Daughter, you are strong, courageous, radiant, secure, beautiful, brave, loyal, wise, compassionate. You can do hard things. You have done hard things. Adversity is likely the most relatable topic for women today. We wrestle with feeling worthy of unconditional love from God, being the “best” wife, mom, sister, friend, and/or daughter we can be, and stewarding our spiritual gifts to the fullest. This is just to name a few. We wrestle with matters out of our control like employment, finances, health challenges, infertility, loss, hatred...you get the picture. I KNOW every woman tuning in today relates to something I just listed. This broken world is FULL of adversity. We have GOOD NEWS in our faith. Join us today. I know you'll be encouraged.   Today's song is Highlands by Hillsong United.   Music credit: Rising by Surfaces   Find our study tools, devotionals, and more at www.wheatandhoneyco.com.

    Idolatry

What are things that get in the way of God being our only “god”? Idolizing ourselves, our loved ones, security (physical or financial), approval or acceptance, relationship status, career advancement, title, health, class, appearance, food, intellect, comfort, affirmation. Why might God warn us against idols? They distract us from Him and not in a way that we eventually work our way back but in a way that we lose sight of God permanently. There is permanence in idolizing things of this world. Today's conversation will leave you empowered to walk hand-in-hand with our one true God and be inspired to live a full life of freedom in Christ.   Our song of the week is How He Loves by John Mark McMillan.   Grab your copy of our Warrior Words Scripture Reference Tool, which inspired this entire season of the podcast, here.   Music credit: Rising by Surfaces

Join us for a fun conversation with Liz Forkin Bohannon, the founder of Sseko (Say-Ko) Designs, Together Coffee, and author of Beginner's Pluck. Sseko is an ethical fashion brand that works to educate and empower women. By providing employment and educational opportunities, Sseko enables women to continue their education and become leaders in their country. In four years, Sseko has grown from three women making sandals together under a mango tree, to an international fashion brand that provides employment, educational opportunities, and entrepreneurial training to over 76 women in East Africa. Using her unlikely story of a journalist-gone-shoe-maker, Liz shares her passion for social enterprise, conscious consumerism, social justice, creative leadership, gender equity, risk-taking, and empowering women. She believes deeply that business is a powerful platform for social change and that girls are our future. We invite you to check out ssekodesigns.com to learn more about the Sseko story and how to get involved.
