In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth “Creek” Creekmore return to their series on coaching the Enneagram types by talking about Type Three. Mario and MJ explain how this type of Striving to Feel Outstanding is often misunderstood so it's important to understand the instinctual bias as each subtype requires different coaching needs. However, they also share why this type provides some of their biggest success stories in their work with the corporate world. The Financial Therapy Podcast - It's Not Just About The Money
Our financial choices aren't just about dollars and cents—they're shaped by the stories we believe about money, called money scripts. In this video, Rick Kahler explores how these scripts, passed down through generations, influence everything from saving to spending. Joined by Enneagram expert Joan Ryan, the conversation delves into how personality types add a fascinating layer to our financial habits. Whether you're a Type Three overspending to impress or a Type Nine avoiding budgets to keep the peace, understanding these patterns is key to rewriting your financial story. Awareness is the first step to lasting change!A podcast that blends the nuts and bolts of financial advice with the emotions that drive making them.Rick Kahler, CFP®, CFT-I™, has helped people make better money decisions by integrating financial planning. He blends the nuts and bolts of financial advice with the emotions that drive making them and shares them on his financial therapy podcast.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE AN ACHIEVER? “As we're having these conversations, I'm really struck by how these periods of stress, when we're aware of them, can actually be really empowering. I suppose, the ups and downs of life as they relate to places of growth and stress for our different enneagram types, when we know about them, how helpful that is, bBecause then we can go, “oh, I feel this way, that is so counter to who I usually am., why do I feel that way and how do I get out of it?” At Leeds Sanctuary, we run popular Retreat Days and a Book Club all about The Enneagram - an ancient personality typing tool which many people still find helpful and relevant today! In this podcast series, join Emily and Anna as they discuss the strengths and challenges of each Enneagram type, their core motivations and fears, defence mechanisms, and tips for being emotionally healthy over stressed and burnt out. In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth “Creek” Creekmore are joined by Dr. Joel Rothaizer, a Master-Certified executive coach and organizational consultant, and Board Certified Psychologist in Organizational & Business Consulting Psychology. Joel brings his personal insight as they discuss the vice, virtue and fixation for the Enneagram Type Three. This type is driven by the need to be seen as valuable, and therefore creates an image of themselves. However, what we typically don't see is the anxiety behind the behavior.“And they're being portrayed in such an unfair way. I think the most superficial thing is not Threes, it's the way they're portrayed by many, many people out there.” -María José [06:32]“Oftentimes, we ostracize the things that we don't like about ourselves. So what is that sort of thing in the Enneagram community? Why do we have such an issue with Three energy?” -Creek [07:54]“It's striving to feel outstanding, but it's striving to feel outstanding in the eyes of others. I mean, I think Enneagram Three hell would be to do something remarkably outstanding and have nobody know it.” -Joel [30:08]“One of the things that Threes are very good at is being productive in a way that is meaningful.” -Mario [43:24]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[01:14] About this week's guest[04:06] The myths about Type Three[12:35] Vice: Deceit[22:00] Constructing a valuable image[28:39] Fixation: Vanity[37:24] Path to veracity[46:56] Veracity: truthfulness ???[54:21] How to contact Joel[55:16] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on DemandIG: @ataenneagrampodEmail: info@awarenesstoaction.comSend a voice message: speakpipe.com/AwarenesstoActionDr. Joel Rothaizer:Web: clear-impact.comBook: Clear Impact: Building Your Leadership CapacityMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraTikTok: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comPod: Enneagram in a MovieSubstack: mariosikora.substack.comMaria Jose Munita: IG: @mjmunitaWeb: mjmunita.comSeth "Creek" Creekmore: IG: @_creekmorePod: Fathoms |

