In this episode, Kelsey Taylor interviews Enneagram Nines, Trey Johnson and Jamie Roucloux on their wings. In the context of the Enneagram, your wings are the two numbers directly adjacent to your primary Type. The 9w1 is known as “The Dreamer” and these two types blend well together. They both care about what is just and fair. The One seeks fairness through rules, while the Nine seeks fairness in making sure everyone has a chance to voice their opinion. When healthy this Nine is balanced and productive. They stand up for what they believe is right. They are self-assured and they share their opinions, thoughts, and ideas with confidence. When they are not healthy they are silently judgmental and resentful. They avoid their problems while quietly blaming others for their flaws. The 9w8 is known as “The Comfort Seeker” and this combination is like oil and water. The Nine wants to keep the peace and maintain harmony with others, while the Eight is all too comfortable and willing to vocalize when they disagree. When healthy this Nine is steady and able to stand their ground. They are independent, present to themselves, and fully connected with others. They are positive and have a calming presence. When they are not healthy they are quiet and withdrawn. Instead of working through conflict they avoid or cut the conflict completely out of their life leading to the very thing they want to avoid most: loss of connection with others. In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth "Creek" Creekmore speak with Seth Abram, co-host of Fathoms | An Enneagram Podcast, about Enneagram Type Nine, “Striving to Feel Peaceful.” They discuss this type's desire to feel inner harmony and how they can be self-deprecating and resistant to change. Seth shares how being a Type Nine shapes how he approaches things as well as debunks misconceptions about this type.“He is the reason that I know about the Enneagram. I will admit that.” -Creek [01:36]“Everybody thinks 'Oh Nines are easy going and get along with everybody, and they're nice.' They are until they aren't. Most Nines when you get to spend some time with them, you will see flashes of temper. You will feel anger. You will see assertiveness that comes out, but it's usually in response to not feeling peaceful.” -Mario [10:31]“There's no such thing as a Nine. There's a person. There's an individual who has some patterned way they express themselves, but there's no such thing as a Nine. And I just think that when people confuse a person for this type, you don't let me be anything else than the idea you have in your head. And that limits me, and I hate being limited.” -Seth [45:26]“So much of what you were describing as Nine-ish is also very similar to navigating, so that might be one of the reasons why it's hard to see the navigating, because it might be seen or perceived as Nine-ish. Some of the things, at least.” -María José [1:03:33]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[01:28] This week's guest, Seth Abram[05:26] The strategy of the Nine[09:35] Striving to Feel Peaceful[12:13] The connecting points[13:26] How Seth learned about the Enneagram[17:32] Resistance to change and holding space[20:01] Seth's experience with ATA[24:04] Adaptive and maladaptive ways[31:38] Flipping of the switch and self-deprecation[39:40] Type Nine as a leader[42:56] Misconceptions about Type Nine[47:50] Tips to using the strategy in a better way[53:12] The Nine's subtypes[1:10:08] A level of security, feeling seen and safe[1:12:30] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand Mario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comPod: Enneagram in a MovieMaria Jose Munita: IG: @mjmunitaWeb: mjmunita.comSeth "Creek" Creekmore: IG: @creekmoremusicPod: Fathoms | An Enneagram PodcastPod: Delusional OptimismSeth Abram:IG: @integratedenneagramMusic:
Until they become more awakened the average enneagram type Nine finds subtle ways to steer clear of conflicts, especially in relationships. The avoidance of conflict is how Nine's unconsciously believe they will achieve peace for their soul but, ironically, this “solution" becomes their primary problem because the avoidance provides only a false peace for the ego. Sooner or later, type Nines must learn to embrace conflict in order to mature and become a powerful force for others and enjoy true inner peace. Today's guest on HOWS THAT WORKING FOR YOU?, Nanette Mudiam, has been learning the importance of facing conflict consciously, first by facing her own mistakes in life head-on, and then later through a timely introduction to the deeper enneagram path, just as conflict seemed overwhelming. Today, as the executive director of a non-profit that provides physical, mental and spiritual health care, Nanette is utilizing all of her life experience and her strengths as a Nine to pull communities and resources together to minister to a politically and often even religiously controversial population. Join our conversation as she shares how she has learned to "hold the tension" of conflict long enough for solutions to emerge.
