Presented by Lauren Stibgen We have been talking about how much time we spend at work—one-third of our waking hours—and the social friendships and connections we may or may not have there. Like me, you may be just too exhausted to even think about being social at work! After all, sometimes these connections require even more of your time, and your calendar outside of work can be just as busy. Spending time with other Christian working women reminds me all working women—Christian or not—feel the burdens of the elusive work/life balance more than their male counterparts. A 2024 Gallup poll found 51% of women compared to 39% of men feel stressed at work.[1] Women are more likely to juggle personal items during work hours, which also adds to this. Women are balancing work, caregiving, health, and perhaps additional education opportunities making their days long. Making time for more social connections often feels like another thing they just cannot add to their day. Being too exhausted to engage socially is impacting more than just social connections for women; it is also impacting their opportunities for promotion. A study by Leanin.org found women are less likely to be promoted than men, partly because they participate less in informal social interactions.[2] Our Savior Jesus was sometimes too exhausted for more social engagement too! Hebrews 4:15 reminds us we have a high priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. Jesus experienced weariness too. In fact, his exhaustion is one of the things that lead to the interaction with the woman at the well. Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon (John 4:6). Jesus had sent the disciples ahead to bring back food to him, and he was alone. Wearied in the Bible refers to deep physical and emotional exhaustion. We know Jesus was facing both. And I am sure this resonates with you. Your physical body and emotional state are just gassed. Knowing Jesus felt the same way, what habits did he engage? Jesus went to his Father for refreshment. We see this repeatedly in the gospels. Luke 5:16 and 6:12 tell us Jesus withdrew and went up to a mountain to be in prayer with God. We also read this in Mark 1:35. When you feel too exhausted to connect socially, connect with God in prayer. Take time to bring your burdens to the Lord. Pray for the right connections and interactions. Pray for balance and refreshment. Pray for the right opportunities at work. After all, God is your best social interaction. --- [1] Barry, K. It's 'utter nonsense' that you as the retail investor mustn't even try your hand at it. It's not rocket science. But it does offer only one ‘free lunch'.
Pastor Casey brings us to the fourth dispute within Malachi and how God is wearied by the Israelites complaints, priestly corruption, and unchecked sin. And yet, the Father's heart brings much light to such darkness.
After a girls' weekend, Shasta returned home feeling drained – her friend J'Leen seemed to often take things personally and question how accepted she was in the group. Again, they'd spent much of their time together reassuring her to no avail. Today, Shasta and J'Leen explore how J'Leen's fears of rejection and abandonment developed, how her attempts to shield herself from potential rejection led to actual rejection, and what triggered her fears. They also consider how it feels to be on the other side, trying to love someone who cannot see or feel it. Finally, they reveal how J'Leen learned to become her own best friend, and how her journey of personal growth and self-awareness transformed her life and relationships. In this episode, Shasta and J'Leen answer the questions:How can a fear of rejection and/or fear of abandonment develop? How does it feel to be a friend to someone with a fear of rejection / fear of abandonment? How can self-love transform our relationships? What can trigger a fear of rejection and/or fear of abandonment? What can you do to support a friend struggling from fear of rejection / fear of abandonment? Why does a fear of rejection sometimes lead to actual rejection? Sermon on Mark 4:1-20
One hundred years after their exile, the Israelites returned home to Jerusalem but quickly grew indifferent as they waited on the Lord to fulfill his promises. Their attitudes became cynical, their sacrifices became corrupt, and their lives became idolatrous. Honestly, they just didn't care anymore. So how does God confront this spiritual apathy? Enter the prophet Malachi. Using a back-and-forth dialogue, the Lord speaks through Malachi to call his people out on their sin and call them back to obedience — and it's a message for God's people of today as well. When spiritual apathy sets in, we too need to be confronted with the truth.
Malachi 2:17-3:5 -- God prepares and purifies his people before vindicating his perfect justice.

