Ladies and gentlemen, This episode is a tribute to a guy who has been in the music industry for nearly 40 years, and since the age of 9 he has has a love for music. It is a unique story, and one that left him speechless. Charlotte and Kerrie have established a relationship in the hope of it benefitting their son, and what began as a facebook message has now developed into something clearly quite special for everyone. Whilst still early days for everyone, Kerrie felt it right that Charlotte should always be involved in their sons life, and with support on both sides they have embarked on a more open adoption. Both Mums were a joy to talk to, and I don't mind admitting to some eye leakage from myself during the conversation. Long story short : Back in the late 80's, I started to learn how to mix 2 vinyl records together. Each mix used to feel like a new challenge for me as I had to figure out how to make tracks last long enough not to hear the transition between them. From that moment on and until 2008, I probably bought around 10-12 thousands vinyls. It's time to show you what I have in my collection throughout the years. In this episode Nicola shares her story of adoption. It's a difficult story to listen to as with limited or no support Nicola and her husband supported children with challenging and aggressive behaviour for many years. Nicola shares the impact on the whole family as well as on her mental and physical health.  This is a  personal account with personal views and at times is hard to listen to but reflects the experiences of an increasing number of adoptive families. We advise caution as this is a challenging listen but we hope you find it thought provoking and interesting.  Nicola writes: 'Our experience of adoption has not been an easy one but it is far from unique. Many adoptive families have had similar experiences, particularly with their local authority. My original reason for telling my story was to help improve the understanding of any social workers who are stuck in a child protection mindset and don't have the training to understand the impact that early childhood trauma has on family life.  Or that parenting  children who have had very difficult starts in life is extremely challenging  and even the best parenting may not be good enough in some circumstances. I want them to understand, that in these cases, support not criticism is vital. More recently after our complaint to the local authority was upheld I have been working with them. I have been very impressed that they have now heard this message and are working extremely hard to provide additional training around whole family support. They have accepted that things were not done well in our case and although a little too late for our family have been receptive to making essential changes to avoid this happening to any other families. So if you recognize your struggle in our story please don't give up. There are people in local authorities who do want to listen and make a difference.' Bea, along with her partner, have been fostering for 2 years, and now have a longer term placement. Bea explains some of the process to becoming a foster carer in recent times, and it felt rather a standard assessment process, that anyone can relate to. It's precisely 3:14 AM and I can't sleep. So, I thought I'd go ahead and drop this massive bomb on everyone as a little TGIF early morning gift when you wake up. The Summer Circuit Edition pt.2 picks right up where we left off with sizzling tribal beats for those hot sticky nights. Things kick-off with Offer Nissim's dark and divalicious We Can Make It and then just steam rolls through the rest of the set.  While not a huge radio hit, I Ain't Your Mama (Jennifer Lopez) has hit all the right notes with us gay folk and Danny Verde gets serious in his remix of the song. As you would expect, he uses deep and progressive beats while keeping the lively attitude of the lyrics intact. Score! Betty Who returns with an unexpected remake of I Love You Always Forever originally sung by one-hit wonder Donna Lewis. This is one of those songs I'd prefer to not remember from the 90's but it works surprisingly well. Even more so on the laid-back version coming up on the next installment of Summer Chill. Give it a few spins and you'll be singing along like a happy little love bird. It's Britney, BITCH! and she's back with a new single and new album in the works. The Summer Circuit Edition pt.2 picks right up where we left off with sizzling tribal beats for those hot sticky nights. Things kick-off with Offer Nissim's dark and divalicious We Can Make It and then just steam rolls through the rest of the set.  While not a huge radio hit, I Ain't Your Mama (Jennifer Lopez) has hit all the right notes with us gay folk and Danny Verde gets serious in his remix of the song. As you would expect, he uses deep and progressive beats while keeping the lively attitude of the lyrics intact. Score! Betty Who returns with an unexpected remake of I Love You Always Forever originally sung by one-hit wonder Donna Lewis.
