Later on, the gang calls up Jeff Duncan, columnist Times-Picayune/NOLA.com, to discuss Saints legend Jahri Evans being named a Finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025, the Black & Gold's next HC could be a big fish or a familiar face, and how can the team get back in the win column and rebuild some hope for the fans. Afterwards, the guys connect with Dalton Wasserman, PFF Data Analyst & Co-Host of The PFF College Football Show, to preview the big CFP game going down in the Big Easy next week as the Sugar Bowl CFP Quarterfinal bout between Notre Dame and Georgia will have us (and the rest of the country) on the edge of our seats.
This hour, Mike Hoss, Mike Detillier, and the "Cajun Cannon" Bobby Hebert sound off this Saturday morning from Rouses in the CBD where the guys are discussing the future of the Saints head honcho with the rumor mill already churning out guesses as to who might lead the Saints in 2025, and the guys preview the Saints stacking up against a down and out Raiders team that while having 17 starters injured and sitting 3-12, are 1.5 point favorites to beat the Saints in New Orleans tomorrow.
On today's show, Steve Geller and Charlie Long live from Rouses get us ready to rock for the Saints taking on the Green Bay Packers in some frigid weather at Lambeau Field with temperatures looking to be in the high 20's to low 30's but alas, reports are we are not in store for a snow game... the silver lining is that that gives the Saints a much better shot at pulling off an upset as the Packers look to punch their ticket to the postseason with a win. The guys also discuss the Saints injuries as the team is relying on a lot of rooks in key positions and the Packers are getting back some big names before diving into the Saints sound bank to hear from quarterback Spencer Rattler about what he can do in his first cold weather NFL start, and we hear from head coach Darren Rizzi on what the team to can do to help bolster Rattler's 4th start for the Black & Gold. We also connect with Saints sideline reporter and WWL digital content producer, Jeff Nowak, who helps us make sense of the weather up north and tells us what we should expect to see from the Saints offense tonight.
On today's show, Mike Detillier and Bobby Hebert celebrate the holidays at Rouses in Covington where the guys discuss the big news that broke earlier this week that former Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick has been named the next HC at UNC turning Chapel Hill into "Chapel Bill" and we go over how the NCAA and NIL have fostered a pay-to-play world in college sports and rich alumni can simply pay to have top talent come to their school. Later on, the guys get together with Tulane football sideline reporter and host of "Before the Whistle" podcast, Maddy Hudak, on what the Green Wave can do to beat a hot Florida Gators squad next Friday in their bowl game. Finally, Mike and Bobby call up, David Harrison, Commanders Gameday on Sports Illustrated and host of Locked On Commanders podcast, to recap the mark Jayden Daniels has left on his teammates and the city before going over the key pieces for Washington that will be causing stress for the Who Dat Nation tomorrow.

Jeff Nowak, Saints sideline reporter and WWL Digital Content Producer, calls in from KC, to discuss what the team can do in preventing Chris Jones from destroying the Saints and what the Saints can do to lessen some of the weight on AK's shoulders?