In this episode of the Enneagram and Coffee podcast, I explore the concept of the inner child for Enneagram Type Three, referencing the work of Sandra Maitri. I describe the Type Three's inner child as a fearful, shy, and insecure Type Six. I offer advice on how Type Threes can connect with their inner child to address hidden anxieties. Some suggestions include daily unplugged walks, journaling current fears, writing letters to their younger selves, and specific meditations. I also encourage listeners to explore their fear of stagnation and reprioritize their energy for personal peace. -- Thank you to this week's podcast sponsor - NOTION!!! Nana Agyemang and Rhonda Magee form this panel of Enneagram Threes. Nana and Rhonda exhibit one of the key traits of the Three structure--energy. Threes' energy propels them to be industrious, efficient and goal-oriented. While sometimes stereotyped as Wall Street powerbrokers, Threes can also channel their drive toward achievement and productivity in serving others, as evidenced in Nana and Rhonda's dedication to public service and the nonprofit sector. This panel highlights a main task of Type Three--harnessing their energy to create space for developing a sense of presence and discovering the value of being over doing. In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth "Creek" Creekmore discuss the subtypes of Enneagram Type Three, “Striving to Feel Outstanding.” They talk about why the three subtypes are different and why the Navigating Three is the stereotype for the Type Three.“Productivity is something that they really aim for. In this episode, Kelsey Taylor interviews Enneagram Threes, Jacob Ferrell and Jesse Bates on their wings. In the context of the Enneagram, your wings are the two numbers directly adjacent to your primary Type. The 3w2 is known as the “Star.” These two combinations blend very well together. The Three, like the Two, is conscientious of how others receive them. Both the Three and the Two work hard to be likable and respectable. The 3w4 is known as the “Professional,” and this coupling is a very interesting one…Because while the Three wants to be a chameleon to easily adapt to each environment or group so they're accepted and admired, the Four wants to be a peacock and stand out for their unique qualities. The Three charms others with a false image of themself, while the Four demands authenticity. In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth "Creek" Creekmore discuss Enneagram Type Three, “Striving to Feel Outstanding.” Drew Moser, co-host of Fathoms | An Enneagram Podcast, joins them to share how being a Type Three shows up in his life. The four talk about how Type Threes aim to feel like they're standing out in some way, the blind spots that occur from this and how there's so much more going on under the surface. They discuss the misconception that while Type Threes can appear self-centered and selfish, they also want to make other people's lives better as well.“I think that's at the core of the Type Three is that they're always calibrating the proposition of their lives.” -Drew [09:07]“So they have this reputation in the Enneagram world of being self-centered and selfish, but healthy Threes are really, really trying to make the world better for everybody.” -Mario [11:13]“All I'm hearing is the pattern of expression is as sure as gravity, is what Mario is saying.” -Creek [23:22]“I wanted to highlight how your description of Type Nine is nothing close to what a Nine would say about being a Nine, I think, because of how a Three embodies the Type Nine strategy of ‘Striving to Feel Peaceful,' and that's interesting.” -María José [34:57]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:58] This week's guest, Drew Moser[03:49] About Type Three[07:42] Adopted language for describing Type Three[11:51] How Drew learned about the Enneagram[14:57] Drew's understanding of the Enneagram[18:05] Patterns of expression[24:25] Drew's strategy in adaptive and maladaptive ways[32:01] The connecting points[40:24] Achievement vs anxiety[44:25] Why use neglected and support strategy[47:17] Type Three blind spots[52:01] Check in on Threes[54:17] How to contact Drew[54:44] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand Mario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comPod: Enneagram in a MovieMaria Jose Munita: IG: @mjmunitaWeb: mjmunita.comSeth "Creek" Creekmore: IG: @creekmoremusicPod: Fathoms | An Enneagram PodcastPod: Delusional OptimismDrew Moser:Web: typetrail.coIG: @typetrailenneagramTwitter: @drewmoserPod: Fathoms...
