Episode 90 is here & we are delighted to welcome Kate Butler to the show to celebrate. Kate is relatively new to LCI and to improv in general, but she already has a great instinct for it. She has been absorbing all of the improv that she can and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. The chat is very improv centric, but we do hear a little about her training as a therapist and about her passion for singing. Theres loads to enjoy, so sit back, relax and grab a brew as we find out all about Kate's true story about making stuff up.

But I have these women in my life, by my side, every single day to help me figure it out. And yesterday was a tough one. Some of you might remember that I had major back surgery a month before Jim passed away. Stemming from a car accident that I was in 8 days before our wedding. That was impossible to go through with Jim. So when I found out yesterday that I have to do more than physical therapy. More than acupuncture. I was FULL of emotions. Hey there, I'm Dr. Angela Williamson and today I share how self-care contributes to my happiness.    Transcript:   Hey there. You're listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today I'm taking over. I'm Angela Williamson. And Katie asked me this question, how does self care contribute to your happiness?    We should learn a lot about self care and the importance of it, especially with everything that we've been through the last few years. Self care is important and it's not wrong. So what things have I learned to do that helped me move forward to continue with happiness?   In an earlier episode, I talked about my lowest point and where I had to chase my happiness. But you know why I had to chase my happiness? It wasn't just the things that were happening around me, but because I lost the importance of self care.   With all of my happiness journey and the things that I've been sharing with you, I learned the importance of self care. So what do I do?   I actually have a group of friends I call my Zumba buddies, and I do Zumba. Now, I do actually stay in the back, and people think that's so funny that I'm always in the back, because most of my legacy has been spent talking about Rosa Parks and books.   But there's a reason why. It took me a little while to get coordinated to do Zumba. But it really helped. And it wasn't just the exercise. I mean, exercise is important, but it's the relationship that I've been able to form with the most beautiful women and some men in that group.   And so I want to encourage all of you to do something that is in the realm of self care. It may not be Zumba. It may be walking, which I also do. I do that with my husband, and we did that during the pandemic. And there's nothing to strengthen a relationship than to be on a self care journey with the people that you love.   So it is okay. And if you've forgotten a little bit about self care over the last few months and that happens, go back to it and let Katie know what your self care routine is, because we always want to hear from you.   I can't believe this week has gone by so fast. Thanks so much for listening all week, but catch another episode of Everyday Happiness tomorrow, because I know something wonderful will be there for you. Take care.   About Dr. Angela Williamson:    Angela Sadler Williamson, PhD, is a #1 international best-selling author, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, multiple Telly awards recipient, and former producer and copywriter for major broadcast TV and cable news networks. Hey there, I'm Dr. Angela Williamson and today I share what I'm doing now that brings me happiness.     Transcript:   Hey there, you're listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today I'm Angela Williamson taking over again.   I'm so excited. And Katie asked me this question, what do you do now that brings happiness? What is your big thing?   Well, my big thing now is being an encourager encouraging others. And I am so excited, so blessed to have the platform to do that on Everybody With Angela Williamson.   I am finding these ordinary people all over and I find that they do extraordinary things and I get to highlight those extraordinary things on the show. And that's so important because I find that I get the greatest satisfaction out of elevating others.   Don't you find that too? And I always heard that advice, I don't know about you, but I am in communications and sometimes in communications you get laid off and you thought what am I going to do? I don't have a job. I need to find another job. But I heard this one time that even if you don't have a job, maybe volunteer. Learn to give time to others because what it does is it strengthens you.   And I kept that in the back of my mind. And so when I'm out and I hear people's stories, I want to encourage them and give them a little bit of a platform to share what they do and that life is all about encouraging others.   Reverend Early said this in my documentary, My Life with Rosie. "We are not all going to be here forever". But you know what will be here forever is how we encourage others and how we support others. So that's what really brings me the biggest happiness. And I do think that's what I was prepared to do.   And so my question to you is think about that. What do you do now that brings you happiness? What is your big thing? And don't be shy about it, let us know because when you tell us now, just like I told you, you are helping someone else. And that's all about what this podcast is for and that's why I'm so honored to be part of it.   I don't know what's happening. I eel like I'm on a roll with this fantastic audience. But hey, I'm not done yet. I will be back tomorrow for another episode. I'm here all week, can't wait to chat with you next.   About Dr. Angela Williamson:    Angela Sadler Williamson, PhD, is a #1 international best-selling author, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, multiple Telly awards recipient, and former producer and copywriter for major broadcast TV and cable news networks.