On today's show, Steve Geller and Charlie Long start Saints game day over at Rouses in the CBD previewing the massive list of injuries striking both teams, who we could see step up in the absence of a lot of this Saints O-line, and if the Saints run game can be established using other playmakers so that Alvin Kamara isn't burnt out by Week 8. Jeff Nowak, Saints sideline reporter and WWL Digital Content Producer, calls in from KC, to discuss the unbelievably long list of injuries that BOTH teams are dealing with tonight, what the weather will be like in the open Arrowhead Stadium, and how the Saints can lessen Kamara's usage so he doesn't overheat. It's an EmMajority Report Thursday! She speaks with Daniel Denvir, host of The Dig podcast, housing justice organizer for Reclaim Rhode Island, and alternate uncommitted delegate from Rhode Island to the Democratic National Convention, to discuss his experience so far on the ground at the DNC. Then, she speaks with Susan Rinkunas, contributing writer at Jezebel, to discuss the recent developments in abortion legislation around the country ahead of the election, as well as how abortion is being handled at the DNC. First, Emma runs through updates on the DNC's rejection of a possible Palestinian speaker, Dems' decision to drop the death penalty abolition from their platform, RFK's candidacy, Day 3 of the DNC, Canada's freight rail labor news, Israel's domestic discontent, the continuing genocide in Gaza, and the second raid of the Tate brothers' compound in Romania, before parsing through Tim Walz' well-received speech at last night's DNC. Daniel Denvir then joins, walking through the Uncommitted Delegation's platform and their request made to the DNC to have practically any Palestinian speak at the convention, as well as touching on reactions to the unsurprising – yet still disheartening – decision to double down on the party's record of anti-Palestinian discrimination (and support for their extermination). He and Emma then step back to assess why their platform so focuses on pressuring Biden for immediate action (rather than Harris for theoretical promises) and why Biden's claimed “negotiations” for a ceasefire are hollow without an immediate arms embargo, before tackling the successful Uncommitted organizing effort to get Harris delegates on board, the importance of pushing this fight on every level of the political spectrum, from grassroots to Congress, and how those of us outside of Chicago can help. Susan Rinkunas and Emma then look to the fights to get abortion rights on the ballots across myriad US states, first tackling the Arkansas Supreme Court's decision to deny ballot access to an amendment over paperwork issues, the major role Montana's referendum can play in helping Democrats' electoral efforts, Arizona's ongoing schemes to defend their use of 1873's Comstock act, and Florida's attempt to undermine democracy. After expanding the SCOTUS' recent decision cutting down a challenge to contraceptive fights, as well as the role of Comstock in the threat of a national abortion ban, Rinkunas wraps up by discussing the important and prevalent role reproductive rights and care access are playing at the DNC. And in the Fun Half: Emma is joined by Brandon Sutton who reflects on an experience at a seminar with Jeremy Corbyn, before they dive deep into the incredibly disheartening commitment by the Democratic establishment to lie to the faces of the US public, the importance of the ongoing protests in Chicago, the hypocrisies of American Empire, and more. They also talk with Mike from the PNW about ongoing NALC contract negotiations and Miranda Mitchell parses through the devastating public health situation in Gaza and the growing risk of a mass polio outbreak. Russell Brand objects to Kamala Harris' performative enjoyment of Doritos, and Bill Maher talks to kids, while drunk, about porn, drugs, and tits, and it goes exactly how you'd think, plus, your calls and IMs! AP correspondent Ben Thomas reports, at the Democratic convention, Hillary Clinton roused Democrats with vision of Kamala Harris on 'other side of that glass ceiling' if elected president.
Look. I love New Orleans as much or more than some. She has her beauties and she has her nightmares. I don't really know how to address this except to address it head on. My husband is a specialist psychiatrist and we cannot keep up with inflation of everything. I'm coming to you very vulnerable right now. I have built a brand around the city that I love so much. Property taxes. Homeowners insurance, (that is really hard to attain.) Car insurance that is laughable to most of the country. A private school system that is lovely but suffocating. How is New Orleans going to handle this? Luckily, we have our friends over at Berkshire and Hathaway And real estate with Steph. Luckily we have professionals that can help us steer and the direction we need to go. Whether it's on the South Shore or in the parish like Chalmette or on the North Shore. Stephanie knows everything and I'm excited to invite you to this conversation, because it is deep..Find everything about our amazing sponsor and representative Stephanie at www.realestatewithsteph.comThen later, we welcome our amazing partners over at Ochsner children's to bring our second segment of EMERGENCY!! Join the boys as the wrap up their discussion of Bernie Chowdhury's, "The Last Dive". It's only fitting to allow this wrap up to serve as a fitting transition from the story of The Rouses and their demise on the newly discovered German U-Boat dubbed, "The U-Who" into the inevitably intertwined story of John Chatterton, Richie Kohler, Bill Nagle, and a host of other well known East Coast wreck divers as they relentlessly pursue their noble mission to identify this mystery submarine.... the story only gets better gang!