Opening Song: You Came For Me by Amanda Williams, Leslie Jordan, and Sally Lloyd-Jones Lyrics: Hiding in plain sight praying for some peace Carrying my burden looking for relief Wearied as I was I felt You close to me Reaching out Your hand You offered me a drink And You wouldn't speak to me a single word If You only knew the things I've done You came for me Jesus You came for me Jesus In spite of my shame You called me by name You came for me Jesus You came for me Jesus I'll leave all that I know Just to go where You go Springs of Living Water welling up in me Bringing life abundant setting my heart free And it's more than I can hope Oh it's more than I can dream A love so overwhelming it fills the depths in me I'll never be thirsty Forever forever I'll never be thirsty Forever forever I'll leave all that I know Just to go where You go Passage: Luke 4:21-32 And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 And all spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from his mouth. And they said, “Is not this Joseph's son?” 23 And he said to them, “Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, ‘“Physician, heal yourself.” What we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.'” 24 And he said, “Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. 25 But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land, 26 and Elijah was sent to none of them but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And there were many lepers[a] in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.” 28 When they heard these things, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath. 29 And they rose up and drove him out of the town and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff. 30 But passing through their midst, he went away. 31 And he went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the Sabbath, 32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word possessed authority. Musical Reflection: All to Jesus I Surrender (SURRENDER) by Winfield S. Weeden Reflection Notes: This tune was originally intended to have two-part harmonies on the verse and four-part harmonies of the refrain; the additional harmonic fullness adds to the repeated emphasis of the words “I surrender all.” Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the Cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

Rev. Dr. Chris Polski - First Sunday of Advent
Have you ever heard the expression, “no rest for the weary?” this is meant to showcase a person's tireless commitment to a project or work of some kind and on the surface, it sounds good…who doesn't like a go-getter?! a person who exemplifies great ambition or passion towards a thing….to drive home this point further, perhaps you have heard these expressions, “working myself to the bone,” or better yet, “I'll rest when I get to Heaven!”I don't know about you but just listening to those statements makes me tired! Listen, the Bible is chock full of wisdom principles commanding us to work, to put our hands to the plow, to sow, to not grow weary, and so forth, but I am so glad that the Lord doesn't work us tirelessly to the bone dangling a carrot on a stick offering reprieve and rewards one day in the sweet by and by only!Instead, listen to the words of Jesus and what He wants to give us now: Matthew 11:28 says, “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest!”in John 14:27, He says, “my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives…”again in Hebrews 4, He encourages us to enter His rest!”Proverbs 3:24 talks about laying our heads down and our sleep being sweet!Psalm 23:2,3 David writes this about His walk with the Lord, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: So what do we get when we put all of these scriptures together?Simply put, The Lord doesn't want us working to the detriment of our souls, our lives, or our families, He wants to give us rest, providing us our daily bread.in this manner we will not get overwhelmed or overworked trusting daily in Him, relying daily on Him to lead us, direct us, and order our steps…Here is a very simple biblical principle to keep in mind meshing well john 15:5 & Philippians 4:13:Without Him, we can do nothing but through Him, we can do all things! Instead of seeing how much we can get done on our own apart from Him, He wants us to do what we can in Him and allow Him to bring the increase!!what are some practical ways we can do this? The Bible says we hold this treasure in earthen vessels. These leak, crack, and break, and therefore need daily care…Jesus is called the author and finisher of our faith, the bishop of our souls!Just as we would take a watch to a watchmaker or a car to a mechanic we need to take our souls to Jesus! It really is that simple and it shows Him how much trust we actually put in Him to be the Lord of our lives instead of attempting to have Him be copilot to our plans and schemes, our castles in the sand!Listen, God can do in a moment what we cannot in a lifetime! Therefore, it would be far better for us to trust fully in Him!He can make a way where there seems to be no way!He is the master of turning beauty from ashes! He is a restorer, a healer, a fixer, a turner, a raiser of the dead, a bringer of life, hope, and lasting Peace! He is not the was or the will be, but rather the I AM - an ever-present help in time of trouble! He is a strong tower! He never fails and He will never leave us nor forsake us!He wants to give us rest! The question remains, however: will we let Him?!Will we allow Him to have His way in our lives? Will we trust fully in Him?We will labor to rest in Him daily?!I want to encourage you today and leave you with a line from a poem I wrote some time ago:Are you tired from the travel?Wearied from the fight? To Him belongs the battle,He makes all things right!Put your trust in Him,His promises are sure. He's reaching out with kindness,He's knocking at the door!In Christ,Joshua Scott
(English) In this message Ps Catherine talks about in these 4 points: (John 4:5-9 TPT) Jesus arrived at the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. (6-8) Wearied by his long journey, he sat on the edge of Jacob's well, and sent his disciples into the village to buy food, for it was already afternoon. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (9) She replied, “Why would a Jewish man ask a Samaritan woman for a drink of water?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) (John 4:10 TPT) Jesus replied, “If you only knew who I am and the gift that God wants to give you, you'd ask me for a drink, and I would give you living water.” (John 4:13-18 TPT) Jesus answered, “If you drink from Jacob's well, you'll be thirsty again, (14) but if anyone drinks the living water I give them, they will never be thirsty again. For when you drink the water I give you, it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, flooding you with endless life!” (15) The woman replied, “Let me drink that water so I'll never be thirsty again and won't have to come back here to draw water.” (16) Jesus said, “Go get your husband and bring him back here.” *(17) “But I'm not married,” the woman answered. “That's true,” Jesus said, 18“for you've been married five times, and now you're living with a man who is not your husband. You have told the truth.” (John 4: 36-30 TPT) Jesus said to her, “You don't have to wait any longer, the Anointed One is here speaking with you—I am the One you're looking for.” (27) At that moment, his disciples returned and were stunned to see Jesus speaking with a Samaritan woman, yet none of them dared ask him why or what they were discussing. (28) All at once, the woman left her water jar and ran off to her village and told everyone, (29) “Come and meet a man at the well who told me everything I've ever done! He could be the One we've been waiting for.” (30) Hearing this, the people came streaming out of the village to go see Jesus. Keys to taking hold of the healing and hope Jesus is offering you: 1.Come to Jesus 2. Forgiveness (Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 3. You are a New Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 4.Jesus Restores Vision and Purpose (John 4:39-42 TPT) Many from the Samaritan village became believers in Jesus because of the woman's testimony: “He told me everything I ever did!” (40) Then they begged Jesus to stay with them, so he stayed there for two days, (41) resulting in many more coming to faith in him because of his message. (42)The Samaritans said to the woman, “Now we've heard him ourselves. We no longer believe just because of what you told us, but we're convinced that he really is the true Savior of the world!”
All of God's children get weary in doing good in fact many of you are at this very moment. The good news is: Do not stop doing good because the harvest is coming!
