This week Pastor Phil continues our two-week series Rearranged with a message on generosity shaped by Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6. He talks about how money can easily become a competing master in our lives, why generosity is not about the amount we have but about what we do with what we have, and how giving frees our hearts from the grip of scarcity and fear.Pastor Phil also teaches that real generosity is shaped by three things Jesus lays out: it isn't about being seen, it isn't a one-time act, and it is always noticed and rewarded by God. He challenges us to adopt a posture of open-handed, consistent generosity—trusting God to provide, investing in what lasts, and living in a way that reflects the hope and kingdom values Jesus calls us to.Send us a text
Welcome to "Lights, Camera, Christmas!" In this series, we step out of the holiday rush to examine the core themes of Advent through the eyes of the Christmas story characters. This week focuses on HOPE. We dive into the prophecy of Isaiah 9:2, 6-7 to understand why Christian hope is a confident certainty—not a fragile wish—because it's anchored in the promised King. Big Idea: Jesus is the promised King who brings certain and confident hope to a world in darkness. The Four Guarantees: We unpack the names of the Messiah—Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace—as guarantees of God's plan. Local Connection: Pastor Tom shares reflections and a clip from his final broadcast with Mark Zimmerman of Heartfelt Radio, illustrating how hope endures through change. Giving Tuesday Opportunity: Please consider supporting our ministry on Giving Tuesday (December 2nd) through Richland Gives.
Arcana Coelestia 1871. I cannot describe how the Lord’s Word appears before angels, but it can be grasped to some extent by people who have seen optical cylinders in museums. These cylinders reflect beautiful images from distorted drawings projected in a circle around them. Although the surrounding drawing appears to have no shape, organization, or pattern but to be simply a confused projection, it presents a lovely picture when focused onto the cylinder. 1 That is how the Lord’s Word is, especially the prophetic part of the Old Testament. Hardly anything can be seen in the literal meaning besides a disorganized jumble; but when it is read by a person on earth (particularly a little boy or girl), it gradually rises up, turning more beautiful and more pleasing as it goes. In the end it presents itself to the Lord as a human figure representing the whole of heaven — not as heaven actually is but as the Lord wishes it to be; in other words, as his likeness. 1. Although one scholar (Potts 1888-1902, under “cylinder”) understands this device to be a kaleidoscope, Swedenborg seems here to be referring to a device called an anamorphoscope, which produces an optical illusion called an anamorphosis. The cylinder is polished (as indicated in similar descriptions in New Jerusalem 260; White Horse 11:4; Spiritual Experiences [Swedenborg 1998-2002] §2164) and acts as a curved mirror; it is set next to a distorted drawing that is composed in such a way that the reflection of the drawing on the surface of the cylinder appears properly proportioned. For examples of anamorphoses from Swedenborg’s time and before, see Leeman and others 1976. (A reflecting cylinder may be seen in plate 53 there.) Further examples, though not of the same historical interest, can be found in McLoughlin Bros. 1979. [SS, LHC] AC 7847. Angelic ideas are of such a nature that natural things bear relation to such things as belong to man. The reason is that the spiritual world or heaven is in the form of a man, and all things of that world, that is, all spiritual things, which are truths and goods, bear relation to this form, as has been shown at the end of many chapters in treating of correspondences. And whereas in angelic ideas natural things become spiritual, so also does a house, which to the angels is the mind of man; the bedchambers and inner rooms being the interiors of the mind; and the windows, the doors, the posts, and the lintels, the exteriors of the mind, which introduce. As angelic ideas are of such a nature, they are also living; and so when the things in the natural world which are dead objects, pass into the spiritual world, they become living objects; for everything spiritual is living, because it proceeds from the Lord. On reciprocity Intercourse of the Soul and the Body 12. [4] Furthermore, unless the understanding could be separately perfected, and the will by means of it, a man would not be a man, but a beast. For without that separation, and without the ascent of the understanding above the will, he would not be able to think, and from thought to speak, but only to express his affection by sounds; neither would he be able to act from reason, but only from instinct; still less would he be able to know the things which are of God, and God by means of them, and thus to be conjoined to Him, and to live to eternity. For a man thinks and wills as from himself, and this as from himself is the reciprocal of conjunction; for there cannot be conjunction without a reciprocal, just as there cannot be conjunction of the active with the passive without reaction. God alone acts, and man suffers himself to be acted on, and he reacts in all appearance as from himself, though interiorly it is from God. Divine Love and Wisdom 49. With respect