You're listening to Bardtenders! In this episode of "The Mixing Glass", Devin Chapnick returns to discuss advocacy for our peers in the hospitality industry, creating positive work culture, and "The Hero's Journey & Hospitality". Devin Chapnick is the owner of Convenient Cocktail Co. The idea of Convenient Cocktail Co. was formed in the Fall of 2022. Devin moved there in 2021 with his then soon-to-be wife after years of working in the Denver bar scene. Devin had plans of opening his own bar and settling down. Devin met his future business partner Josh while working at a local cocktail bar called No Hard Feelings and soon discovered that they were also neighbors! While drinking one night at one of their home bars, Josh mentioned that he wanted to try to get a dehydrated garnish company started, and pitched it to Devin to partner with him. At first, Devin was skeptical, but for the next three days, it was the only thing he could think about. Devin came up with the name, a design for the logo, and three weeks after that - they were in business! Devin's wife Caitlin was several months pregnant at the time, and from the first time we spoke about having a family Devin always said that he'd want to be part of the Stay at Home Dad's Club. Over a year and a half later, Dad doesn't stay home anymore, but Finn does come to the shop 4/5 days a week and they cherish this special way that they have shaped their lives.Devin feels truly lucky to be able to connect with people in the specific context of this profession, despite the myriad hardships that all hospitality professionals must face on a day-to-day basis. You can follow Devin on social media @Devin.Drinks and you can follow Convenient Cocktail Co. on social media @convenientcocktailco----------Don't miss out on any of the action! Life looks very different when you're a Stay at Home Dad or a S.A.H.D.. You can have feelings of a societal letdown, being left behind, and not living up to the expectations of being a man. We talk about life after a miscarriage for a dad, support groups for dads, dad groups, At Home Dad Con, and much more. Brock grew up in Huntington, IN, and has lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, for the last 20+ years. Brock has been married for just over 16 years to your wife and two kids: a boy and a girl, one just finished 4th grade and one 1st grade; he is active in his church and Christian, and he organized and continues to run a dads group locally that has weekly and monthly hangouts, and is also a semi-avid cyclist as his schedule allows him to be. What does it mean to be a dad to Brock? It means I have two mirrors walking around me, showing my insecurities and pushing me to be the best dad I can be, but they know I am not perfect, which makes life easier to be a parent. This is a fun one folks, three of the funniest comics together on this Comedy Round Table podcast. We have comedy Screen Writer Peter Gualke, comic-musician Jaz Kaner, and my Friend Bob Worley. All of whom were very successful Headliners back in the day. They each pivoted to other areas after standup. Peter wrote the movie "Strange Wilderness" and has two books out..."Unseen America". Jaz operates his own Surf School in So Cal called "Banzai Surf School" and Bob was a stay at Home Dad and now is a professional script punch-up writer. It is an interesting interview with some tragic stories, and lots-o-Laughs...enjoy!Hosted by R. Scott EdwardsSupport the show
