Justice David Souter has died. Souter was one of the most private, low-profile justices ever to have served on the Supreme Court. He rarely gave interviews or speeches. Yet his tenure was anything but low profile. Deemed a “home run” nominee by Republicans, Souter defied partisan expectations on the bench and ultimately ceded his seat to a Democratic president. As we reflect on his legacy, we wanted to share this episode again. Produced two years ago, this episode tells the story of how “No More Souters” became a rallying cry for Republicans and inspired a backlash that would change the Court forever.Voices in the episode include:• Ashley Lopez — NPR political correspondent• Anna Sale — host of Slate's Death, Sex & Money podcast • Tinsley Yarbrough — author and former political science professor at East Carolina University• Heather Gerken — Dean of Yale Law School and former Justice Souter clerk• Kermit Roosevelt III — professor at University of Pennsylvania School of Law and former Justice Souter clerk• Judge Peter Rubin — Associate Justice on Massachusetts Appeals Court and former Justice Souter clerk• Governor John H. This Day in Legal History: Sandra Birth-Day O'ConnorOn this day in legal history, March 26, 1930, Sandra Day O'Connor was born in El Paso, Texas. Raised on a remote Arizona ranch, O'Connor would go on to become the first woman appointed to the United States Supreme Court. After graduating near the top of her class at Stanford Law School in 1952, she struggled to find legal work due to widespread gender discrimination, eventually beginning her career in public service and Arizona state politics. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan nominated her to the Supreme Court, fulfilling a campaign promise to appoint a woman to the bench. Her unanimous confirmation by the Senate marked a historic shift in the Court's composition.O'Connor quickly established herself as a pragmatic and often pivotal swing vote, particularly in cases involving reproductive rights, federalism, and affirmative action. Her opinion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992), co-authored with Justices Kennedy and Souter, preserved the core of Roe v. Wade while allowing for more state regulation—an outcome that satisfied neither side of the debate. Critics argued that her incremental, case-by-case approach often lacked a firm constitutional foundation, leading to legal uncertainty and doctrinal ambiguity.Supporters, however, praised her moderate jurisprudence as a stabilizing force in a deeply divided Court. O'Connor was also a staunch defender of judicial independence and civics education. She retired in 2006 to care for her husband, who had Alzheimer's disease, and remained active in public life for years afterward. While her legacy is marked by both trailblazing achievement and contentious rulings, O'Connor's presence on the Court undeniably reshaped the public's perception of who belongs in the nation's highest judicial institution.President Trump signed a new executive order on Tuesday targeting the prominent law firm Jenner & Block, escalating his pattern of actions against firms involved in litigation against his administration. The order restricts the firm's access to federal contracts, security clearances, and government facilities—mirroring similar actions taken against Perkins Coie and Paul Weiss. Trump justified the move by pointing to Jenner & Block's former employment of Andrew Weissmann, who worked on the Mueller investigation into Trump's 2016 campaign. The White House accused the firm of politicizing the legal system, while Jenner & Block denounced the order as unconstitutional and pledged to fight it.This is the fourth such order Trump has issued since returning to office in January. Jenner & Block has been active in challenging his administration in court, including blocking enforcement of a policy denying federal funds to providers of gender-affirming care for minors, and opposing efforts to restrict asylum rights. The firm also represents an environmental group suing the EPA over frozen grant funds. Many of Jenner's attorneys have ties to previous Democratic administrations and the January 6 congressional investigation.Trump's broader campaign includes a recent directive to the Justice Department to target law firms that have sued the government in recent years. Legal experts and bar associations have warned that these executive orders risk undermining the independence of the legal profession.Trump targets Jenner & Block in latest executive order aimed at law firms | ReutersThe U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments Wednesday on the constitutionality of how the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) funds its Universal Service Fund—a program that supports broadband and phone access for underserved communities. Critics argue the FCC's funding structure violates the Constitution by improperly delegating Congress's legislative authority, a concept known as the non-delegation doctrine. They also raise concerns under the private non-delegation doctrine, claiming the FCC unlawfully transferred power to a private entity—the Universal Service Administrative Company—to manage and determine contributions to the fund. The fund, created under the 1996 Telecommunications Act, collects about $9 billion annually from telecommunications providers, who often pass these costs on to consumers. A divided ruling by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found this setup unconstitutional, citing Congress's broad delegation of authority to the FCC and the FCC's subsequent subdelegation to a private company. The court did not specifically rule on either non-delegation theory but found the overall structure breached the Constitution's assignment of legislative powers to Congress. The FCC, backed by telecom firms and public interest groups, argues that Congress provided sufficient guidance and oversight in the law and that the agency has acted within legal bounds. The Supreme Court, which has a conservative majority, has recently scaled back the reach of federal agencies in other contexts but has yet to rule directly on a major non-delegation case in decades. A decision is expected by June.US Supreme Court to scrutinize Federal Communications Commission fund's legality | ReutersA high-stakes race for a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat is shaping up to be a major political flashpoint, testing the strength of Trump's support in a swing state and attracting record-breaking spending—much of it tied to Elon Musk. The April 1 election will determine the ideological balance of the state's top court, which is poised to rule on pivotal issues like abortion access, redistricting, labor rights, and election laws ahead of the 2026 midterms and 2028 presidential election. Conservative candidate Brad Schimel, backed by Trump and major outside funding, is facing off against liberal candidate Susan Crawford.Over $81 million has been poured into the race, far surpassing the previous record of $55 million in 2023. Schimel and his supporters have spent about $46 million, including $17.5 million from Musk-affiliated super PACs. Musk also personally donated $2 million to the state GOP, which quickly funneled funds to Schimel's campaign. Musk has openly warned that a liberal court majority could redraw congressional districts and shift the balance of power nationally.Crawford accused Musk and Trump of trying to install a compliant judiciary, while Schimel insisted he's made no promises to any backers. Meanwhile, Democrats criticized Musk for a potential conflict of interest, citing a Tesla lawsuit in Wisconsin that may end up before the state court. Republicans countered by pointing to liberal billionaires supporting Crawford. With the court expected to rule on abortion rights, labor laws, and future election cases, this judicial race could have national implications.Wisconsin court race tests Trump's approval as Musk pours millions into campaign | ReutersA piece I wrote for Forbes this week explores why it's time to move beyond gas taxes and adopt a kilowatt-hour (kWh) tax to fund road infrastructure. As electric vehicle (EV) adoption increases, gas tax revenues are falling—undermining the traditional funding model for maintaining and expanding roads. Meanwhile, construction costs are rising, and the federal gas tax hasn't been adjusted since 1993, leaving states with a growing fiscal gap.I argue that instead of hiking gas taxes on a shrinking pool of internal combustion drivers or cutting infrastructure budgets, states should issue bonds to build out public EV charging networks. These investments could be repaid through a kWh tax on public charging—a fee that would be closely tied to actual road usage. This approach would be more proportional and transparent than flat EV registration fees or invasive mileage-tracking programs.Unlike a gas tax, which is loosely connected to how much someone drives, a kWh tax—especially if tiered by charging speed—would more accurately reflect miles traveled and wear on the roads. It also avoids privacy issues and technological complexity. Drivers charging at home could remain exempt, just as today's drivers can choose where to fuel up.Ultimately, I propose this as a modern, fair way to ensure EV drivers contribute to the roads they use, while giving states the tools to build the infrastructure needed for a successful transition. It's Time To Replace Gas Taxes With A Kilowatt Tax This is a public episode. New reports offer a look into the TV ads that struck a nerve in 2024. The Advertising Standards Authority received hundreds of complaints last year, but only accepted 100 for review. They include people disgusted about someone picking their nose, and outrage over cars not stopping at a pedestrian crossing. Chief executive Hilary Souter says they get a raft of complaints for all different reasons. "What's interesting to us about the people looking at ads is that they often pick up one issue in an ad that's running for, say, 30 seconds - it's a TV thing that pushes their buttons." Friday, 30 August 2024 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. Matthew 3:6 “and they were immersed in the Jordan by him, acknowledging their sins” (CG). The previous verse noted that Jerusalem, all Judea, and the region around the Jordan went out to John the Baptist. With that remembered, the thought now continues with “and they were immersed.” The word baptizó, to baptize, is now used for the first time in the New Testament. It is a transliteration of the Greek word. Its English meaning is “to submerge.” It is unfortunate that the word was transliterated and not translated because a lot of very poor theology could have been avoided. However, that is the reason the word was not translated. Nobody at the time wanted to get stuck in a theological argument about sprinkling vs. immersion or whether child baptism is acceptable. Wars could have started over such a thing. As for the meaning, a few commentaries will be given – HELPS Word Studies says, “properly, ‘submerge' (Souter); hence, baptize, to immerse (literally, ‘dip under'). 907 (baptízō) implies submersion (‘immersion'), in contrast to 472 /antéxomai (‘sprinkle').” So, no sprinkling. Got it. Thayer's Greek Lexicon says, “properly, to dip repeatedly, to immerge, submerge (of vessels sunk, Polybius 1, 51, 6; 8, 8, 4; of animals, Diodorus 1, 36).” So, when a ship sinks, it gets baptizo'd. Got it. Strong's says, “From a derivative of bapto; to immerse, submerge; to make whelmed (i.e. Fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism -- Baptist, baptize, wash.” Whelmed... I see. Fully wet. Got it. This issue of John's immersion was that of completely submerging those who came to him. A sign was thus being made that the people were wholly devoting themselves to return to the Lord, reconsidering their ways. If they came out and John sprinkled a little water on them, it would have signified something entirely different. Further, John's baptism, being a baptism of reconsideration of one's ways, would not apply to little children because they had nothing to reconsider. Until they were old enough to know what was right and reject what was wrong, they were under the care and direction of their parents. When Jesus initiated the New Covenant, the same truths would exist, but the immersion He directed now has a different purpose – “And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples 2 he said to them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?' So they said to him, ‘We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.' 3 And he said to them, ‘Into what then were you baptized?' So they said, ‘Into John's baptism.' 4 Then Paul said, ‘John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.' 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.” Acts 19:1-6 In Acts 2, like John's immersion, the immersion directed by Peter was one of reconsideration (Acts 2:38), but it was for a different reason. They had just rejected Jesus and crucified Him. They had to reconsider their actions first, believing on the name of Jesus. So, each account in Acts needs to be considered carefully to understand what is happening. The main point for now is that baptism signifies full immersion. Got it? Got it! John was immersing them “in the Jordan by him.” The Jordan was first mentioned in the previous verse. It means The Descender. Everything about the Jordan forms a picture of Jesus. John was symbolically preparing them for the coming of their Messiah by submerging them in the waters of the Descender. This was because they were “acknowledging their sins.” Sin comes about through law. Where there is no law, sin is not imputed (Romans 5:13). The law is not something that is given for righteous people. Rather, Paul explains the purpose of the law in 1 Timothy – “But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.” 1 Timothy 1:8-11 These are the type of people that were coming forward, acknowledging their state and reconsidering it before the Lord. It is hard to figure out why people would want to return to the law that Jesus fulfilled. By doing so, they are admitting that they are not righteous. Instead, they are reflected in the words of Paul above. Those who have come to Christ are now deemed as righteous before God, not because of what they have done, but because of what He has done. Life application: It was noted above that the Jordan, the Descender, pictures Christ. A portion of that will be explained so that you can understand how God has taken even the natural layout of the land of Israel to tell us about the coming of Christ Jesus. The Descender starts at Mount Hermon, which means “Sacred.” It is a three-peak mountain, each peak of which is essentially the same size and height. That is a reference to the Trinity. Hermon is capped in snow all year, signifying purity. It is emblematic of heaven, the Sacred place. The water descends from Mount Hermon springing up in the very northern areas of Israel just as Jesus sprang up from the land in His incarnation. The waters first pass to and through the area of Dan, or Judge. Christ descended from heaven to the world to be the Judge of sin and to have sin judged in Him. The waters flow south into the Galilee, where they linger before passing south, again into the Jordan. Christ's life and ministry were centered on this area where He lingered, spending most of His recorded time there. The Jordan then travels in a very long zigzagging path along the border of Canaan. Christ, the Descender, went through all Israel, traveling and preaching. The Jordan terminates in the Salt Sea, the Sea of the Arabah (Sea of the Pledge). It is the Dead Sea. Christ, the Descender, went to His death. But there was no corruption found in Him, typified by the salt of the Salt Sea – a picture of incorruption. In His death, the pledge, typified by the “Sea of the Pledge,” is given. It refers to the Spirit, the pledge (arrabon – from the Hebrew eravon) of Ephesians 1:13, 14 – “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee [arrabon] of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13, 14 From this sea, the waters do not continue on. Rather, they evaporate – a picture of the resurrection and ascension. As for the fulfillment of the typology, Jesus Himself expressly tells us that He is the fulfillment of what the Jordan pictures – “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” John 6:38 Though modern New Testament Hebrew is different from biblical Hebrew, there are overlapping words. In the Sar Shalom Hebrew translation of Jesus' words, v'yaradti, “and I have come down,” is used. The name Jordan is from the same word, yarad. Jesus is the Descender. These are but a few of the many pictures that can be drawn from a study on the Jordan. For example, Joshua 3 and 4 tell of the time when Israel passed through the Jordan on dry ground. Both passages give amazing insights into the future redemption of Israel when they come to God through acknowledgment of Jesus Christ. To understand these pictures, the sermons from the Superior Word are available in a variety of different formats for you to read, watch, or listen to. Each time the Jordan is mentioned in Scripture, information about the Person of Jesus is seen. Be sure to consider what you are reading as you go through the Bible. It is all telling us of Jesus. How precious is Your word, O God! It is telling us wonderful stories about what has been, what is currently going on, and what is coming in the history of the redemption of man, and it is all centered on the giving of Your Son for us. Thank You, O God, for Jesus Christ our Lord. Hallelujah and Amen.

