INTRODUCTION: Defining the OverflowThe Problem: Most believers are trapped in a survival mindset ("just getting by"). When we pray, we usually only ask for enough to cover our immediate need. The Shift: In heaven's economy, God rarely provides just enough. The Big Idea: Overflow doesn't start in your bank account; it starts in your capacity. It starts in your mind. It starts when God makes your vision bigger than your environment.

This Sunday's message is titled “Three Hindrances to Acceleration.”Acceleration is not the same as movement. We can be busy, active, even committed, and still not advancing.Sometimes what slows us down is not external opposition. It is hesitation . It is comparison . It is cynicism toward simple instructions. We may avoid the full picture because it feels too big. We may be carrying exhaustion from past battles. We may already have decided what the next step must look like.Since this is a season of Spirit-led acceleration, then we must identify what has been quietly pressing the brakes in our lives.Let's come ready to reflect, realign, and remove whatever is slowing us down.live.thelightshouse.org streaming 8:00AM tomorrow 22:02:2026

Devotional Reflection:Did you notice the word "constantly" in today's scripture? What does that even mean? It means there was never a time, there is no time, and there will never be a time when Jesus is not loving you. He constantly loves you, regardless of the circumstances. His love doesn't fluctuate based on your behaviour—it's constant, even when you make mistakes. But that's not all. He didn't just stop at loving you—He also loosened you from your sins. In the same breath of love, your sins are cancelled. His love for you drove Him to the cross, where He sacrificed Himself to forgive you. The love of Christ and the forgiveness of sins are inseparable. They are two sides of the same coin.

Loved before time began In John 17:24–26, we get a glimpse of something deeply personal: Jesus praying not only for His disciples, but for all who would one day believe in Him, including us. Right before the cross, when he could have been focused on His own suffering, He turned His eyes to the Father and prayed for our future.  “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory.” That is His heart's desire. That we would one day stand in His presence, face to face, seeing His glory with our own eyes. This isn't just about someday in heaven; it's about knowing that even now we are being drawn into a love so deep and eternal that it started before the world began.Jesus reminds us that the Father loved Him before creation, and that same love is being poured into us. Think about how steady that love is, before time, before our mistakes, before our doubts, God's love was already flowing, and Jesus came so that we could experience it. He doesn't want us to just know facts about God; He wants us to feel the reality of His love living inside us, shaping us, and giving us strength when life feels heavy. This means that no matter what we're facing—loneliness, fear, rejection, confusion—we are never actually abandoned. We are wrapped up in a love that has no end, and Jesus Himself is living within us.

The question: How do I take advantage of what is mine? First by recognising that the blessings of God is not something you inherit by virtue of anymeritorious act on your part. It is a gift from God the moment you become born again. Second, know that though it is your inheritance, walking in it requires your co-operation. It isnot everything that God desires that He gets. For example: God's desire is that all be saved (1 Tim 2:4) but not all are saved. Why? Because of the response to the grace freely given byGod. God's grace makes all things available but our response is crucial on how we enjoywhat God has freely given Third, God functions by principles – and these principles, known, learnt and applied are whatmakes one person enjoys God and the other may not. God is constant in both situations butthe response from each individual to his grace is crucial.

Take Heed How You HearJesus warned: “Take heed how you hear” (Luke 8:18). The “how” speaks of the lens—the paradigm—through which a person hears. This paradigm determines what meaning you draw out of God's Word and even life's situations. How Paradigms Are FormedNo one is born with a fully developed belief system. Our paradigms are shaped over time by: • Life experiences (pleasant or painful), • The words and actions of authority figures (parents, teachers, pastors), • Our interpretation of lived events (what we think those events “mean”), • Personal choices and the need to protect ourselves from harm. The mind, seeking safety, often chooses the path of least resistance. When repeated, that choice forms a belief. Over time, every decision made in line with that belief strengthens it—until the belief itself becomes a prison.

