Zach Moreno and Rockwell Felder are the co-founders of SquadCast. Their company’s mission is to make it easier for their clients and their clients’ guests to have meaningful conversations while offering the best quality in remote locations. Zach is a podcaster, an author, a developer, a designer, and an artist. Rockwell is a CPA and an entrepreneur.  Zach and Rockwell join Tom Fox on this week’s episode to talk about collaboration, the podcast industry, and the ways Squadcast helps its clients. Origins of Squadcast Squadcast was founded to fix the problem of poor quality technology within the podcast community. Zach and Rockwell tell Tom how they started the company: “When [Zach] approached me with this idea...I was really ready and the fact that it was rooted at this intersection of podcasting and remote collaboration, which he and I think we're very fortunate to be exposed to early on in our career,” Rockwell says. Building a product that helps creators collaborate in a high-quality manner just made sense to him and Zach. Growth & Viral Cycle Time Tom asks how Squadcast has grown. In response, Zach brings up the concept of “viral cycle time.” This metric looks at the technology a podcaster uses, and how quickly they invite someone to collaborate with them on that platform or technology. “For Squadcast, the magic really comes from inviting a guest, connecting with them and recording together and having a flowing dialogue where the technology just kind of fades into the background,” Zach says. The biggest element of Squadcast’s growth comes from other people collaborating and experiencing the platform for themselves.  The Podcast Community The podcast community is beautiful and welcoming, Zach emphasizes. He tells Tom that when he and Rockwell first launched, they were welcomed with open arms. “The community was so open and welcoming to Squadcast and us as new individuals and that is something that was magical that first time… and also something that we've continued to experience,” he says. It is a community of support, and where the creators of podcast shows are all collaborating with each other. “Amongst the content side of things, it's very open and very collaborative, and I think that's something that's pretty unique to podcasting.”  What’s Next Zach tells Tom that he’s most excited about expanding Squadcast’s team. Hiring different team members and establishing a larger organization is a big focus for this year, he remarks. Maximizing their opportunities in software engineering, marketing, and sales is another venture as well, Zach says. Squadcast will also be launching a new product category called Remote Content Production, which is a foundation that applications will be built on. Another major release from Squadcast also on the way will be its collaboration with Dolby. In the intro to the show Mariann talks to Jasmin about her new favorite book, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, by Nobel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuk and what a pleasure it is to read a book that really gets it about animals. Jasmin announces that she’ll likely be participating in The Goat Games, a virtual event that challenges participants to finish a 5-kilometer run, walk, bike, hike, or swim at a location of their choosing between August 8 and 16 to raise funds for Catskill Animal Sanctuary. Recently, Catskill, like many other sanctuaries, has lost 30% of it’s funding due to COVID-19. Then, in our continued effort to support vegan-owned businesses, we’re shouting out Charlie Fyffe and his  amazing guide to 70+ Black owned vegan businesses in Los Angeles. Over 70!  Then, Jasmin talks to Zach Skow. Zach is the founder of Marley’s Mutts, an animal shelter with a difference in Kern County, California. He turned to his dogs to help him when his diagnosis with end-stage liver disease meant that he had to battle to stay sober to access a liver transplant. When Zach recovered, he was prompted to start the rescue to give back, and, since its inception, Marley's Mutts has now rescued over 5,000 dogs and started a pioneering prison program called Pawsitive Change.  In this episode Zach joins us to dive into how his love for his dogs and their unwavering acceptance of him pulled him through the darkness and brought him back to his authentic self. He shares why Marley’s Mutts is not only an animal shelter, but is a positive force for change in the community, and how the Pawsitive Change Prison Program works to take rescue dogs into local prisons to train with inmates and give both a second chance. Zach also discusses how he sees Marley’s Mutts developing and expanding in the future to support vulnerable humans and animals in need.

"Just like a company looks to create an edge and find something that differentiates its product or service, an athlete is going to look for that opportunity to separate themselves from the pack as well." Zach Weissbach In this ZoneTalk episode, we speak with Zach Weissbach, Vice President of Hudson Athletic Recruiting in Canada. When Zach played junior-level hockey, he saw a real need for athletic advice and assistance, particularly with respect to college scholarship opportunities, which would have been highly valuable for him when he was a young athlete looking at his future. Now in his current role, he has the opportunity to influence the future of up and coming athletes. With sound, practical advice and comprehensive services for scholarship seekers, parents and coaches, Hudson’s scouts aim to maximize the opportunities for pursuing athletic scholarships and financial aid packages to post-secondary institutions in both the US and Canada. This is especially critical at this time of the COVID-19 crisis when many sports have stalled.

My guest is Zach Maurides, who is the founder and CEO of Teamworks, the leading software provider of operations software to athletic organizations world wide.  The phrase "a glutton for punishment" comes to mind when listening to Zach explain his football career. When Zach talks about his 9 orthopedic surgeries during his college football career at Duke, there isn't the slightest invitation for sympathy. Instead, he tells the story with a sense of genuine accomplishment. After all, not quitting after your 2nd surgery is impressive, but 9 is just insane. And that pain tolerance (i.e. perseverance) is what Zach attributes as the primary reason for his success with Teamworks. In this episode, Zach shares what he's learned in growing a software startup from 4 guys with a dream to the 100 person machine it is today. If you're an athlete, you'll especially appreciate the unique perspective that Zach provides on how to get started in life after sports.   Show Notes Website   Connect with Parallel ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/parallelco ► Blog: https://blog.parallelplatform.com/ ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/parallelpla   Connect with Zach ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/zmaurides   Connect with Tyler ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/tylerwbaker

