    Ivy Insights

The Ear Snacks podcast is an incredible and captivating show that both children and adults can enjoy. From the musicality to the playful nature of the hosts, Andrew and Polly, there is a sense of joy that radiates from each episode. They have a masterful way of handling and weaving together various subjects, making it one of the best podcasts out there. As a listener, I am constantly delighted by their content, as is my child. I am truly grateful that this podcast exists and for Andrew and Polly's dedication to putting such wonderful content into the world.

One of the best aspects of The Ear Snacks podcast is the music. Andrew and Polly have a talent for creating catchy tunes that are both entertaining and educational. Their songs are fun and engaging, making it easy for children to learn new concepts or information while enjoying themselves. The musicality adds another layer of enjoyment to each episode, making it stand out from other podcasts aimed at children.

Another great aspect of this podcast is the topics they cover. Andrew and Polly touch on a wide range of subjects, from keys to hot peppers, providing interesting and informative content for their young listeners. They have a knack for presenting these topics in a way that is accessible to children without talking down to them or oversimplifying complex ideas. It keeps kids engaged and encourages curiosity.

While it's difficult to find any major flaws in The Ear Snacks podcast, one minor downside could be the occasional inclusion of political topics. While it's important to address important issues with children, some parents may prefer to keep politics separate from their child's entertainment. However, this is only a small aspect of the show and doesn't detract significantly from its overall quality.

In conclusion, The Ear Snacks podcast is an absolute gem in the world of children's podcasts. It offers engaging content with delightful hosts who know how to capture the attention of young listeners. With its wonderful music, great topics, and delightful hosts, it is a podcast that I highly recommend to anyone with children in their lives. It's original, refreshing, and just plain fun. Andrew and Polly have truly created something special with this show, and I am eagerly looking forward to future episodes.

Perfect for staring out of car windows or finding a cozy space to draw, Andrew & Polly ask their friends from New Zealand to Arkansas all about the weather where they live. We learn about how the water cycle works by imagining ourselves as rain drops with Carie Fallwell from the Glazer Children's Museum in Tampa, Florida. H-E-L-L-O! What's a letter? How old is the invention of type? How does a ballpoint pen work? Andrew & Polly investigate. Ana Gomez-Bernaus explains the art of typography and designing your own letters, and The Pen Addict's Brad Dowdy muses on drawing miniature cities and writing letters to baseball players to get their autographs. We first published this episode in 2017 with an incorrect mention that Gutenberg's printing press was the first development in moveable type in 1400. The episode you just heard is a revision as of 5/11/2022. We want to thank listener, typographer and mom Steph Rue for alerting us to the many many years of developments in typography in Asia that predate the printing press. Our previous release reinforced a western perspective, which is incorrect and as part of our ongoing work to dismantle racism we have decided to release a new version and our hope is to share that with you as transparently as possible. Thank you to Steph for noticing this, bringing it to us, educating us and allowing us a chance to do this work.