Today we hear from an incredibly successful businessman and philanthropist and discover his heart for the gospel. Starting with the influence of his mother, he explains how his relationship with Christ has shaped his life, his giving, his ministry and his own personal evangelism.Sir Brian Souter grew up on a council estate in Perth, Scotland. He and his sister built the Stagecoach company into one of Britain's largest bus companies in the 1990's, moving into other transport and international ventures. He set up the Souter Charitable Trust with his wife Lady Elizabeth in 1992. Since 2006 the Trust has awarded more than 15,000 grants totalling over £100 million (including support for Solas). He received a knighthood in 2011 for his contributions to transport and the voluntary sector. Still resident in Perth, Sir Brian has four grown up children and five grandchildren.
The Science of Healing and Quantum Faith (3) (Audio) Timelines (Our thanks to Deb and husband Will Horton, who majored in Physics.) (David's notes in red) Wikipedia defines “quantum” as: “In physics, a quantum (the plural ‘quanta') is the minimum amount of any physical entity or physical property involved in an interaction. The fundamental notion that a physical property can be "quantized" is referred to as "the hypothesis of quantization". This means that the magnitude of the physical property can take on only discrete values consisting of integer multiples of one quantum. For example, a photon is a single quantum of light of a specific frequency (or of any other form of electromagnetic radiation). Similarly, the energy of an electron bound within an atom is quantized and can exist only in certain discrete values. (Atoms and matter in general are stable because electrons can exist only at discrete energy levels within an atom.) Quantization is one of the foundations of the much broader physics of quantum mechanics. Quantization of energy and its influence on how energy and matter interact (quantum electrodynamics) is part of the fundamental framework for understanding and describing nature.” Willard says that an “element” (or “particle”) of time is not yet defined in science. However, the Bible does define a particle of time. It is the “twinkling of an eye” in (1Co.15:51) Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed, (52) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. According to Strong's, “moment” is from átomos (from 1 /A "not" and 5114 /tomṓteros, "to cut") – properly, not able to cut (divide) because too small to be measured, like a "split second"; an "instant; an indivisible moment of time, too short to measure" (Souter). Deb: If it's indivisible, then that means it is in a wave form. Schrodinger's Cat: Re: The 10/27/23 Friday UBM Live Broadcast As David started his explanation of what the factious satanists had done to sacrifice Eve Brast and how she had been snatched out of her grave in the woods where they buried her, by an angel over the UBM angels, named Baruch. And how she had received another body, how some of the factious died yet came back only to die again, and many other events that had occurred involving opposing timelines, I was beginning to freak out. I thought maybe David had been invaded by some New Age spirit and was going down the path of transmigration of the soul, but as he continued, I realized I was hearing "Schrodinger's Cat as described by David." Wikipedia says: “In quantum mechanics, Schrödinger's cat is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, of quantum superposition. In the thought experiment, a hypothetical cat may be considered simultaneously both alive and dead, while it is unobserved in a closed box, as a result of its fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur. This thought experiment was devised by physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935[1] in a discussion with Albert Einstein[2] to illustrate what Schrödinger saw as the problems of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.” So I emailed David about the broadcast and my initial concern, along with a link to an article with the best layman's explanation of the Schrodinger's Cat paradox that I could find. But when David tried the link, it came up "404 Page Not Found." After David replied to my email and I tried it again, that link came up "404 Page Not Found" for me, too. Well, it was there for me or I couldn't have read the article and copied the link and sent it to David. Then suddenly I realized that the Lord was actually verifying the premise of Schrodinger's Cat, which is that something can be there and not be there at the same time. Why and how is that possible? (When the Lord first spoke to me of two opposite timelines running parallel at the same time I did not understand. As time went on I understood that the good believers timeline was actuated by our faith in believing we have received what we ask for. Mar 11:23-24 ASV Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it. (Speak to the mountains that hinder your path and remove them like unbelief.) 24 Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye received (Greek) them, and ye shall have them. (So we see that everything you pray and ask for believe you have received it by order of Jesus. This is the believer's timeline. The other timeline is the unbeliever's timeline which is under the curse. What Quantum Physics or Mechanics has proven is that the whole creation is set up to answer our prayers of faith. Our experiences in this regard are parables that help us realize the necessity to know what faith is and to use it.) The least technical scientific explanation I can give you of the Schrodinger's Cat paradox is that merely by the act of observing something, the observer does indeed affect what is being observed. (We see in our minds eye what we want or need when we ask for it.) You may possibly have run across this in a Science News or Scientific American article where they discuss how those observing a complex experiment may inadvertently affect that experiment because they are looking for a specific outcome. In some cases, multiple observers may each obtain a different outcome because that was the outcome they desired to find, so multiple observers are able to cause multiple outcomes. What is seen, or what is called "reality," actually does depend on the observer, i.e. the faith of the person to see the thing they have asked for. And that matches what Jesus said in (Mat.9:29) ... According to your faith be it done unto you. Here are the pieces of Barry Rothman's arkcode.com write-up where the Bible describes altering timelines by reversing them. [Beginning of copied Rothman section.] “The 37th chapter of Ezekiel calls to mind what would be seen on a film if an army were suddenly killed, fell to the ground, then started to rot and decompose. There's just one problem – Ezekiel 37 describes what would be seen if the film were run in reverse. That is, it seems to portray resurrection as a process akin to the reversal of time. But while Ezekiel is interpreted by some as metaphor, 2nd Kings 20:8 -11 is a very different matter. The incident in question is as follows: (2Ki.20:8) And Hezekiah said to Isaiah: “What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the LORD the third day?” (9) And Isaiah said: “This shall be the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do that thing that He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or back ten degrees?” (10) And Hezekiah answered “It is a light thing for the shadow to decline ten degrees, nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.” (11) And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD; and he brought back the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Ahaz. The story of how Isaiah, with God's help, reversed time (or the spin of the Earth) is also found in Isaiah 38:8, which states, "Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the dial, which is gone down in the sun-dial of Ahaz, to return ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down." The BACKWARD description mentioned earlier with respect to the film analogy can be seen in Ezekiel 37:1 to 14: (Eze.37:1) The hand of the LORD was upon me, and the LORD carried me out in a spirit, and set me down in the midst of a valley, and it was full of dry bones; (2) and he caused me to pass by them round about, and, behold, there were very many in the open valley, and, lo, they were very dry. (3) And He said to me: ‘Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, You know.' (Eze.37:4) Then He said to me: ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them: O you dry bones, hear the word of the LORD: (5) Thus says the LORD GOD unto these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. (6) And I will lay sinews on you, and you will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the LORD.' (Eze.37:7) So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and a commotion, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. (8) And I beheld, and lo, there were sinews upon them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them. (Eze.37:9) Then He said to me: ‘Prophesy unto the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath: Thus says the LORD GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.' (10) So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, and they were a very great host. (Eze.37:11) Then He said to me: ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say: Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off. (12) Therefore prophesy, and say unto them: Thus says the LORD GOD: Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, my people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. (13) And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and caused you to come up out of your graves, O my people. (14) And I will put my Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land; and you shall know that I the LORD have spoken, and performed it, says the LORD. RESURRECTION IN TORAH AND TALMUD. The picture that the Torah paints of resurrection is again one that resembles the reversal of time. In Deuteronomy 32:39 we read, "See now, that I am He - and no god is with me. I put to death and I bring life, I wound and I will heal, and there is no rescuer from My hand." The Babylonian Talmud Sanhedrin (91b) discusses this verse. It states, "Our Rabbis taught: I kill, and I make alive. I might interpret, I kill one person and give life to another, as the world goes on: therefore the Writ states, I wound, and I heal. Just as the wounding and healing [obviously] refer to the same person, so putting to death and bringing to life refer to the same person. This refutes those who maintain that resurrection is not intimated in the Torah." With respect to the arrow of time, the normal sequence would be healthy wounded still alive dead. But the sequence in Deuteronomy 32:39 is dead brought back to life living, but wounded healed. This again looks like a reversal of the arrow of time.” [End of copied Rothman section.] Deb: Notice that if time can be stopped and then reversed, then time also has the characteristics of a particle. Also, Barry Rothman didn't include the most famous time stop ever, which is when Joshua commanded the sun and moon to stand still, because the sun and moon responded to the spoken words of faith. (Jos.10:12) Then spake Joshua to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; And thou, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon. (13) And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, Until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. (14) And there was no day like that before it or after it, that Jehovah hearkened unto the voice of a man: for Jehovah fought for Israel. (Barry is quite right, a reversal of time would bring back your old body at a younger age. But this is not the case as we know from Eve's body and the gifts that came with it. This is not a resurrection of the old body but a new body given by God.) Eve's New Body (I believe Eve's new body shows us what the Bride will have.) Deb Horton: I couldn't sleep and just kept pondering about Eve's new body. At the Pot Blessing, I talked to David about the two verses I shared with Terri and he agreed. He also said (1) he couldn't explain everything in a 2 hour broadcast, so I fussed at him about his choice of words because people could take them the wrong way just as I initially did and (2) he said that the Lord told him Eve's body was so defiled He wouldn't resurrect it but gave her a new body instead. (2Co.5:17) Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. I went to the Greek and it could mean a completely different body. Terri McGinley: I asked and got a “no” (for a resurrection of the old body). I asked if Eve had a completely different body and got six heads in a row. I originally got four and asked for two more to confirm a “yes”. (Eve was given a new younger body (This is not a glorified body. This was a resurrection to a physical life and hence it is a physical body.) Her spiritual woman was pulled out of the grave after two days of being buried and was given a young completely healthy body. Her spiritual woman is her spirit and the part of her soul that was born of God. Whereas her old carnal man was her flesh and the part of her soul that was unregenerate, which God said burned up. Her body was not taken from the ashes of her old body because God said they were