Mental. Health. Matters. I’m so passionate about making more NOISE about this—regularly, because I believe it’s the only way that we can begin to break the stigmas—by having the conversations! The Be Ruthless Show is a place where we’ll be having the
The Be Ruthless Show podcast, hosted by Samantha Ruth, is a powerful and much-needed platform that brings the health part of mental health out of the darkness and into the light. Samantha does an incredible job of shattering the stigma surrounding mental health and creating a community of healing. The conversations she initiates are honest, straightforward, and tackle important issues that society often avoids. By addressing these topics head-on, Samantha helps to normalize mental illness and lets her listeners know that they are not alone in their struggles.
One of the best aspects of The Be Ruthless Show podcast is Samantha's ability to engage in meaningful conversations with her guests. She brings on accomplished individuals who openly discuss their own mental health challenges, providing hope and inspiration to listeners. This podcast serves as a reminder that even successful people face mental health issues and that seeking help is a sign of strength rather than weakness. Samantha's background as a psychologist adds depth to the discussions, as she combines academic knowledge with personal experiences to provide valuable insights.
Another highlight of this podcast is its relevance in today's world. With the global mental health crisis growing exponentially, it has never been more important to have open conversations about mental health. The Be Ruthless Show addresses these issues head-on and provides actionable take-home insights for listeners looking to improve their mental health.
While it may be difficult to find any negative aspects of this podcast, one potential drawback could be the heavy focus on personal stories and experiences. While these stories are necessary for breaking down barriers surrounding mental health, some listeners may prefer a more balanced approach with a mix of personal stories and expert advice or research-based information. However, this is subjective and ultimately depends on individual preferences.
In conclusion, The Be Ruthless Show is an exceptional podcast that tackles important conversations about mental health in a refreshing way. Samantha Ruth is an incredible host who brings a sensitive and empathetic approach to discussing mental health issues with her guests. The podcast's impact on the lives of its listeners is evident through the heartfelt testimonials and reviews. On Sunday - January 18th, Griefhab turns 5! Five!Five years ago, Griefhab started as an idea. Today, it's a more than a community. On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I reflect on what's changed from then until now, what grief has taught me in real time, and what I want you to know if you're still trying to find your footing after loss. This episode is about truth, love, and learning how to live again without pretending you're “over it.”In this episode, we talk about:What it means to keep living while still missing themThe shift from “What's wrong with me?” to “What happened to me?”Why “closure” isn't the goal and what actually helpsHow grief changes you, and why “different” doesn't mean “broken”What it looks like to ask for support without needing to be “fixed”A guided moment to help you honor who (or what) you missRemember, You can reach out anytime:sam@griefhab.orgJoin the Griefhab Family https://www.facebook.com/groups/griefhab7Join Team Ruthless - for multiple support groups every week and EVERY holiday! https://samantharuth.com/team-ruthlessBecome a Faces of Grief: Surviving Pet Loss Author:https://samantharuth.com/apply-to-be-an-author

In this final episode of the year, I explore what it really means to expect the unexpected, especially when grief and life don't follow a neat timeline. Marking the eight-year anniversary of losing Jim, I share honest reflections on how unpredictable waves can still hit, why “being strong” doesn't mean being unaffected, and how readiness matters more than control. With practical, real-world perspective, I offer a grounded way to move into the new year without pressure or toxic positivity, focusing instead on anchors that help you keep going when life gets messy.Join us at Shorts Brewery in Elk Rapids on January 7th for Beers for Tears Benefit Bingo -And if you can't make it, One meal can make a difference❣️On January 7th, Panda Express is donating 28% of online orders to Griefhab — helping us support people through grief, loss, and the days and challenges no one sees.Use code 9011147 in the fundraiser box at checkout! You can reach out anytime: sam@griefhab.orgRemember to Join the Griefhab Family:https://www.facebook.com/groups/griefhab7Join Team Ruthless - for multiple support groups every week and EVERY holiday! https://forms.gle/Zw639P7htwg2qFDH6Become a Faces of Grief: Surviving Pet Loss Author:sam@griefhab.org

When people feel protective, they can accidentally turn into a wrecking ball. In this episode, I discuss what it looks like to lead with love when your work is being questioned, your name is being echoed, or the internet is doing what it does best: jumping to conclusions and throwing stones. This is a boundary episode, a mental health episode, and a humanity episode. Not a callout. Not a pile-on. A reset. What we cover:How “support” can quietly become harm when people attack others in your nameThe difference between clarity and crueltyWhy online outrage spreads so fast (and why it feels so satisfying)How rumors and partial stories turn into digital verdictsWhat to do instead of dogpiling, harassing, or escalatingA practical framework for responding with values, not adrenalineKey takeawaysYou can protect what you build without becoming unsafe.Accountability doesn't require humiliation. Before intensity, identity: make sure you have the right person, right source, and real context. If you love someone, don't attack people in their name.Repair is leadership: delete, own it, correct it, replace it with something helpful.

