This is a companion series to the Architecture of Contemplation podcast. Today we are contemplating what it is to reclaim the night's sky. There is a term - sky grief - that gives voice to a feeling that we inherently intuit in spaces and places, city escapes and urban sprawls, a loss of the great, awesome, frightening grandeur, that is the night's sky. Thousands of years of looking up into the secrets of the sky, reading the messages of light, from sun, moon, stars, planets alike - this is our lineage. Before, all were asked to honour the rhythm of the day folding into night. Now, we sit, hunched over charms the size of our palms, isolated and alone; artificial lights for an artificial life. It is this night blindness that we each suffer from. This contemplation is an invitation to reclaim the night's sky.Take a breath, and let's begin.HProduced by: perse.londonWriter + Editor: Hardeep Kaur@hardeep.earthMusic track: Within Us by Epic Spectrum Source: https://freetouse.com/music Music track: Giant Wave by ZambolinoSource: https://freetouse.com/music Music track: Arrival by AylexSource: https://freetouse.com/music To the Glowing Forest by PikiSource: https://freetouse.com/music Music track: Nighttime by ZambolinoSource: https://freetouse.com/music Music track: Whales by ZambolinoSource: https://freetouse.com/music
May 18, 2025. Fifth Sunday of Easter homily by Fr. Matt Lowry about how we are invited to embrace the paschal mystery with Jesus of His suffering, death, resurrection, and glorification.
“People don't need a spreadsheet of reasons to trust you. They don't want another pitch deck. Another promise. Another polished lie. They are waiting for a signal. And what is the most powerful signal: "I see you. I hear you. You matter." Jack Barsky, a former KGB spy, did not learn this in Harvard Business School. He learned it from his tradecraft as a spy. In the Great Conversation, we navigate intention, truth, and trust between the two worlds. And we end with a question about legacy that many of us can learn from.
Our world is more magical than we know - more than we can know. Increasing numbers of us are realising that the 'citadel theory of mind' where we see ourselves as isolated units within the boundaries of our own skulls is not how the world works. But if it isn't, then how do we make sense of the worlds beyond consensus reality? How do we engage with the web of life and all that's around it in ways that are respect, reciprocal and generative? Robert (Bob) Falconer is a long time IFS practitioner and trainer. He is the author or co-author of many books, including Many Minds, One Self which he co-wrote with Dick Schwartz, who is credited with founding Internal Family Systems Therapy. For me, this is the form of therapy that leans closest into spiritual work, particularly into shamanic work, and Bob's book, The Others Within Us: Internal Family Systems, Porous Mind and Spirit Possession is a ground-breaking work that blows open the fallacies of the citadel mind model and opens us to a wide spectrum of other realities in other cultures, all of which acknowledge the existence of non-human, non-embodied energies that have at least a degree of agency and that can interact with human beings in ways that are either to our benefit or our detriment. Very few are neutral. So as we hurtle towards the edge of a cliff, pushed by our culture's endemic inability to engage with our own traumas, talking to Bob seemed pretty much essential. We talk quite a lot about IFS, which is Internal Family Systems therapy and at the start, we open up more of what that's about, though I do encourage you to read the book Bob co-wrote with Dick Schwartz. We also - and this is a trigger warning - explore some of Bob's own life history of harrowing sexual and physical abuse so if this is likely to trigger parts of you, then please only listen when you're feeling grounded and well resourced. Beyond that, we range far, wide and deep across the boundaries where science meets spirituality and philosophy meets psychotherapy, all of which is squarely in the area that I think needs most work, for all of us. In this episode, I am joined by Bruce. We get his take on sinners as well as a thunderbolt review so spoiler alert if you haven't seen that movie. We then get into a conversation about the dark side of everybody's mind. We then share some stories or thoughts in regards to people in their negative thoughts and should they keep them within their minds or should they speak on them. Pretty cerebral conversation. Enjoy.

