Join me on a journey of learning how to holistically love God, ourselves, and those around us. Including the difficult people… which somedays might be us. The Bible tells us to love God with our heart, soul, mind, & strength (physical body). This means w
Maybe your fox is a simple distraction… It comes in and causes you to believe one little lie, and then another, and the next thing you are questioning who you are, what you are doing, and if God can even use you…. The beauty of the fox is deceiving. They may appear innocent, but they are destructive.
How many times do you discredit yourself instead of stepping into what God is calling you to do? This podcast has hard-hitting thoughts about why we discredit ourselves & asking if we really trust God enough to walk in faith. Buckle up & join me for this ride!
No matter your past, God wants to redeem your future! Paul was murdering Christians, yet God selected him to be His chosen instrument to carry His name before the Gentiles, kings, & children of Israel. God Redeems. God does not cancel.
Intimacy requires time & communication. You must allow that someone in and that person comes to know every beauty mark and every scare. Do you fear letting God into your innermost parts? Will you allow God to eliminate every gap of space between you?
What are you consuming? What are you tasting, seeing, hearing, touching, & smelling? What you consume influences your thoughts, mood, energy, appearance, and views on God, people, & yourself? How often do you stop to consider how the things you consume impact you.
Today we are going to be talking about physical movement, working out, & the importance of keeping your body in shape. How are you being a good steward of the body God has given you? If your body is the temple & the only vehicle that allows you to love God & others, how well are you taking care of yourself?
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.” – Matthew 11:28-30 The Power of REST is that it requires us to surrender to God. BUILDING HEALTHY ACCOUNTABILITY When we are exhausted, our fuse from happy to pissed off can be one trigger away. Building healthy accountability starts with each of us taking a long look in the mirror and acknowledges our own sin, toxicity, pain, unhealthiness. As we become more self-aware we actually care more about those around us. We aren't just conscious of our own needs and desires, but we are more in touch with the needs of others. We grow in compassion, empathy, patience, & love. Full Notes, Challenge, Questions: https://focusflip.wordpress.com/
What if being an everyday millionaire was based on the people you serve instead of the money in your bank account? What if leveling up is doing less so you can have more time to think, have more time to process hurt in your life, or have more time to love other people? What if He wants you to go to places that seem lower than your comfort zone, to see His children's needs, and pour His love on them? Show Notes, Scriptures, etc: CLICK HERE.
Many times there is a shame is put around doubt or questioning what God is doing. Naturally, we ask "why?" Think about a child when they first start asking questions. Their first question is typically why? God is NOT afraid to answer our questions. Many times, I think He would love us to ask more questions instead of numb our feelings or ignore our feelings. Elijah and Moses are two men I gravitate towards because they are doing awesome miracles of God, yet they also question why God chose them. SCRIPTURES & NOTES: CLICK HERE
We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Friends, in your severe trials, what fruit are you producing? Their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. Ask yourself, "Why am I thinking this?" "What is this saying about me that I need to entertain these thoughts?" What if we are looking for the wrong type of distinguishment? What if God actually knows how to utilize your strengths better than you do? What if following God's presence would bring us more peace and an extraordinary life? Notes + Scriptures: Click Here.
What if Jesus' final prayer for believers became our daily prayer? Today we are breaking down Jesus' final prayer in the Garden Gethsemane before He was crucified. The words He chose to pray are transformational, selfless, and focused on His goal. What would our lives looked like if we constantly considered that if we call ourselves Christian's we are claiming to be children of God. Children of God are representatives of God. They are carriers of Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, goodness, patience, self-control, & faithfulness. Read all the scriptures & notes click here.
Will you partner with God and come into agreement with Him that these bones can and will live? My immediate list of dry bones looked like this: A tornado hitting my city COVID – the shutdown of everything Hurricane winds hitting our city The racist acts A lot of other personal things The election and all the chaos that brought us A bomb going off on Christmas Day in Nashville Then the capital attack. CAN THESE BONES LIVE? WILL YOU PUT ASIDE EVERY DOUBT, FEAR, & DISAPPOINTMENT TO COME INTO A PLACE OF EXPECTATION, GREAT FAITH, & AUTHORITY? Will you begin prophesying to the dead bones to live? What's the chapter in your life you keep revisiting? Good or bad, where are you getting stuck? Maybe this is the year you start saying goodbye to your past and allowing yourself to start living in the present, so you can begin dreaming about your future. Breaking down Romans 12:9-21, especially this section: Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Or willing to do menial work. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Do your actions prove that you believe what you say you believe?
