Zach Hoffman - Founder and CEO of Swiss-Army Leadership Leads with Empower. Zach is originally from Pittsburg, PA and grew up with dreams of playing in the NFL. While Zach's childhood dream did not come to fruition, Zach discovered his true calling as a coach, mentor, and leader! Zach shares his story from college athlete in the States and professional American Football Player in Europe to authoring a book (Finding the Good Life as a SWA Leader) and founding Swiss-Army Leadership! 00:00: Episode Introduction and "Roll Call" Introducing Zach Hoffman, the Founder and CEO of Swiss-Army Leadership. Zach joined the Lead with Empower podcast on the tail-end of his trip to visit family in California. He will soon be arriving back home in Austria to continue his work as a coach and small business owner! Zach introduces Swiss-Army Leadership and shares how his experiences in 6 different countries helped form the tools leaders need to effectively relate with others. "It is so easy to assume that the way we were brought up and the way we grew up is the only way to lead. However, it is not until you step out of your own realm when you realize that it's not the only way. The most important thing a leader can do is to earn people's respect." 13:15: The "Dorm Room Decision" - Zach's Journey to from the United States to Europe Coming to the realization that his NFL dream was not going to happen led to a difficult decision. His subsequent trip to Poland showed Zach "the world from an outside perspective". "Without the tough decision and adversity, I would not have written a book and started a business to mentor young people." 24:30: Professional American Football in Europe Zach discusses differences in the game when compared to his experiences in the United States as well as the tremendous amount of growth in Europe from 2012-2021 Zach also shares insight into his transition from professional athlete to youth coach - highlighting the following lesson from his playing days: "Run towards adversity and step out of your comfort zone. On the other side of that adversity is our happiness, our destiny, and our legacy." 34:16: Swiss-Army Leadership (SWAL) We learn about Zach's inspiration to take an adventure into entrepreneurship and how his passion to connect with people drives the mission of SWAL. "Listen to peoples' stories, ask questions, not answer questions. This strategy will make you a more well-rounded person, a person that people want to follow. It will allow you to create your legacy." 43:33: The Home Stretch and Finishing the Drill As always, we wrap up with 5 quick-hit questions; including (1) Zach's "out of sport" role model as a child, (2) his favorite athlete, (3) most memorable sport accomplishment, (4) future vision for SWAL, and (5) advice for aspiring leaders! While Zach treks through the mountains in a snowstorm, the other guys talk about Silas' trip to NYC and how they're spending the rest of October.
This week we catch up with Zach Even-Esh, a physical powerhouse of a human being. Zach has an amazing reputation in the world of fitness, strength, and conditioning. While Zach himself has been training non-stop since 1989, he has also trained thousands of athletes - from the youth level to the college level; from military personnel to the Olympic level, and has inspired countless athletes around the world to achieve greater success in both sports and life. In this episode you will hear: I get to help kids change their lives. You want to have the horsepower of a Ferrari, with the grinding strength of a tow truck. Strength and condition is just a vehicle for changing lives – especially of our youth. Kids sometimes need time to turn the corner. Not every kid has the attitude that can he run through a brick wall. You never know when a kid’s gonna change. He could be a train wreck for two or three years, then he turns it around and he’s your star. You never know – that’s why you can never give up on a kid. If there’s a never a challenge – or you wait too long to challenge a kid, then it’s completely foreign territory for them. The work is the gift. You should be chasing that work – not avoiding it. If you think you’re having a bad take day, take the focus of off of you. Make the person next to you better. For people to have a breakthrough, they must have a breakdown. It has to be hard – not stupid – it has to be tough. Training has to be hard. The “we”, not the “me” mentally is the game-changer. You need great team mates. To start a basic fitness effort, start by walking – we can all do it. If you make one change, you’re at 100% past zero. Don’t beat yourself up. Just get better. Accountability to somebody else changes everything. Perfection never happens. There’s beauty in the imperfection. You gotta fall in love with the process, vs the end result. With fitness & health, there’s never really an arriving point. When you achieve something, go and work at the next thing. One of the best thing you can do for yourself, is be healthy and strong. One of the most important tricks is – don’t follow the fads or gimmicks. I was taught that to be normal was to be strong. You don’t have to like it. You just have to do it. The biggest thing is to see the emotional/Internal change people experience through hard training.
