HAPPY VETERANS DAY!!!Our veteran population is crucial to our way of life for many reasons. They have dedicated a portion of their lives to protecting our freedoms, shaping our nation, and setting the example of adaptability and service. Veterans Day is a time for us to stand united in showing our respect and support to those who have served. Veteran wellness is something that must be a united, daily effort. Service members face unique challenges throughout their military careers. The type, intensity, and duration of service, along with multiple layers of complexity during the transition process into veteran status can have a negative impact on health and well-being. This is a meaningful topic to both of us for many reasons and we are proud to focus on ways to collaborate with individuals and organizations who support veteran health and well-being.Welcome to SEASON TWO of The Nature of Wellness Podcast!!! Join us for this special premiere episode as we share two interviews with veterans who make life better for those who serve. John Langford served in the Marine Corps, as both enlisted and officer, for 23 years, retiring in 2009. During his service, John held multiple positions that focused on the health and well-being of active-duty Marines. John continues to devote his time to supporting those who have worn the uniform and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Project Healing Waters, a non-profit dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. John continues to devote his time to serving those who have served.John talks about the challenges that veterans face during the transition, how time in nature (especially near water) can positively impact health and well-being, the origins and incredible program offerings of PHW, and the power of resilience and authenticity. Sarah Evans served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Captain. While serving in Afghanistan in 2012, she was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, eventually leading to the amputation of her left leg at the hip. During her recovery, Sarah was introduced to adaptive sports, leading her down a path of self-discovery and growth. She has completed the 26.2-mile Bataan Memorial Death March and summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. Sarah has also competed in both the Warrior Games and Invictus Games and is currently a member of the US Amputee Soccer team. Sarah discusses some of the multi-dimensional wellness challenges veterans face, the need to build quality systems of support and finding your community, the power of “putting yourself out there,” and what is truly possible after facing adversity. We are beyond fortunate to have had these conversations and both left these discussions a bit different. Please subscribe, rate, and leave a review anywhere you listen to this podcast. Prime Video's hit show, 'With Love,' brought its cast together to discuss its second season, answering everything we want to know, like where is everyone since the season one finale? Will there still be a triangle between Lily, Nate, and Santiago? What holiday will we see the family celebrate next? -- and of course, who will be the next one to get married or fall in love? Answering some of these and more, we spoke with Emeraude Toubia, Rome Flynn, Desmond Chiam, Mark Indelicato, Vincent Rodriguez III, Isis King, Todd Grinnell, Constance Marie, and Benito Martinez. The cast told stories of what it's like working together on and off screen, why it's critical to show such a variety of relationships (no matter what your sexuality is), the importance of culture and family, and how you are never too old to be sexy or too old to have sex. Enjoy a remarkably open and frank conversation with the cast of, With Love. Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Polina Jdanova Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Synopsis: With Love is a romantic dramedy centered on siblings Lily and Jorge Diaz as they navigate big life changes and rely on their equally big family to get them through. Following her whirlwind romance with Santiago, Lily decides to focus all her energy on a personal journey of self-love by growing her makeup styling business and looking into homeownership. But when both Santiago and Nick profess their feelings for her, Lily wrestles with what is best for her future. Meanwhile Jorge begins to question whether he and Henry are truly compatible. When he meets Henry's proud Texan parents, he can't decide whether the relationship is a fairy tale or a nightmare. *With Love will be distributed exclusively on Prime Video globally on June 2, 2023 Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @SilenceonSet and Instagram @SilenceonSetPod

