WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A HELPER? "But I guess that's part of the reason why we're doing this series, isn't it? Because if we can acknowledge that that is a potential feeling, an expression of being an Enneagram 2, then knowing that that is a red flag can be so useful because then you can step back from it and examine what your motivation is and work out how to proceed..." At Leeds Sanctuary, we run popular Retreat Days and a Book Club all about The Enneagram - an ancient personality typing tool which many people still find helpful and relevant today! In this podcast series, join Emily and Anna as they discuss the strengths and challenges of each Enneagram type, their core motivations and fears, defence mechanisms, and tips for being emotionally healthy over stressed and burnt out. Oil and gas managers often view every decision as high-stakes and irreversible, but in the digital world, not all choices carry that weight. Jeff Bezos's concept of “Type One” (irreversible) and “Type Two” (reversible) decisions offers a powerful framework for rethinking decision-making in the energy sector. While some digital investments—like SCADA integrations or major cybersecurity upgrades—are genuine Type One decisions requiring caution, many can be structured to minimize risk. In this episode, I explore practical approaches like pilots, modular designs, and SaaS solutions that help reframe digital investments as low-risk, high-reward opportunities. By distinguishing between true Type One decisions and those that only seem that way, oil and gas companies can accelerate adoption cycles, manage risk effectively, and unlock value faster. The feeling of being overwhelmed, stuck, and overextended doesn't have to be your natural state (even if it is the common state of America). We have become so used to feeling overwhelmed that it's become the silver medal to our “busy” lifestyle. It doesn't have to be that way! As an entrepreneur, I feel like we get a double whammy of it. We are multi-passionate, multi-faceted, and multi-visionaries (we have goals for ourselves, our families, and our businesses). It doesn't have be this way! One of the biggest challenges we have in understanding why we do what we do so that we can have what we want to have. We are not afraid of hard work…and yet we find ourselves working so hard- just to make things work. It doesn't have to be this way! Today I talk about my client, Sarah, who is an amazing woman, really she was considered to be supermom. And she was tired. She felt like she was never enough and if she said no to something that she would be a failure or worse- never asked to do something again. When we started diving into her story and her choices. We first started with the Enneagram. “This changed everything for me,” said Sarah, “this has helped me understand my needs, desires, and goals more than anything else and now I can set boundaries and still feel needed.” What would be possible for you if you knew why you did what you did and how to adapt to start doing what you want and need to do rather than your instinctual reaction? Let's dive in! The 5 Ways the Enneagram Elevates Self Awareness: Clarifying Your Why: Understand your core motivations and align your actions with your purpose. Spotting Blind Spots: Recognize your weaknesses and make strategic decisions to avoid pitfalls. Building Stronger Relationships: Improve communication and anticipate needs, strengthening connections with clients, partners, and loved ones. Leading Authentically: Lead confidently and authentically, attracting the right people and building a brand that reflects the true you. Mastering Emotional Responses: Manage your emotions effectively and maintain clarity even in challenging situations. Check out this resource I created with you in mind! 3 BIGGEST MISTAKES MADE WHEN STARTING A BUSINESS Ready to take action? Book a Call with Me! Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy! Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen. Key Takeaways: Balancing Responsibilities: Sarah, an entrepreneur and mother, struggled with burnout and dissatisfaction despite her success due to overextending herself in personal and professional commitments. Self-Discovery through the Enneagram: Sarah's journey of self-awareness began with the Enneagram, where she identified as a Type Two, characterized by a desire for love and fear of unworthiness. This understanding helped her recognize her tendency to prioritize others' needs over her own. Establishing Boundaries: With the help of a coach, Sarah learned to set boundaries and say "no" to commitments that didn't align with her values, leading to increased energy and business revenue. Importance of Self-Awareness: The Enneagram was highlighted as a tool for enhancing self-awareness, helping individuals clarify motivations, spot decision-making blind spots, manage emotions, build stronger relationships, and lead authentically. Personal Growth and Fulfillment: Sarah's journey emphasized the importance of separating self-worth from actions and embracing one's identity, leading to growth in business, family relationships, and personal well-being. Workshops and Resources: Tami announced upcoming workshops and resources aimed at helping individuals create visions, build self-care plans, and enhance productivity, encouraging them to pursue their goals with confidence and clarity. Journal Question: When was the last time you felt overwhelmed, stuck, or burnt out? Did you feel like you were saying yes to things that you didn't want to or no to things you long to do? Reflect on the reason why you felt compelled to say yes or no. If you could have done it differently, what would you have done? Want more information about the upcoming VISION LAB? The nurse turned pale when she read the glucometer. The whole office kicked into emergency mode and when the doc came in, he let me know I was going to be there a while. My blood sugar was super high and had been super high every time I'd been tested over the last five months but now that I was in this endocrinology office, it was suddenly an emergency. A young man came in to give me an insulin shot and asked me if it was Type One or Type Two and I gave him the biggest shrug I have ever shrugged. No one had diagnosed me yet. Diagnosis: I have Type-I-Don't-Know-Man-I-Guess-I-Have-Diabetes. Maybe ask the doctor whose office you work in? To keep reading A Day at the End of May visit the Songs for the Struggling Artist blog. Alison Smart has a teenage daughter who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes almost three years ago. Her family found that lifestyle modifications, dietary changes and a regimen of daily injections utilizing the basal insulin Levemir enabled her daughter to achieve excellent blood glucose results! Alison's daughter is an athlete who experiences a typical teenage life with little disruption from diabetes. However, in November of 2023 Novo Nordisk announced Levemir insulin would be discontinued. This announcement came just months after Novo Nordisk announced they would significantly decrease the price of this insulin. Alison got to work and joined with others who are also incredulous at the thought of being left with only the option of two other basal insulins or an insulin pump. They created the Alliance to Protect Insulin Choice, started a petition on change.org, compiled a YT video of testimonials, and met with several senators and congressional representatives in Washington DC. They continue to move forward with their goal of pressuring Novo Nordisk to slow down the discontinuation and produce Levemir until a biosimilar basal insulin is available.Find Alison at-FB- @Alliance to Protect Insulin ChoiceTW- @insulinchoiceIG- @alliancetoprotectinsulinchoiceinsulinchoice@gmail.comFox News ArticleFind Boundless Body at- myboundlessbody.com Book a session with us here!