In this episode of the Awareness to Action Enneagram podcast, Mario Sikora, María José Munita and Seth "Creek" Creekmore discuss Enneagram Type Three, “Striving to Feel Outstanding.” Drew Moser, co-host of Fathoms | An Enneagram Podcast, joins them to share how being a Type Three shows up in his life. The four talk about how Type Threes aim to feel like they're standing out in some way, the blind spots that occur from this and how there's so much more going on under the surface. They discuss the misconception that while Type Threes can appear self-centered and selfish, they also want to make other people's lives better as well.“I think that's at the core of the Type Three is that they're always calibrating the proposition of their lives.” -Drew [09:07]“So they have this reputation in the Enneagram world of being self-centered and selfish, but healthy Threes are really, really trying to make the world better for everybody.” -Mario [11:13]“All I'm hearing is the pattern of expression is as sure as gravity, is what Mario is saying.” -Creek [23:22]“I wanted to highlight how your description of Type Nine is nothing close to what a Nine would say about being a Nine, I think, because of how a Three embodies the Type Nine strategy of ‘Striving to Feel Peaceful,' and that's interesting.” -María José [34:57]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:58] This week's guest, Drew Moser[03:49] About Type Three[07:42] Adopted language for describing Type Three[11:51] How Drew learned about the Enneagram[14:57] Drew's understanding of the Enneagram[18:05] Patterns of expression[24:25] Drew's strategy in adaptive and maladaptive ways[32:01] The connecting points[40:24] Achievement vs anxiety[44:25] Why use neglected and support strategy[47:17] Type Three blind spots[52:01] Check in on Threes[54:17] How to contact Drew[54:44] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand Mario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comPod: Enneagram in a MovieMaria Jose Munita: IG: @mjmunitaWeb: mjmunita.comSeth "Creek" Creekmore: IG: @creekmoremusicPod: Fathoms | An Enneagram PodcastPod: Delusional OptimismDrew Moser:Web: typetrail.coIG: @typetrailenneagramTwitter: @drewmoserPod: Fathoms...

In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia are joined by Russ Hudson to discuss Mario's all-time favorite movie, “The Thin Red Line.” The 1998 war film marked the return of director Terrence Malick, after 20 years from his last film. The four hosts discuss the higher Enneagram themes at play in the film as well as the Enneagram types of some of the characters.“I think we're meant not to see these people as individual hermetically-sealed identities moving against a static background, but there's a certain fluidity. And I think the reason for the casting that way and not dwelling a long time on any single character was meant to put us into this framework of how we're all kind of connected in all of this.” - Russ Hudson [29:04]“I think there's a very Four-ish theme in the film, is that there's depth and beauty in every single person, regardless of the fact that many of them look alike, that they're dressed alike, that they have to do the same thing.” - TJ Dawe [45:26]“Step away from the judgment, because the judgment keeps us separated. But once we let go of the judgment, then we can find unity again.” - Mario Sikora [1:09:36]“The first time I watched it, I was trying to decide if I thought Witt has some Four-ish stuff going on, because a lot of this feeling and affect from him honestly feels a lot like my wife who's a Four. Just sort of this acception of the reality of what's going on, and a deep empathy of humanity. Sort of a closeness to death, not even in a dark morose kind of way. I wanted to do this series about questions to ask yourself as each enneagram type for a couple of reasons. Because I thought it would be fun to do basically a guided journaling session together. Because I think it's helpful to explore the part of each of us that is carrying the pressure of each enneagram type. Just because you're a type 8 doesn't mean that you never struggle with self-silencing or people pleasing. Where does that come in for you? In this episode, María José Munita returns to the podcast to talk with Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia about their favorite movie, “Groundhog Day.” The four discuss the psychospiritual elements and philosophical themes in the film as well as the Enneagram types for the main characters. They also talk about how the film illustrates the process of growth.“Without the explanation, he's sort of protagonist and antagonist at the same time, and so it just focuses on him and his experience. I think it's much for the better that they didn't go down that road.” - TJ Ingrassia [17:24]“That's what happens with Nines. They can say the worst thing to you and they will sound nice anyways most times.” - María José Munita [28:45]“The thought that came with that is the dawning of curiosity comes after you've hit the wall. And so much personal work comes, not when somebody else tells us that we should do it or you see a list online or something like that, but when you reach a point where you just have to have that moment of clarity, that conversation with yourself of like what's going on?” - TJ Dawe [1:03:45]“María José was talking about how change feels uncomfortable and unnatural. In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia are joined by special guests, Clay Tumey, author of “The Blue Chip Store: How Bank Robbery Changed My Life,” and Susan Olesek, founder of Enneagram Prison Project. The panel of five discuss the 1994 drama, “The Shawshank Redemption,” starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. With the film set in a prison, Clay draws from his experience in prison while Susan explores her work with incarcerated people and the Enneagram to not only look at the movie about a man who is wrongfully accused of murder, but to also examine it as a story of a person who's trapped in a personality.