We are back with part 2 of the discussion on prophecy. Myself and Pastor Boyd go deeper into what prophecy is. If you are hearing the voice of God, you're not going crazy? You have a gift. Special thanks to Pastor James Boyd from the Lord's Way International Church. The Lord's Way International 6132 W. I had the esteemed honor to remote chat with a phenomenal man of God, Pastor James Boyd of The Lord's Way International located in Milwaukee, WI. On this episode, Pastor Boyd goes into a very misunderstood gift in the church....prophesy. How do you know if you have the gift? Is it God or am I going crazy? What is the difference between looking up my horoscopes vs praying to know what God wants done on the earth. This will be a multi-part podcast so check out the first part and be blessed by Pastor Boyd's story on how he walked into the gift of prophecy The Lord's Way International 6132 W. As the world is making their way through a pandemic, most of us are quarantining ourselves to stay safe. With almost 2 weeks under our belts, are we slowly going crazy? Should we have taken COVID-19 more seriously? What have we learned about us and others through this difficult time. This was an awesome podcast with my brother Vince Lamar and the Emotional Wreck the Podcast. Check it out, subscribe, comment...show us some love. You got time on your hands :).
Please excuse our choir practice at the beginning of episode. I had the chance to talk to some amazing members of Generation Z. I sat down with Josh, Hosea and Chris who are part of an emerging generation born between the years of 1995 - 2012. I ask if they feel like their voices are being heard in the church and how things are vastly different than when I grew up. Are we truly investing in the next generation? Is this the generation that will keep the torch burning for Christ? Find out on this fun episode of "If the Truth Be Told."
Meet my friend Duanna Barnes. She met her husband when she was 15 years old eating nachos. This initial meeting led to a romance which allowed them to get married. They were soul mates. A match made in heaven. Duanna's husband became very ill during their marriage. In this episode we talk about how she took care of her husband until his passing. She also talks about how she wanted to die after his death and how God gave her joy and peace in the middle of her pain and how she shares that joy with others who are hurting. Please have your kleenex available for this episode because it is extremely emotional but so inspirational. Check out Duanna at the below social media: FB: https://www.facebook.com/duannasuchadiva IG: @leadin_ladyd She will be speaking at the Healing Project Conference 2020 on April 18, 2020 at 10:00am
For the season opener of "If the Truth Be Told Podcast" I had the opportunity to interview my pastor, Supt. Victor C. Davis of Greater Mt. Sinai COGIC. We talk about his love for the NBA, Kobe Bryant's untimely death, and what it is to be a #girldad. We also talk about being a pastor's son, growing up in church and how being a pastor was not in his original plan. Great conversation from a great leader. Check out Greater Mt. Sinai COGIC 5384 N 60th St., Milwaukee, WI www.greatermtsinai.org
On this episode, I had the honor to interview Veronda Jackson, founder of the Dream Loud initiative. This organization assists women in using their gifts and abilities to unlock their potential. Are we allowed to dream or do nightmares(fear) prohibit us? Veronda talks about a nightmare she faced as a teenager and through the help of God, moved past it and started living her dreams. This episode are for those who dare to dream! Check out Veronda and her Dream Loud organization at: www.facebook.com/dreamloudmke/
Meet Lawanda. She is a new mother, wife to her loving husband and woman of God who prays and ministers to women from all walks of life. On the outside you would think that her life had always been perfect. Although she was raised in a christian home, Lawanda was introduced to an alternative lifestyle in which she lived for numerous years. Through the prayers of her family, church and others who loved her, she made a decision to leave a lifestyle that she was comfortable with and live for God. This is an amazing episode of deliverance.
A majority of us a huge Kanye West fans. Although you may not agree with his past/present actions or statements, we cannot deny his impact on today's culture. Now that he is a professed born again Christian, people are talking about God and their salvation. In this episode we explore if Kanye really got saved? Should we look past his previous actions and behavior or should we see a man that God is working on. Great episode!
First off, let us appreciate all the veterans who sacrifice everything to make sure that we can be free in this country. On this episode I sat down with my good friend US Navy veteran Ryan Davis. We talk about how he kept his faith while being miles away from home surrounded by water. We also discuss the struggles and victories he had while serving his country and how he had to depend on God. Lastly....we discuss if Kanye West is really saved? Listen to this amazing episode and Happy Veterans Day to everyone. Be blessed and enjoy!
For the christian woman, it is agreed upon that there are slim pickins' when it comes to finding a mate. Although church is a great place to find a husband, sometimes the men that go to your local church are not who they portray themselves to be (not all). In this episode I sat down with my friends Ms. Natalya and Ms. Alexis and picked their brains about what it is they are looking for in a man. They talk about horror stories, disappointments and the standards they have for a mate. Great conversation with a lot of laughs and candor! If you are single man and have been wondering what a woman wants....this episode is for you!!!
Meet my good friend Ralph. Ralph was a son of the church but got into some trouble. After being arrested he was facing 45 years in prison. While in prison, he stayed connected to God and was able to turn his life around to the glory of God. Listen as he tells his story on how God made a desperate situation a blessed situation.