In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth "Creek" Creekmore talk about the Enneagram Type Six, “Striving to Feel Secure,” with special guest, Chelsea Jackson. The four discuss why this type of vigilantism and alertness is misunderstood, drawing from Chelsea's perspective. Chelsea shares how it truly feels to be a Type Six on the inside and talks about the disconnect with how this type feels about themselves versus how others view them.“Particularly in the corporate world, where I work, it's a type that can frustrate people because of their perceived hesitancy, their perceived negativity about things, but what I find is that when the times get tough, Sixes are actually really prepared and they're very effective people in those situations.” -Mario [06:05]“Besides Type Six being misunderstood in the Enneagram world, I think they're sometimes hard to read in the real world. People, I think, have a harder time making sense of their behavior or jump very quickly into conclusions to why they're doing certain things when in reality their inner process is sometimes very different to what people perceive of them.” -María José [07:17]“What we're all kind of expressing… this confusion that a lot of people in the Enneagram community have around Sixes.” -Creek [08:50]“I have a pretty good BS radar. Like I can know when you're not being authentic. I can know when you're just asking me for lip service, but you're not actually going to do what I suggest. In this episode, Kelsey Taylor is joined by licensed professional Counselor, Tracey Brock, as she talks about Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) and how it can serve as a tool in rewiring the brain. Being trained in Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, ETT, and Intimacy Therapy, Tracey now focuses on using ETT as her main tool in helping her patients dig deep and release their traumas. Through the use of light and color wavelengths, ETT can reach affected brain patterns that go to different parts of the body that make us feel the trauma, fear or anxiety. This therapy is one that helps you get in tune with your body and mind to help you better handle your emotions. This therapy is one that helps you get in tune with your body and mind to help you understand it and know how to better handle your emotions. In the final episode of Season Three, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe, TJ Ingrassia and special guest Seth “Creek” Creekmore talk about “Interstellar,” directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Matthew McConaughey. Seth shares what inspired him to choose this film to discuss and why he thought the musical score by Composer Hans Zimmer was a beautiful contrast to the film. In typical fashion, the four hosts explore the Enneagram types of the characters as well as the themes of the film, which includes the value of human life.“It just feels like a Four inner journey for me. Like just the sweeping, large, expansive, but organic, dark and longing and uncertain. It's just, I dunno. I think it just mirrors some part of myself back to me.” - Seth Creekmore [07:57]“My guess is that Christopher Nolan is a Five, and it seemed like a pretty big Five-ish framing of love. Love is something that we can quantify, or even if there's something mysterious about it, it's a signifier of something we don't get yet, implying that love is something that we can and should factor into our calculations.” - TJ Dawe [24:49]“The script feels kind of Five-ish, but it's being played by this guy who's got this cool, chill Nine-ish vibe with some Seven-ish excitement and wonder.” - TJ Ingrassia [39:56]“The whole movie was about Three stuff in my mind, because it was about aspiration.” - Mario Sikora [43:05]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[01:14] This week's guest: Seth Creekmore[05:55] This week's movie: “Interstellar”[08:28] Hosts' history with the movie[13:50] About the film[17:14] Hosts' thoughts on the film[22:12] The is-ought argument[23:59] Selling love[30:08] The movie's score[32:53] Mann's Enneagram Type[36:12] Matthew McConaughey's and Cooper's Enneagram Type[42:47] The movie's Type Three themes[45:24] Tension between transmitting and preserving[50:44] Brand's and Romilly's Enneagram Type[54:04] TARS' and Murph's Enneagram Type[58:03] The value of human life[1:03:18] Final thoughts on the film[1:11:53] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand The Awareness to Action Enneagram PodcastMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comTJ Dawe:Web: tjdawe.caTJ Ingrassia:Web: tjingrassia.comYouTube: @TypeCastSeth "Creek" Creekmore: IG: @creekmoremusicPod: Fathoms | An Enneagram PodcastPod: Delusional Optimism