The word “measure” is from the Greek word“metron” and it is a noun: avessel for receiving and determining the quantity of things, whether dry orliquid or a graduated staff for measuring, a measuring rod. What is the measure of our faith? The answer is in Ephesians 2: 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not ofyourselves: it is the gift of God—This means thefaith that saved you is the gift of God. It is from God. That is the measure offaith you were given at salvationSo, the extent of your faith is the extent of the faith of God. Your faith at salvation is from God. Psalm 89:13-15 AMPC13 You have a mighty arm; strong isYour hand, Your right hand is soaring high.14 Righteousness and justice are thefoundation of Your throne; mercy and loving-kindness and truthgo before Your face.15 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to beenvied) are the people who know the joyful sound [who understand and appreciate the spiritual blessings symbolized by the feasts]; they walk, O Lord, in thelight and favor of Your countenance! V14 says:Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face.So when we approach the throne of God, we must have arighteousness consciousness and we must know that God is a God of justice. mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face. What does it mean for something to “go before your face”?This phrase means attendants that walk before someone. So as you approach the king, you assume automatically thatyou have come before the presence of a king that you will receive mercy, loving kindness and truth. NLT describes this as Unfailing love and truth walk beforeyou as attendants. So when we come before the throne of grace, we should expectthis attitude from God. Abraham understood this when he interceded for Sodom &Gomorrah in Gen 18. In Gen 18, Abraham pleaded for the people of Sodom & Gomorrah before God laying claim to the justice and righteousness of God (the two pillars of God's throne)

Part 3 – The Boldness of RighteousnessAbraham was the first recorded prophet in the Bible. God Himself called him so. He prayed over Abimelech and his entire family was saved from barrenness in Gen 20.Today we want to look at how righteousness consciousness empowered or emboldened Abraham to pray for Sodom and Gomorrah!BackgroundImagine you live in a beautiful city – a place where everyone all over the world on paper wishes to live because of its exquisite architecture and facilities but there is one problem. There is no law here or a functioning justice system. You could do whatever you like and no-one would hold you to account. For instance, you could kidnap your neighbour's child and no one will bat an eyelid – and worse the law enforcement officers will not carry out any arrest. And in the few occasions where any arrests were made, the judges always never convicts anyone.Would you love to live in a country like that? Would you be able to sleep a night? Would you invite your loved ones to come live there? If you are in it, would you want to stay?If an opportunity shows up for you to leave, would you not grab with two hands? Now this story I just described was not made up. Once upon a time, there were two cities named Sodom and Gomorrah and the Bible described them as a city filled with wickedness – no law and order and their behaviours were so vile that God Himself had to come and check out what was going on there. So, God as the righteous Judge can't allow this wickedness to continue. He had to do something about it. He had to right the wrong so He sent angels to go and visit the place disguised as humans and bring Him a first hand report. On their way, God stopped over at Abraham's house and Abraham entertained God. It was like 2 friends having a nice time together. It was during this fellowship together that God reiterated to Abraham that within the next 1 year, Abaham would give birth to Isaac. God also changed the name of Abraham and Sarah. Now as God and the angels were leaving, God had a conversation with Abraham – and which is the basis of our text today.Gen 18:16-2516 Then the men got up from there, and looked toward Sodom; and Abraham walked with them to send them on the way. 17 The Lord said, “Shall I keep secret from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do, 18 since Abraham [g]is destined to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him? 19 For I have known (chosen, acknowledged) him [as My own], so that he may teach and command his children and [the sons of] his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is righteous and just, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has promised him.” 20 And the Lord said, “The outcry [of the sin] of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave. 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have acted [as vilely and wickedly] as the outcry which has come to Me [indicates]; and if not, I will know.”22 Now the [two] men (angelic beings) turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord. 23 Abraham approached [the Lord] and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous (those who do right) with the wicked (those who do evil)? 24 Suppose there are fifty righteous [people] within the city; will You really sweep it away and not spare it for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it? 25 Far be it from You to do [h]such a thing—to strike the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right [by executing just and righteous judgment]?”

