Have you designed your life to avoid being with yourself? That is, do you intentionally take time to just be alone with yourself? No external input, no distractions so you can uncover what it is that makes you feel loved, feel alive, feel purposeful? If so, what's it like for you? If not, why not? In this episode, we hear from Julien Blanc (@julienhimself) how difficult this practice can be, and yet how significant and valuable it is. It allows you to process what bubbles to the surface and actually become the person you were created to be – separating the external noise from the internal realities and pursue transformation . “Most people design their lives to forever avoid being with themselves.” - Julien Blanc Philippians 4: 19…And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. There is a difference between loneliness and solitude, you don't have to even be alone to feel lonely. Some of the times I have felt the loneliest in my life is when I have been surrounded by people but they either weren't the right people for me, or I wasn't comfortable with myself. Solitude on the other hand, is the choice to be alone and to use that alone time to reflect or simply enjoy your own company. It is about enjoying being with oneself rather than wishing to be with someone else. In this episode I discuss: The 4 common reasons why you might be feeling lonely and 5 tips to help you combat loneliness.

In this episode, Ismail talks about the power of independency in spending quality time alone. Recently people have questioned how distant I am from everybody but honestly, it's something that I need. There is a distinct difference between existing and living and for the past year and a half I've been in this realm of existing in my case trying to figure out who I am on my own and at times it can be very confusing. I feel like I need a hard reset on my life and wanting to spend time alone allows me to extensively start doing things that I really enjoy along with growing as individual person on views, perspectives and experiences as much as it can be a lonely confusing road. Being alone isn't a bad thing as long you find hobbies and things that you're obsessed about. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ismail020/support

how to be alone, but not lonely you may ask? Well, I have the answers to your question. Our society teaches us that being alone is equivalent to being lonely- but that's just not the case. I would say that mastering the art of being alone and happy in your own company is one of the most important lessons to learn in early adulthood. Creating that strong relationship with yourself allows you to be content whether or not you have others around you. I love you all, enjoy!

Peace + Presence, family! This week on the @letsgetlytpodcast we are discussing Solitude & being alone but not lonely.