“I also thought that with this character captured better than almost anything I've seen about the Fives is the tenderness at the heart of the Type Five. This sweetness, this kindness that most people don't get to see because what they see is the detached piece.” - Mario Sikora [35:36]“There's so much generosity in the Five, and I love that you're highlighting it because I think that's why we love the Five so much.” - Susan Olesek [38:21]“I just didn't buy it from him in terms of feeling like he really meant it. It almost felt like he was more using that as a cover to just have power over people. But that could speak to his unhealthier… That's a way an unhealthy one would use some of that is they don't really believe it for themselves. They just believe it for other people or something.” - TJ Ingrassia [1:01:40]“Captain Hadley, he embodies everything that I appreciate about Type Eight, even when he's beating the hell out of people. The thing that I appreciate is I never have to wonder, almost never have to wonder where I stand with the Type Eight.” - Clay Tumey [1:08:07]“That got me thinking, this movie works as a metaphor for being in any life situation that you believe you're stuck in, and there's a better life somewhere on the horizon. In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia discuss the 1987 film, “The Princess Bride,” and reveal how easy it can be to look at a film and interpret it differently. The hosts examine the Enneagram Types for each character, at times not agreeing. Is Iñigo Montoya a Type Three or Type Four? What Enneagram Type do they see for Wallace Shawn's Vizzini? Why was Andre the Giant's character, Fezzik, the perfect Type Nine? Listen as the hosts share their thoughts on these and other characters.“I thought Count Rugen was maybe the one of the best Fives I've ever seen in a movie. Talk about detached.” - TJ Dawe [29:18]“The Navigating One, I think, is a subtype that's often misunderstood. Other people call this the Social One, and people have a tendency to think the so-called Social One is a reformer. Somebody who wants to change the world. That's not what's going on here.” - Mario Sikora [33:24]“If I had a thousand years with this movie, I never would have guessed One. I had her as a Four all day long, and maybe part of this is because… I might be biased, because my wife is a Four. And I felt like I was watching my wife through the course of this film.” - TJ Ingrassia [35:53]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:29] This week's movie: “The Princess Bride”[07:52] About the movie[12:44] The director, Rob Reiner, and the casting[19:01] Andre the Giant as Fezzik, a Type Nine[23:10] Wallace Shawn as Vizzini[29:15] Count Rugen as Type Five[32:04] Robin Wright as Buttercup[39:55] Westley's Enneagram Type[44:26] Iñigo Montoya: Type Three or Type Four?[51:59] Miracle Max's Enneagram Type[52:41] Overall tone of the movie[55:42] William Goldman and his Enneagram Type[57:57] Westley and Buttercup as a One, a Four, or an Eight?[1:02:21] OutroConnect with us:Awareness to ActionEnneagram on Demand The Awareness to Action Enneagram PodcastMario Sikora: IG: @mariosikoraWeb: mariosikora.comTJ Dawe:Web: tjdawe.caTJ Ingrassia:Web: tjingrassia.comYouTube: @TypeCast
In this episode, Mario Sikora, TJ Dawe and TJ Ingrassia discuss the two films, “Black Panther '' and “Avengers: Infinity War,” focusing on the primary character, The Black Panther. They explore the themes of excellence and aspiration in “Black Panther” as Enneagram Type Three as well as make the case for Killmonger as a Type Three or Type Eight. They also talk about the issues of life and vitality in “Avengers: Infinity War.”“A big Nine-ish theme that I saw in the movie altogether is the theme of keeping your brilliance hidden. Many Nines have all the talent in the world, and it stays within their own mind or stays within the confines of their own homes or maybe a few people who know them. So there's often this reticence to shine and there's reticence to get involved.” - TJ Dawe [19:13]“He walks into the apartment as himself, but then for a little bit, he actually reverts to his childlike form. And it felt to me like a pretty good picture of… what you read about in a lot of the Enneagram literature is that inside of the Eight is the small, fragile child that they're protecting.” - TJ Ingrassia [33:01]“In Eights, vitality gets stunted and they feel this deadness inside, and they're trying to recapture it in some way. And this is why we see all this exertion, this excessiveness, this extremeness in Eight. It's this ideal way of trying to capture life again. For me, that was just a big theme in the movie.” - Mario Sikora [1:07:32]TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Intro[00:44] This week's movies[04:07] “Black Panther”[07:10] Hosts' thoughts on the film[12:36] Marvel movies and Type Eight archetype[13:13] Ryan Coogler as a director[15:16] Type Three or Type Nine?[25:09] Michael B. In this series on paths, we take a deeper look at each enneagram type by discovering how our dominant type is connected to these whole other sides of our personality through the arrow lines of the enneagram. Traditionally called “stress path” and “growth path,” Jessica teaches a different way of looking at the paths as a dynamic part of our personality that we take both positive and negative characteristics from on a day to day basis, but can lean into and grow through in seasons.
