With only three weeks until the 2021 NBA trade deadline, Derek and Chad attempt to start fixing the Minnesota Timberwolves by coming up with a series of fake trades. Deals range from simple 2-player swaps all the way to a 4-team, 17-player blockbuster. Nobody is safe!

Derek and Chad walk through the second half of the 1989-90 Timberwolves season and realize that there is more than one parallel from then and now. Fourth quarter collapses, close losses, strong play at home, abysmal play on the road, and some bonkers individual stat lines. Come for the Steve Johnson slander, stay for some all-time pettiness by Bill Musselman.

Derek and Chad debate who should be the eight players from the Wolves roster protected if the league ever has another expansion draft. Some choices are clear, but some big names end up getting left off of their lists, and Chad ALMOST makes a decision that causes the end of a friendship and Howl History as we know it.

Chad and Derek discuss the roller coaster of events that took place during the Timberwolves' first half-season ever. Trades, benchings, rookies, career-games, grudge matches, winning streaks, and losing streaks all make an appearance. Even our favorite color commentator, Jim Peterson, has a part during one of the better games of the year.

Chad and Derek get back together to evaluate the Wolves after another rough stretch of games. They touch on surprises (McDaniels and Vanderbilt), disappointments (Rubio and Saunders), irritants (Russell), and the team MVP so far (Beasley).

Derek and Chad watch the Wolves first home game ever on YouTube against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls and commentate on the proceedings. Bill Musselman is a Bond villain, Scott Roth is Nikola Jokic's doppelgänger, and Tony Campbell goes off. 

Derek and Chad distract themselves from the dumpster fire that is the 2021 Wolves season by asking some tough questions, such as: Would you rather fight three Corey Brewers or one Nikola Pekovic? Would you rather watch a Kevin Garnett sized JJ Barea or a JJ Barea sized Kevin Garnett? Derek and Chad watch the Wolves take on the Portland TrailBlazers and discuss the, mostly disappointing, season so far. While the record may have been predictable, the way they achieved it has been ... disappointing.

Derek and Chad break out the wayback machine for a trip to 1989 and deep dive into the NBA Expansion Draft between the Wolves and Orlando Magic and the '89 Rookie Draft. Shinders and NBA Jam are also referenced in this episode, so you know it has to be good.
