1st reading is delivered by Ryan Koordi from Saint John Bosco Church in Jakarta, 2nd reading is delivered by Jane V. Untung from Saint Luke Church in Jakarta, Indonesia, Gospel reading and meditation delivered by Father Peter Tukan, SDB from the Salesian Don Bosco Community in Jakarta, Indonesia. Revelation 11: 19a; 12: 1.3-6a.10ab; Rs psalm 45: 10c-12.16; 1 Corinthians 15: 20-26; Luke 1: 39-56 GOD COUNTS THE LITTLE ONES Our meditation on this Sunday, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, has the theme: God Counts the Little Ones. Before Our Lady visited her sister Elizabeth in the mountain regions of Judea and sang her magnificat, she first made her confession of faith. To her appointment as the Mother of God who gave birth to the Redeemer of the world, Mary responded sincerely and calmly in these words: I am the handmaid of God, let it be done to me according to your word. This response signified an attitude of a humble and little human being. Mary did not respond with an emotional exclamation, with jubilation chant and with a dance of joy. In the singing of her magnificat, she also described herself as a humble person who was chosen by God, whereas the proud and arrogant ones were thrown down into misery. The Book of Revelation in the first reading depicts a woman appearing in Heaven surrounded by all the divine power, but she also appears so small and helpless in the face of the tremendous power of Satan and the evil one. Humility, obedience and a childlike lifestyle are parts of the golden teaching of the Lord Jesus. He had shown Himself as a model, namely His humility and self-sacrifice for the salvation of all mankind. Our obedience, humility and dependence on God are absolute, so that we can fight our own pride and ambition. That is a basic requirement to be able to enter and enjoy the Kingdom of Heaven. How glorious and important the little ones are, men and things, to God. It is true that the little ones are taken into account by God, and this really teaches us to appreciate and take into account the small or the little too. How can something or someone be great, if it never starts small or young? God uses our natural processes to instill His divine graces into us in the form of faith and wisdom. We know and grow in knowing God starting from a small initial process, a simple gesture and a way which is not free from mistakes. Jesus Christ is our forerunner in the path of humility, obedience, loyalty and dependence on God. He is the eldest of all those who have died. He was also the first in the resurrection for believers. All we need to do is to be like Mary who is obedient and faithful to the will of God in the way of the Lord Jesus Christ. After Mary, all of us who follow Christ are people who, in all dependence on God's will, long for eternal life in Heaven. Our Lady has already been there and is waiting for all of us. Let's pray. In the name of the Father... In your love and care, O Father, guide us to find answers to our journey of faith. May we always be faithful in imitating the Virgin Mary. Hail Mary... In conjunction with the release of his new pastoral note The Power of the Word of God, Archbishop Vigneron reflects on the Church’s teaching on Sacred Scripture and the graces and wisdom it holds for our lives. Show notes: (0:32) Archbishop reflects on the different nature of this Advent and Christmas season prepared to most, and what the beginning of the new year brings. Mike, Mary, and Archbishop discuss the March for Life in Washington DC that would usually be happening and the alternative ways people are supporting the pro-life mission from home. (12:06) Mike introduces the Archbishop’s new pastoral note on Scripture, The Power of the Word of God, which was released Sunday, January 24th, which is this year’s commemoration of the Sunday of the Word of God, established by Pope Francis. (15:24) Archbishop Vigneron gives an overview of what the Catholic Church teaches about Scripture, specifically that the Bible has two authors: the human author and the divine author, and the relationship between the Scripture and the liturgy. (20:34) Mike and Mary share their relationships with sacred Scripture as well, and the three reflect on Archbishop’s call to the faithful to be renewed in zeal of the Scripture and to teach it, even to the very young. (25:10) After Mary shares her family’s experience sharing and studying the Scripture at home with 52 Sundays, Archbishop Vigneron asks her and Mike how they see the Holy Spirit coming to the hearts of their children through the Scripture. (29:58) Archbishop shares the meaning of his reference to Scripture as a “dialogue of love,” sharing how important it is to God that we enter into conversation with him through the sacred Scriptures. Mike also addresses the pastoral note acknowledging that we need to not only read the Scripture, but also respond to it. (32:10) Archbishop discusses the practice of Lectio Divina, what it is, how it has affected his life, and how it can help us engage in “response” to the Scriptures, rather than just passive study. (40:43) Mary mentions Pope Francis’s establishing the Third Sunday of Ordinary Time as ‘Sunday of the Word of God,’ and Archbishop Vigneron reflects on what this distinction means, and how it transitions us between the celebration of the Lord’s birth in Christmas through to the celebration of his Passion during Lent and Easter. (43:10) Archbishop shares some of his favorite Scripture passages and the effect the Word of God had on his education and priestly formation. (52:00) Mary and Mike share questions from the faithful with the Archbishop, including some practical Families of Parishes questions, a question of progress in the archdiocese since Unleash the Gospel was published, which saint or pope Archbishop would have dinner with, and how to approach brothers and sisters who struggle with deviating from the Church. (1:04:54) Archbishop shares prayer intentions and closes the podcast with a blessing.

