Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

For a 10% discount on Rabbi David Ashear's new book LIVING EMUNAH ON THE PARASHAH 2 click the link below https://www.artscroll.com/ Books/9781422645581.html We find that some people merit extraordinary heavenly help in their physical lives, while others receive extraordinary help in their spiritual lives. The true purpose of life, however, is not physical comfort or material success—it is spiritual growth . The physical blessings we receive are only given to help us achieve higher levels of spirituality. Our main focus in our tefillot should therefore be for heavenly help in our spiritual lives, and for the spiritual success of our children. No matter how hopeless a situation may appear, Hashem can lift a person from the lowest depths to the highest heights. Rivkah Imenu is the perfect example of this truth. She grew up in a home of spiritual darkness. Her father, Betuel, was a deceitful and corrupt man. Her brother, Lavan, was a greedy trickster. The city of Charan was filled with idolatry, dishonesty, and moral decay. The Midrash tells us that Rivkah's home was filled with the stench of idol worship. Her father was among the leaders of that idolatrous society, and her brother was his enthusiastic disciple. Rivkah was surrounded by tum'ah , but all she wanted was kedushah . How could she possibly lead a life of Torah and mitzvot in such a place? How would she ever find a husband who would lift her toward holiness? And then, one morning, while living the same ordinary life in the same spiritually harmful atmosphere, everything changed. In an instant, she was chosen to marry the son of Avraham Avinu , the Gadol HaDor . She went from the darkest home in Charan to the holiest home in the world. Her tefillot had brought her the greatest yeshuah imaginable. Rivkah became one of the mothers of Klal Yisrael . Hashem lifted her from spiritual darkness to eternal greatness. This lesson remains true for all of us. Hashem can take a person from any environment—no matter how far from holiness—and raise him to the greatest levels of kedushah . Nothing is beyond His power. A man related that his son had moved to another city, far from their family. All his other children lived nearby, and all were shomrei Torah u'mitzvot . This son's new city, however, had a much lower level of Torah observance. The father and mother were heartbroken. Their greatest joy in life was knowing that their children were growing spiritually and learning Torah every day, and now they feared this son would lose that connection. They prayed daily for their son's ruchaniyut . Time passed, and their son remained in that city for many years. One day, they attended a local yeshivah auction and noticed one of the prizes was a Judaica package that included the entire ArtScroll Shas in English. They dreamed of their son learning from those very Gemarot , so they placed a ticket in the raffle—and they won. They now had an entire Shas in boxes in their home. They used it as a reminder and motivation to continue praying for their son's spiritual growth. A few months later, their son called to tell them he was making a siyum . They were stunned. They had no idea he had been learning. Overjoyed, they told him about the Shas they had won and offered it to him as a gift. He was delighted and said he would love to have it. Not long after, their son and his wife found a new home—right next door to a kollel . He arranged to learn there daily and quickly became part of the community. The parents decided to bring the Shas to him personally. They packed the heavy volumes into four large boxes and went to the airport. Each box weighed over eighty pounds. The total excess baggage should have cost them hundreds of dollars. When they arrived at the counter, the agent smiled and said, "Today, we're giving you four extra suitcases free of charge." Without further explanation, he checked in all the boxes. They were able to bring the entire Shas free of charge to their son's new home, where it would be used daily for Torah study. Our tefillot for ourselves and for our children can move mountains. We often pray for livelihood or comfort—but the greatest blessings of all are in the spiritual realm. When we pray for ruchaniyut , Hashem appreciates it so much, because that is the true purpose of life: to grow closer to Him and to help our children do the same. Shabbat Shalom.