We continue our Enneagram ConvoCast series with Mr. Nine and longtime cohost of the YOBcast: Ryan! Ryan shares with Tom his motivations, fears, stress, and security as a Type Nine (the Peacemaker). As a member of our YOB community, how does his Nine-ness manifest in the realms of sexuality, masculinity, and relating with other men? Ryan compares himself to how Julia Roberts orders eggs in Runaway Bride, and he also pleads with other types to let him just enjoy his wrong restaurant order! He discusses the Nine's ability to "merge" with other people's passions and personalities in a loss of personal identity, and we read some extensive YOBBER feedback that exchanges "peace" for "unity" as a Nine's primary motivator. We discuss some other feedback about coming out publicly as a Nine versus coming out selectively to "keep the peace." What happens at a church after Ryan comes out and serves in the children's ministry, and some parents are acting a little off? Finally, Ryan shares about the Nine's fear of neediness as he reacts to the neediness in others. Listen to our full Enneagram conversation! And be sure to follow us these next few weeks as we dial around the Enneagram and talk to each type in our community! A quick glance at the Enneagram symbol and you notice that the Type Nine sits at the top of the circle. So you might say that - graphically at least - Nines can easily ‘see' all the other types from their vantage point. What is true from a graphic perspective is actually also true in reality: Nines tend to naturally notice everyone, are curious about their needs and viewpoints, and deeply desire to create a peaceful space that draws and keeps everyone together to bring about a greater common good. Nines easily see the value in individuals, want to encourage that value, and want them to be confident in asserting their value outward to the world. The painful irony is that Nines often struggle mightily to recognize and believe in their own unique value enough to offer it boldly to the world. This generally leads to an unconscious pattern where Nines habitually subordinate their own needs, desires, dreams and value to others, much of which is driven by a deep fear of painful rejection if the Nine takes a chance and offers their true self to the world. While this unaware strategy might "work" in the short term and to some degree, it eventually creates enough suffering and inner anger that something needs to give. So how might a Nine become not only aware of the hidden personality pattern that is sabotaging relationships and dreams but also a pathway through to their essence? Join us on this episode as real estate marketing consultant, podcast producer AND podcast host, digital media techno-geek, husband and dad, hip-hop devotee, golfer and card-carrying Nine, my friend Ronnie Gatrey, switches chairs and mics to share his very valuable Nine journey. And tune in to see if we can impart any value to Ronnie even though he doesn't have a valuable addiction!