to God: it is impossible for Him to love others and to be loved reciprocally by others in whom there is anything of infinity, that is, anything of the essence and life of love in itself, or anything of the Divine. For if there were beings having in them anything of infinity, that is, of the essence and life of love in itself, that is, of the Divine, it would not be God loved by others, but God loving Himself; since the Infinite, that is, the Divine, is one only, and if this were in others, Itself would be in them, and would be the love of self Itself; and of that love not the least trace can possibly be in God, since it is wholly opposed to the Divine Essence. Consequently, for this relation to be possible there must be others in whom there is nothing of the Divine in itself. Third Round posts are short audio clips taken from Round 3 comments in the online Logopraxis Life Group meetings. The aim is to maintain focus on understanding the Text's application to the inner life while reinforcing key LP principles highlighted in the exchanges.
This week Pastor Ken starts our new series Rearranged with a message about how the way we handle money often reveals what we value, even more than our words do.He talks honestly about why money feels so personal, why it can make us uncomfortable, and how our spending, saving, and giving patterns give a window into what matters most to us. Ken also looks at what Jesus teaches about treasure, priorities, and the idea of “storing up” things that actually last.Send us a text

Using Daniel 12 as a guide, Paul reminds us that God sees us clearly, knows who belongs to Him, and invites us to live with eternity in mind. Our legacy isn't about accomplishments, money, or status. It's about who we become and whether our lives reflect the character of Christ.Send us a text

With more than 40,000 cases reported in Central America and Mexico since July 2023, the United States is preparing for a potential outbreak of the New World screwworm fly. The parasitic blowfly – whose flesh-eating larvae feed on the live tissue of warm-blooded animals – was officially eradicated from the US in 1966, but with a case in September less than 70 miles from the border, alarm bells are ringing. Texas vet Will McCauley joins Chris Simpson to discuss the role veterinarians will have to play in detecting and combating any potential outbreaks. What do you do when life throws you a curveball? This week Pastor Phil Kniesel unpacks one of the most well-known stories in Scripture, Daniel in the lion's den. We look at how discipline, consistency, and trust in God prepare us for life's hardest moments.Daniel didn't wait for a crisis to decide how he would respond, he built habits that grounded his faith long before the trial came. This message reminds us that spiritual habits like prayer and trust aren't about perfection, but about choosing consistency over time.Send us a text
We've explored five ways to be a blessing: Prayer, Listening, Eating, and Serving. These actions are vital, showing love without saying a word. But is only being kind enough? The final step is the most challenging: Share your Story. We often stop ourselves because we feel unqualified or afraid of imposing. But sharing your story is simply humbly telling someone what changed your life. You don't need all the answers, and a little awkwardness is worth it if it helps someone find hope. Kindness gets people's attention; your story points them to the source of your hope. We have to move beyond just hoping people find their way back and actually help them. We'll equip you with a simple, three-part way to compose and confidently share the difference-maker in your life. #HowToNeighbor #ShareYourStory #BeyondKindness #FindHope What's the best way to open a conversation that invites a natural opportunity to share your story? Sometimes God doesn't take away the hard things... but He's always with us in them.In this message, Pastor Phil Kniesel shares how the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego reminds us that real faith isn't just believing God can, it's trusting Him even when He doesn't.When life feels heavy and uncertain, you can still find peace and strength in knowing God is in control and walking with you through the fire.Send us a text
It is Reformation Sunday and also week 5 of our series, How to Bless Your Neighbor. Our mission is to Love God, Love Others, with No Limits, and we do that by being a blessing to the people God has put in our lives. This week, we dive into the first 'S' in our B.L.E.S.S. acronym: Serve. We are going to offer a challenge for us all to embrace a radical paradigm shift—a move from a crown to an apron—just as Jesus demonstrated when he washed his disciples' feet. Jesus, the King of Kings, lowered himself to the lowest act of service, teaching us that to be great, we must first serve. This isn't just about kind gestures; it's about a total shift in how we approach our spouse, co-workers, and community. We also take a moment to discuss the vital regional ministry of Heartfelt Radio and the power of supporting Christian outreach beyond our local walls. Are you ready to stop hoping people find their way back to God and start helping? Discover the revolutionary power of service! Worship Notes on YouVersion http://bible.com/events/49511719
In Matthew 28:1-15 we see that, because Jesus rose from the dead, we can be forgiven, transformed, and truly alive forevermore.
