The Devil's Music with Pleasant Gehman podcast is an absolute gem in the world of storytelling and interviews. Pleasant Gehman, with her infectious personality and genuine passion for art, music, and magic, has crafted a podcast that is both entertaining and inspiring. The combination of her own incredible stories and the captivating guests she brings on makes for an incredible listening experience. Not to mention, the music selection throughout each episode adds another layer of enjoyment.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is definitely Pleasant Gehman herself. She is a master storyteller, bringing her wild experiences and unique perspective to every episode. Her authenticity and no-nonsense approach make her conversations with guests feel intimate and engaging. Additionally, the range of guests she has on the show is impressive - from Belinda Carlisle to Jane Weidlan - each episode offers a fresh perspective on music, culture, and personal journeys.

However, one possible drawback of this podcast is that some episodes may not delve into certain topics as deeply as desired. While each conversation is fascinating in its own right, there may be moments where listeners crave more details or follow-up questions. That being said, this minor flaw does not detract significantly from the overall quality of the podcast.

In conclusion, The Devil's Music with Pleasant Gehman podcast is a must-listen for anyone who enjoys captivating stories, engaging interviews, and a healthy dose of music and occultism. Pleasant Gehman's unique voice (both literally and figuratively) shines through in every episode, leaving listeners feeling like they are right there experiencing these extraordinary tales alongside her. Jeff Drake is the singer and guitarist for The Joneses, which he co-founded with skateboard champion Steve Olson in 1981. Their glam punk sound- thrashy, trashy rock'n'roll that owed as much to The Ramones and New York Dolls as it did the Rolling Stones- made them the darlings of the early 1980's LA underground music scene. They put out a single in 1982 and were featured on the compilation “Hell Comes To Your House Part Two” in 1983, which lead to national touring. Then everything came crashing down when Jeff robbed a bank to feed his  heroin habit. In this episode, hostess Pleasant Gehman and Jeff talk about wild parties and gigs in 1980's Hollywood, being stranded in Amish Country while on tour and the lesbian drug lord couple who contributed to his downfall. They also chat about Jeff's career resurrection. The label Projectile Platters is releasing the entire recorded Joneses' repertoire as a three volume set. Concurrently, his memoir “Guilty: My Life As A Member Of The Joneses, Heroin Addict, Bank Robber And Federal Inmate” is forthcoming from Hozac Press. Jeff's life- and this episode- is almost too wild to believe...but as the saying goes, “You can't make this shit up”. www.pleasantgehman.com Instagram: @princessofhollywood www.facebook.com/pleasant.gehman www.twitter.com/PleasantGehman1 This show is part of Pantheon Podcasts Learn more about your ad choices.