defiled. Ashes are pure from disease, germs, etc. But they came from the old man so in the spirit realm they are defiled. I believe the DNA was more in line with the Lord's. When we eat His Body and drink His Blood, He said that we have His life. I have been seen in dreams in such a body, too. I believe it is the restoration of years under the curse mentioned in Joel 2 and the "restoration of all" ("things" was not in the Greek). Meaning all of the fully sanctified ones in Acts 3:21 who will be completely restored. Just as Eve typed the Bride in many dreams, I believe the Bride will all have this regenerate body when the out-resurrection comes with the spiritual resurrection of the Man-child to the throne. She has a body like she would have wanted. She looks mostly like original Eve but younger and prettier. Her hair which was died red is now naturally red. She has no hair on her legs since she hated shaving it and her legs are more slim. She also has wonderful gifts now, like Jesus had, like reading minds and seeing things in the Spirit anywhere. Her discernment is great. I was told by the Lord that she was almost unique on earth because of her physical and spiritual makeup. I asked if she ever had a symptom of sickness or pain and she said, “never”. It appears she is not under the curse. Matt's dream below shows her to have a special spiritual ministry for UBM. We have already seen some of this. For instance she is able to look in on our enemies.) Terri McGinley asked: Is this where someone came back into a different body or am I just missing it. I received 2 tails for No. (She was given by God a completely new body that was similar in looks but without characteristics she did not like.) So I asked for a verse by random computer and received (Act.2:38) And Peter [said] unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. What do I need to repent of? I received (Php.3:20) For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: [But look at the next verse & completion of the sentence:] (21) who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself. I just don't know. The Bible says there's nothing new. (Meaning it has happened before. Melchizedek had no earthly lineage. Heb 7:3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest continually. We are the body of Christ and we are being conformed to His image. The Double Slit Experiment Time (or the perception thereof) is also both a particle and a wave. Example: As soon as you say, "Now," your "Now" is your past and you are in your future, so technically, everything that can/will ever happen is happening all at the same time. Here's the link to a more layman's explanation per Willard: https://www.space.com/double-slit-experiment-light-wave-or-particle Excerpt: “The double-slit experiment is one of the most famous experiments in physics and definitely one of the weirdest. It demonstrates that matter and energy (such as light) can exhibit both wave and particle characteristics — known as the particle-wave duality of matter — depending on the scenario, according to the scientific communication site Interesting Engineering” (which is the site that Michael found). “According to the University of Sussex, American physicist Richard Feynman referred to this paradox as the central mystery of quantum mechanics. We know the quantum world is strange, but the two-slit experiment takes things to a whole new level. The experiment has perplexed scientists for over 200 years, ever since the first version was first performed by British scientist Thomas Young in 1801.” https://interestingengineering.com/science/what-is-the-double-slit-experiment-and-why-is-it-so-important Coming Resurrections Eve's New Job Matthew Stewart 11/4/23 (David's notes in red) I had this dream the morning of November 4th. I dreamt that we were in the middle of a regular, local meeting, and David was teaching. But then I had a vision within the dream: It was like the time before the meeting where everybody fellowships. I saw Leon was resurrected and sitting in a chair with his usual expression on his face. And I thought, “Leon's back!” Then I looked over and saw another man that had gone to heaven sitting there as well. In the dream I knew him, but when I woke up, I didn't remember who he was. Then I looked and saw Eve sitting in a chair, very meek, reserved and humble. I remember thinking that “They're all back! They're all coming back!” (And it happened at a local meeting.) Then I turned and looked into the center of the room where there was a commotion going on. I went over there, and Amber was slowly physically materializing from the ground up. After she was fully formed, she said hi to me and I said hi back and everyone was excited. So I went to look for Eve and she was getting ready to leave to go back to her place to do some work for the ministry. So I followed her and her work place was in outer space. (A job “in heavenly places in Christ.”) It was a big floating house in outer space (Cyber space), from which you could go there freely without a spaceship or special equipment to breathe. So I followed her up into space to her house and she went to work on a computer to get something done for the ministry. And I thought to myself, “This is cool!” (Notice that Eve is higher up the timeline than the rest of us because at the moment she is further into the future on the same believing timeline than the rest of us. Eve already has her new body which we will have in the future. To prove this she was going to come to our meeting and she was late. We were already worshipping and I was guiding her in, speaking to her in the spirit, which we both have a gift to do. I told her which roads to take which were just two and what road to turn on to come to the address of the property, which was clearly marked on the front of the building. We were worshipping as I talked to her in my mind, which can also be done with words. There were many cars out front and we were pretty loud inside. She said, I am there looking at the address on the building and no one is there. I said, can't you hear the noise and see all the cars. She said there are no cars and no noise and no one is there. I walked out of the meeting in front of everybody and out the front door and saw no Eve. She said I am here at the same address and street. What the Lord told me was that until we got our new body we would not be in the same time even though we were on the same timeline. She was ahead of us in heavenly maturity as far as her body was concerned. Also she has tried to come to my house to talk to me and Michael 3 times. I would ask her where she was because it was taking too long. She would identify things along the way showing she was getting closer. Then I would ask her “where are you now?” because she should have been here. She found herself back at her apartment vehicle and all and we both were confused. At the out-resurrection, they and us, will all be at the same time and on the same timeline because we will all have the same body at the restoration of all. Then the vision ended and David was still teaching. So I raised my hand to tell David the vision I just had, but David told me to wait until he was done with his teaching. Then I woke up. (This is showing when the teaching with the former rain anointing is over the Man-child will be resurrected spiritually to the throne to begin the latter rain anointing of the Soloman Man-child.) When speaking or thinking a conversation with people in the Spirit it is very clear even when speaking to someone on the other side of the earth or in heaven or in hell. This is the only way to speak to our missionaries in a Muslim land that is not dangerous for them because they hack their phones and emails. The angels told us they were going to give us supernatural methods to get the gospel out in the near future. It is happening. I spoke to Amber in heaven. She told me to tell Brandy she is coming soon. Only once have I seen an interruption of this gift and it was God ordained. I was trying to speak to leaders on the unbelieving cursed timeline and they couldn't hear me. This happened with Jesus also. I found out later that the fleshly carnal men on that timeline who were traitors are strengthened when you acknowledge them. This we found out with Kevin when he came back we had to ignore and renounce him so he died as God said. The old man must die for the spiritual man on the believing timeline to live. “As the outer man is decaying the inner man is renewed day by day.” “Reckon your selves to be dead” “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body”.) Amber's Return Flight Anna Stewart 11/19/23 (David's notes in red) My dream started before Amber had died. I had no knowledge in the dream that she had ever died. She was sick but still able to move around for herself. She took a flight somewhere and was now soon scheduled to return. (From heaven) We were discussing who would pick her up from the airport. I volunteered to go but Debbie said she'd pick her up since she'd already be there (Meaning Debbie would be back home with us to pick up Amber. She just came back from her trip to see family. So Amber will be here soon with the rest of the out-resurrection.) We agreed but then I was attacked with thought that her flight might be delayed. I cast those thoughts down and thought, “No, she is going to arrive on time with no delays.” Well she definitely took a flight to heaven, but praise God she's coming back! And it appears this will be soon? If nothing else, I believe it is an encouragement that's she's coming and to cast down any thoughts of it being delayed. May we all be counted worthy to see this thing through to the end! Deb Horton: Time also exhibits the characteristics of both a wave and a particle. Example: As soon as you say, "Now," you are in your future and your "now" is your past, so technically, everything that can ever happen in creation is happening all at the same time, which perfectly supports the concept of different timelines and holding fast by faith to the promise. So in other words, Amber is already returned. The problem is that we have to have the eyes to see her at this time. I think Anna's dream (and many other dreams) are helping us to see this now! May the Father multiply our faith as the stars of heaven! In Jesus' Name, amen. “Amber IS Going to Arrive on Time” Deb Horton Some 50 or so years back, I simultaneously experienced two timelines running at different speeds. Here's what happened. Our neighbors down the street, Sue and Denny, were going to give us the swing set that their children had outgrown and so Denny called to let me know that he would be coming over with it that morning. The phone rang. I picked up the receiver and said, “Hello.” I heard Denny say, “Hi, this is Deh...” and I was gone, thrown out of my body. I found myself standing under the shadow of what I just assumed was the wing of an airplane. There was barely enough light to see more than shadows and the wind was just howling and groaning. (Yes, that's the classic description of the astral plane.) I don't know why I wasn't scared to death. Everything around me was either concrete or tarmac and I was in the middle of speaking with some man. Well, not speaking. We had to shout over the noise of the wind. There was only one other man that I knew named Dennis back from when I lived in D.C., and although I couldn't really see who this man was, that's who I thought it was. We had to have been talking for at least three to four hours when I heard, “nee,” the second syllable of Denny's name. I was back in the kitchen with the telephone receiver in my hand like nothing had happened. Next to no time had elapsed. As David likes to say, “God always starts on time to finish on time.” Cutting The Python Marie Kelton 11/20/23 (David's notes in red) During the morning meeting, David was talking about the two timelines and that in the bad timeline the people are dead to God's ways. I had an open vision of a python with half of its body coiled up. The other half with the head was lying on the ground dying. I then saw a hand holding a cleaver knife; it cut the body connected to the head apart from the coiled part of the body. (The part of the body with the mouth and teeth is the unbelieving bad timeline who are the factious and other failed people who will eventually die off under the curse for lack of faith and good confession. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Mat 12:36 ASV And I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.) A factious woman we know is on the bad timeline and thinks it's the only timeline until God took her to hell and showed the factious satanist leaders and their head Kevin burning in hell. She was told this was her timeline end if she didn't repent. Alternate Time Island Anonymous 11/20/23 (David's notes in red) In my dream I was on this desert island with David Eells and we would somehow translate on and off the island to normal land. It was really nice having this, like a private island and freedom. However, a couple that fell into faction were also on the island and we could see them but they couldn't see us, even if we stood next to them. Deb: (Luk.16:26) And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that they that would pass from hence to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from thence to us. We saw them moving around and living on the island but where they were was all dark colors and the parts of the island they moved on, was as if it were a different island with thorns and not nice colors and difficult areas; the land seemed dark and cursed and haunted. Deb: (Heb.6:7) For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: (8) but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned. But the island we were on was colored and beautiful and not cursed, even though this was the exact same island the factious couple were on. I felt that they didn't even want to be able to see us, and they couldn't at all, but we could see them. They were not able to get off the island, they were stuck on it, but David and I could freely leave the island as we desired. (The island had all the opportunities of Quantum Physics and if you see and believe you will receive but they can only see their cursed timeline. 