If you've been feeling more tired, foggy, or emotional lately — you're not imagining it. Science shows that seasonal changes can intensify grief, depression, and anxiety. A University of Michigan study found that on high-pollen days, suicide deaths rose by 7.4%, and among those already struggling with mental health, that number climbed to 8.6%.On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I unpack how physical triggers like allergies, shorter days, and disrupted sleep impact emotional healing — and how to care for your mind and body when both are carrying the weight of grief.Remember that you can reach out anytime:sam@griefhab.orgJoin the Griefhab Community:https://www.facebook.com/groups/griefhab7Join Team Ruthless - for multiple support groups every week and EVERY holiday!https://forms.gle/Zw639P7htwg2qFDH6Become a Faces of Grief: Surviving Pet Loss Author:sam@griefhab.orgPre register for Healing Together Through the Holidays https://mailchi.mp/6ba0911aecfb/92dv5u9dkj

California just passed a first-of-its-kind law requiring social media platforms to display mental health warning labels for users under 18 — a move that's being compared to cigarette warnings. On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I break down what the law really does, whether it will make a difference, and what actually helps when it comes to protecting young minds. This isn't just about teens — it's about all of us learning to set boundaries in a world that profits from our attention.Because awareness is a start — but action changes everything. It's also Mental Illness Awareness Week, National Inner Beauty Day (a day supporting human trafficking survivors) and Ageism Awareness Day. And so many people hide their stories. As we remember 9/11, I can't help but feel like this world hasn't come very far. On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I honor those lost on 9/11 - as well as those lost yesterday. Charlie Kick was fatally shot while addressing an audience on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah yesterday while a student at Evergreen High School in Colorado wounded two classmates before taking his own life. This is the world we live in. There are countless other tragedies that didn't make the news, and while guns are the issue, hate is the root of the problem. Growth comes in many forms - some of it consciously, some unconsciously, and some even comes from others. On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss how even the messy parts - the rumors, the gossip, the hate — can actually fuel growth. Without realizing it, those who try to tear us down are the very people building our resilience, patience and strength. Because growth doesn't always come wrapped in pretty packages. July is National Bereaved Parents Awareness Month - an invisible awareness month that everyone should know about! On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, bereaved parent Jason Tuttle shares his story of living with pain and surviving loss.Jason is a married father of two kids with multiple mental and physical disabilities (some rare). He was a Stay-at-Home Dad for 12 years until his son suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from issues related to his needs on 01/28/22. Since the day his son passed, Jason created a website, FB blog, and community (Letters To Zachary) on grief that details his raw, unfiltered and open grief journey from a male's/father's perspective. It is a place where men can feel vulnerable enough to share their emotion, empower women to help the grieving men in their lives and see that it is OK to share vulnerability through Jason's example. Healing is Hard. Facts. It's less hard with the right people in your world. And as painful as grief is, it also instantly connects us. I'm so unbelievably grateful to have today's guest on The Be Ruthless Show in my life. Jess Marie is a single mom to a teenage son. She works for the county at the local DSS, primarily with the homeless population and she has another part time job in a similar field. She started her podcast in June of 2022 called Unapologetically Overcoming. It discusses topics that usually have a negative stigma associated with them. Her hope is that by talking about such topics, people will see that they too can overcome difficult situations and hopefully the stigmas can be eliminated. She has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. She's also been a victim of domestic violence & gone through other traumatic experiences, such as the sudden loss of her younger sister, but has been able to overcome them and has found happiness again. Jess launched her own life coaching business early in 2024 called Unapologetic Life Coaching LLC. She offers services that focus on self love, mindset transformation, gratitude practices, & how to overcome barriers so you can live a full, authentic, unapologetic life. She is currently in the process of becoming a certified grief coach. Since the unexpected loss of her sister, she has discovered new purpose in helping others navigate grief and loss, as it is vital to the healing process. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to concerts, & traveling. She's also passionate about advocating for racial/social justice, women's rights, and human rights. Tune in to hear our important conversation about healing YOUR way. We all understand feeling out of sorts when things are difficult. People are supportive during tough times. But the world celebrates certain things in life.... traditions and accomplishments we work so hard for. Feeling out of sorts is an "unusual" reaction in these situations, right? On today's episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss emotions other than joy and happiness after celebrations or victories. Exhaustion. Anxiety. Depression. In a world that expects the celebration, people experiencing any other type of emotion can be left feeling "different" and like something is "wrong with them." Tune in for a conversation about how wrong the world is for NOT making spaces for these people and these conversations! And remember, you can reach out anytime to:sam@samantharuth.comJoin the Griefhab Community :https://www.facebook.com/groups/griefhab7Join Team Ruthless - for multiple support groups every week and EVERY holiday (including St. Patrick's Day)https://samantharuth.com/team-ruthlessLearn more about becoming a certified coach:sam@samantharuth.com