It's Season 2 of We Are Vineyard, and we're starting off with an exciting 2-part interview! Tim Mackie of BibleProject joins our host, Jay Pathak, to share about his relationship with Jesus as a child, the healing he experienced through the prayers of his church, and the disconnect he felt while attending school at a church. Tim talks about being reintroduced to Jesus through a dorky skateboarding-based church, and how following invitations from a cool leader at SkateChurch sparked his interest in the Bible, which transformed him from a disinterested student to an ignited scholar. Tim also shares about the lifelong friends he found through SkateChurch, meeting his wife through a mutual interest in Greek, and the origin story of BibleProject. This is a two-part episode, so make sure to come back next week for the second half of the story! Tim is married to Jessica, and together they are raising two little boys, Roman and August, in the wonderful city of Portland, Oregon. Tim is a creative writer for BibleProject. He's been fascinated with Jesus and his Jewish heritage ever since he became a Christian at 20 years old through an urban outreach ministry to skateboarders in Portland called SkateChurch. Tim discovered the wonderful world of biblical studies and languages at Multnomah University and Western Seminary, and he had the privilege of doing a PhD in Hebrew and Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tim's greatest passion is to help people grasp the beautiful and compelling story of the ancient Scriptures and how they lead us to Jesus of Nazareth. Cannabis comic and activist Ngaio Bealum joins us for our SEASON TWO PREMIERE, and he's selected two movies that are real gateway drugs to classic cinema. Both films are tense AF depictions of desperate men trying to pull off that one last score. Both movies were also made by domineering filmmakers, so, as Ngaio says, this could have been our asshole director episode. First up, is THE KILLING (1956), a cutting-edge noir from a young Stanley Kubrick making his first Hollywood studio film. Made on a shoestring budget, Kubrick still shows more than mere glimpses of his future promise with overlapping timelines, a camera that appears to move through walls and furniture, and brutal violence that is still shocking today. Backing Kubrick is a noir who's who with Sterling Hayden putting together an intricate racetrack heist, Timothy Carey AKA God Hilliard as a deranged hitman, Elisha Cook, Jr. as the weak link in the chain, and Marie Windsor as Elisha's conniving wife. There's also a hairy wrestler airplane spinning cops! What more can you ask for? How about a bunch of sweaty dudes driving truckloads of nitro across treacherous South American terrain where any bump in the road--and there are loads of bumps--could send them all sky high? Well, that's what we've got in Ngaio's second pick, Henri-Georges Clouzot's THE WAGES OF FEAR from 1953. This movie is more of a gateway drug to French cinema that classic film as a whole, but the last hour or so of it is a real white-knuckler so you'll really want to heed the weed recommendations for this one to get you through all that suspense. "Don't smoke a sativa with this one," Ngaio warns. The Killing is streaming for free with ads on Pluto The Wages of Fear is streaming on HBOMax, Criterion Channel & Kanopy You can follow Ngaio on Twitter and Instagram at @ngaio420. We hope to have him back on the show soon. Hosts: Bob Calhoun, Philena Franklin & Greg Franklin Theme song and closing theme: Chaki the Funk Wizard Cory Sklar is on assignment but he will be back for our Psychedelic Kaiju episode in February. The movies will be WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS (1966) & MATANGO (1963).

Welcome to the SEASON TWO PREMIERE of RohmerCast, the podcast about Éric Rohmer: his films, his working methods, and anything else we want to talk about related to Éric Rohmer. In our fifth episode we discuss La Collectionneuse (1967), his (second) first feature. This leads to the following tangents: coming up with a theme song for the show, the idea of a fictionalized documentary, the sound of the birds, direct sound as an aesthetic choice, intentionally with shooting ratio, Rohmer in relation to the Nouvelle Vague, comparisons to Bresson, the cognitive dissonance between image and voiceover, the objectification of Haydee, and achieving perfection in a single bound. At the time of release, this movie can be streamed on the Criterion Channel @criterioncollection (and is generally fairly accessible).Listen wherever you listen to podcasts (or go to RohmerCast.com). #ericrohmer #frenchnewwave #cinema #nouvellevague #filminstagram #filmtwitter #frenchcinema #cinephile #criterioncollection @criterioncollection @metrograph @mubi #podcast #filmpodcast @filmforumClip from 'Magnolia (1999)' property of New Line Cinema.