This week the boys begin a multi episode discussion of the legendary diving book, "The Last Dive" by Bernie Chowdhury. Even if you haven't read it (do you even dive bruh?) you'll gain fabulous insight into the history & evolution of diving in the early 1990's and technical diving in particular. This is the true story of the Rouses and their tragic demise wreck diving off the US East Coast. As a tech diver himself, Bernie does a fantastic job of portraying the atmosphere of the technical (both cave and wreck) diving community in it's infancy during the late 80's and early 90's. Bernie's excellent telling of the story combined with his explanation of the nuances and details of diving make the book a great read for divers and non-divers alike!

Online grocery is an interesting industry when looking through a technology lens. Retailers operate in a highly competitive market with perishable product that needs smart algorithms and merchandising strategies to maximise sell through. Omnichannel selling stepped us massively during COVID lockdown, and Click & Collect and Ship To Store customer journeys are more important than ever. Add to this mix demands from CPG brands selling via online grocery websites, requiring intelligent digital shelf analytics and merchandising tools to improve product visibility and sales rate. The lessons learned in online grocery are relevant and useful to other ecommerce teams. In this episode we sit down with industry veteran Scott Miller, an independent consultant in the grocery industry and ex COO of Rouses and Pyramid Foods. Scott is joined by Prem Kiran, CEO at technology partner Hypersonix, who provide generative AI solutions to many industries including online grocery. Discover: How online grocery businesses typically approach ecommerce performance analysis How online grocery retailers are using generative AI to help improve analysis and profitability Using Hypersonix to improve data connectivity and protect margin The business case for investment in generative AI

512. Part 2 of our interview with Danielle Romero about her documentary, Finding Lola. Danielle lives in Nashville, Tenn., but has deep roots in Natchitoches Parish. A filmmaker, she is documenting the search for her great-grandmother, Lola Perot, who passed away before Romero was born. “She left the Natchitoches area of Louisiana in the 1930s and changed her name and race to hide her identity and attempted to pass as white in New York where I was born," Romero said. Romero said when Perot left Louisiana with her Irish husband, John Donnelly, and moved to New York, she taught her children, including Romero's grandmother, that they were French and Irish. Romero made her first visit to this area in 2021 to find family and truth. “Where did Lola's family come from? What was she hiding, and why? It was time to find Lola, and myself. I've spent months interviewing elders and cousins and I am excited to share the journey of the complexity of Louisiana heritage — both in the past and today.” This week in Louisiana history. Variety is the spice of life. Right? Well, in Louisiana spice is the spice of life! Or maybe flavor. It's beyond cliche that we like things spicy here. Although most cooks and chefs will tell you we like things well-seasoned. No surprise then, that seasoning is a big business in this area. There are no shortage of homegrown seasonings or seasoning companies. Every family has their own favorite blend. So why not have a blend you can make on your own — and make a buck off of? Brothers Troy and Zo Bolden are doing just that with their company Cajun Nation. Troy and Zo created the brand name in 2004 as an apparel company. When Zo's wife needed to go on a low-sodium diet, they came up with another idea: a line of low-sodium, MSG free seasonings that pack all the flavor the gulf coast is known for. Cajun Nation took off. Today their products are found in major grocery and retail chains like Rouses, Albertsons and HEB in Texas. It's still very much a family operation, and a Black-owned, veteran-owned business. We're constantly putting on our own spin or spice on pretty much every food you can find here in Louisiana. It's not just seafood that we like to be well-seasoned. What about — macarons? Cream Cheese & Pepper Jelly. Candied Jalapeno. Smoked Pecan. These are hardly traditional French flavors. They're the brainchild of Virginia St. Germain, better known to her family as Tut — and the owner of Tut's Bakery. Virginia turned her passion for home-baking into a home business that specializes in made-from-scratch confections and baked goods. She makes her own yeast for sourdough bread, dough for seasonal pies, and fillings for those inventive, devilish macarons. Virginia is a psychiatric nurse by trade. She operates the bakery at home in New Iberia with help from her husband. Out to Lunch Acadiana is recorded live over lunch at Sunday's Soda Fountain in downtown Lafayette. Cherie Hebert, CEO and sole proprietor of BBR Creative, a creative marketing agency, joined Discover Lafayette to discuss her journey in building a robust, woman-owned business. It's been 25 years since BBR was originally created by three young women who happened to be blond (Cathi Pavy), brunette (Cherie), and redhead (Sara Ashy), hence the