How to make your words empower your expectations.Proverbs 23:18: Surely there is a future [and a reward], Andyour hope and expectation will not be cut off. The word “expectation” is from the Hebrew Word “tik-vaw” literallymeans a cord (as an attachment or figuratively means expectancy, hope, live, thing that I long for. 1) cord2) hope, expectation2a) hope2b) ground of hope2c) things hoped for, outcomeWhat you long for serves as a cord that is attached to you.It is an outcome that you hoped for. God expects us to have a positiveexpectation. A positive expectation is called “hope” and a negative oneis called “pessimism” which leads to doubt.Let's start with negative expectations. This is how it works:· Negative expectations often manifest frompessimism and doubt. · These doubts lead to hesitancy because theycreate “failure scenarios” in your mind. · You expect to fail, and therefore all your decisions and actions willundoubtedly lead you away from your goals and towards failure and mistakes.· Decisions and actions are premised from thoughts(what you decided in your mind that formed a belief of your heart) and theactions you take on the back of your decision.· Pessimism + doubt = hesitancy + failure scenarios= negative expectations· Negative expectations produce decisions andactions that push the goals away into failures and mistakes.

The English word "praise" basically means to assess someone or some thing's value and tell others about it. Tons of verses through the Bible, and specifically the Psalms, mention praise as something the followers of God are expected to do. However, the Hebrew words translated as praise in English often have more specific and practical actions are a significant part of them. Tim shared about seven words that have impacted him and led us through a series of activations and an extended praise break!Encounter Youth meets at Encounter Church (300 Hideaway Dr, Quarryville, PA) on Wednesday nights at 6:45pm. If you would like to join a community of youth who are welcoming, have a blast praising Jesus, and are serious about learning the Way, come on out!

Join us as we have a pretty wide-ranging discussion about the good fruit. In the next few weeks, we will be looking at the many parables and instructions to be found in Matthew 12 and 13. Really these, like most of Y'shua's instructions to us, all pertain to the same issue, the soil condition of our heart. Is it good? will the seed of the Word grow there? Will it produce a good tree and good fruit? Is He El Shaddi, the provider God whom we ask for assistance, or is He Yahuah, the eternal, all powerful creator God, or is He both? Why did the disciples follow Y'shua just at his word? Why or what were they “given” to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven and the multitudes were “not given.” The attendees at synagogue began to see what the disciples had already seen, that this guy might just be the promised Messiah. Yet why were the educated religious leaders of that day unable to see? Why did they want to kill Y'shua, the Hebrew Word for salvation? Why did they want to kill salvation in order to save their position? Why did Y'shua get in a boat to speak with the Rabble and then later the disciples in private? The blasphemy of the Spirit, the good tree, a brood of vipers, the good treasure of the heart, show us a sign, the unclean spirit, who are my mother and brothers? And more. Great info on its own but a great foundation for the next few weeks.

Reading and understanding the Bible is crucial to our spiritual growth. Wouldn’t it be great to understand Scripture in the language Jesus used? While we can’t all be Hebrew scholars, Pastor Dave Adamson will explain the depth of meaning and cultural context of Hebrew words that every Christian should know!
In this lesson, we delve into the profound essence of a Hebrew word often translated as “to bear” or “to bring Good News.” Hebrew, as the foundational language of the Bible and the Israelites, is both dynamic and richly mystical. Those acquainted with Western traditions might find themselves surprised by the depths the Hebrew letters and words can reach. The Rabbis believed that every aspect of the Hebrew Alphabet, along with the words that emerged from it, had a divine origin. Each subtlety in a word, whether in its phonetic similarity to another or its derivation from a root verb, carries profound significance. Such is the case with the Hebrew verb for “to bring the Good News” and the nouns associated with it. Given that all Hebrew nouns stem from a root verb, it's intriguing to see how, at deeper, sometimes mysterious levels, the meanings of two English words, which may appear unrelated, are profoundly interconnected. Exploring these intricate facets of the Hebrew language can steer us towards a deeper comprehension of the kingdom's mysteries.