After Mary visited Elizabeth and received confirmation of what the angel had told her, she would now extol and bless and magnify the LORD. We are reading Luke 1:46-66. Mary extols the LORD for His fulfilled promise to Israel first spoken to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. She praised the Lord for His mercy, His strength and His might. She expressly rejoiced in her spirit calling the Lord, "God my savior." Here she acknowledges her need for a savior as all who know that sin has made them a people of humble circumstances. Dr. Mitchell says of Mary, “her heart was fully occupied with the Lord.” Are you and I occupied with the Lord Jesus and His finished work for us? Day 11: Two Are Better Than One: Find Your Elizabeths Read the Word: Hebrews 10:23-25, Ecc. 4:9-12  In the 1990s psychologist Robin Dunbar developed a method of defining the number of relationships we can sustain based on three factors: our brain’s capacity, the time we have available to sustain those relationships, and our attention span. It’s a formula known as Dunbar’s Number. His well-accepted research revealed several levels, or circles of relationships that were defined by the number of people in each group. The first circle, labeled “intimate friends,” is made up of four to eight people. In Women Finishing Well we labeled this group our circle of influence. These are the people you do life with—that love you no matter what—that pray with you and cry with you. They are your Elizabeths. After Mary got her news from Gabriel and a tip that her older relative Elizabeth was also expecting a miracle baby (Luke 1:36-45), she “hurried off to the hill country” to see her. (v. 39) She wasted no time building her circle of influence. She knew what was ahead and that she would need support and encouragement for the journey from a like-minded sister friend.   There are 59 one another scriptures in the New Testament. God created us to thrive in community. We weren’t meant to go it alone. We were meant to be at peace with one another, serve each other, pray for one another, love one another, be devoted to one another, honor one another above ourselves, stop passing judgment on one another, and carry one another’s burdens. And that is just the beginning. Mary needed Elizabeth to one another her through the coming nine or so months. Find the people that will stick with you no matter what.  Disruption is easier to face when you do it with a close friend by your side. They will help you hold unswervingly to the hope you profess.  Wait in prayer: Can you write down the names of two to four women that know you inside out? Women who share life together, pray for each other, and keep each other accountable to God? Women who know how to one-another each other? If you don’t have these women in your life, pray that God will help you start a list. Write down your first couple names and start praying. Proclaiming the Risen ChristIt was early Sunday morning, and the two Marys hastily made theirway to the tomb of Christ. They were not going to ask Him for any-thing. What could a dead man possibly give them? The last time theysaw Him, His body was bloodied, bruised, and broken. The scenes ofthe Cross were deeply etched in their minds. Now they were simplydoing their duty. Sorrowfully, they made their way to the tomb toembalm His body. The gloomy shadows of despondency engulfed theirlives in the darkness of despair. The future was uncertain and offeredlittle hope. When they arrived at the tomb, they were startled to find it empty.Matthew records the events of that Resurrection morning in thesewords: “But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not beafraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here;for He is risen’ ” (Matt. 28:5, 6, NKJV).The women were now overwhelmed with joy. Their dark clouds ofsadness faded into the sunlight of the dawning of Resurrection morn-ing. Their night of sadness was over. Gladness graced their counte-nances, and songs of rejoicing replaced their tears of lament.Read Mark 16:1–11. What was Mary’s response when she discoveredChrist had risen from the dead?_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________After Mary met the resurrected Christ, she ran to tell the story. Goodnews is for sharing, and she could not be silent. Christ was alive! Histomb was empty, and the world must know it. After we, too, meet theresurrected Christ along the highway of life, we, too, must run to tellthe story, for good news is for sharing. How fascinating, too, that despite all the times Jesus had told themwhat would happen, that He would be killed and then resurrected, thedisciples—those ones Jesus specifically chose—refused to believeMary’s testimony. “And when they heard that He was alive and hadbeen seen by her, they did not believe” (Mark 16:11, NKJV). Thus, ifeven Jesus’ own disciples didn’t immediately believe, we shouldn’t besurprised if others don’t immediately accept our words either. When was the last time you were rebuffed in your witness? Howdid you respond, and what have you learned from that experi-ence?