We have not meditated enough on what it means to be “made” righteous. If we do, the way we pray or even relate to God would be different. In 2 Cor 5:21, the phrase “made righteous” is from the Greek word “gimomai” - and it is a derivative of the English language word “gene”. Since in human context, a child's gender is dermined by the “gene” of the father, so the believer's spiritual gender is determined by the “gene” of God. If your spiritual gene is from God and God is righteous, then it should not be difficult to believe that righteousness is the spiritual gene of the believer. We should never have to have a debate about this or engage in mindless argument. To believe otherwise will lead to spiritual confusion or spiritual gender dysphoria. So, when I hear someone say that a believer is a sinner, they have not believed this truth. Let me show you another scripture in 1 John 3:9. It says: “No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God's nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.”‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ ‭AMPC‬‬The divine sperm determines the gene of the child. God's divine sperm is righteous and holy - and that is what He transferred to the believer at spiritual conception. Such a person can't practice sin. Why? The nature of God permanently abides in him.Rom 5:1 TPT affirms this truth:“Our faith in Jesus transfers God's righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.”A believer's identity is not that of sin. How could it be when he has been born of God? Except we are saying God is a sinner! God forbid! It is a travesty to even have long conversations about this. If you think you are a sinner or a believer who still has a sin nature, you have not believed the scriptures. Religion has convinced us that when we are born again, we are not really made new. We're just a “forgiven version” of the same old person. Then, they go as far as to say that despite the promise of a new heart and spirit, we maintain our old nature alongside what God does in us. Therefore, we don't have a completely new nature; we now have a dual nature: our old sinful nature exists alongside a new nature in Christ. This sets our entire journey with Jesus off course. It means the rest of our life on earth is spent in a struggle between the two natures. That is like someone suffering from MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder)A christian is not revamped in heart and spirit but totally brand new. In the new birth, God doesn't clean our spirit and heart; He makes us new, i.e., a new creation. "New Creation" is "Kainos Ktisis" in Greek and means a creation "not found exactly like this before." or “never been seen before in the history of the universe." Or “superior to what it succeeds"  The Greek word used to describe the new creation is like the same way God created the heavens and the earth from nothing in Gen 1:1.

SummaryFinally, Remember the woman with the issue of blood? Why was she healed? Because she said in her heart “If I touch the hem of His garment, I will be made whole” but have you wondered why that faith came from? It was because of what she had heard about Jesus!Mark 5:24-34: 25And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. What is the first result that the word of God produces? It builds faith in the hearer – as a seed planted in the heart but to produce fail-safe results, it must be heard but it must be heard over and over.

How to make your words empower your expectations.Proverbs 23:18: Surely there is a future [and a reward], Andyour hope and expectation will not be cut off. The word “expectation” is from the Hebrew Word “tik-vaw”  literallymeans a cord (as an attachment or figuratively means expectancy, hope, live, thing that I long for. 1) cord2) hope, expectation2a) hope2b) ground of hope2c) things hoped for, outcomeWhat you long for serves as a cord that is attached to you.It is an outcome that you hoped for. God expects us to have a positiveexpectation. A positive expectation is called “hope” and a negative oneis called “pessimism” which leads to doubt.Let's start with negative expectations. This is how it works:·      Negative expectations often manifest frompessimism and doubt. ·      These doubts lead to hesitancy because theycreate “failure scenarios” in your mind. ·      You expect to fail, and therefore all your decisions and actions willundoubtedly lead you away from your goals and towards failure and mistakes.·      Decisions and actions are premised from thoughts(what you decided in your mind that formed a belief of your heart) and theactions you take on the back of your decision.·      Pessimism + doubt = hesitancy + failure scenarios= negative expectations·      Negative expectations produce decisions andactions that push the goals away into failures and mistakes.