Hey ladies, welcome back to our podcast! Today, we're diving into a fascinating topic: how your Enneagram personality type can impact your business. If you're not familiar, the Enneagram is a personality typing system that describes nine interconnected personality types. Each type has its own set of motivations, fears, and behaviors that can greatly influence how we approach our work and business ventures. For example, Type Ones, known as "The Perfectionists," are driven by a desire to do things right and improve the world around them. In business, they might excel at creating high-quality products or services but might struggle with delegating tasks due to their high standards. On the other hand, Type Threes, "The Achievers," are goal-oriented and driven by success. They can be great at networking and promoting their business but may need to be mindful of burnout due to their relentless pursuit of success. Understanding your Enneagram type can give you valuable insights into your strengths and weaknesses as a business owner. In this episode of the Enneagram and Coffee podcast, I provide advice to a Type 2 listener who is married to a Type 4. My suggestion is to set boundaries, prioritize personal needs, and avoid the urge to 'rescue' the other person in order to maintain a healthy relationship. I also emphasize the importance of self-reliance and resilience and advise against falling into despair or becoming overly dependent. I encourage the listener to appreciate the strengths in their relationship and to learn from each other's emotional skills. -- Thank you to this week's podcast sponsor - Notion! In this episode of the Enneagram and Coffee podcast, I explore the concept of the 'soul child' for Type Two individuals, referencing Sandra Maitri's book. I discuss the importance of acknowledging and embracing negative emotions for personal growth. I encourage Type Twos to prioritize self-care, engage in activities that bring joy, and explore feelings of jealousy to understand their own needs. I also mention the concept of 'swamping' from a book by Mama Gina, which involves leaning into negative emotions to understand them better. -- Enneagram University ( bonuses available when you sign up through my link ) - https://www.theenneagramuniversity.com/?ref=6708b5 50% off honeybook - share.honeybook.com/sarajane725 FREE coaching business roadmap: https://sarajane-case-3grp.squarespace.com/freecoachingroadmap Notion Templates here - www.sarajanecase.com/shop Enneagram Coffee here - https://www.summitcoffee.com/sarajanecasestore Call/text your enneagram questions to (828) 338-9127 Grab a copy of my books at www.thehonestenneagram.com & www.theenneagramletters.com Check out my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/sarajanecase Learn more about your ad choices. In this podcast episode, Sarajane Case discusses the concept of accessing the inner child for Enneagram Type Eight individuals. She introduces the idea of the "soul child," which is the Enneagram type that the individual moves to in rest. For Type Eight, the soul child is Type Two. The episode explores how Type Eights often protect their vulnerability with a defensive and tough exterior and how they can access their inner child by confronting their neediness and pain. Sarajane provides a list of activities that can help Eights embrace vulnerability and suggests a one-week experiment of apologizing first in relationships to explore the impact it has. -- Thank you to this week's podcast sponsor: Find your forever pieces at jenniekayne.com Our listeners get 15% off your first order when you use code EGRAM at checkout. We all need to be loved. For Enneagram Twos, the deep core belief that you aren't loved or wanted can drive you to secure love from others by focusing on meeting their needs while denying your own. If you are a Two or connect to Two through a wing, line, or relationship, understanding shame and the role solitude plays in soul care is critical.Join us for this episode of Soul Talks as Bill and Kristi discuss solitude as a key soul care practice for Twos to combat unconscious coping mechanisms. You'll learn how to practice the discipline of solitude to reorient you to the love and embrace of Jesus rather than denying your own needs or striving to meet them in unhealthy ways.Resources for this Episode:Healthy Feelings, Thriving Faith: Growing Emotionally and Spiritually Through the EnneagramContact Soul Shepherding to Invite Bill & Kristi to SpeakSoul Shepherding InstituteSoul Shepherding Enneagram Resources

In this episode, Kelsey Taylor interviews Enneagram Twos, Jon and Sarah Storey on their wings. In the context of the Enneagram, your wings are the two numbers directly adjacent to your primary Type. The 2 with a 1 wing is known as the "Servant." These two are in conflict with each other with the Two's desire to be likable and the One's judgemental nature. The 2 with a 3 wing is known as the "Host/Hostess." These two easily complement each other. Both desire significance, and they both strive to be liked by others.