Dec 22, 2019, | Pastor Nathan Elms Like Mary, we believe the great promises of God's Word. We believe that God is going to do great things… but through me? Luke’s gospel brings the conversation Mary has with Gabriel to a close. What seems like an impossible reality in Mary’s eyes is not impossible when God is working. After Mary understands what is to be done, and her role in this divine plan, she humbly identifies herself as a bondservant of the Lord. She commits her life to fulfill his plan exactly as the Lord has called her to fulfill. As Mary comes to this conclusion and obeys the command of God, Gabriel departs from her. Nine months from this moment Mary will give birth to her Messiah and Savior. How often do we sit around waiting for God to show up? As believers, we need to consider the times God did show up, but we either failed to see because it was not a dramatic revelation, or we failed to obey because it appeared to us as an impossibility. God’s will is not always discovered in the dramatic invitation, but instead through simple obedience. As we obey the Lord and live transformed lives, we will be able to discern the will of God (Romans 12:1-2) https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+12%3A1-2&version=NKJV As we have seen in Mary’s story, her invitation comes from one who stands in the presence of God. I think we would all wish God would do that today, has he? God may be showing you exactly what he wants you do, but in your mind, you believe the task is impossible and you continue looking. Perhaps that impossible task that you sense you need to do, may in fact be that dramatic invitation from the Lord to partner in his will.

Behold He Cometh with Clouds V – The Destruction of Jerusalem  When Jesus was born and began to Minister in Judah and the surrounding countryside what Covenant was in force?  It is imperative that we understand this.  The law was in force.  Jesus himself had to submit to its ordinances.  After Mary’s purification according to the law Jesus was brought to the Temple that an offering to the Lord might be made. Luke 2:22-24  “And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord. 23  (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord), 24  and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”    My point in showing this in this study is to bring our attention to the fact that the Jewish people were still under the First Covenant when Jesus spoke.  So, when Jesus spoke of the coming destruction as recorded in Luke 21 and Matthew 24, he was speaking in relationship to the what had been declared under the first Covenant.  In Deuteronomy God spoke sharply to Israel in regard to not keeping his law, and having other God’s before Him.  He set before them blessing and cursing and told them they would be blessed to the uttermost, but if they did not keep his law they would be under the curse.  I challenge us all to read Deuteronomy 28 and to grasp that this Covenant was in force when Jesus came on the scene and when he declared the destruction of the Temple in Luke 21 and Matthew 24.   In Deuteronomy 28 we can see absolute parallels to what Jesus says in Luke 21 and Matthew 24, as well as what John writes in the Book of Revelation.  For example, in verses 49 and 50 of Deuteronomy 28, it is declared that the Israelites will be destroyed by a fierce nation.  When Jesus is born in Bethlehem, the fiercest of nations is in power in Jerusalem, with Rome having rule over them.  Verse 52 is one of the most powerful parallels to Jesus saying, “But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand,” you will find in your Bible.  This verse declares that a siege will be laid to the walls of Israel, and that they will come down.  According to history Rome did this to Jerusalem.    The scriptures are so powerful when we see them line up in accordance with one another.  Deuteronomy 28, also says that Israel will be destroyed with the sword, with famine, and pestilence.  This sounds very familiar if I compare it with the four horses of Revelation, which John sees riding through the land.  Deuteronomy 28 declares plagues upon Israel.  The Book of Revelation is full of plagues.  Deuteronomy 28 declares that their carcasses will be fed to the fowls of the air.  Jesus speaks that where the carcass is there the fowls will be gathered together.  There are so many similarities to what Jesus declares in Matthew 24 and Luke 21, what they Book of Revelation says, and what Deuteronomy says that it would be hard pressed to simply call them a coincidence.  In fact, I believe we should rather take a closer look at what is said.   Now how does this relate to Coming in Clouds.  In the Old Testament Cloud Comings speaks of the Glory Cloud filling the Temple as we have also seen, but also speaks of judgement to destruction.  The Book of Joel makes this clear.   Joel 2:1-6  Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 3. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. 4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. 5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.    “A day of clouds and thick darkness, a people great and strong.”   This is speaking of the looming destruction of Jerusalem.  Blow the trumpet and tremble for what is coming upon the land.  So, when Revelation speaks of great judgements, and plagues, and destruction, could it be that it goes along with the rest of the Bible and the First Covenant?  Could it be that God does what He says He will do?    Israel as a nation rejected Him.  They were not keeping Covenant.  When Messiah came, they did not receive Him as a nation.  As many as did became sons of God, but as a nation they turned from him and rather declared “Let His blood be upon us.”  In other words, they were responsible for His death, and they did not receive it as the sacrifice.  They did it from a vengeful heart.  Had they known they would not have crucified the LORD of Glory, for their power and place in the land was taken.  Jesus was glorified and raised from the dead with all power and glory.  He was then and now is the King of Israel and the King of the whole earth.   Let all the earth declare His Glory!

