As an early pioneer in Counterparty, Paul Schmitzer's knowledge of Bitcoin began back in 2010. Paul explains his beginnings, his career in architecture, and the influences behind his Counterparty project, Umbrella. Paul saw a potential resurgence of the project after his break from it, and it led to its rediscovery by NFT archaeologists that were deeming it a valuable, historical project. He also talks about the possibility of reviving his Dogeparty Runner Project, that would possibly feature the first-ever in-game tokenized assets. |Paul Schmitzer|• Twitter → https://twitter.com/LiteBitCo|Umbrella|• Twitter → https://twitter.com/Umbrella2014• Discord → https://t.co/MbnP3TKXcA|Dogeparty Runner|• Twitter → https://twitter.com/DogepartyRunner|CONNECT WITH JAKE|• Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/jakegallen/• Twitter → https://twitter.com/jakegallen_• Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/JakeNGallen• Linkedin → https://www.linkedin.com/in/jake-gall...|Timestamps|0:00 - Introductions and Getting to Know Paul9:15 - Influences Behind Umbrella 14:32 - Thought Process Behind Pricing 17:25 - Sharing Thoughts and Ideas in a Counterparty Forum 19:29 - Rediscovery of Umbrella in 202126:08 - Distribution Rates 28:17 - Creation of New Umbrellas as a Subasset 31:06 - Delivering Physical Umbrellas 32:44 - Dogeparty Runner Project 44:05 - Getting the Message Out46:08 - Potential New Community Owned Project 48:17 - Subassets |FOLLOW AND SUBSCRIBE THE PODCAST|• Youtube → Subscribe to this page• Apple Podcasts → https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...• Spotify → https://open.spotify.com/show/7hQdRAz...• Google Podcasts → https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR...• RSS Feed → https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1005154.rss• Website → https://solo.to/theguestlistpod• Media Host → https://theguestlistpod.buzzsprout.com/
In our eighth episode, we're talking to Willem Toorop, Luuk Hendricks and Tom Carpay of NLnet Labs, about how eXpress Data Path, or XDP as it's better known, can be used to improve the performance of DNS resolvers and increase the versatility of name servers, as well as perform low-level measurements on high-speed links. This is a project that they've been working on for at least two years now and as you'll come to learn has now started to bear fruits and make the networking community stand up and pay attention to the capabilities and potential of XDP. You can also read about their journey via the APNIC Blog: blog.apnic.net/tag/xdp/ The views expressed by the featured speakers are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of APNIC.
Maryam Tahhan joins The Net crew to discuss XDP, specifically AF_XDP, and it's ongoing development in the upstream communities. We talk fast networking, with a bit of DPDK and VPP as well. And we learn more about the future of AF_XDP. You can find Maryam on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/maryamtahhan

Also up for discussion is the grudge match ramping up between Ford friends.
We explain what eBPF is, how it works, and its proud BSD production legacy. eBPF is a technology that you’re going to be hearing more and more about. It powers low-overhead custom analysis tools, handles network security in a containerized world, and powers tools you use every day.
On today’s podcast, Justin Cormack discusses how the modern operating system is being decomposed with toolkits and libraries such as LinuxKit, eBPF, XDP, and what the kernel space service mesh Cilium is doing. Wes Reisz and Justin Cormack also discuss how Cilium differs from service meshes like an Istio, Linkerd2 (previously Conduit), or Envoy. Justin is a systems engineer at Docker. He previously was working with unikernels at Unikernel Systems in Cambridge before being acquired by Docker. (edited) *Key Takeaways:* * LinuxKit is an appliance way of thinking about your operating system and is gaining adoption. There are contributions now from Oracle, Cloudflare, Intel, etc. Docker has seen interesting use cases such as customers running LinuxKit on large cloud providers directly on bare metal (more on this coming soon). * The operating system of today is really unchanged since the Sun workstation of the 90’s. Yet everything else about software has really changed such as automation, build pipelines, and delivery. * XDP (eXpress Data Path) is a packet processing layer for Linux that lets you run fast in kernel compiled safe program in kernel called eBPF. It’s used for things like packet filtering and encapsulation/decapsulation. * Cilium is an in-kernel, high performance service mesh that leverages eBPF. Cilium is very good at layer 4 processing, but doesn’t really do the layer 7 things that some of the other services meshes can offer (such as proxying http/1 to http/2)

Entrepreneurs need to try new things. Times change and the expectations from our customers morph over time. Finding ways to remain relevant and to provide unique ways to deliver our products or services are important in a world of change. Thom Singer recently participated as a Table Leader in a special first time conference called XDP. This event was hosted by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in partnership with 360Live. Dozens of people donated hundreds of hours to create a two-day conference that would redesign many elements of live meetings. Meetings are an important part of the world of associations. But the same event year over year can become stale, Yet, there are not a lot of options on ways to arrange an experience when bringing together large crowds at a hotel or conference center. But without exploration and trying new things, nothing will ever change. ASAE undertook a new and exciting event with the Xperience Design Project (XDP). They took many things we expect at a live conference and turned them upside down. Most of the event was interactive discussions in small groups, and it all took place in once ballroom with a round center stage. From the moment participants entered the room, it was clear this conference was going to be different. Thom Singer got to be a table leader, and the impact of seeing a major organization take such a big risk was inspiring. In your business, are you taking risks? Trying new things? Looking for ways to make your products or services more engaging for your customers? We can all benefit when we step out of our comfort zone. Also, not everything at the event was perfect. Trying new things means that some parts may not work,... and thus some might complain (They certainly received some some negative feedback). But overall people were excited by what was new and unique, and next year they will build on the feedback. This episode should make you think about how the XDP experiment could be inspirational for your own entrepreneurial journey.