“If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love…” (John 15:10)I can't overstate the global influence of the 10 Commandments. They have shaped not only individuals, but entire societies. To a lot of people, however, they seem random. But they're not. Amongst other things, they actually reflect God's character. Dive into the fascinating world of the human microbiome and discover how these trillions of microscopic organisms aren't just passengers in your body—they're essential partners in your health journey. Dr. Lodi reveals the profound interconnectedness between our various microbiomes, from gut to vaginal to oral, and how disruption in one area creates ripple effects throughout your entire system. You'll learn why the conventional medical approach of "killing bad bacteria" with antibiotics often creates cycles of recurring infections and dysbiosis. Instead, Dr. Lodi presents a revolutionary perspective: these microorganisms respond directly to your dietary choices, stress levels, and overall lifestyle. By understanding how to create the right internal environment, you can cultivate beneficial microbial communities that naturally suppress harmful organisms without harsh interventions. The conversation takes unexpected turns into the mouth-body connection, where dental infections silently travel through meridian pathways to trigger problems in distant organs. You'll hear a remarkable case study of facial neuralgia resolving after proper tooth extraction, highlighting why biological dentistry matters for whole-body health. Dr. Lodi also shares cutting-edge approaches for cancer patients, explaining how intermittent fasting creates a metabolic advantage by leveraging the difference in insulin receptor density between healthy cells and cancer cells.Perhaps most powerfully, this episode challenges the fundamental Western perspective that sees humans as separate from nature. Instead, Dr. Lodi reminds us that we are part of an incredible, living ecosystem—and true healing comes from working with our body's innate intelligence rather than against it. Arcana Coelestia 7398. Only in the river shall they be left. That this signifies that they should remain with the falsities where these are, is evident from the signification of “river,” here the river of Egypt, as being falsity (see n. 6693, 7307); and from the signification of “being left,” as being to remain. With this the case is that whatever enters with man, remains with him, especially what is received from affection. It is believed that the things which enter have been completely obliterated and cast out when the man no longer remembers them; but they have not been obliterated or cast out, but they stick fast either in the interior memory, or in the exterior, among things which have become familiar. For the things which become familiar, are as it were natural, which flow of their own accord, and are not excited by a conscious recalling from the memory; like man's speech, the words of which flow spontaneously from thought, as also do the gestures and actions, and even the steps; and also the thought. These enter successively from infancy, and in time become familiar, and then flow spontaneously. From these as well as from other similar facts, it is evident that all things which enter with man, remain, and that the things which have become habitual, that is, familiar, are no longer noticed as being in the man, although they are in him. Such is the case with the falsities and evils that enter with man, and also with the truths and goods. Such are the things that form him and determine his quality. (That all things which a man has seen, heard, thought, spoken, and done, have been inscribed on him, (see n. 2474-2489.) From all this it is now evident how it is to be understood that the reasonings would remain with the falsities where these are; for after falsities are being removed, they are allotted their places elsewhere in the natural, and together with the falsities the endeavor and cupidity of reasoning; but not as before in the midst directly under the mind's view. Hence it is that, as related in what follows, the frogs were gathered together in heaps, and the land stank by reason of them, whereby is signified that these reasoning falsities were arranged in bundles in the natural, and there was what was foul and loathsome therefrom (see below, n. 7408, 7409). AC 7370. That man is in the love of self who despises his neighbor in comparison with himself, who regards him as his enemy if he does not favor and reverence him; he is still more in the love of self who therefore hates and persecutes his neighbor; and he still more who therefore burns with revenge against him and desires his destruction. Such persons at last love to rage against their neighbor; and the same, if they are also adulterers, become cruel. Third Round posts are short audio clips taken from Round 3 comments offered in the online Logopraxis Life Group meetings. The aim is to keep the focus on understanding the Text in terms of its application to the inner life along with reinforcing any key LP principles that have been highlighted in the exchanges.

The apostle Paul writes to the Philippians from prison, encouraging unity and humility by highlighting Christ as the ultimate example. Philippians 2:13 reminds believers that God empowers their desires and actions, bridging human effort with divine purpose. Trusting in God's presence fuels strength to navigate life's challenges and prompts meaningful actions.
Knowing that God is with us is a simple yet powerful truth. But Holy Spirit is beckoning us to seek out the treasure of something deeper. It's a journey beyond knowing that He is with us, and towards realizing that He is within us. This revelation shifts our perspective entirely, awakening us to a deeper revelation who He is and who we actually are in this earth.

The United States' support for the genocide in Palestine, especially since the launch of Operation Al Aqsa Flood in October 2023, has led federal employees and active duty military members to take action in opposition to violations of domestic and international law. Clearing the FOG speaks with two members of the US Air Force, Juan Bettancourt and Joy Metzler, who have applied for conscientious objector status. Together with Larry Hebert, who conducted a hunger strike in front of the White House last year, they created Servicemembers for Ceasefire to provide a space for members of the military to question US foreign policy. Bettancourt and Metzler describe their journeys, the level of dissent within the military and the deployment of US troops domestically. For more information, visit PopularResistance.org.

In this episode, Pastor Cindy and Pastor Gene Cate taught in tandem about the power of the Holy Spirit both in us and upon us. As believers, it's important for us to be filled with the Holy Spirit on the inside. This is for our sake individually. But, when we experience the power of the Holy Spirit upon us, it is for the betterment of the people around us. That is when signs, wonders and miracles become the evidence of His presence and people's lives are impacted because our obedience to God's move resulted in Holy Spirit having His way.
