Det er blevet tid til en nedtakt fra Det Sønderjyske Fællesdyrskue, så vi har fint besøg af familien Van Ittersum fra Vinum Dairy, som vandt årets Miss Sønderjylland. Vi skal både tale om selve produktionen på ejendommen, hvor der var 100 køer på matriklen da familien overtog den i starten af 90'erne - og i dag er ca. 330, og så skal vi høre om den store avlsinteresse som både Marten og Antoon Van Ittersum har haft i mange år. Marten og Antoon har deltaget på mange dyrskuer og de har taget mange præmier med hjem igennem tiden. Vi hører bl.a. historien om en tur til dyrskue i Holland, hvor der blev købt (dyre!) embryoner som sidenhen er blevet til Solomon. Het festival speelt zich af op meerdere locaties in de wijk, met optredens van bijna 100 dichters. Marten Janse, voorzitter van de Haarlemse Dichtlijn, vertelde er meer over in Niet Thuis Magazine op Haarlem105. “Dit jaar hebben we weer prachtige plekken weten te vinden”, vertelt Janse. “We staan in de Kweektuinen, op de begraafplaats bij de Kleverlaan, én in de omliggende woonwijk.” Op elke locatie worden twee podia opgebouwd, goed voor in totaal zes podia. “Daar treden steeds acht tot negen dichters op”, aldus Janse.

Als ze samen een band oprichten, maakt dat veel los. De groep vormt een hechte clan, maar ondanks succes en bevlogen optredens ontstaan er barsten in de vriendschap. Van allerlei kanten trekken er krachten aan de jongens. Jaren na hun breuk, op een broeierige middag, brengt Marten zijn zoon naar een speelkameraadje. Bij diens Marokkaanse oma wordt hij op indringende wijze met zijn jongere zelf geconfronteerd. Nyk de Vries is schrijver, muzikant en performer. Van 2019 tot 2021 was hij Dichter fan Fryslân. Hij publiceerde o.a. de bundel prozagedichten De dingen gebeuren omdat ze rijmen (genomineerd voor de J.C. Bloem-poëzieprijs), de roman Renger (Piter Jellespriis) en de dichtbundel Asman.

Last week, The Green spent time with Delaware's new Dept. of Education Secretary Cindy Marten discussing education funding and the work of the Public Education Funding Commission to deliver a more equitable state education funding formula.But education funding is hardly the only issue facing schools in Delaware. Lagging student proficiency scores and school behavior and climate are just a couple of the topics that are also top of mind for lawmakers and educators – as well as students and their families.Delaware Public Media's Tom Byrne is joined again by Marten this week to discuss these topics and more – and how she and Gov. Matt Meyer plan to approach them.

The Public Education Funding Commission meets again on Monday to continue its work to deliver a more equitable state education funding formula.The Commission is expected to consider multiple models for a new formula as it moves forward this year. Gov. Matt Meyer is pushing for quick movement on this effort and has championed replacing the current unit count system, which he has characterized as very outdated.This week, Delaware Public Media's Tom Byrne sat down with Meyer's Dept. of Education Secretary Cindy Marten to discuss where she and the Meyer Administration stand on this process and the future of education funding in the First State.

Within the ‘culture' war are factions aligned with or maligned with God, with the political right fighting against puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and brutal irreversible surgeries for young people - rightly so - in the name of saving the innocent children from evil. However, the proclivity to see Satan is these details overlooks the fact that almost all double mastectomy surgeries are performed on women fearful of breast cancer - cutting healthy breast off out of perceived genetic threat - and that circumcision is a barbaric genital mutilation ritual which severs pleasure and spiritual connection for men - 80% of US men are cut up. Just as the blue haired Dr. Marten trendies destroy the image of femininity so too do the bleach blonde (nothing against blondes), fake breast, plastic surgery foot soldiers of the morally superior. One rejects the goddess entirely and the other amplifies artificially her qualities to the point of distortion, both in the name of anti christ consciousness. There is an evil influence on the left, but an equally evil influence that hides behind morals and modesty on the right.