2Co 4:3-4 ASV And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish: 4 in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them.) It was kind of like two different realities but as one. The two of us had the choice to see both realities as we desired, but the factious couple could only see the one they were in and they had no knowledge or understanding of anything else. (They believe they are in the only timeline but they don't know it ends in hell.) Multiple Shifting Timelines Deb Horton: I am not the best explainer but here goes. If nothing is fixed/set/real/manifested (choose your word) until it is observed and believed, then all possibilities have to exist simultaneously. The cat has to be alive, and the cat has to be dead, and the cat never has to have been in the box, and the cat has to be having kittens in the box, and the cat has to be a yellow tabby, and the cat has to be a calico, and so on. Every possibility of the cat has to be there to meet the expectation of every possible observer being either positive or negative. Interestingly, multiple timelines seem to be appearing in movies. For example, Angel Studios has released “The Shift” as “a modern-day retelling of the book of Job. Kevin Garner gets separated from Molly, the love of his life, when a mysterious adversary known as The Benefactor sends him to an alternate dystopian reality. Will hope and faith be enough to find his way back? See The Shift in theaters December 1st.” And the Deep State media has released another movie about timelines called “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” The NPR movie review says: “Multiverses are having something of a moment, popping up in recent movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home and upcoming ones like Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. It's refreshing, then, to get a new multiverse movie this week that doesn't spring from the world of comic-book superheroes. It's called Everything Everywhere All at Once — an apt title for a movie that imagines the existence of thousands of alternate timelines, featuring thousands of alternate versions of ourselves.” So the Bible is (no surprise) correct. (Deu.30:19) I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, (Choose to believe the good timeline that agrees with promises in the Word.) that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed; (20) to love Jehovah thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. (Eze.12:2) Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house. (Luk.8:10) And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to the rest in parables; that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. And I think this explains, (Psa.82:6) I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High. (7) Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes. We are co-creators of our life based on what we choose to believe.

So we're hoping this episode lives up to the hype.We talked about any and everything. And managed to fit in some OOH along the way
David Souter is one of the most private, low-profile Justices ever to have served on the Supreme Court. He rarely gave interviews or speeches. Yet his tenure was anything but low profile. Deemed a “home run” nominee by the George H. W. Bush Administration, Souter refused to answer questions during his confirmation hearing about pressing issues—most critically, about abortion rights and Roe v. Wade, which Republicans were seeking to overturn. He was confirmed overwhelmingly. Then, in Planned Parenthood v. Casey and other decisions, he defied the expectations of the Party that had nominated him. Why? This episode, produced by WNYC Studios' “More Perfect” and hosted by Julia Longoria, explains how “No More Souters” became a rallying cry for Republicans and how Souter's tenure on the bench inspired a backlash that would change the Court forever. When I owned a gym and someone would train with me for a while, lose weight, and start to lose motivation.. I would ask them to pick up a kettlebell weighing anywhere from 30 pounds to 80 and ask them to carry it around the gym… from exercise to exercise, they must carry it at all times… when they would finally put up a hissy fit I would ask them… if you quit working out, YOU WILL Gauranteed gain back the weight you took off which is how much you are carrying around today… so do you want to go back to carrying this weight around every day 24/7? And consider it… hey wake up, this is what he did and this is what you need to do! So lets take a week to look at shaming the hinderances that so easily drag you down from being who you are meant to be… it might get ugly, but you will be better for it. And there are 3 basic foundational hinderances I am going to hit… and I mean HIT! Because they build on each other. We will go after the first one tomorrow and it is GOING TO CHURCH…. HANGING WITH STRONG GODLY MEN… READING AND PRAYING FOR AMMO TO LIVE PART 2 HEBREWS 12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. First H - Going to church A recent survey by Ellison Research found that 31% of men never attend church even on holidays - WHY? 1. THEIR FATHERS DIDN'T ATTEND CHURCH “Many men give their sons the impression that the church is not a place for real men by stereotyping Christian men as passive, effeminate, and henpecked – qualities no man desires,” says Frederick Davis, assistant pastor of the Almeda Church of Christ in Houston, TX. “As a result of their macho posturing, these men are inadvertently teaching their sons that church is only for women and wimps, and propagating new generations of unchurched men.” A man's lackadaisical attitude towards church attendance can influence his children's perceptions of religion. This behavior is especially destructive if the man has a son. It is difficult for a mother to convince her son that attending church is important if her husband invalidates her arguments by sleeping late on Sundays. “I would always wonder why my mom made me go to church when my father didn't,” says Andre Ligon, a 40 year-old lawyer. “I didn't think church was important because he never went.” 2. THEY HAVE TO WORK As companies downsize and lay-offs lurk around every corner, men feel compelled to work as much as they can to provide some measure of security for their families. Neglecting their own spiritual growth is a small sacrifice for men who desire to keep their families out of dire straits. George O'Neil, Sr., 63, retired, concurs. “When I got married and had children, I had to stop going to church as much as I used to because I had to get a steady job. I worked whenever I could get something which often meant on Sundays,” O'Neil said. “Something had to give -unfortunately, it was church.” 3. TOO MANY COLLECTIONS With rising unemployment, higher taxes, and other financial woes, the last thing any man wants to see when he goes to church is a pastor with his hand out asking for more than his fair share of his income. “I couldn't take it anymore,” says Paul Johnson, a 52 year-old mailroom supervisor. “Before I could put my wallet away from the first offering, a battalion of collection plates would bombard me again. At one point, I thought I'd have to start paying admission. 4. SERVICES ARE TOO LONG AND INFLEXIBLE Kenneth Davis, a 53-year old teacher, is a football fanatic. He loves to watch games from the kickoff until the finally seconds tick away; however, going to church usually spoils his plans. “By the time they're done with announcements, hymns, and excruciatingly long sermons, it's almost halftime,” Davis says. “I know that going to church is important, but I like some time on Sundays to relax and do what I like to do.” Reverend John L. Hart, acknowledges that services are sometimes too long, but he attributes it to waning church attendance. “It's true that we sometimes have too many things going on during service, but the pulpit is challenged to get in as much as possible because Sunday is the only day we see most the men we do have,” he said. 5. THEY HAVE LOST FAITH IN GOD OR DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD Men who grew up with a firm religious foundation have an easier time coping with adversity, but a test of faith sometimes can be enough to send even the most faithful servant fleeing from the fold. Dwayne Monroe, for example, was a model Christian. As a teenager, Monroe never missed a chance to worship the Lord. He attended Sunday school, Bible study, and was the pioneer of his church's youth ministry. But his faith was tested when his father grew ill with prostate cancer. Monroe, whose mother died in a car accident, prayed daily for the Lord to heal his father, but to no avail. The elder Monroe died when his son was seventeen leaving the frightened child parentless. Feeling the Lord had forsaken him, Monroe cut all ties with his church and has not been back since. “I was always so faithful,” says the 26-year-old sales clerk. “But God took both of my parents from me and left me all alone. How could a God I'd been so faithful to leave me all alone?” But he is only one of a swelling rank of men who refuse to accept the concept of an Almighty God. “I have never seen any physical evidence of God's existence,” said James Turner, a 37 year-old engineer. “We're taught to be logical in all aspects of our lives, but when it comes to religion, we are supposed to throw our logic out of the window and rely solely on faith. I'm sorry, but I just can't do that. Besides, if there were really a God, do you think the world would be so screwed up?” Reverend Clarence James, lecturer and author of a series chronicling African-American history, culture, and involvement in the Christian church, understands their dilemma. “Given the state of America, I can empathize with the men who refuse to believe that God would allow this country to become such a rancid place. But things can only get worse if our men stop believing and lose faith,” James said. “All I can do is ask non-believers to come to church one Sunday. Hopefully, we will say something or they will see something that will convince them that God is alive and working in their lives.” 6. THE CHURCH IS HYPOCRITICAL Immoral behavior such as sexual misconduct and embezzlement by ministers and church leaders were cited as reasons why men avoid the church. “I was appalled by all the backbiting and pettiness at my former church,” says Eric Townshend, a 22 year-old student. “Those people were supposed to be Christians, but they sure didn't act like Christians. I feel that I exhibit the tenets of Christianity outside of church much better than many of those people who attend church religiously.” While Hart acknowledges the hypocrisy in the church, he believes that it should not deter men from attending. “There are many untrue images in the church, but people must realize that their commitment should be to Christ rather than the people who comprise the church. People often believe that Christians are supposed to be perfect when in fact, we aren't,” Hart said. 7. INSENSITIVE PULPIT Several of the men interviewed for this piece agreed that the church is unsympathetic to their plights. Since many men attend church to mend their battered egos, they get upset when the minister adds insult to injury by attacking them in his sermon. “I admit that men are victims of an insensitive pulpit,” Hart said. “Historically, we (ministers) have spewed unintended condemnations toward men. Now they are rebelling against the church by not showing up.” Whereas, it is difficult to rebel against employers or other authority figures in their lives without negative consequences, insurgence against the church is easier because the consequences are not so immediate. “By not attending church, men feel powerful and in control because they are finally able to challenge authority and get away with it,” James says. “All any man wants to hear is that he is doing a good job. The church needs to be more sensitive to that fact.” Second H - Being with Godly men Third H - Spending time with Christ

Sean Souter came to visit Denver with very little expectations and a willingness to explore whatever Evan Fitzgerald put in front of him. This podcast was done on Sean's last day in Denver and was created to capture his experience here in the Mile High City. Evan used to ride for Sean's skateboard company Talentless Skateboards and the two had a blast skateboarding all around a new city, going to see music and exploring the Denver comedy scene. Sean offers his review of Denver, and we tell a few stories from our adventures together. Evan and Sean are joined by Christian Queen and Laura Lundsten on this episode to give Sean the full Slaughterhouse experience.
