow People. However, we find out it as personal vendetta. Jed is Jack's brother and Stephen's uncle. Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. Remember It. A title we won't ever forget. One of those moments you will always know exactly where you were and when you heard it. The most unexpected ending we could ever have imagined. And that gutted us. Like being hit by a Sentinel sized fist right in the stomach. Rogue is devastated. We all are. The sheer amount of loss this episode is unprecedented. Words cannot express the impact on our hearts. Farewell Gambit. Farewell to all the fallen.