In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia discuss the 1987 film, “The Princess Bride,” and reveal how easy it can be to look at a film and interpret it differently. The hosts examine the Enneagram Types for each character, at times not agreeing. Is Iñigo Montoya a Type Three or Type Four? What Enneagram Type do they see for Wallace Shawn's Vizzini? Why was Andre the Giant's character, Fezzik, the perfect Type Nine? Listen as the hosts share their thoughts on these and other characters.“I thought Count Rugen was maybe the one of the best Fives I've ever seen in a movie. Talk about detached.” - TJ Dawe [29:18]“The Navigating One, I think, is a subtype that's often misunderstood. Other people call this the Social One, and people have a tendency to think the so-called Social One is a reformer. Somebody who wants to change the world. That's not what's going on here.” - Mario Sikora [33:24]“If I had a thousand years with this movie, I never would have guessed One. I had her as a Four all day long, and maybe part of this is because… I might be biased, because my wife is a Four. And I felt like I was watching my wife through the course of this film.” - TJ Ingrassia [35:53]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:29] This week's movie: “The Princess Bride”[07:52] About the movie[12:44] The director, Rob Reiner, and the casting[19:01] Andre the Giant as Fezzik, a Type Nine[23:10] Wallace Shawn as Vizzini[29:15] Count Rugen as Type Five[32:04] Robin Wright as Buttercup[39:55] Westley's Enneagram Type[44:26] Iñigo Montoya: Type Three or Type Four?[51:59] Miracle Max's Enneagram Type[52:41] Overall tone of the movie[55:42] William Goldman and his Enneagram Type[57:57] Westley and Buttercup as a One, a Four, or an Eight?[1:02:21] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand The Awareness to Action Enneagram PodcastMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comTJ Dawe:Web: tjdawe.caTJ Ingrassia:Web: tjingrassia.comYouTube: @TypeCast

In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia discuss the 2011 movie, “Bridesmaids,” starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne. The three hosts explore the film about status and friendships and examine the characters' Enneagram Types. Listen as they debate which Enneagram Type is Wiig's character, Annie. Is she a Type Six or a Type Two? Mario also introduces new categories to discuss the Enneagram themes in the movie.“This is what's so interesting about the Enneagram is the external traits can look so similar. It's a fictional film and so different types can be reacting exactly the same way. We don't necessarily have access to her internal drives and childhood traumas and all this kind of stuff, so it could just be a… It's a bit of a Rorschach test.” - TJ Ingrassia [14:27]“I think Nine-ish characters are very common as the heroes in Judd Apatow flicks, because they're just these easygoing, unambitious, salt-of-the-earth kind of guys that you just can't help but like.” - Mario Sikora [36:49]“That's another side of Eights that people don't often see because Eights present themselves as so tough. That they didn't necessarily just stride through life like Conan the Barbarian smashing down obstacles with their club at every turn. Eights can be bullied.” - TJ Dawe [45:48]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro [00:28] This week's movie: “Bridesmaids”[02:17] About the movie[05:08] Hosts' reactions to the movie[11:05] Annie's Enneagram Type[20:15] Helen's Enneagram Type[26:13] Ted as Type Three[30:15] Officer Rhodes' Enneagram Type[38:59] Judd Apatow: A Type Six and a Navigating Type[40:17] Rebel Wilson as Brynn, the roommate[42:29] Megan's Enneagram Type[47:42] Introducing categories to the podcast[57:57] Lillian's Enneagram Type[58:27] Overall theme of bonding and friendship[1:02:30] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand The Awareness to Action Enneagram PodcastMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comTJ Dawe:Web: tjdawe.caTJ Ingrassia:Web: tjingrassia.comYouTube: @TypeCast
In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia discuss the two films, “Black Panther '' and “Avengers: Infinity War,” focusing on the primary character, The Black Panther. They explore the themes of excellence and aspiration in “Black Panther” as Enneagram Type Three as well as make the case for Killmonger as a Type Three or Type Eight. They also talk about the issues of life and vitality in “Avengers: Infinity War.”“A big Nine-ish theme that I saw in the movie altogether is the theme of keeping your brilliance hidden. Many Nines have all the talent in the world, and it stays within their own mind or stays within the confines of their own homes or maybe a few people who know them. So there's often this reticence to shine and there's reticence to get involved.” - TJ Dawe [19:13]“He walks into the apartment as himself, but then for a little bit, he actually reverts to his childlike form. And it felt to me like a pretty good picture of… what you read about in a lot of the Enneagram literature is that inside of the Eight is the small, fragile child that they're protecting.” - TJ Ingrassia [33:01]“In Eights, vitality gets stunted and they feel this deadness inside, and they're trying to recapture it in some way. And this is why we see all this exertion, this excessiveness, this extremeness in Eight. It's this ideal way of trying to capture life again. For me, that was just a big theme in the movie.” - Mario Sikora [1:07:32]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:44] This week's movies[04:07] “Black Panther”[07:10] Hosts' thoughts on the film[12:36] Marvel movies and Type Eight archetype[13:13] Ryan Coogler as a director[15:16] Type Three or Type Nine?