Monday, 14 November 2022 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. Acts 11:28 The previous verse noted the prophets who had come down from Jerusalem to Antioch. Luke continues that thought now, saying, “Then one of them, named Agabus.” This person, Agabus, is said to be one of the prophets. His name may come from the Hebrew agav, or love. But it seems more likely it comes from the Hebrew word khagav, meaning a grasshopper or locust. This was considered a clean insect that could be eaten by the Jews according to Leviticus 11:22. The word is used four more times in the Old Testament to indicate a comparison in size (Numbers 13:33 & Isaiah 40:22), a heavy burden (Ecclesiastes 12:5), and a devourer of the land that has been sent by the Lord (2 Chronicles 7:13). As for Agabus, Luke next says that he “stood up.” Rather, it is an aorist participle. It more appropriately reads, “having stood up.” In other wordsworrds, Luke sets him apart from the other prophets in order for him to make a prophecy. Agabus, having stood up, then “showed by the Spirit.” The word translated as “showed” is a verb that speaks of a sign, sémainó. In other words, he “signified” by the Spirit. He gave a word that was to be taken as a sign that something would come to pass. This coming event was “that there was going to be a great famine.” The reason for reporting this now will be seen in the coming verses, but other reasons which go unstated are that the New Covenant church, not Israel under the law, is given the word by the Spirit. It also shows that the famine which is coming could be prepared for by the church, both spiritually and physically, so that it would be able to continue and flourish. As for the famine itself, it is next said to be coming “throughout all the world.” The Greek word epi, or upon, is used. The famine will come “upon all the world.” In saying “world,” it is to be understood that this is referring to the known world, meaning the Roman Empire at this time. As Souter states, it is “the land that is being inhabited, the land in a state of habitation, the inhabited world, that is, the Roman world (orbis terrarum), for all outside it was regarded as of no account.” Souter's evaluation of this is further confirmed by the next words, which say, “which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.” Claudius Caesar ruled over the Roman Empire. Hence, the focus is on that part of the world at large. The prophesied famine could be an isolated one and yet still be a fulfillment of this prophecy because a lack in one area of the empire would cause a disruption over the entire empire. This is something that occurs throughout the world today. One nation may have a time of famine which then extends out even to countries that are not facing a famine because the supply lines of other things become disrupted. Despite this, Albert Barnes gives a highly detailed explanation of four famines that came upon the Roman Empire during the reign of Claudius – --------------------------------------- In the days of Claudius Caesar - The Roman emperor. He began his reign in 41 a.d., and he reigned for 13 years. He was at last poisoned by one of his wives, Agrippina, who wished to raise her son Nero to the throne. During his reign no less than four different famines are mentioned by ancient writers, one of which was particularly severe in Judea, and was the one, doubtless, to which the sacred writer here refers: (1) The first happened at Rome, and occurred in the first or second year of the reign of Claudius. It arose from the difficulties of importing provisions from abroad. It is mentioned by Dio, whose words are these: "There being a great famine, he (Claudius) not only took care for a present supply, but provided also for the time to come." He then proceeds to state the great expense which Claudius was at in making a good port at the mouth of the Tiber, and a convenient passage from thence up to the city (did, lib. Ix. p. 671, 672; see also Suetonius, Claudius, cap. 20). (2) a second famine is mentioned as having been particularly severe in Greece. Of this famine Eusebius speaks in his Chronicon, p. 204: "There was a great famine in Greece, in which a modius of wheat (about half a bushel) was sold for six drachmas." This famine is said by Eusebius to have occurred in the ninth year of the reign of Claudius. (3) in the latter part of his reign, 51 a.d., there was another famine at Rome, mentioned by Suetonius (Claudius, cap. 18), and by Tacitus (Ann., John 12:43). Of this, Tacitus says that it was so severe that it was deemed to be a divine judgment. (4) a fourth famine is mentioned as having occurred particularly in Judea. This is described by Josephus (Antiq., book 20, chapter 2, section 5). "A famine," says he, "did oppress them at the time (in the time of Claudius); and many people died for the lack of what was necessary to procure food withal. Queen Helena sent some of her servants to Alexandria with money to buy a great quantity of grain, and others of them to Cyprus to bring a cargo of dried figs." This famine is described as having continued under the two procurators of Judea, Tiberius Alexander and Cassius Fadus. Fadus was sent into Judea, on the death of Agrippa, about the fourth year of the reign of Claudius, and the famine, therefore, continued probably during the fifth, sixth, and seventh years of the reign of Claudius. See the note in Whiston's Josephus, Antiq., book 20, chapter 2, section 5; also Lardner as quoted above. Of this famine, or of the want consequent on the famine, repeated mention is made in the New Testament. --------------------------------------- Life application: Context is the main thing to consider when evaluating a passage. To take an idea out of its intended context will lead to a false understanding (a pretext) of what is actually being said. Because of the use of the Greek word translated as “world” in this verse, one could then say that “the Bible is only speaking of the Roman Empire” at other times as well. In such an evaluation, all kinds of false ideas about who is to be evangelized, the duration of the evangelization of the gospel, and so on, will arise. Paul uses the same term translated as world in Romans 10:18 saying that the gospel has gone out to “the ends of the world.” Therefore, the logic might be that the words of Jesus about preaching to all nations have been fulfilled. But Paul's point concerns the Jews having heard the word concerning Jesus and why the message would go out to the rest of the world after their national rejection of the Him. By taking thoughts like this out of their proper context, incredibly bad theology has arisen concerning the sharing of the gospel (or even if there is only one gospel), end times events, and so on. There is a job to do, it is to be done over the face of the entire planet and to all people groups and all nations, and it is inexcusable that people sit on their hands and avoid their responsibilities simply because of such poor interpretation of Scripture. Context is king, so keep things in their intended context. Be sure to stay away from any teaching that puts the burden on someone else or some other timeframe for the gospel to be shared. It is our responsibility to share the gospel, the one and only gospel, with all people at all times. As for national Israel, they will eventually accept it as well. The book is written, and it will come to pass. As for individuals, speak! They need Jesus. Gracious and merciful God, thank You for Your wonderfully good news, the gospel, that comes through faith in the full, final, and forever work of Jesus Christ our Lord. Praise to You forever and ever for what You have done. We are reconciled to You through Him! Hallelujah and amen.

Suffer Not Jezebel (Audio) David Eells - 10/2/22 We received this verse in our morning meeting on 9/13/22: Rev.2:18 (in context 18-29) And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like unto burnished brass: 19 I know thy works, and thy love and faith and ministry and patience, and that thy last works are more than the first. 20 But I have this against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Jezebel, who calleth herself a prophetess; and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. (There are many churches that allow Jezebel to rule.) 21 And I gave her time that she should repent; and she willeth not to repent of her fornication. (She is a fornicator because she receives the seed of the world and not of her Husband, Jesus.) 22 Behold, I cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of her works. (Notice: Those who support Jezebel must repent or they will die.) 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works. 24 But to you I say, to the rest that are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, who know not the deep things of Satan, as they are wont to say; I cast upon you none other burden. 25 Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come. 26 And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations: 27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to shivers; as I also have received of my Father: 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. (I believe it is a sign that the left will come against the apostate Church now with death and destruction. Many will lose their spiritual leaders in judgment. Jezebel and her children will be judged.) Jezebel Overcome by Christ's Nature in Us Claire Pienaar - 8/25/22 (David's notes in red) (Claire means brilliant and she represents the Bride of Rev 19 who is dressed in the lampros or “brilliant” garment, which are the righteous acts of the saints). I dreamed Riaan and I and our children were travelling through a wilderness in our silver van (The first fruits Man-child and Bride bodies are in a wilderness and their fruit is with them, maturing as they go through it). (The silver van represents the vessels of the Bride and Man-child that are being refined as silver in their wilderness trials. Mal. 3:3 and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer unto Jehovah offerings in righteousness.) We'd been travelling for days and we were in the final hour of reaching our destination. (The Man-child and Bride are in the final stages of their journey to sanctification.) We were very dusty and dirty after this trip. (The Man-child and Bride have been drug through the mud by their crucifiers in Father's process of sanctification and death to self.) We approached a hair salon and Riaan said, “You can go make yourself ready now”. I had some dead ends I wanted cut off of my hair. (The hair salon represents our process of learning submission to the Word. This is how we “make ourselves ready” for our heavenly husband, Jesus. The “dead ends” on the Brides hair represent our old rebellious nature that must be trimmed away so that we are in total submission to Christ.) We walked into the hair salon and I prayed from the moment we stepped into the salon. It was packed to capacity with clients. All the waiting people were lined up in pink chairs. (Pink is the color of love. Jesus said to His disciples in, John 14:15 If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.) I thought to myself, “This isn't going to happen. I've probably just got to turn around and leave”. (We know when we need to cut off the dead or unrighteousness parts of our lives, by the Holy Spirit's prompting. We don't always want to have patience and wait on the Lord and our flesh hates the pruning. But the Lord can do a quick work of cleaning up His elect). Just then the hairdresser said to me, “You can come over here”, and pointed to a chair in front of a large mirror. (We have to see Christ in the mirror in order to overcome Jezebel.) Suddenly, an old lady got up and started fighting with me for taking her spot. She was very angry but proper, and learned. She was being so ugly to me. (This old lady represents the following spirits and fleshly behaviors: of self-will, domineering, and prideful). I explained that I am doing as the stylist said, and then I started defending myself and I said things like, “We've travelled so far” and “my kids are with me, so I don't want them in here for any longer than they need to be”. This old lady was spitting with anger now. Then she said something really derogatory about where we come from and about my children. At that point I pushed her, told her to stop, and then I walked out of the salon. (We must resist the Jezebel nature.) As we got into the van, I was overcome with guilt and condemnation. I confessed to Riaan that I thought I was wrong, and I needed to go back to the old lady and repent for losing my temper with her. (We get in trouble if we pity the old man.) We drove to the old lady's home and waited for her to return from the salon. (I think the fact that I knew where the old lady lived is a sign that we all know the root causes of our sin. It's generational, passed down from Adam.) When she came, I immediately ran up to her, and apologized. I noticed that she was now milking the push I had given her for all it was worth. She'd made her face up with some acting make-up to enhance the scrape, to look like she'd been banged up. (The old man and Jezebel loves to manipulate us into letting them live.) I listened to her wild accusations about me. As she accused me, more and more people appeared and watched us from a small amphitheater. (We are always being watched to see how we are going to handle our trials. Since Jezebel is a worldly spirit, she will have plenty of support from worldly people, so we should not let her live.) Then I started praying in the Spirit and from that point on, I was completely amazed. The old lady started groveling to me but could not get the words “I am sorry” out of her mouth. It was hard to watch because even though her tone was one of being sorry, she couldn't even mouth the words. (Jezebel cannot be reformed, she has to die.) Then she went over to a side table and pulled out her judge's robe and a yellow sash and dressed up in it. She told me all her accomplishments and her lineage and her status. (Jezebel is proud and judgmental and cannot repent.) As she spoke, I continued praying and she became smaller and smaller and her voice was quieter and quieter. (We must intercede and do spiritual warfare in order to defeat the Jezebel spirit.) She also became more fumbling and bumbling and right at the end she looked like she was overcome with memory loss or dementia as she didn't now where she was or who she was. She walked out of the filled amphitheater started emptying, with the people who had congregated to hear her, downcast and embarrassed by her defeat. ... Then I woke up. I listened to a teaching from David Eells called “Enduring