In this coaching session with an Enneagram Nine, we explore the deep desire for both peace & autonomy. She shares the experience of digging her heels in when others are pushing or pulling her as well as the internal desire to not have such stubborn boundaries with others. We explore the “too muchness” & overwhelm that's felt in the Type Nine structure and how we can help support ourselves so that we don't instantly collapse or hide when we feel swept up in the undertow of others. In our coaching conversation, we give some language to the felt-sense of boundaries and the overwhelm so that we have more awareness of our experience in real-time. I hope you'll listen in with curiosity & see what resonates in your experience.Interested in Enneagram coaching? They explore the films, “Gone Girl” and “Wild.” They discuss how the two films provide a comprehensive view of the complexity of the Three while ending with completely opposite tones.“I think there were a lot of navigating themes in here, but with the understanding that just because somebody's navigating doesn't mean they're good at it.” - Mario Sikora [03:29]“Finding your best self and it's also some Three thing. Mario and TJ continue their conversation about Clint Eastwood. While known for his tough-guy roles as cops, cowboys, and soldiers, Eastwood as a director actually illustrates the fundamental elements of Enneagram Type Nine. Join Mario and TJ as they discuss Type Nine through Eastwood and three of his movies, “Unforgiven,” “Million Dollar Baby,” and “American Sniper.”“Again, there's this idea that Nines are these easy going people and never cause trouble. Nines often like to needle people, right? They like to provoke, but again, they like to do it in a sly sort of way.” - Mario Sikora [34:07]“That scene you mentioned where he comes home from a rodeo and finds his girlfriend in bed with another man, he gets violent and he throws the guy out. So it's very easy to see that and think, ‘Wow, there's no way he's a Nine, ‘cause Nines are passive and gentle and nice and accepting.' But the thing about that as you mentioned he was socialized by his father to be tough, and Nines often will take on just ‘What are the things that I'm expected to be? For Season Two, hosts Mario Sikora and TJ Dawe will explore the Enneagram through the lens of movie directors whose work demonstrates themes related to the nine Enneagram types and three instinctual biases. In this season premiere, Mario and TJ discuss Type Nine through Clint Eastwood and the first of four movies, “The Outlaw Josey Wales.” While known for his tough-guy roles as cops, cowboys, and soldiers, Clint Eastwood as a director actually illustrates the fundamental elements of Enneagram Type Nine.“And I think in real life, Eastwood is this transmitting Nine, right? When you see interviews with him, he's engaging, he's expressive. You can tell, even though he's humble, there's a part of him that likes the limelight. You don't step up and make a 70-year career being in front of camera if you don't have some urge to transmit and be noticed. So we should say that he's humble for a Hollywood actor.” - Mario Sikora [26:18]“He's incredibly prolific. He's 91. He's still going as of this recording. Nines are referred to as part of the Body-type triad. Ironically, though, they often experience life as disconnected from their own body, which can help lead to an unconscious pattern of fusing or merging into the life of significant others, systems, groups or ideologies and thus “forgetting” their truest self. Join in this podcast as we hear a Social Nine (the enneagram's counter-type) relate some of his painful journey from self-forgetting, anger and addiction, into the beautiful process of re-covering his created essence as a healer and mediator of head, heart and body.

In this interview, speaker, writer, and Enneagram Coach Jenn Whitmer breaks down conflict and the Enneagram, going type-by-type about where each Enneagram type struggles, shines, and what would serve us well to remember. Day 4: Know You’re Worth ItThis is important Believe you are worth it Know why you’re worth itEmbarking on a journey to become sugar-free requires sacrifice, energy, money, and time. You have to understand that you are worth it. When you learn to embrace that, it makes it easier to maintain your mindset. Often it is the needs of others that derail your efforts. They need this, they need that, your focus is broken and suddenly, your perspective has been clouded. Putting yourself first and understanding your worth will be easier to do for some Enneagram numbers than other. So today I want to remind you of what IS GOOD about you and what your gifting is. So here are a few reminders for you: Type One: you are honest, fair, poised, polite, and sincere. Your ideasand opinions are sound and reasonableType Two: You have the amazing ability to sustain positive affections for other people. You go out of their way to support, help, and care for others because you are loving, compassionate, and generous.Type Three: You have the desire and will to improve themselves, motivate others to be their best, and adapt to any given situation. You have a healthy sense of self and can remain positive for a long time.Type Four: are very self-aware, self-revealing, and able to communicate about your inner world in a way that helps others do the same.Type Five: you are profoundly perceptive and capable of original, brilliant, and inventive solutions to problems.Type Six: you think systematically and can predict potential problems. You are very loyal and committed! Type Seven: you do many things well because of your quick and sharp mind.Type Eight: use their remarkable instinctive intuition to see possibilities in situations, and people that are often overlooked.Type Nine: open, receptive, reassuring, and encouraging to others. You create a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere that enables others to flourish. Now is the time to write out a list of why you’re worth this hard work and effort. It’s time for you to get to know your value and worth.