This episode was fun but serious at the same time. The image of the American family now includes single parents. Although they are doing it on their own, single mothers especially make things happen and have helped mold some of the greatest people in history. On this episode we discuss with my friend Lauren how she handles the adversities associated with being a single parent but still coming out with victory!
This was a touchy episode. With the decline in marriages in the United States and the increase in divorce, a lot of people are choosing to just live together. What are the benefits/consequences of living together before marriage? Is it a sin? What if there is or is not a plan of moving to the next level. As Christians we how should we approach this matter. There are tons of opinions about this and we would love to hear from you. Guest Hosts Ms. Ashley, host of the upcoming "Black Girl Memos Podcast". First of all, I apologize for the audio not being the best. What I will say was that we had a great discussion on church traditions. Do they really help us? Is it a form of bondage? Can there ones that we can keep and ones that we should discard? I and the daper don Vince Lamar discuss this on another episode of "If the Truth Be Told."
What happens when you get a room full of preachers together to talk about their journey into ministry? You hear all different stories about how they did and did not want to be a preacher. You also will hear how God gave them a responsibility that they could not run away from. We sat down and spoke to Pastor Ben Robinson of Westside Church of God in Christ, Eld. Nathaniel Carter of Salem Rest Church of God in Christ and Asst. Pastor Thaddeus Hannah of Greater Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ. Each one of their stories are unique and I believe they will encourage and bless you. This episode was very controversial. Temptation is something that we all deal with from time to time. Vince Lamar and I sit down in the booth and talk about what temptation is and how to withstand it. We also discuss can men and women be best friends. This was an explosive episode. Listen if you dare!

I'm always a fan of building with different people from all over. I had the esteemed opportunity to sit down with the hilarious Eric and Seth from the Milwaukee based Sweats & Suits Podcast. The leaders of the "Bougie Hangout" spoke with us about pop culture, views on church and why preachers are cussin' online? My guest co-host J. Anthony hung out with us and offered his take on topics also. This episode dropped outside of the normal schedule due to one of my favorite holidays Father's Day. I sat down with my dad to talk about how we can be better men/father's in our home, church and community. Single mothers have been doing an amazing job but wouldn't it be awesome if they didn't have to carry the full load of moving a family forward. This is not a man bashing episode but it is a call to action to be better. Pops didn't pull any punches so this isn't for the faint of heart!
Everyone has pet peeves. This episode myself, the daper don Vince Lamar and Sister Sunday School (Ms. Keysha) discuss what our pet peeves are dealing with church, work and home. What grinds your gears? Who gets on your nerves. This was a fun episode and we hope you enjoy!
Crazy episode. Ms. Jasmine is back and we are discussing gender bias in the church. Why are some things ok for one group and not ok for another? Is it ok to dress a certain way when coming to God's house? We talk about this and other current events in this episode of "If the Truth Be Told"! ps: Please excuse the choir rehearsal going on in the background.
This was an interesting episode. So many people who have or is going to church has experienced some kind of church hurt. Many people have left church due to being mistreated by another. Should you let church hurt stop you? What do you do if you have experience church hurt? The daper don Vince Lamar and Ms. Shanel talk about these questions and other current events. Take a listen....I dare you!
In the United States, the average life span of a marriage is 8 years. As a millennial commitment on that level is extremely scary. Also, once you jump the broom you may be filled with regret. On this episode, I have my close friends Sheldon & Celeste Cuffie sit down and talk candidly about getting married at the tender age of 18. We discuss their humble beginning to where God has blessed them at now, 26 years later. This episode will bless you to see that marriage is a great thing if you just stay committed. Enjoy! In this episode we sit down with pastor, author and songwriter Pastor Micaiah J. Young. We talk about his 35 year journey searching for his biological father and how God stepped in when his father stepped out. How can you minister to others if you still have wounds from your past? How can you forgive someone who deserted you? How can God replace rage and anger with His peace and forgiveness. This was an episode that will truly minister to the broken places in your life. Please read his story in the book "Made In His Image...But His Shadow is All I've Seen" and listen to his song "I Am a Son" at his website www.mjamesyoung.com.
Staying on topic was truly a task in this episode. In the booth we have the daper don Vince Lamar and the lovely Ms. Jasmine talking about whether or not we are losing a generation to streaming church services. Do you have to physically be in church? Can you be saved while watching church from an Ipad in Starbucks. We talk about this and other current events on this crazy episode.
This episode I reunite with OG podcaster Ms. Ashley as we talk about Godly friendships. What constitutes a good friend? Why should you have boundaries in your friendships? Can you call yourself a good friend? We explore these questions and talk about current events on this amazing episode.
No, it's not the classic Notorious B.I.G song but we are in the same vein. As Christians, are we allowed to have conflict with others? What is the difference between holding a grudge and just eliminating toxic people, especially in church? Although we are called to love everybody, do we have to like them? My homie Vince Lamar is back and we are discussing this and current topics in this episode "What's Beef!"