name BBR Creative. Cherie's mission for BBR Creative is to be remembered as a business that cares about the people who make their work happen, the businesses they serve, and the community. A graduate of USL in Fine Arts, focusing on graphic design, Cherie worked at several advertising agencies before partnering with Pavy and Ashy to start BBR Creative. In the early days, the business was basically a creative design shop that developed promotional items for small businesses. Cherie was the 'account person' and worked to build their clientele. "Everyone should have a decent database and list of people to communicate with, those who continually buy from you. That is the cheapest thing you can do to grow your business, no matter what business you are in." As time went by, the firm branched out to representing larger entities. Today, Cherie says "the thing we do best is "supporting organizations that already have marketing teams in place but need help in augmenting their teams or handling special projects." Five main areas of client focus for BBR Creative have been education, healthcare, food and beverage, home services, and financial services. She proudly noted that Home Bank was a client for eight years and they have banked with Home Bank for 20 years. "It is important to have a good banker!" "I always knew I wanted to own my own business. There is a lot of freedom associated with that as well as challenges, so that's why I wanted to take the risk. The most fabulous thing about being young is that you are naive and take on things you wouldn't have if you were older and understood what it takes to get there. But back then, I wasn't! Since 1997, BBR has served well over 650 brands. "The very essence of what a marketing company does is to help other businesses grow. BBR helps other businesses grow and that is the only reason we exist." Cherie Hebert of BBR Creative has learned over the years that small businesses are typically undercapitalized when it comes to marketing their services. "They don't budget or raise the funds necessary to fund the marketing needed to acquire clients. If you are a car wash at a busy intersection, that may be okay, but there are so many other businesses that don't have that luxury and they have to work to strategically to attract clients. So many people go into business every day, and they don't know that it takes money to build a client base. There is no one cookie-cutter approach, you can't use the same recipe for every type of business." In celebration of its 25th year in business, BBR Creative has chosen 25 activities of appreciation for clients, people, and the community it calls 25 Do Good Days. In 2022, BBR has already undertaken projects to honor employees of Oschner Lafayette General, presented Ceci Neustrom's Acadian Heritage Series of artwork during Festival Acadiens, and sponsored a full-day conference put on by American Advertising Federation-Baton Rouge for students who want to know more about the advertising business. Currently (May 30 to June 23, 2022 ), BBR is partnering with Rouses and SuperOne to collect shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes, body wash, deodorant, and hand sanitizer for homeless individuals. For more information on the 25 do-good-days, visit https://bbrturns25.com/. When hiring, Cherie looks for 'creative thinkers, and she thinks a liberal arts education is desirable because it allows students to see the world from a lot of different perspectives. From a 'skill standpoint,' she notes "there is a big gap in digital marketing right now. Channel experts are needed.

Thursday March 3, 2022 God could bless us in spite of our attitude and conscience, and in many ways He does, but the Lord tells us to love Him, fear Him, and cling to Him (Deu 10-11). Is He desperate for worship like a tinpot dictator? Or does He want us to actually see Him and understand? He has made us in His image, giving us the ability to reason, comprehend the unseen, and anyone who has truly seen God for who His will tell you that it is the best thing, and most beautiful and rewarding, to... for full notes: https://www.cgtruth.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=2586

Rancourt, PhD CONCLUSION OF THIS PAPER: By making mask-wearing recommendations and policies for the general public, or by expressly condoning the practice, governments have both ignored the scientific evidence and done the opposite of following the precautionary principle. In an absence of knowledge, governments should not make policies that have a hypothetical potential to cause harm. The government has an onus barrier before it instigates a broad social-engineering intervention, or allows corporations to exploit fear-based sentiments. Furthermore, individuals should know that there is no known benefit arising from wearing a mask in a viral respiratory illness epidemic, and that scientific studies have shown that any benefit must be residually small, compared to other and determinative factors. Otherwise, what is the point of publicly funded science? The present paper about masks illustrates the degree to which governments, the mainstream media, and institutional propagandists can decide to operate in a science vacuum, or select only incomplete science that serves their inte...

