TEA TIME, 9min., USA Directed by B.T. Goldman A detective interrogates a strange elderly Englishman about a missing person in his neighborhood. https://www.instagram.com/cybereggproductions/ https://www.instagram.com/b.t.goldman/ Get to know the filmmaker: What motivated you to make this film? I hadn't directed a project of my own in over a year, and I was at a wrap party for a short film that I was an extra in (SPRINKLES, directed by the Andrew Korzenik, written by Riley Stockard, and produced by Sky Mattioli, all great talents). I tend to be off in my own world a bit at parties, and the image of a wild, tuxedo-laden man forcing tea on a guest at a table in an empty room came into my head. It was kind of out of nowhere, and seemed like a really simple, filmable idea for an unsettling story. It was an eerie, but also amusing to me since I grew up with an English father (who naturally was cast as the Englishman in this film). From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film? I initially had the idea around September 2023, we filmed in February 2024, and I had the final edit in December 2024, so it was a total of about 15 months from conception to completion. How would you describe your film in two words!? Uncomfortably funny. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film? It was probably the audio editing. It really felt like everything came together fairly easily, everyone who worked on the film is a close friend or relative. Eric Alcaraz, our incredible cinematographer, is well educated in audio engineering and really saved me with that when I was editing. Jase, Zach, and Jill confront the two main reasons many people don't trust Jesus, even though they might be a hard pill to swallow. Jase shares a chaotic moment from a teen camp where the crowd lost it over a sex talk but went silent when he shifted to the resurrection. The guys explore John 10, Jesus' claim to be both the door and the shepherd, and what it really means to live the abundant life now, not just in eternity. In this episode: John 10; John 11, verse 25; Matthew 28, verses 18–20; John 4, verse 26; John 9, verses 35–41; John 16, verses 7–11; Galatians 4, verse 19; Galatians 1, verse 8; 2 Peter 1, verses 3–4 “Unashamed” Episode 1120 is sponsored by: Upgrade your wallet today! Formosa: Fulcrum of the Future? An invasion of Taiwan is uncomfortably likely and potentially catastrophic. We should research better ways to avoid it. TLDR: I forecast that an invasion of Taiwan increases all the anthropogenic risks by ~1.5% (percentage points) of a catastrophe killing 10% or more of the population by 2100 (nuclear risk by 0.9%, AI + Biorisk by 0.6%). This would imply it constitutes a sizable share of the total catastrophic risk burden expected over the rest of this century by skilled and knowledgeable forecasters (8% of the total risk of 20% according to domain experts and 17% of the total risk of 9% according to superforecasters). I think this means that we should research ways to cost-effectively decrease the likelihood that China invades Taiwan. This could mean exploring the prospect of advocating that Taiwan increase its deterrence by investing in cheap but lethal weapons platforms [...] ---Outline:(00:13) Formosa: Fulcrum of the Future?(02:04) Part 0: Background(03:44) Part 1: Invasion -- uncomfortably possible.(08:33) Part 2: Why an invasion would be bad(10:27) 2.1 War and nuclear war(19:20) 2.2. Public corruption used to be a congressman hiding $90,000 in his freezer. Now, we have a president taking "me time" to rake in $40 million from a Chinese crypto billionaire who was facing fraud charges under POTUS 46. And that's just a drop in the bucket of some of Trump's recent haul. Of course, today's FBI will do nothing about it, and his buddies at the top of the bureau are instead focusing on celebrities who are definitely not Team Trump, or a person who posted a benign beach meme about 47. Meanwhile, the FBI has been ordered to redirect resources to deportations, raising serious questions about whether counterterrorism and counterintelligence—the agency's main priorities since 9/11—are being neglected. You might remember, I was on top of the UVA Basketball coach search from the get-go, being the first to tell you, among other things, way back in December, that Ryan Odom was one of the top candidates getting a look from the powers-that-be. I only know that kind of stuff because people in the know tell me that kind of stuff. I wish I was just that smart intuitively. Nope. Have you noticed that I haven't had a lot to offer lately on the transfer portal? It's because the people in the know don't know, either, why the flow of guys into the program has come to a halt.

In this uncomfortable conversation with myself (and with you, of course), I share how my experience of ADHD and autism has shaped my perspective on diversity and differences in our world. In this episode, I discuss the balance between the world adapting to difference and diversity, and how we, recognising ourselves as diverse due to a mental or physical diagnosis or difference, can find the resources and tools to support us in our continued engagement with the world—not to fix or change who we are, but to empower us.with love,EmmaThis article is part of my Monday Monologuing series, where I share about the things currently on my mind in an in-formal way, it's my intention to open a space for curious, contemplative, and connected communication with one another in a supportive environment.

While the movie "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" is not necessarily preachy in nature Paul Asay with Plugged In describes it well as a sweet-spirited Christmas classic. Paul wants you to know this film does something that Jesus did back in the day: It calls out the most pharisaical among us. It reminds us, uncomfortably perhaps, that the very people we tend to avoid are exactly the people we should embrace; especially during the Christmas season. Between her debut album, Buckle Bunny, her appearance on the song “Blackbiird” off of Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter album, and her feature on the new Twisters film soundtrack, Tanner Adell has cemented herself as a country music star—and she's just getting started. Today on Nice Talk, she's chatting about moving to Nashville with a couple hundred dollars in her pocket, developing her unapologetically glam style, and how her fellow country music ladies support one another.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
I am really excited to invite you to our newly created "Uncomfortably, Beautifully Human" book club! You can join and find out all the information here: https://lu.ma/o2mkwlbr We'll start on the 12th of September with a maximum of 20 individuals. We'll have one call a month with a specific theme and book to read, and a community WhatsApp chat to stay connected between calls. This is for those of you for whom reading is not only a hobby, but a way to connect more intimately with life. For those who see reading as a method of bringing more emotion, depth, and joy to our human experience. The donation is £12 for a 6-month membership, and during our first call together, we'll decide on a cause or project we'd like to donate all of the money from your payment to, supporting people who don't have access to books. Thank you for reading this article or listening to the podcast. I greatly appreciate all of you that engage with and listen to what I share. If you'd like to support the work I do, you can leave a 5-star review on either Apple or Spotify. This week's invitations, if you'd like to actively get involved, you can either:what theme would you like me to share a poem about next week?