[25:09] Michael B. In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia discuss the film, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as a lens to explore the title character in “Black Widow,” and its overarching themes of Type Three. Both films share a common theme of searching for identity, asking the questions “Who am I?” and “How do I express that?” The three hosts also examine a few of the new characters introduced into the Marvel Universe, including Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Yelena Belova, and how they play into the Enneagram.“I think there's a sense of her embracing her pain… The Fours that I know, pain is their friend. Instead of moving away from, there's a moving into the pain, embracing it, feeling it, accepting it, and it seems like pain, personal pain is a huge theme for her throughout the whole series.” - TJ Ingrassia [14:25]“I think the whole theme of this movie was kind of Four-ish. There was a darkness to it. There was this big question of identity and this question of becoming.” - Mario Sikora [15:31]“That stood out to me as a really interesting symbol of Three-ness, of how we're all programmed to one degree or another. We get information from our parents, from our peer group, from society at large of this is the way to be. This is what's expected of you. This is the way that you can be valuable. And some part of us absorbs that, no matter how much we like to think that we're not. And part of the work of maturing is learning to separate ourselves from those voices and learning to say, ‘OK, what's my programming and what's actually me?'” - TJ Dawe [1:00:12]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[01:16] The relation between this week's movies[02:26] First movie: “Avengers: Age of Ultron” [05:44] Hosts' reflections and thoughts on the film[08:26] The importance of Hawkeye[12:38] The twins and Type Four[16:58] Natasha aka Black Widow[24:57] Ultron's and Vision's Enneagram Type[33:28] The theological themes in the movie[36:08] The Stan Lee cameo[38:34] Next film: “Black Widow”[42:41] The most compelling characters[44:55] Type Three connections[49:38] The humor in the film[50:53] Alexei as a Type Seven[54:16] Melina's and General Dreykov's Enneagram Type[59:11] Yelena as a Type Three and Type Eight[1:04:31] The character, Taskmaster[1:08:41] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand The Awareness to Action Enneagram PodcastMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comTJ Dawe:Web: tjdawe.caTJ Ingrassia:Web: tjingrassia.comYouTube: @TypeCast

The drive to perform, excel and be noticed - and thus to feel accepted and loved - is a trap for many of us. The underlying distress that without a successful image we could not possibly be worth loving has driven many to high levels of achievement but often at the expense of losing touch with their inherent belovedness. That dynamic played out in real life for today's guest, ennea-type Three Marty H., accomplished broadcaster, therapist, educator...and recovering alcoholic. Listen in as Marty recalls his early life on a farm in the Canadian Prairies, where even then he sensed he had to over-achieve in order to be accepted, how that drove him unconsciously for decades, and how he ironically found unconditional love and acceptance in the recovery community where he became authentic about his worst failures. All that and we also get to commemorate Bobby Orr's birthday ( a Canadian National Holiday, eh?) and relive the glory days of professional hockey (say what?) in Birmingham, Alabama!

In this series on paths, we take a deeper look at each type by discovering how our dominant type is connected to these whole other sides of our personality through the arrow lines of the enneagram. Traditionally called “stress path” and “growth path,” Jessica teaches a different way of looking at the paths as a dynamic part of our personality that we take both positive and negative characteristics from on a day to day basis, but can lean into and grow through in seasons.
In this episode, I share the coaching space with an Enneagram Three that desires some reprieve from the burden of expectations his Type Three structure often creates for him. We explore the hustle & desire to accomplish that's intrinsic for Type Threes and how we can balance out some of the anxiety & shame around expectations by slowing down to check in with himself. In our conversation, there's also a gentle invitation to be kind to himself when he notices his Type Three structure emerge, which is a good reminder for all of us as we become more aware of our blindspots. The Enneagram Three in this coaching space is a friend & former co-worker, so it was really a gift to get to share the coaching space with him.