While Zach was on vacation Chance, Ronnie, Silas, and Jackson share the story of their previous campaign, The Curse of the Crimson Throne, and explain how it connects to the Age of Ashes campaign. (Major spoilers ahead)
In episode 8 the boys meet with Québec native and professional hockey goaltender, Zach Fucale. While Zach may not be a true Newfoundlander, he has ties to the city of St. John's after spending multiple years with the St. John's IceCaps of the AHL!
For the first Quarantine Goods podcast since switching from Skype to Zoom, the guys connected with Ekzakt, a Los Angeles based recording engineer and producer with roots in the Bay Area. His sounds may have made it on to your Spotify playlist in recent years, producing tracks for Black, Too Short, and more recently Partynextdoor's new album Party Mobile. They talked about how Covid-19 has affected them and how it has impeded the creative process and collaboration. They got into their background as trained audio engineers, and the difference that made when Zach made the move from the Bay to LA. Regardless of the fact that you can make music in a bedroom wherever, Los Angeles is home to creative energy and a network that is unmatched anywhere in the world. While Zach's presence is missed in the Bay Area, the dude is absolutely killing it in So Cal and the guys been loving what it has brought out of him. Plus, it gives them yet another excuse to visit LA, which they very much look forward to doing once everyone can assimilate back into society a bit. So add some Ekzakt songs to your playlist now, then play them after this podcast. While Zach's away on vacation, LJ recorded a pair of episodes we're calling "My Nursing Story". Today, LJ takes you through the story of one of her first long-term patients, a gentlemen named Harry (not his real name) suffering from pancreatic cancer. As interesting as the bells and whistles topics are, nursing is fundamentally about the people we care for, and LJ masterfully relates the experience of being a new nurse responsible for a patient approaching the end of their life. We'll have another episode like this next week, and then Zach returns to the podcast in two weeks. If you've got a question or comment for us, send us an email at chiefcomplaintpod@gmail.com, or tweet us @ChiefPod. Have a great week!Music:You're There by The Mini VandalsAll Night by Ikson

The first thing I did after recording this episode was run and tell my wife about it. Listen, we’ve had some great stories of people “doing what it takes” to take control of their life and situation, but I’m pretty sure Zach takes the prize. He has and continues to go to extremes in order to take destiny into his own hands and create the life for his family and himself. I won’t go any further than throwing out there… the next time you think, “Can I do it?”… think of Zach! There are also lots of great nuggets of wisdom in regards to just how tricky the human mind can be with emotions. You can be extremely confident that you will be able to control them, but… well… you’ll see what I mean. Let’s get to it! Notes: Today we talk to community member Zaher who goes by Zach in the community. Currently, his wife and children are located elsewhere and he wanted to find a good job to support himself and his family with the intention of being able to go back home to them. After funding a small binary options account, Zach started making some decent gains following someone else’s instructions. He is the type of person who wants to learn instead of following blindly. It soon became clear that this particular broker/educator was all a scam. Eventually, Zach realized he needed to fund a brokerage in Canada and found a discount broker. While he deals with other people’s problems and emotions daily for his day job, he thought he was the master of his emotions. This was until he finally put his hard earned money on the line day trading. He got caught immediately buying tops and selling bottoms. Zach realized that he needed a mentor after a little while of losing money. Even regardless of all the books he consumed, it was unable to help him handle the real-life stresses trading involves. After emailing 3 different trading educators, Zach ultimately decided to start taking courses here at Claytrader.com. While Zach would fly through the books earlier in his journey, he has now recognized the fact that it’s not a matter of racing to the end. Regarding the courses, he is taking his time one course at a time and rewatching material that he has trouble grasping. He understands this is not a get rich quick scheme and takes time and effort to succeed. Quotes: I’m not the type of person who likes to follow anybody. I just really want to learn. I went and searched for every book that had to do with trading… and I bought them all. I’ve always thought I was a person who could control my feelings. That was until my first-day trade. 80% of my trades I’m reading it right but it’s so volatile it shakes me out right away. Then I re-enter and it shakes me out again. You helped me change. You helped me to think about things differently. I want to commit to being a really good student and I want to live with my kids. It’s been 6 years and they are growing up without me.
In this episode Zach and Nathan have guest Stephen E. Atkerson on the podcast. Stephen is a super smart dude, who has a lot of good ideas about how the modern day church should look. While Zach and Nathan don't agree 100% with him, his ideas should be considered. Check out the New Testament Reformation Fellowship web site and listen to the podcast to find out how you can get a free copy of his book.