Daniel lived in a world that pushed against his faith—but he stood firm. His story reminds us that when you stand on your convictions, you never stand alone. This week, Pastor Phil continues our Uncomfortable series by showing how Daniel's courage and faith can inspire us today. In a culture that pressures us to compromise, we can choose conviction over comfort and trust God with the outcome.Send us a text
We're pausing our "How to Bless Your Neighbor" (B.L.E.S.S.) series briefly this week to bring you a truly vital message on perseverance and assignment. This week's word from Pastor Noah Herrin challenges us with a vital question: Are you faithful to the finish? Drawing inspiration from the life of Noah, we are reminded: Starting things is easy. Finishing things is biblical. If you've been feeling weary in your commitment to B.L.E.S.S. your neighbors, or tempted to trade your God-given assignment for a man-made opportunity, this message is for you. We'll learn why God's measurement of success is faithfulness—not comparison! A Moment of Thanks and Prayer: Before the message, we share a moment of profound gratitude! We celebrate the wonderful news of the safe return of the 20 remaining living hostages in Israel after 737 days in captivity. This is a true answered prayer, reminding us of the power of our collective faith! We pray for the safe return of the deceased hostages and for lasting peace in the region, standing on the promise: “The Lord sets prisoners free.” (Psalm 146:7) About Pastor Noah: Noah is a 30-year-old lead pastor, author, and communicator based in Nashville, TN. He has a passion to talk about the person who changed his life: Jesus. For over 10 years Noah has been a trusted voice to followers of Jesus around the globe, speaking at churches, universities, and conferences. In 2023 Noah and his wife Maddy started Way Church in the heart of Nashville, where they saw over 600 people accept Christ in the first year. Noah has written two books: bestseller Holy Habits and Welcome to Manhood. Noah and Maddy have three kids: Lion, Mila, and Navy. #Faithfulness #Assignment #FinishingStrong #BlessYourNeighbor #Christianity #ChurchOnline #PrayForPeace Worship Notes on YouVersion

This week, Pastor Ken launches our brand-new series “Uncomfortable” with a message called “This Place is Getting Weird.”We all crave comfort, but faith often calls us into the uncomfortable — especially when following Jesus means standing out in a world that doesn't always align with Him. Looking at the story of Daniel, Pastor Ken explores how we can live with conviction and courage when the values of our culture collide with the values of God's Kingdom.Send us a text
We all know the pain of feeling unheard—that feeling someone is just "waiting to speak" instead of truly listening. But the simple act of listening is the key to our mission! This week, we continue How to BLESS Your Neighbor by focusing on the "L"—Listen. Jesus showed us that being heard is close to being loved when He stopped to hear the blind beggar (Luke 18:35-43) and engaged the man at Bethesda (John 5:1-9). He proves that giving attention is the first act of love. We'll learn how to overcome the barrier of "waiting to speak" and, like Paul in Athens, tune in to the needs around us (Acts 17). Don't just walk past the opportunities! Learn how to truly listen and connect with others. PLUS: This Sunday, we're celebrating the Flags of Fellowship, recognizing our support for the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in solemn remembrance of October 7, 2023. @IfcjOrg Challenge for the Week: Make your prayer simple: “Jesus, help me to listen today.” #BLESSYourNeighbor #ListenFirst #JesusListens #LoveYourNeighbor #FlagsOfFellowship #IFCJ #Oct7Remembrance Challenge: This week, use your BLESS Card to write down the people God is calling you to pray for. BLESS Series: Part 2 - B is for Begin with Prayer Do you ever wonder if your prayers actually make a difference? You might hope your neighbors find their way back to God, but Jesus invites us to start actively