„Nevíme, jestli si to Írán troufne. října 2023 a humanitární krizi v Gaze.

Neil explores the concept of reality and how our perceptions shape our experiences. He introduces the idea of chaos magic, emphasising that we can manipulate our interpretation of events to create a more positive and beneficial reality for ourselves. Through engaging anecdotes and practical examples, Neil encourages listeners to reframe challenges as opportunities for growth and exploration. He invites them to ask the empowering question, "What's good about this?" when faced with obstacles, highlighting the transformative power of perspective. KEY TAKEAWAYS Reality is Subjective: Our perception of reality can be shaped by how we choose to interpret events and circumstances in our lives. By reframing our thoughts, we can create a more positive and beneficial reality for ourselves. Obstacles as Opportunities: Challenges in business can be viewed either as dead-end threats or as playful searches for solutions. Adopting a positive mindset can motivate us to engage with problems and find constructive outcomes. Ask the Right Questions: When faced with difficulties, asking questions like "What's good about this?" can help shift our perspective and uncover hidden advantages or lessons in challenging situations. Interpretation Matters: The way we interpret events, such as a student quitting lessons or experiencing physical discomfort, can significantly affect our emotional response and overall outlook. Finding the silver lining can lead to personal growth and resilience. Play with Your Reality: Embrace the idea that you can manipulate your perception of reality like plasticine. Experimenting with different interpretations can lead to a more enjoyable and fulfilling life experience. BEST MOMENTS "One of the things I'm very interested in is chaos magic. Clinical data holds that unresolved trauma rewires relational neural circuitry, triggering threat responses in safe contexts (Carnes, Rothschild). Quantum metaphysics and Thomas Campbell's Theory of Everything reveal that every avoidance, deception, or shortcut adds entropy to this relational matrix—an energetic entropic residue that buys you momentary ease and costs you long-term clarity and coherence.

As I tell Gabrielle in the following interview, when a new Gabrielle Brady film emerges into the world, it is like the arrival of a gift, one that pulls us into a mindset of considering the lives of others, including those of the crabs of Christmas Island, or maybe the horses of the Gobi Desert. It's one that encourages us to see the world of truth differently. That notion of truth is something I've asked filmmakers a lot lately, and I'm conscious of its almost accusatory nature, as if documentary filmmaking must adhere to one True Reality. But it's impossible. The truth can never be captured on screen, and truth is in itself a falsity. After all, as soon as you put a camera on an event, or slice it with an editing suite, or apply a score to it, you are skewing reality away from the truth. Documentary storytelling is, by its own creation, not the truth. Yet, the emotions that we're left with and the memories that linger in our mind after the film has long played out, become a source of truth. Yet, as I slip into this spiral a little further, it's clear that co-authored filmmaking like that of Gabrielle Brady's exists to explore versions of the truth, to bring stories of subjects and collaborators to life, and to enrich our collective world. These notions are underpinned by Gabrielle's choice to study at the prestigious La Escuela Internacional de Cine in Cuba, a place which fosters the notion to 'defend the rights to ones own image' and to 'liberate the viewer's gaze'. These are ideas that I ask Gabrielle about in the following interview, which gives way to an open conversation about her creative process, and what it means to be able to work alongside people like Poh Lin, Davaa and Zaya, and Michael Latham, on her films. This interview was recorded ahead of Wolves' screenings at the Sydney Film Festival on 10 and 12 June. This is a film I urge audiences to see in a cinema, let it overwhelm your senses. Let it change you. If you're interested in reading about how the film changed me, then you can read my review here. In this week's episode, Dr. Fiona Lovely sits down with Kim Casaburi, co-founder of Serotonin Centers, esthetician, and passionate menopause wellness advocate, for a powerful and empowering conversation about reclaiming midlife health through hormone optimization and functional medicine. After facing years of unexplained weight gain, fatigue, and emotional struggles, Kim shares how her search for answers led her to hormone replacement therapy (HRT)—a turning point after being dismissed by traditional medical professionals. She opens up about the medical gaslighting many women face and how she found her vitality again through functional, whole-body care. Kim also dives deep into the connection between hormones and skin health, sharing why aesthetic treatments like microneedling and HydraFacials fall short when hormones are out of balance—likening it to “pouring water into a bucket with a hole.” She explains why testosterone is not just for men and how it supports women's confidence, energy, and emotional resilience. Together, Dr. Lovely and Kim explore the need to shatter outdated medical narratives around menopause, embrace personalized care, and prioritize thriving—not just surviving—in midlife and beyond. What You'll Hear: Kim's personal journey through misdiagnosis and healing The overlooked impact of hormone imbalance on skin and vitality Testosterone: the misunderstood hormone women need too How Serotonin Centers blend HRT, aesthetics, and wellness coaching The stigma around menopause in conventional medicine Why hormone health is a cornerstone of longevity A call to action for women to own their needs and advocate for themselves You can learn more about Kim Casaburi and the services offered at Serotonin Centers by visiting www.serotonincenters.com. Read OnlineLifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: “I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” John 17:20–21Over the past couple of weeks, we have been continually reading from Chapter 14–17 of John's Gospel. These chapters contain Jesus' Last Supper Discourses and provide us with Jesus' last sermon, so to speak. Chapter 17, which we have been reading this past week, presents us with Jesus' final prayer for His disciples and for all of us “who will believe” in Him through the preaching of the disciples. Each time we read from Chapter 17, the Lectionary begins the reading with the phrase “Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying…” That line is an adaptation of Chapter 17:1 but is used to introduce the various parts of the prayer of Jesus each time it is read at Mass. It's interesting that Jesus would look up to Heaven when He prayed. Of course, Heaven is not physically in the sky, because Heaven is a spiritual reality. The Father is not located in some place in the sky but is omnipresent, meaning, present all places and all times. And yet, Jesus raises His eyes upward when He prays to the Father. There is a great lesson in this. Our physical disposition is important, at times. For example, when someone we owe respect to enters a room, we usually rise and greet them. It would be disrespectful to remain lounging on a bed or sofa in that case. And at Mass, we do not sit back with legs crossed during the Consecration; rather, we kneel in adoration. And when we greet someone for the first time, we do not look at the floor; rather, we look them in the eyes.Jesus' act of “Lifting his eyes to heaven” was not done because He thought He might see the Father in the sky; rather, it was done out of respect and love and as a way of acknowledging the dignity of the Father. This should teach us about our own bodily disposition and the message we communicate to others, especially to God in prayer. When you pray, what do you do? Though you can pray at any time and while in any disposition, it is an excellent practice to speak to God not only by your words but also by the disposition you take. Kneeling, raising hands in prayer, falling prostrate before your Lord, sitting upright with attentiveness, etc., are all ways in which you communicate to God your love.Reflect, today, upon this image of Jesus praying. Gaze at how attentive He would have been as He lifted His sacred eyes upward as a physical gesture honoring the glorious, all-powerful Father in Heaven. Try to imagine Jesus' devotion, intensity, respect and burning love. Imitate this holy gesture of prayer and attentiveness to the Father and remind yourself of the importance of expressing your love in bodily form.My most holy Father in Heaven, I do join Your Son, Jesus, in lifting my eyes, my heart and my whole life to You in honor, love and respect. May I always be attentive to You and always show You the devotion due Your greatness. My dear Jesus, thank You for Your love of the Father in Heaven. Give me the grace I need to imitate You and Your perfect love in my life. Jesus, I trust in You.
