When 18 out of 23 leaders in a room all gave the same answer — people — to the question "What's the most puzzling part of leadership?", it was hard to ignore. This episode unpacks why.Drawing on a distinction from Arthur Brooks' new book, we explore the difference between complicated problems (ones that can be solved) and complex problems (ones that can only be managed). The cruel irony of leadership? Solve enough complicated problems and you get promoted into a world full of complex ones — and the skills that got you there are almost useless in this new game.If you've ever tried to spreadsheet your way through a relational conflict or a disengaged high performer, this one's for you. We'll talk about what it actually looks like to stop trying to solve the unsolvable — and why leaning into the mystery might be the most important thing you can do as a leader.Podcast produced by Sound of a Rose

Speed puzzling is a competition where everyone is given the exact same puzzle and individuals, duos or teams work together to complete it the fastest. Last month, USA Jigsaw Nationals brought together puzzle lovers across the country to Atlanta to compete. Portlander Rob Shields was one of the attendees. The PM Team w/Poni & Mueller

A very odd decision from Don Kelly last night that aided a Pirates loss to the Nationals. In a spot with the Pirates down 1 run and the bases loaded, Kelly chose to lift Brandon Lowe from the game in favor of Nick Yorke. Yorke proceeded to ground into a double play immediately. Lowe hit a home run earlier in the game, off a left-handed pitcher, but was taken out instead of facing one in that spot. To top it off, that spot in the order came up with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and Yorke popped out in foul ground with the tying and winning runs on-base. The guys thought the move was very similar to ones we would see from Derek Shelton in the past. Is there any defense to the decision? Mitch Keller didn't have a good night, so we don't want to leave him off the hook here.

Fans give takes on Don Kelly over-managing last night in a Buccos loss to the Nats. More calls reacting to the odd decision made by Don Kelly last night. And the throw by Jake Mangum shouldn't be forgotten.