In this week's edition of Wrestlerotica, the podcast that combines wrestling and erotica, we have one story to share with you. The story is entitled "Inspire the Fire - Becky Lynch" and was written by CSL member: Blackjack. In this story, a local hotel employee named Zach is set to work during the holidays. He doesn't mind though as this gives him an opportunity to escape from his family drama, as well as earn extra cash. While Zach expects a quiet and simple time throughout his shift, he doesn't expect his hotel to be filled with WWE superstars. Zach really doesn't expect what happens next when he forms a special relationship with one of the the WWE superstars. Intro/outro music for the week is the song "There Are Many Ways to Say I Love You" by the band Sylvan Esso. The one where Eli gets benched. While Zach is perplexed by Eli's new seating arrangement, Shawn is caught off guard and proceeds to go out on a very shaky limb with his picks. Will he climb back down the tree with delicious fruit or fall past Mike and Zach in his hubris? Only time will tell. (But let's be honest. We're not even sure if Zach is still on the tree.)
Zach and Mimi are married people! Mimi is from Japan and Zach is from the US. Zach put the moves on Mimi at a bar almost fifteen years ago and then they went on a VERY awkward first date that could have ended it all. While Zach’s driving can be a “little bit aggressive,” their style of argument is anything but! When they dated long distance for two years, Mimi’s grandfather and great aunt tried to set her up in an arranged marriage of sorts...behind Zach’s back. Listen to this episode to learn how Zach finally gained–and continues to gain–the approval of Mimi’s grandfather. We cover the difficulties of communicating frustration through a language barrier, the reason why it is always better to get sick in Japan if you know someone who speaks the language, and how important it is to be able to appreciate someone else’s culture AND your own. These are two sweet, sweet people who met each other and, despite challenges, decided to make it work.

Welcome to episode 45 of Connectivity! We've got two segments for you this week. Kicking things off, Scott, Danny, and Zach sit down to talk about all the games they've been playing recently. While Zach has been enjoying the 8-bit Summer, Scott has been slowly making his way through Xenoblade Chronicles. Danny, on the other hand, has revisited the GameCube classic Eternal Darkness. Or is it an insanity effect? After that, the meat of the show arrives. Danny and Daan join Scott to talk about all the great things that haven't come to America yet, like the 3DS XL, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Oni Training, and more. If you live in North America and are patiently waiting for these things to arrive, this segment should be plenty to hold you over. As always, you can send us mail to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. If you get a chance to rate and review us on iTunes, that's be great, too. And I'm sure you are already planning on doing so, but be sure to tune into Radio Free Nintendo's 300th show this weekend. It should be a good one!
The 2021 NBA MVP Odds are out! NBA Gambling Podcast ( https://www.sportsgamblingpodcast.com/author/nbagamblingpodcast/ ) hosts Ryan 'Rich Fat Baby' McKee ( https://twitter.com/TheRyanMcKee ) and Zach 'Swiss Bank' Broner ( https://twitter.com/NBAZachB ) discuss which early bets they like best. Currently, Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the favorites at +600. NBA Champions LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both +700, followed by Steph Curry (10/1), Kawhi Leonard (12/1), and Kevin Durant (16/1). Jimmy Butler, Nikola Jokic, James Harden, Damian Lillard, and Jayson Tatum are all valued at 20/1. As for the real long-shots, Ryan likes Pascal Siakam (80/1) and Zach likes Trae Young (80/1). After discussing the 2021 NBA MVP Odds, the guys discuss what they'll be covering in upcoming episodes this offseason. They also ask listeners to add more topics in the SGPN NBA Slack channel ( https://sg.pn/slack ). Before diving into their Top 10 Players of 2020 lists, they discuss the 76ers' hire of Daryl Morrey. That news dropped right before the podcast recording and they have some hot takes. Finally, the guys debate the Top 10 Players of 2020. They only considered they players' 2019/2020 season, so don't expect Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving, etc. While Zach and Ryan ordered them differently, the top 9 players on both lists are the same. Their 10th players are wildly different. Both guys found the exercise very fun and helpful. It revealed some player biases that they may or may not have realized they held. That's important for all sports gamblers to realize what factors might be clouding your picks. The guys encourage their listeners to do the same thing and post their lists in the SGPN NBA Slack channel ( https://sg.pn/slack ).