in your faith Part 1” on YouTube. I believe the teaching is exactly what this dream is about. The Bondage of Jezebel Tianna M. - 8/9/22 (David's notes in red) In my dream I had been traveling around to all different places in this modern time, talking about Jesus, speaking from my heart how I know Him and speaking The Word to “Christians” and unbelievers, through the power of Christ's Spirit. I remember The Spirit saying to someone The Gospel of how Jesus bore all sin, curse, sickness and death so we wouldn't have to and that we are 100% dead and all that is left, is Jesus in us and nothing can hold Jesus, nothing can hold us, not even death because Jesus lives in us. I had been moving in a medium size town and all of a sudden, I appeared (as if translated) in front of an old-fashioned train that was the size of a bus. It seemed as if I had gone back in time. I walked inside and there were all these people seated and a woman leading or conducting the train (This represents Jezebel). Which I thought was weird because the period of time I was in, men were leaders and women were in their proper place as helpers. (More so than in this modern world). I was wondering why I was here and what was going on. All of a sudden, a man in chains (Representing the spiritual man being in bondage to Jezebel like an Ahab.) was brought in, he only had a loin cloth on and he didn't say anything. Someone said his name was Enoch, but I felt that he was a strong follower of God. I felt God used him for prophecy and speaking The True Word of God. The lady in charge had the man chained to a poll with his hands tied in front and his feet tied to another pole (The cross was made of two poles). He was tied horizontally and he never said anything. I felt that he was chained up for following Jesus. I heard that if I or anyone desired to be like Jesus and preach the real Jesus then this will happen to them. I didn't want to be a part of this and I was still unsure what was going on but I moved around on the train to a different seat so I wouldn't be noticed. I was worried that this same thing was going to happen to me because I follow Jesus and had been praying to be used in all the giftings of the Spirit in full. (We shouldn't try to hide our lamp light of Christ in us. We are set apart. Persecution will come for following Christ) The train started driving and the lady in charge announced that this man was being sold off to slavery and then death to a rich family (Some men willingly obey Jezebel for the sake of advantage.). I was worried and wondering if this is going to happen to me too. I knew that everyone there knew that I followed Jesus and loved Father God. The train arrived at a small country town and the man was taken off the train, still in chains. I heard that the man (who bought the follower of Jesus) wanted to buy another woman on the train. I was worried that the slave owner would try to buy me too because he valued white, blue eyed, blonde haired women. Everyone else had tan skin, brown eyes and dark brown hair, I was really noticeable, so I went to the back row seats to try and hide. (We can't hide from these spirits. We must fight them with the Word or they will put us in bondage.) Then the lady came back and with some other people tried to grab me to chain me, I instantly thought that, "It's not I that lives but Christ living in me and I am dead to sin and alive unto God in Christ Jesus." (She stood on her faith in the power of the Word and could not be bound!). Although I was there in the physical, none of the people could touch me or grab me let alone chain me. They literally could not do anything. It was really amazing. (We are guilty if we let Jezebel rule us.) So, I thought, “Well, I don't need to stay on this train and felt that God wanted me to get off at this small country town. So, I got off the train and thought, "I wonder what the food is like in this past era of time?” (the Bread of Life). I was expecting it to be better than modern food. I also thought that, because I was back in time, that more people would love Jesus and talk about Jesus. I walked over to the small country shop and spoke to a man and woman that was at the counter. I spoke about our Lord and to my shock they weren't followers of Jesus. I went into the shop to check out all the different foods, with high expectations of it being better than the modern world, but to my surprise they had similar foods available: A wide variety of fried foods and expensive sandwiches. I couldn't understand and was disappointed that the food was overpriced and bad quality and unhealthy like it is in the modern world.(The apostate church has been serving up spiritual junk food for centuries, so they don't know what is right from what is wrong). I then woke up. Don't Let Jezebel Drive Claire Pienaar - 9/4/22 (David's notes in red) I dreamed we were showing my parents where and how we lived. (The parents represent the apostate church and its leadership that we are born out of.) Things were going so well, even though we lived in a large city. It was night time, and we wanted to take them out for a nice meal. We had a really nice, luxury, white vehicle that Riaan drove everywhere. When we told them we were going out, Riaan kindly let my mom drive when she requested it. Riaan and I sat in the back of the car; my mom drove, and my dad sat next to her. Within seconds we knew this was a bad idea. She drove like a speed demon; she nearly killed us multiple times and my dad never flinched. Riaan kept on shaking his head, at one point I started crying. She took us on the strangest roads jumped on and off highways and over-ways, and even drove on tram line tracks with teams coming in the opposite direction. (Riaan: Geraldine means “spear ruler” and represents a Jezebel spirit, it was a mistake by Riaan, and probably due to an Ahab spirit, to give her any control. Jezebel is beguiling and can seem harmless, but she seeks control and will seek to destroy families/couples) Riaan told her nicely and firmly to stop and I did too. She just ignored us. Then when she made the same mistake twice, I said, “Pull over right now. You're done. Stop right this second”. She slowed down and said, “but there is nowhere to stop” I replied, “I don't care if you stop in the middle of the highway, you are DONE.” As she got out, she said things like, “You're being silly; I've been driving like this my whole life”. I replied, “In this country, for driving like that, you'll get locked up. The president will have to get involved if you want to go back home. Never again. Never again”. I went on, “This is worth more than a fine. This is more than $500 worth.” (Riaan: Jezebel needs to be forcefully and with authority (in the Spirit) dealt with especially if that spirit has been in the family for a very long time. Yes, since Eve!) ...Then I woke up. Prophecy of What Will Happen to Jezebel Claire Pienaar - 8/30/22 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was on a big ship at night, and my mom was standing at the helm. She was completely taken over by demons, who were screeching all around her. They lifted up her hands and put big black hooks through them, and they wanted to hang her on a cross. I said, “You can't be your own savior!” but it did not seem as though she heard me or understood me. The ship was rolling with heavy waves. I was so sad for her. (Many try to choose their own cross but our cross is already designed by God and it is obedience to His Word.) (This is what will happen to Jezebel if she tries to come into the ark of rest with the elect of God. Riaan: All of this is currently happening, we were literally on a ship with big waves when Claire had this dream. Claire's parents are spiritually in this boat or ark with us now, referring to household salvation. There are big spiritual waves or attacks. Claire's mom literally struggled with her hands and even mentioned something about the nails of Jesus the other day, but she is also struggling with self-works and Jezebel spiritually. And we know about many other demons.) I received Romans 14:8 as a verse by faith at random for this dream: For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. Testimonies of Overcoming Jezebel: The Discernment to Recognize Jezebel and Overcome Lana Galchenko - 9/1/22 When I received the email last week regarding tonight's study on Jezebel, I started reading the material right away. Not too long after I started reading, my husband, Fio, arrived home and told me that he had gone ahead and not only canceled his hair appointment but he's cancelled all future hair appointments for myself and our family at the local salon where we went. He said this because he has been laid off (I think it was that same day), and because of the angel's commands regarding our finances and excess goods, in combination with other things going on in our household it's a luxury we can do without. Immediately anger took over and I started to attack him. Over the next few days this continued to happen over various things and with each re-occurrence the Lord gave me the grace to recognize that this was Jezebel and that I needed to squash her out of my life. I needed to recognize what was going on and call her out. It didn't take more than about 3 of these episodes for me to start calling her out. (Out loud before my husband I confessed what was going through my mind.) I repented on the spot for what was going on and realizing how absolutely empty my arguments were and that I was seeking things such as self pity, to lower my husband by making him apologize, to control him because he had done something without discussing it with ME and other such petty little things, trying to get me to latch onto, in order to destroy my relationship with him in that moment. (Somewhere in this process I also realized that all these things were tactics to try and bring my husband down a notch before me so that Jezebel could get a foothold and continue to repeat this in me until she could bring him to nothing.) The Lord has been so graceful in taking me through this because I have asked for deliverance of this spirit when I first joined the UBM outreach and I know and see that the Lord has been slowly manifesting this deliverance over the years. This last week He had been giving me deeper and deeper understanding just how subtle she is and how deeply she knows our weaknesses in order to get us to do what she wants all the while using our logic, our nature, our will, our heart's desires, our lusts of the flesh and so on. What I've also come to understand is that being submissive to our husbands is not only a command of the Lord but it's the way He also created women to be women and men to be men (David's book The Tongue Conquers the Curse was very helpful here). I understood that the way men's characters are built, it's very easy to break them, to destroy them, as their helpmeets by criticizing them, by not being on their side, by taking somebody else's side because we logically think our husband is wrong. We don't have to be blind in our submission, we want to be in submission with our eyes wide open because we love them and we don't want to criticize them, we don't want to bring them down, we don't want to manipulate them, instead, we want to lift them up, we want to be a blessing to them, we want to do our part in their lives. I've also found that sometimes I attack him and I can't understand why. I started to realize it's because the enemy uses my weakness to come against my husband in order to try him in fiery trials (trials that in reality I would never wish on him) and by the grace of God he has passed the test every time. My beloved husband, Fio (I can brag on him all day). He has been immensely blessed by the Lord with great wisdom, patience, and dedication to loving me as his wife even though he saw in me the Jezebel that I was, the Jezebel household that I was raised in, the night he first met me. He instantly discerned this and yet the Lord gave him a great love and a great desire and faith in me to take me on as his helpmeet knowing what he would face. In our 6 years of marriage, the Lord has used him to do a great work in me. All this has been an amazing testimony to me as his spouse and such an encouragement to be an overcomer, to get rid of every last trace of that Jezebel spirit; her influence, and any traces of her in my life and my household, with whatever it takes by the grace of God. I hope this encourages and builds up somebody's courage to take a deep look inside to ask themselves why am I arguing? Why am I coming against my head, my beloved? Why do I need to correct him? Should I be correcting? You would never correct your boss, we're not supposed to. And when you start digging one step at a time and being honest with yourself, you find it's because you want control of this particular situation. It's because I was afraid he wouldn't do what I want. It's because I feel bad, pitying myself and I want him to pity me. All these little fleshly desires, and we're destroying the man we are supposed respect and submit to and in turn are crucifying Christ. So God help us all, His grace is unlimited in these trials and He is willing to reach out a hand to deliver every one of us and give us the strength to pass the test every time because he's done it for me. All Glory to God. There were times when I wondered why it is that I was so hard on my husband, as my other half, as somebody whom I should love with all my heart as I love the Lord, and yet I could show more respect to other men. The thought that came to me in response as to why we women feel that we have the right to criticize and bring down, belittle or disrespect our very own husbands, the ones that we consider as our own flesh is: because Jezebel wants us to attack our own body in order that in the end we not only destroy our husband but destroy ourselves in the process. And in that way she has the victory over the entire family. She will bring death to the entire body, since we and our husbands are one flesh, and will have accomplished her goal which is death to the family, death to the unity with God, Christ in us. I have no doubt this understanding is a revelation from God. Deliverance from Jezebel Part:2 Lana Galchenko - 9/4/22 Hello again, Praise the Lord, we have a part 2 to the great deliverance story. After Fio's trip to visit the brethren at UBM in TN, he came home full of joy and a rekindled first love for me. That day I noticed that the Lord had softened my heart and I was no longer shying away from his physical touch throughout the day unlike in the past where this would annoy me because I was too “busy”. That night, after the outreach, we had a chance to talk about these changes and