The Enneagram Type Nine: The Peacemaker It’s time for our last and final episode in the Learning, Leading, Loving, and Laughing series. This week’s episode is all about the Enneagram type nine, otherwise known as the Peacemakers. I dive into their core motivations, what makes them the kings and queens of the Enneagram, their strengths and weaknesses, and how they are uniquely different from every other type. Listen to this episode if you love, lead, or are a nine, and hear how to help bring out the best in them, recognize their own skills and opinions, and communicate with them to make them feel seen, heard, and understood. Holding back a piece of yourself I start off describing what makes The Peacemakers special, how they can see all viewpoints of the other types but how this sometimes blocks them from seeing their own views and making their own opinions. I discuss how the nines are incredibly kind, loyal, inclusive, empathetic, and caring, and how they fall under the body triad, meaning their underlying emotion is anger. I talk about how the nines are known for sleeping on their own thoughts and ideas, and how they try so earnestly to keep the peace that they keep their own thoughts to themselves in order to not disrupt it. If you love or lead a nine, I discuss the importance of helping them focus on themselves and making nines feel appreciated and seen. Focusing on the transformation If you are a nine, I discuss different ways you can practice leaning into your strengths, how to focus on yourself and your thoughts and opinions. I share my own experiences working with nines, and how to help them feel appreciated, speak their language, become the healthy version of themselves, and pull them out of their unhealthy habits to truly embrace who they really are.Quotes:3:26At their best, when they are strong and healthy and embody their gifts, they are like Yoda— they’re the wise one.7:22Unhealthy 9’s have trouble making decisions, they become overly dependent.14:36Anger is a very healthy, productive emotion when channeled and leveraged for good.20:23They say 9s can embody the idealism of 1s, the kindness of 2s, the attractiveness of 3s, the creativity of 4s, the intellectual horsepower of 5s, the loyalties of the 6s, the optimism of the 7s and the adventurousness of the 7s and the strength of the 8s.25:45Because sometimes they can lack drive and focus the average 9s, often become jack of all trades but masters of none.28:469s can and do make decisions, but because of their ambivalent nature it can take them a long time.37:12The stubbornness is their go-to passive aggressive behavior, especially when they feel like they’re being pressured into agreeing to a plan or doing something they don’t want to do.41:51They just kind of know who in the room most needs the peace and reassurance that everything will be okay. 46:33The 9 can solve problems and put together deals where everybody wins.52:21Spiritually, the absence of conflict is not necessarily the presence of peace.

Finally! The Enneagram Nine. We've reached the end of our Summer of Self Awareness series uncovering the nine Enneagram types, and we finally arrive at the Type 9, Peacemaker. The Peacemaker needs to avoid conflict. Nines are laid back, accommodating, and generally unaffected by life. A deep desire to keep the peace can cause Nines to lose themselves and merge into the opinions and feelings of others. They can struggle to make decisions and can be frustratingly ambivalent, often feeling torn by even the simplest of choices. Nines in health are highly empathic, diplomatic, and flexible.Just in case you may have missed some of our other discussions or want to refresh your memory, check out this list of episodes: The Enneagram (overview)Enneagram and Relationships (w/ Sarajane Case)Becoming Your Own Guru e-course audio files (Patreon)Prefer to read? Enneagram type 9's - The Peacemakers - are self-effacing, receptive, reassuring, and agreeable. They are generous, calm, and able to see all sides of an issue with a level head. Their desire to keep the peace can lead them to becoming complacent and indecisive. On this episode of The Behaviorist, Work Wisdom's Kimberlee Peifer is joined by Jill Laskowitz, Attorney at Blakinger Thomas, and also an Enneagram 9. Jill shares how a 9's ability to mediate and de-escalate tensions is a valuable skill in her chosen profession in the courtroom. Find out how Jill discovered that the “low energy” common for 9's does not mean lack of drive or work ethic, but rather how 9's can need to turn inward and need to remember to ask for help in making decisions. Spoiler alert: Marie Kondo is a 9's best friend! Jill and Kimberlee delve into the “why” of what 9's do, and how learning more about this type's deepest fears and motivators can lead to creating healthy habits and mindsets specific to this type. Want to get healthier? Let your enneagram number be your guide. Inside I teach enneagram type nine how to use their type for health. Getting outside of standard health benchmarks and learning how to live in health rather than for it! Nine's, you bring light and comfort to the world that people rely on. While you see turmoil and the daily stress of keeping the peace, you give an enormous amount of positivity to everyone you encounter. You are genuinely receptive, accepting, and emotionally stable. So much so that you often suppress your own feelings, lacking a sense of awareness to fight for peace. While we love this about you - we don't want you to stop loving yourself for other people. That is the easy trap for the nine to get into - giving so much to other people they are too exhausted to give back to themselves. But I want you to remember that the only way you can fill someone up is first to fill yourself. To come to health not as another exhausting task that you don't enjoy but to find comfort and life inside of it. Inside this episode, we talk about how enneagram nines can live in health, all while honoring the comfort and peace they crave. We've also created a free download for teaching you how to make health who you are through your enneagram number. Download the guide, print it off, and see how much it resonates with your life.