Mighty Blue On The Appalachian Trail: The Ultimate Mid-Life Crisis

Zach Davis didn't hike a long-distance trail until 2011, yet he was intuitively aware of the need to prepare himself mentally for the hike. Establishing his "why" allowed him to be ready for the problems that he would inevitably encounter on the trail. The fact that he contracted West Nile Disease and carried it until the end of the trail is further testimony to his desire to fulfill his goal. When Zach returned from the AT, he wrote his best-selling book, Appalachian Trials to assist other hikers in the hiker mindset. He was already a prolific blogger, but used his website to, first, sell more books and, second, to turn his hiking influence into a business. On today’s episode, James talks with Online Business Strategist Zach Spuckler about the major mindset shifts he has made over the last year that’s enabled him to grow his business exponentially. Zach also shares an effective alternative to doing a really big launch, which you won’t want to miss! When Zach first joined James’ Inner Circle Mastermind a year ago, he worked by himself and had just hit the 6-figure mark in his business. He now has a team made up of multiple people, but notes that it was the inner work he did that allowed him to expand to this. Zach admits that he used to be a workaholic, and that his health started to suffer because of this. He had to step back and ask himself why he originally wanted to start the business, which was to have freedom. Here are just a few of his major breakthroughs: Hire a team Hiring his first VA helped give Zach the systems, and space to grow. During his last launch, he realized that hiring was never an external issue, but he was so busy working that he didn’t know internally what he really wanted. He says that it’s not difficult to find exactly what you want when looking for someone to help; be clear about what you want and need, and put it out to your online community! James believes it’s important to ask yourself what it’s costing you to not hire someone. How could you fill that time and space by doing something else that focuses on the big vision of your company and drives revenue? The internal struggle may get quieter at the level you’re at, but it will start back up again at the next level and will always be there in some form or another. When you think that you’re ready to hire somebody, Zach recommends you trust yourself to take the risk and to handle the fallout if it doesn’t work out, or find people to support you if this should happen. James feels it’s important to know that a lot of people have an illusion that they have to get rid of the fear around hiring or investing in themselves before doing it, but this just isn’t the case. Entrepreneurs are rewarded for taking the risks Remember that other people will love doing the tasks that you assign them, and you don’t have to feel guilty for giving them work. Zach says it was important for him to understand that his team wouldn’t resent him for this and they respect him for giving them work and paying them for their time. As an entrepreneur, you can actually enjoy your life and business, while at the same time empowering your team to grow with you! James likes to remind others that part of the “work” is actually resting so that you can recharge yourself. Charge more money As Zach has “levelled up,” he charges more so that he can create intimacy with his higher-level clients. By charging more, he also attracts the right clients. If you don’t increase your prices, he says that the only thing you’re doing is de-valuing yourself in the process. James adds that so often people base their pricing on what people will pay for the product or service, which can be a mistake as there will always be people that can, or can’t afford it at every level. Zach realizes that as his business grows, everything he does has an opportunity cost and his time is limited. He is careful not to undercharge so that he can continue to serve others through his business. Pricing really comes down to valuing yourself and it’s important to have a logical conversation with yourself and know the true value of what you can offer. There’s an easier (and lighter) way to launch Zach notes that so many people get paralyzed by the thought of launching. Webinars can take many months to perfect, and video series can be expensive and time consuming. You don’t have to get overwhelmed though; by doing a challenge (or a “week long event” as Zach likes to call it), you don’t even have to charge people money for them to have the opportunity to see what it’s like to work with you. When doing a challenge, you just have to show up, give them simple step-by-step tasks and let them prove to themselves, and you, that transformation is possible. Remember, people want to be sold to on the last day of the event, just because you’ve shown them what’s possible. Show your audience what you can do for them and let them decide if you’re a great fit or not! Submit Your Question! LINKS: Plan & Build Your 5-Day $10,000 Challenge-Style Launch

Callywood Live with Zach Savage Zach Savage was born in a small town in Northern Louisiana. He was adopted as an infant by a southern Baptist Minister and his family. Growing up in Louisiana proved to have its challenges. When Zach was three years old he began playing the drums and singing gospel music. As the years passed he continued to write and play music. By this time he’d learned to play several other instruments extremely well.  As he got older things changed again for Zach. He discovered HIP HOP music and he embraced it. He thought he had to be in the streets and doing drugs, living the lifestyle he assumed represented the culture. He started hanging out and doing drugs. And the drugs got him into trouble. He was given the option of going to Angola State Prison, the military or leaving the state for California. If he chose California he could never return to his home town. Zach chose California. When he landed in Cali, he started to play music again. This time he connected with likeminded people who were into music and philanthropy.  He felt he was finally home. As he continued to play and write music more people recognized that he was special, that he truly had a gift. A gift that was so undeniable he was signed by Mark Pitts at RCA. Zach lives in Los Angeles with his own family now. He continues to play and write music daily. If he is not feeding the homeless, he is painting, sketching, writing or rehearsing. “I know God has given me another opportunity to share my art. I want to do good things with my life,” says Zach.

Hey everybody! This week I interview Zach. He and his wife are church planters in Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul has a population of 14-17 million people. Zach was involved with YWAM before he went to LIFE Pacific, and felt a call to reach Muslims in the Middle East. He began to pray for every country in the Middle East, except for Turkey. He didn't necessarily think of Turkey as part of the Middle East. Zach continued onto LIFE and while sitting in LA traffic flippantly asked God where he was supposed to be. When Zach heard Istanbul, he wasn't sure where it came from. Zach asked God to give him a passion for the city if this was truly from Him. He and his wife moved there 8 years ago. They have planted a church in Istanbul and have a desire to see more churches planted in the country of Turkey. Turkey is a country of 76 million people, and there are only 5,000 Protestant Christians. It is one of the least reached countries in the world. I hope this interview stirs in you a desire to pray for the people of Turkey!