Nothing makes me question whether I'm adulting correctly more than a 20-something who has fast-tracked his success in less than 5 years. *weeps in what have I been doing* Chef Robinson is a native New Orleanian, who decided early to follow in the footsteps of his mother and grandmother and join the world of culinary arts. After he finished culinary school, he became a private chef for professional athletes and socialites in and around the city. That ultimately snowballed into creating seasoning blends for those clients as well as friends and family who needed low to no sodium options to cook with. Fast forward to present day and he now has a three product seasoning line that is in nearly every Rouses grocery store in New Orleans and the surrounding areas among other select grocers. Chef Robinson is now working veraciously to expand his brand into cities nationwide. NOT ONLY THAT, he has his very own restaurant, Mad Chef at 59th in New Orleans East, which has become wildly popular. Take one look at their ---> Instagram
You're probably familiar with the saying, "Nothing personal, it's just business." People use it as a justification for doing something that's going to advantage them, to the detriment of someone else. The underlying assumption is that wise-business-decisions and personal feelings are opposites. There's nothing more personal than taste. So, how wise is it, when launching a business, to base the whole company on your personal taste? That's exactly what both of Aileen's guests on this edition of Out to Lunch have done. Scott Shea and his two partners launched Cousin's Smokehouse because they wanted to eat better tasting jerky. They wanted jerky that tasted like it was made in Acadiana, not like the generic stuff you buy at the gas station. In this case, Scott's bet on personal taste paid off. Today, you can get Cousins Smokehouse jerky at 600 locations, including all of the Rouses's supermarkets in Louisiana. Kim White launched her business, Bulldog Pepper Jelly, because she couldn't find pepper jelly that was spicy enough for her taste. So she started making her own pepper jelly. Spicy. The way she liked it. The next thing you know, Kim was making 250 jars of pepper jelly - a day. Kim's sister, Cindy, liked the taste of Kim's spicy pepper jelly and joined her in making it in commercial quantities. Today, you can find Bulldog Pepper Jelly at all of the Rouse's supermarkets as well as high-end food markets in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Photos at Marcello's Wine Market Cafe by Gwen Aucoin. Let's talk about The Princess Bride and how the movie might actually be better than the book. Maybe. It depends on who you ask. We discuss the incredible practical effects of this movie, the fight scenes that are more like dance scenes, and why ROUSes need to be seen to be believed. Our Drink for this Book: Tall Dark Stranger Wine, in honor of the Man in Black Our Drinking Game for this Movie: It's called The Battle of Wits and this game can actually be played without the movie but it is inspired by the scene between Wesley and Vizzini where death is on the line. Take turns drinking shots of liquid that look almost identical but one tastes fine and the other tastes awful. Make your friends guess who got the terrible one and see if you can bluff your way through not having to take the shot of liquor. It's not exactly death on the line but it's funny for your friends. We didn't find a website outlining this game but this very entertaining post online explains it pretty well! A Novel Adaptation was created by Emily Eppley and Jordan Redwine. Many a young boy aspires to play in the NFL. But only a small percentage actually realize that dream. It s similar to how many people dream of starting their own business, graduating from the work a day world, doing something they re passionate about, and making it big. On this edition of Out to Lunch, Andre Moreau sits in for Stephanie Riegel and hosts lunch with two members of a family who have done both gotten to the NFL and started their own business, at the same time Matt Flynn is an NFL quarterback who many in Baton Rouge remember from his days of leading the LSU Tigers to victory in the early 2000s. Matt is also an entrepreneur. He s pioneering a new, personalized sports drink tailored precisely for you, patterned on your own DNA. It s called MYHY. Don t go looking for it at GNC yet but when you do remember you heard it here first. Matt s mom, Ruth, is growing her own business. Ruth Flynn, aka Mama Roo to her grandchildren, makes candy, appropriately called Flynn s Candy Company. The candy you can find at local stores including Rouses is called Mama Roo s. Andre s and Matt s taste test gives Mama Roo s the thumbs up. It s a fascinating and fun story of a mother and son supporting each other building businesses.