were reminiscing about the night Fio proposed to me almost 7 years ago. One topic led to another and I started to remember, out loud, our time of being an engaged couple and how those memories were still unpleasant, plagued with condemnation, guilt, rejection and fear. During that time, my family had come against me and my passionate love and devotion to Fio. They disapproved of everything we did together and persecuted us for being too much in love. It then hit me that shortly after our wedding, my sisters shared with me how the whole family found our display of affection for one another to be an embarrassment. I had received this curse and had been embarrassed to display or receive affection for my husband, even in private, all these years. We immediately rebuked this curse and I repented of having received it. I felt a need to take a deep breath and exhale and, in that moment, I knew that I have been delivered. All of a sudden I became overcome with a great feeling of love toward my husband and felt very free to express it to him. We were so excited at this revelation and deliverance that we continued to talk. I then remembered that a few years back, two of my sisters and I had sat down for a “heart to heart” where they just laid it out on me: my shortcomings while growing up, corrections, and advice. I had received everything they had told me and had asked for their forgiveness at the time in attempt to help bring us sisters into unity again. I remember that I had reflected on the conversation later and found that I didn't agree with them at all but figured no harm done. This night I realized that Jezebel had effectively given herself access to me through these (and possibly other) ”sisterly corrections” and thus had continued to rule through me even though I had thought all along that I've done everything I could to repent and get rid of her. How many women realize that when we come into agreement with those of a Jezebel spirit, we are allowing her to have a foothold in our lives and thus become ruled by her? I thank you Father God for revealing this to me and setting me free of Jezebel for good. She is cast off her throne and no longer resides over our household. She is not coming with us to TN, just as the Lord had commanded. I praise our Heavenly Father for the warning and the grace to complete this deliverance. ALL GLORY TO GOD. The Crown of Submission Claire Pienaar - 8/26/22 Riaan and I were driving in the car on a windy, rainy day last week with my folks and he made some decisions I was not immediately in agreement with, that concerned small things like where to have lunch or where to take my folks sight-seeing. I took to praying in the spirit, as I did not want any flesh to come between us. I had slipped up the day before with a similar situation, and had repented. As I prayed in the spirit, I closed my eyes. I received this vision from the Lord: I was kneeling down in front of Jesus, and He placed a crown on my head. He said, “this is the crown of submission”. I was in awe. Then the vision ended. I pray it encourages every woman to put away the tendency to be disagreeable or to voice it out loud but rather cast it down and come in agreement with their head, whether it be a husband or Christ. I am thankful for the opportunities I have to grow in Christ and learn how to cast down my flesh or sin nature. We recommend our book for both Men and Women titled: Word, Women, and Authority The Word is Final Authority for Women by David Eells The devil HATES marriage. He hates God's ordinance of marriage so much that it was the first thing he attacked (Genesis 3:1), because he knows that if he comes between a husband and wife or perverts their roles as man and woman, he has come between their relationship with God. (Psa.11:3) If the foundations be destroyed, What can the righteous do? It is heartbreaking to look at how successful the devil has been in corrupting society from the inside out. (Hos.4:6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children. It did not take generations to do this. Eve, was led astray in the garden. (2Co.11:3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ. What is the answer? (1Jn.2:24) As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father. The answer is to humble ourselves to the Word as originally given. Only that Word is our protection from all the lies and tricks the devil has been using against. I want to examine a very touchy subject for a lot of people, mostly because of tradition but also because of the society that we're in right now, which has become very different from the Bible. I want to examine the position of the Word on women and authority. Too many of God's people have the idea that God changes with society, but He doesn't. (1 Samuel 15:29; Psalm 55:19; Psalm 89:34; etc.) The Bible says, in Psa.119:89 For ever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven. And, in Num.23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good? God doesn't change His mind, even when men do. He's the Rock that we all stand on. His Word is never-changing and He wants to bring Christians back into submission to His Word. It's sad that we've fallen a long ways from God's Will and we have to repent and change our mind, because unless we submit to the Word, we can't get back to God. ... We need to diligently read the Word to find out what is our particular job in our Covenant. We have to make sure that we're someone that would be a blessing to a family, to a husband, to a wife, and not a curse. With that in mind, let's look at what the Bible actually says about the role of women. (Gen.2:18) And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone (Why wasn't it good for Adam to be alone? It's because alone, he couldn't fulfill the command of Genesis 1:28 to be fruitful and multiply.); I will make him a help meet for him. The word translated as “help meet” is the Hebrew ezer and it means just what it says, “a help, helper”; it comes from azar, meaning “help, succor.” ... Easton's Bible Dictionary states, “the Hebrew is ‘ezer ke-nedgo, i.e., a help as his counterpart, a help suitable to him, a wife.” You may say, “That makes it sound like a wife is only a servant!” Well, then let's look at what the Bible has to say about servants. Moses, the greatest prophet of the Old Testament, is referred to as (Deu.34:5) … Moses the servant of God… at least 15 times in the Bible (Joshua 1:1,8:31,12:6,14:7; Revelation 15:3; etc.). And Paul, arguably the greatest of the apostles, referred to himself as (Rom.1:1) Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ… Therefore, being a servant does not make someone less valuable or important to God. Remember that Jesus Himself said, (Mat.23:10) Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, even the Christ. (11) But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. (12) And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted. Of course, God could have divided Adam right down the middle if He wanted to show total physical equality between men and women, but He chose not to do that. (Gen.2:21) And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof: (22) and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from the man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Why a rib? It's the location that makes a rib so special. The ribs surround the chest and protect the heart, so to be “carried in the bosom” (Isaiah 40:11,49:22; Luke 16:22) indicates being protected and cherished, to be hidden in the heart. (Ruth 4:16) And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom (The Hebrew word cheq is translated as both “bosom” and “cherish.”), and became nurse unto it. (1Pe.3:1) In like manner, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, even if any obey not the word, they may without the word be gained by the behavior of their wives; (2) beholding your chaste behavior coupled with fear. (3) Whose adorning let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel; (4) but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit (A woman who desires to be valuable and beautiful in the sight of God cannot be overbearing and domineering, as the spirit of this perverse age is.), which is in the sight of God of great price. That “meek and quiet spirit” was also spoken of Moses, the servant of God. (Num.12:3) Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men that were upon the face of the earth. And that “meek and quiet spirit” is of such great value that Jesus said of Himself, (Mat.11:29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. That means the man “carries” the woman; the woman never “carries” the man. (1Pe.3:5) For after this manner aforetime the holy women also, who hoped in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands: (6) as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose children ye now are, if ye do well, and are not put in fear by any terror. (7) Ye husbands, in like manner, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor unto the woman, as unto the weaker vessel, as being also joint-heirs of the grace of life; to the end that your prayers be not hindered. (Gen.2:23) And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Adam named Eve, but God called the both of them “Adam” because they were one flesh. (Gen.5:1) This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; (2) male and female created he them, and blessed them, and called their (Notice this is in the plural.) name Adam, in the day when they were created. You've probably noticed that very few women are named in Scripture and it seems to imply that women are a subordinate class, or even just property, however that's not the case. When the woman is not specifically named in the Bible, it's because she is “hid,” carried in the bosom, protected and cherished in her husband, as a type of the Church being “hid” in Christ. (Col.3:3) For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. And that means when you name the husband, then you've also named the wife because they are one. Notice also that this creates a set chain of authority. (1Co.11:8) For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man: (9) for neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man: (10) for this cause ought the woman to have a sign of authority on her head… So the Word is saying a woman has delegated authority, and that authority comes through the man. If she is married, her authority comes through her husband; if she is unmarried, her authority comes through her father (Numbers 30). In the book of Esther, since Mordecai raised Hadassah his niece after she was orphaned, her authority came through him (Esther 2:7,20-22). ...What happens when the husband is not “giving honor to the woman”? As we just read, it says that his prayers will be hindered in 1 Peter 3:7. How does that happen? It happens because the husband is supposed to be the priest of his house, but a husband and wife are supposed to be one body. If the husband has in some way cut off or mistreated his wife, if he has not honored his wife, then he has “mutilated” his body. The Hebrew word charam translated as “blemish” in the following passage, is also translated “to mutilate, especially the face … to slit the partition between the nostrils, or the lip, or the lobe of the ear.” Prayers come forth from our lips. (Lev.21:18) For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach... (21) no man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that hath a blemish, shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire… If his body is mutilated, then his prayers are going to be hindered, because it says he can't come near to present “the offerings of the Lord made by fire,” one type of which is prayer. ... You know, folks, unless the commandments of God are ruling in us, we are not really abiding in Christ because, as the Bible says, (1Jn.2:24) As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father. (25) And this is the promise which he promised us, [even] the life eternal. (26) These things have I written unto you concerning them that would lead you astray. Why would God tell us that? He tells us that for our own protection. ... We need to understand that, what we in our self-will consider to be limitations, are there because He loves us and wants to protect us. God has standards that don't change with society because, as you can see, when society changes, it just goes down the tubes. It becomes totally corrupt and swallowed up by the curse. What was fitting and proper 2000 years ago is still right. (Col.3:18) Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. This is not a question of interpretation. This is in black and white and a question of our obedience and respect for God and His Word. If we look at the Greek word translated there as “fitting,” according to Strong's, this is “anḗkō … which means to "come up to a particular standard” or expectation, i.e. to what is proper (fit, becoming) to give what ‘is due or suitable' (Souter); doing what is appropriately acceptable.” Isn't this what Jesus did? (Php.2:5) Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (6) who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, (7) but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; (8) and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross. And isn't this what Jesus said? (Mat.23:11) But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. Jesus is our Example; Jesus should be our Goal. ... Now I understand that there are situations where the husband just will not take the lead, and so the wife feels that she has to, but two wrongs do not make a right. We have a clear command from the Lord. If the wife will pray and believe for her husband to fill that position of authority, and then back-off so that he has to make the decisions, he will learn to take the lead. I've been asked, “So what about husbands who do take their position, but use it very legalistically?” That's still no excuse before the Lord for a wife to disobey her husband. Once again, if the wife will pray and believe for her husband to have a greater understanding of Scripture, the Lord will give him the wisdom he needs. We can trust God. He will honor our prayers for our spouse. It's a sorry state that things are reversed in our society. We're in great corruption right now, because if the husband and wife are not one, if they are not fulfilling their God-ordained roles, then they are a “house divided.” And when a society comes out of God's ordained order, that society is a “house divided” and will not stand. (Mat.12:25) And knowing their thoughts he (This is Jesus speaking.) said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. America is falling apart because