We try to 'figure out our lives' based on who we are. What can we accomplish? What is our strength? What if we have it all wrong? What if we need to 'figure our lives' based on who God is? “Therefore, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh so that you may lead My people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. But Moses asked God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” He answered, “I will certainly be with you.”
Do I trust him when the opportunities keep shutting? Do I trust Him when I see others excelling and I feel like I'm spinning in circles? I don't know what you are going through right now. I don't know how painful the holiday season is for you. I don't know what your past story is that is whispering that God isn't faithful. He can handle your anger. He can handle you coming to him scared, and mad. He can handle your disappointment. He wants to prove to you that despite what you see, He will always be faithful to His Word.
God uses the common details of your life to set you up for a perfect appointed time of grace. Isaiah 43:19, "Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert." How many times does God ask us to do something and you say 'NO' because it's uncomfortable or inconvenient? What if your obedience has nothing to do with you but could be the miracle that someone else has been praying for?
It's more than a name change, it's an identity change. Our words, the words of others, if repeated in our minds & hearts become can become our beliefs. Our words become our beliefs and our actions follow our beliefs. HOWEVER. Only you can allow words to have that power over you. What name or names have others tried to give you? What name or names have you tried to give yourself? What is the name God has given you? Proverbs 18:21: “Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit—you choose.”
If you don't understand what you need to be saved from, how do you actually understand your need for a Savior? We are going back to the basics and talk about what 'truth' & 'sin' actually is. I'll share about the parallel between Elijah calling God fire from heaven & Jesus dying on the cross. We'll talk about the blessings that come out of obeying the 10 commandments. I'll be sharing much more than what I've listed, but you'll have to listen to hear it!
When I took a deep look into the mirror I realized that I believed God would fail me the way other people did… Reading from Matthew 6:19-34 3 Questions: 1.When you say, “God is my provider,” do your actions, or reactions to circumstances, match your words? 2.Do you believe that God never fails? Do you believe that will never fail you? 3. Listen to the podcast to find out. ;) I'd love to hear from you, you can find me on Facebook or Instagram @justchristianw. Feel free to message me if you have questions or you want to share thoughts about today's episode.
God sees you and loves you in the middle of your circumstances. In the place of feeling neglected or abandoned, He is with you. In this podcast, we will talk about Hagar in Genesis 16:7-14. We will talk about how God takes us back to the place we were hurt, so He can completely heal everything. He doesn't do partial healings; He does whole healings.
Today, we break down Philippians 4:5-7. I will share 3-key elements of this scripture, along with a couple of basic-steps to calm you when anxiety is coming on. Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 3 Keys Elements in this verse: 1. God doesn't want us to pick and choose the situations we take to Him. He wants us to go to Him in EVERY situation. Don't be anxious about ANYTHING! 2. Come with Thanksgiving. We received the answer to our prayer, yet we are already thanking God for what he's going to do. 3. God's peace transcends ALL understanding.
What is Love? In today's episode, we will be talking about love. The most overused word, the most painful word, or the most beautiful word. This word is one of the most powerful words, yet have we taken away that power? We are in a society that tells us that LOVE is simply something you fall in and out of. Love is circumstantial. What if we have bought into an incorrect understanding of love? What if that's why we struggle with loving God, ourselves, & others. I want us to have a Biblical understanding of this word & where it came from. Final Scripture: Song of Songs 1:8 (TPT) Listen, my radiant one— if you ever lose sight of me, just follow in my footsteps where I lead my lovers. Come with your burdens and cares. Come to the place near the sanctuary of my shepherds. Questions to think about this week: 1. What if the fulfillment you've been looking for is in Jesus? 2. What is Jesus is actually the satisfaction you've always been longing for? 3. What if you've been looking for love, commitment, & approval in all the wrong places? 4. What would it hurt to take the risk on Jesus? I want to hear your feedback about LOVE GOD. LOVE YOURSELF. LOVE PEOPLE. Join me on a journey of learning how to holistically love God, ourselves, and those around us. Including the difficult people… which somedays might be us. The Bible tells us to love God with our heart, soul, mind, & strength (physical body). This means we should also love and take care of our heart, soul, mind, & strength (physical body). In this podcast, we will uncover the depths of who the Bible says God is, discover our identity in God, and learn what it really means to love others as we love ourselves. We will have uncomfortably hard conversations about loving people - including discussions on racism, women's rights, and other topics that many attempt to avoid, but I can't ignore. Together, we will learn a biblically holistic approach to living our daily life.