helping by getting on our knees. This week let's hear about the amazing (and slightly terrifying!) hairbrush story and unpack how Jesus Himself consistently prioritized prayer, even when choosing the team that would change the world. (Hint: the choices weren't obvious!) The big idea is simple: In order to BLESS our neighbor, Jesus invites us to begin with prayer. Don't just sit on the sidelines hoping. It's time to move from "hoping" to "helping"! Challenge:This week, use your BLESS Card to write down the people God is calling you to pray for. We've all had regrets. Things we wish we said differently, choices we wish we hadn't made, or opportunities we wish we hadn't missed. But what if the most spiritually dangerous thing in your life isn't what you're doing wrong, but what you're not doing at all?In this message, Pastor Phil unpacks Jesus' story from Matthew 25 about the servants entrusted with bags of gold. This special Labor Day message reflects on the true meaning of rest in a world that never stops. We explore the paradox of a holiday that celebrates work by taking a day off, and why our modern striving so often leaves us weary. Let's uncover the blueprint for rest, examining how God modeled a sacred rhythm for humanity and how the Sabbath was given as a powerful declaration of freedom from slavery. Let's learn that genuine rest is an act of trust, teaching us to rely on God's provision instead of our own frantic effort. Today's journey is to the ultimate invitation from Jesus to find rest for our souls, urging us to lay down our heavy burdens and enter into the finished work He has already accomplished. DREAM WITH US, and we'll teach you how to interpret them!Viviane Silvera animated 30,000 of her hand-painted images to explore how traumatic memories are formed, stored, and ultimately transformed. Her animated documentary, SEE MEMORY, traces the intimate story of a young woman caught between past and present; her film captures the fragmented texture of trauma and the healing that becomes possible when painful memories are witnessed. In our conversation with Viviane, we explore her process of recovering lost memories and how opposing perspectives can constellate new attitudes toward trauma. We discuss cutting-edge findings on the way the brain stores and changes memory and reveal the intersection of art, science, and psyche. Remember that Neptune (Visionary) just left Pisces and entered Aries marking a new 14-year cycle of growth. Astrobutterfly says about this: "on a personal level, our focus will shift from seeking connection with something greater (Pisces) to a focus on selfhood – reshaping our identity, discovering our purpose, and stepping into a more active role in our lives."Mercury (Storyteller) re-enters Aries (after its recent retrograde period in Pisces) and conjoins Neptune. Be open to any new inspirations, ideas and opportunities with communication that may be way-showers for new directions. Mars (Advocate-Champion) re-enters Leo after its recent retrograde period in Cancer having challenged us to address and heal our aggressive emotional defense patterns. Now its time to honor our emotions in courageous ways and move forward with our creativity and self-respect.Mars in Leo trines Neptune in Aries supporting you to express your unique creativity. Chani says: "let your musings take the lead. Flowing rather than forcing merges ease with success."The Sun (Conscious Self) enters Taurus inviting you to slow down and smell the flowers and honor your sensuality, security and connection to Earth. The Sun in Taurus squares Mars in Leo challenging you to ground excessive unconscious selfishness. Chani advises: "temper tantrums signal unmet needs. Ifyou find yourself fuming, investigate the ways that you're at odds with yourself."Podcast Poem: "The Forest for the Trees" by Rena PriestSupport the showGo to Sheila's website for information for transformational resources: https://www.ontheedgesofchange.comFollow Sheila: https://www.instagram.com/ontheedgesofchange https://www.pinterest.com/ontheedgesofchange