Remain with Me, Learning from the Joyful Mysteries Lourdes Pinto, Dec 21, 2017 Message of the Lord to LC at Gethsemane, at the rock where Jesus prayed. 11/2/17 Love Crucified has been called to REMAIN with Me as I continue to shed tears for Jerusalem, to remain with Me in My continuous agony for souls, to participate with Me in the salvation of the world, as you choose daily to receive the brokenness of the souls I have placed in your lives and to suffer with Me for them. The time of the great destruction draws near, many souls will be lost, you will hear the wailing of Jerusalem throughout the world. Bring Me victim souls to suffer with Me to obtain graces of conversion for many souls, who otherwise, will be lost. Believe in the power of your hidden lives of suffering with Me. Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary I – THE ANNUNCIATION Mary gives her FIAT: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38 Mary's life becomes her fiat of the Annunciation. We too gave our “fiat” to be Christ's victim souls at the moment of our Love Crucified Covenant before His presence in the Blessed Sacrament. After Mary's fiat, great trials, tribulations and sufferings fill her life, yet she remains faithful to her Covenant with God. MOC and MC, REMAIN with Christ as we are faithful daily to our LC Covenant. Therefore, on a regular basis, we must read, ponder and examine our lives according to what we said “yes” to. We must remain with our Lord daily in good times and bad, in sickness and in health, as His victim souls suffering all with Him. We must remain faithful to Christ in our covenant community by attending the cenacles and remaining in LC even when we don't feel like it, when we're tired, occupied with other projects, bored, etc. II – THE VISITATION Path #20, p.66. “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord.” My little one, these are the words from the mouth of My Mother as she enters the home of Elizabeth. Ponder these words with Me. My Mother lived her life in praise of the Father. She lived in the constant awareness of who the Father is. Her soul was in a constant state of awe. In the knowledge of the greatness and majesty of God, Mary also had perfect knowledge of herself; therefore, she states that she is the handmaid of the Lord. My daughter, I desire that you live more profoundly and perfectly in the knowledge of the grandeur, majesty and goodness of Abba, our Father. In this way, you will live more perfectly as My handmaid. The perfect and holy handmaid of the Lord, Mary Most Holy, is moved by the Holy Spirit to serve her cousin, Elizabeth. How is it that Mary knew the promptings of the Spirit and could respond with courage and obedience even when she could not understand fully the Will of God? She REMAINED in SILENCE, PRAYER and PRAISE. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” We must choose to REMAIN IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE of our lives – difficult job, difficult relationships, tribulations – PRAISING and THANKING GOD because we are men and women, like Mary, who have come to know personally the love of God, and therefore, we choose to live in perfect faith and abandonment to His Will, present in each circumstance of our lives. Remain in LONG SUFFERING (gift of the Holy Spirit= constancy in trials), in righteousness, trusting God. Long suffering (a fruit of the Holy Spirit –Gal.5,22-23) is perseverance, constancy under trials. Samson - Judges 13:2-5 on the wife of Manoah: “(she) was barren and had no children. And the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, "Behold, you are barren and have no children; but you shall conceive and bear a son.