of this. (Eph.5:22) Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands … Notice that this doesn't say “unto some women's ministry” or “unto the preacher.” This has broken up a lot of families because preachers thought they had a right to exercise authority over somebody else's wife. It's not permitted. There's nobody more important to the wife than her husband because the Lord is going to deal with the wife through the husband. (Eph.5:22) Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (23) For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, [being] himself the savior of the body. (24) But as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives also [be] to their husbands in everything. (25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it (It's a whole lot easier for a wife to obey her husband when he loves her, because what you sow, you reap {Galatians 6:7-8; 2 Corinthians 9:6}.) … (28) Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself: (29) for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church; (30) because we are members of his body. (31) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. (32) This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church. (33) Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and [let] the wife [see] that she fear her husband. There it is again! There's that chain of command. The relationship of obedience and love that the Church should have to Christ is the same relationship of obedience and love that a woman should have to her husband. When the Church takes the lead, as she has in this day, judgment always comes. This is also true when the wife takes the lead. She is not abiding in the safety and blessing of Christ because she is not abiding in “that which ye heard from the beginning.” Many wives disobey their husbands with the excuse that he is unspiritual or does not obey the Word in some way. Well, the Scriptures cover that situation, too. (1Pe.3:1) In like manner, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, even if any obey not the word, they may without the word be gained by the behavior of their wives. This clearly makes the wife disobedient to the Lord if she is disobedient to her husband and, many times, ends in divorce rather than in winning the husband. It's terrible that married couples are being advised by apostate leaders to divorce for reasons such as incompatibility, or mental cruelty, or weight gain, or substance abuse, etc. other than fornication. Even pastors are getting divorced for reasons other than fornication. But the whole point is that, if we will obey the Lord, God will bless us. In many cases, neither the husband nor the wife are obeying the Lord and so there's no blessing, no favor or grace from God, in the family. …Also, being married to an unbeliever is not grounds enough to leave them; only if they leave are you free. (1Co.7:12) But to the rest say I, not the Lord: If any brother hath an unbelieving wife, and she is content to dwell with him, let him not leave her. (13) And the woman that hath an unbelieving husband, and he is content to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband. (14) For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. (15) Yet if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such [cases]: but God hath called us in peace. There are a lot of unscriptural marriages out there, and many of them have been caused because both people were rebellious. They came together and couldn't make it work, but they wouldn't repent and submit to the Lord, they wouldn't confess their sin, they wouldn't give up their bitterness and unforgiveness, and therefore they were turned over to the tormentors. (Mat.18:34) And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due. (35) So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts. And when the marriage became nothing but a torment, they just split up. You may be concerned, thinking, “What can I do if I got married before I came to the Lord?” Don't worry about that, because everything we did before we came to the Lord was sin and we can't go back and do anything about it. (15) Yet if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us in peace. ...[Important Note from the Author: Whether a husband is believing or unbelieving, he can still be very obnoxious, very overbearing, very sinful, and that's very crucifying to the wife but that's not an excuse to leave. In most cases, unless he is asking the wife to willfully sin, there can be submission on her part. However, no one should stay in a situation where their life or the lives of their children are in physical danger. We have permission in such a case to flee (Matthew 24:16; Luke 21:21; etc.) (Gen.19:17) And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the Plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.] Remember that we read in 1Pe.3:1 In like manner, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, even if any obey not the word, they may without the word be gained by the behavior of their wives; (2) beholding your chaste behavior [coupled] with fear. The Greek word there for “fear” is phobos and it is translated in other places as “respect, reverence, sense of awe.” Why does the Lord command the wife to “fear” her husband? The wife must fear her husband, that is, she must respect, reverence, have a sense of awe toward him, because the husband has the Lord's authority. The wife should fear her husband just as the Church should fear Christ, Who is her Husband. (1Pe.3:3) Whose [adorning] let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel; (4) but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible [apparel] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. (5) For after this manner aforetime the holy women also, who hoped in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands: (6) as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord… The wife is not to go around the authority of the husband. ...Today people think that God has put women in positions of authority in the Church because the men won't do their job, but in both the early Church and the Old Testament church, when women came into authority, it was considered a curse. (Isa.3:12) As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they that lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. Very much since the time of World War II, women have taken more and more authority in the Church while men have foolishly acquiesced and, proportionately, both the Church and society around them has become more and more corrupt. I was once asked, “Wasn't there a woman judge in the Old Testament, David?” Yes, there was, but even in the Old Testament it was a shame and a rebuke in Israel for women to manipulate and domineer their husbands, so let's take a look at that particular instance. Deborah (Jdg.4:4) Now Deborah, a prophetess (Note that "prophetess” is not listed as an office of an elder or overseer in the New Testament {Ephesians 4:11}.), the wife of Lappidoth, (And here we see that Scripture is careful to point out she is using the delegated authority of God, which comes through her husband.), she judged Israel at that time. God prophesied through Deborah that a man, Barak, would take the lead to conquer the enemy (Judges 4:6-7). No male judge listed in the same chapters ever had to go find another man to take the lead; they conquered the enemy themselves. Neither Othniel (Judges 3:9), or Ehud (Judges 3:15), or Shamgar (Judges 3:31), or Gideon (Judges 6:14) or Samson (Judges 13:24-25), called anybody else to do their job. And though Barak was the one who insisted that Deborah go with him to the war, he got rebuked and shamed for it. (Jdg.4:8) And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go; but if thou wilt not go with me, I will not go. (9) And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding, the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honor; for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. For a woman to have been given the honor of killing Sisera was not honoring to the man. (Jdg.4:21) Then Jael Heber's wife took a tent-pin, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground; for he was in a deep sleep; so he swooned and died. We can see that again in the story of Abimelech. (Jdg.9:52) And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and drew near unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire. (53) And a certain woman cast an upper millstone upon Abimelech's head, and brake his skull. (54) Then he called hastily unto the young man his armorbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and kill me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died. In our Covenant of the New Testament, God says to us, (1Ti.2:11) Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection. (12) But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man (That's the Greek anér meaning “a male human being; a man, husband.”), but to be in quietness. Although anything a woman speaks to a man that he does not already know could be accounted as teaching, that's too broad an interpretation. For example, there's no verse that says a woman cannot witness what God did for her, as here with Anna. (Luk.2:36) And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity, (37) and she had been a widow even unto fourscore and four years), who departed not from the temple, worshipping with fastings and supplications night and day. (38) And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks unto God, and spake of him to all them that were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. On the other hand, the woman is forbidden to hold the office of an Evangelist. (1Ti.2:13) For Adam was first formed (Reference Genesis 2:21-23.), then Eve; (14) and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression. Satan knows that the woman can be more easily beguiled, and the man can be more easily tempted to follow her, just as it was with Adam. (Gen.3:12) And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. (13) And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. If you look up the Hebrew word nasha, translated there as “beguiled,” you find that the literal meaning is “to lend on interest, be a creditor.” What happened here? The woman was brought into bondage to the serpent; she became a debtor to him. (Gen.3:16) Unto the woman he (This is the Lord speaking.) said, I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy conception; in pain thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire (Strong's says this is “from shuwq in the original sense of stretching out after; a longing – desire.”) shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. The Hebrew word there for “rule” is mashal and it means “have dominion, reign, gain control, govern.” This is the command of the Lord. (Gen.3:17) And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake. Notice the first sin that brought the curse on humanity was the man submitting to his wife instead of the Lord, and do you think it would not bring a curse today? Just as the husband should make it easy for the wife to obey, the wife should make it easy for the husband to be the head, because if he's not, it's going to bring a curse on the entire family. … …The only area where women are allowed to teach is to those women who are older in the Lord. They are called to teach the younger women about things concerning the home, children, and maintaining a right relationship to their husband; no where are they called to teach doctrine. (Tit.2:1) But speak thou (Paul is still addressing Titus here.) the things which befit the sound doctrine: (3) that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good; (4) that they may train the young women to love their husbands … Christ, Who is our Husband, tells us that the only way we can love Him is to keep His commandments, and so it is with the woman and her husband. (Joh.14:15) If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments. (Tit.2:4) That they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, (5) [to be] sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands (Notice the chain of command and delegated authority.), that the word of God be not blasphemed. Under the husband, the woman has authority over the household and the children. (Eph.6:1) Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (2) Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise {Deuteronomy 5:16}). (1Ti.5:14) I desire therefore that the younger [widows] marry, bear children, rule the household, give no occasion to the adversary for reviling. ...People who claim God as their Savior and Lord are going to live their lives like it was laid out in the Scriptures because God is going to restore all things. (Joe.2:23) Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for he giveth you the former rain in just measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, in the first [month]. It's going to happen twice, with the “former rain” and with the “latter rain.” God is going to pour out His Holy Spirit in order to restore all things and the true people of God are going to love to serve Him in agreement with the Word. Interventional Radiologist Dr. Preston Smith and healthcare attorney Patrick Souter join us to discuss strategies for navigating the legal world of non-compete agreements and exclusive contracts. --- EARN CME Reflect on how this Podcast applies to your day-to-day and earn AMA PRA Category 1 CMEs: https://earnc.me/pAxIn5 --- SHOW NOTES First, we review the vocabulary and examples of each type of agreement. Mr. Souter emphasizes that contrary to popular misconceptions, non-compete agreements are enforceable, as long as they are reasonable in scope, geographic location, and time frame. Additionally, he calls attention to “backdoor noncompetes,” which are clauses that, while not officially called “noncompetes,” still restrict a physician's ability to practice medicine in a certain location. These include non-circumvention and non-solicitation agreements. Dr. Smith advises listeners to be wary of any terms that seem far-reaching or unreasonable, and to have a legal professional review the terms of the agreement. Next, we discuss exclusive contracts between large radiology practices and hospitals. While they are legal, they cannot be entered into for antitrust purposes of trying to prevent others from entering the marketplace. Exclusive contracts can serve as a barrier for independently practicing IRs to gain hospital privileges. Mr. Souter advises independent IRs to speak with hospital CMOs and provide reasonable explanations for why their services would be efficient and necessary for quality patient care.
