The Working Enneagram podcast is a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning more about the Enneagram and how it can apply to various aspects of life, particularly in the workplace. Hosted by Kelsey Taylor and featuring interviews with individuals of different Enneagram types, this podcast provides insight, authenticity, depth, and humor in each episode. It offers a unique perspective on how the Enneagram can impact working environments and relationships, making it a great tool for personal growth and understanding.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the diversity of perspectives and experiences shared. Each episode focuses on a different Enneagram type, allowing listeners to gain insight into the motivations, strengths, and challenges of each type. The interviews provide personal testimonies that are relatable and enlightening, helping listeners to better understand themselves and others. The inclusion of individuals from various occupations adds an extra layer of interest as they share how they utilize their unique giftings in their work environment.

Another positive aspect of this podcast is its accessibility. Kelsey Taylor does an excellent job of breaking down complex concepts into easily understandable language. This makes it accessible to those who may not have prior knowledge or experience with the Enneagram. The discussions around core motivations are especially helpful for typing oneself and gaining self-awareness.

However, one potential downside to this podcast is its focus on working environments. While it does offer a unique perspective on how the Enneagram can be applied in the workplace, some listeners may prefer a broader approach that includes other areas of life such as relationships and personal development.

In conclusion, The Working Enneagram podcast is a valuable resource for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves and others through the lens of the Enneagram. Its focus on working environments brings a fresh perspective to the conversation while still offering insights that can be applied to various aspects of life. With its mix of insight, authenticity, depth, and humor, this podcast is a gift for anyone interested in personal growth and self-awareness.

Summary In this episode, host Kelsey Taylor interviews Beth McCord, co-founder of Your Enneagram Coach, about her career journey as an Enneagram nine and how the Enneagram has influenced her work and parenting. Beth shares insights into the challenges and joys of being a type nine mom, including the struggle to know and communicate her own needs, the importance of understanding and accepting her children's different motivations, and the need to balance guiding her children with allowing them to be their authentic selves. Beth and Kelsey discuss how the Enneagram can be used to understand and improve parenting, and they explore how each Enneagram type approaches parenting and the hopes and dreams they have for their children. They also discuss the concept of emotional sobriety and how parents can achieve it. Beth emphasizes the importance of being curious and open to their individual personalities. She shares personal anecdotes and practical tips for using the Enneagram to enhance parent-child relationships. Takeaways Understanding and accepting your own Enneagram type can help you navigate the challenges and joys of being a parent. As a parent, it's important to recognize and respect your children's different motivations and personalities. Avoid trying to make your children mini-versions of yourself; instead, guide them to be the best version of themselves. Parenting can be a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, as you learn to navigate your own fears, desires, and expectations. Parents should be curious about their children's personalities and avoid typing them at a young age. Using the Enneagram can enhance parent-child relationships and promote understanding and compassion. AWARE: Awareness, Welcoming, Asking, Receiving, and Engaging are key steps to achieving emotional sobriety. They both care about what is just and fair. The One seeks fairness through rules, while the Nine seeks fairness in making sure everyone has a chance to voice their opinion. When healthy this Nine is balanced and productive. They stand up for what they believe is right. They are self-assured and they share their opinions, thoughts, and ideas with confidence. When they are not healthy they are silently judgmental and resentful. These two are in conflict with each other with the Two's desire to be likable and the One's judgemental nature. The 2 with a 3 wing is known as the "Host/Hostess." These two easily complement each other. Both desire significance, and they both strive to be liked by others.