Episode Summary: Have you ever found yourself saying yes when you really wanted to say no? Or have you ever felt overwhelmed and exhausted because you were trying to meet everyone else’s expectations? If so, you are not alone. In recognition of National Stress Awareness Day, today, we’re going to explore how to move from overwhelmed to overjoyed by learning to say no without feeling guilty. We’ll dive into Scripture, explore research on overcommitment, and I’ll share five practical ways to set God-honoring boundaries. Quotables from the episode: Many of us, especially as women, have been taught that saying yes is the godly thing to do. We associate busyness with productivity, and productivity with worth. But the truth is, constantly saying yes can leave us drained, distracted, and distant from God’s best for us. For many years, I said “Yes” every time something was asked of me because I believed it was the godly response. Until God impressed upon my heart that he never told me to do that much, and had I sought him for wisdom, He would have readily guided my path! That was totally on me, but God was so gentle in getting my attention. Psychologists have long studied the effects of people-pleasing and overcommitment. Research from the American Psychological Association shows that chronic overcommitment leads to stress, anxiety, and even depression. Emotionally, people-pleasers often struggle with self-worth, believing their value is tied to what they do for others rather than who they are in Christ. Chronic Overcommitment and Overwhelm Chronic overcommitment and overwhelm can take a serious toll on physical health, leading to conditions such as: Adrenal Fatigue & Hormonal Imbalance – Constant stress can dysregulate cortisol levels, leading to exhaustion, brain fog, and difficulty managing emotions. Cardiovascular Issues – Chronic stress increases blood pressure, heart rate, and inflammation, raising the risk of heart disease, hypertension, and stroke. Weakened Immune System – Prolonged stress suppresses immune function, making the body more susceptible to infections and slower to heal. Gastrointestinal Problems – Overwhelm can contribute to acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcers, and digestive issues. Chronic Pain & Inflammation – Stress triggers inflammation, which can exacerbate conditions like fibromyalgia, arthritis, and migraines. Sleep Disorders – Overcommitment often leads to insomnia, poor sleep quality, and chronic fatigue. Weight Gain or Loss – Stress-related eating patterns can lead to unhealthy weight fluctuations, metabolic dysfunction, and insulin resistance. Muscle Tension & Headaches – Persistent stress can cause tight muscles, tension headaches, and even TMJ (jaw pain from clenching). Burnout & Mental Fog – Long-term overwhelm can impair cognitive function, reducing focus, memory, and decision-making ability. Autoimmune Disorders – Chronic stress has been linked to the development or worsening of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis. Managing stress through rest, boundaries, and self-care isn’t just about mental well-being; it’s essential for physical health. Jesus himself set boundaries. In Luke 5:16, we read, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” He didn’t heal every person or meet every need. He sought the Father’s will first. If Jesus set boundaries, then we should, too. Addressing the spiritual and scientific aspects of restoration To counteract the physical effects of chronic overcommitment and overwhelm, we must address both the spiritual and scientific aspects of restoration. Here’s how: Prioritizing Rest & Sabbath (Biblical & Scientific) Biblical Insight: God modeled rest in Genesis 2:2-3, and Jesus regularly withdrew to quiet places (Mark 6:31). Sabbath isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a command for our well-being (Exodus 20:8-10). Science: Rest lowers cortisol, improves immune function, and enhances brain health. Sleep is crucial for memory consolidation and physical repair. Application: Schedule intentional rest. Guard your Sabbath. Ensure 7-9 hours of sleep. Setting Boundaries to Prevent Overcommitment Biblical Insight: Even Jesus set boundaries—He didn’t heal everyone at once and took time alone with the Father (Luke 5:16). Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to guard our hearts, which includes protecting our time and energy. Science: Chronic stress leads to burnout, weakened immunity, and heart disease. Learning to say “no” prevents emotional and physical depletion. Application: Use discernment in commitments. Before saying “yes,” ask: Does this align with God’s will? Is this sustainable? Engaging in Mind-Body Renewal Biblical Insight: Romans 12:2 encourages us to renew our minds. Philippians 4:8 tells us to focus on what is pure and lovely. Science: Practices like deep breathing, exercise, and gratitude shift the brain out of stress mode, improving mental clarity and resilience. Application: Try breath prayers (e.g., inhale “Be still,” exhale “and know that I am God”; inhale “I trust you, God,” exhale “in all things.”). Move daily to reduce inflammation and boost mood. Nourishing the Body & Mind Biblical Insight: Daniel chose healthy foods and was stronger than those indulging in excess (Daniel 1:12-15). Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Science: Whole foods reduce inflammation, regulate blood sugar, and protect against stress-related illnesses. Application: Eat nutrient-dense foods, stay hydrated, and avoid excess caffeine or sugar that heightens stress responses. Seeking Community & Support Biblical Insight: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 teaches that two are better than one. We weren’t designed to carry burdens alone (Galatians 6:2). Science: Social connection lowers stress hormones, strengthens immunity, and increases resilience. Application: Surround yourself with godly counsel. Delegate. Accept help. Community is part of God’s design for our well-being. Releasing Control & Trusting God Biblical Insight: Jesus said, “Come to me, all who are weary… and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Trusting God’s sovereignty brings peace (Isaiah 26:3). Science: Chronic stress stems from feeling out of control. Releasing worries to God reduces anxiety, lowers blood pressure, and improves mental health. Application: Regularly surrender your burdens to God. Journal prayers. Meditate on Scriptures about His faithfulness. By aligning our lives with God’s rhythms and applying scientific wisdom, we can reduce overwhelm and prevent burnout and experience lasting peace. Practical Tips for How to Set Healthy, God-Honoring Boundaries Recognize that “No” is a Complete Sentence You don’t need to over-explain or justify your decision. Jesus simply said “yes” or “no” (Matthew 5:37). When we recognize that saying no is a way to honor God’s best for us, we can do so with confidence. Pray Before You Commit Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. ”Before saying yes to anything, take a moment to pray and ask, Is this God’s best for me in this season? Set Priorities Based on God’s Calling Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are created for good works that God prepared in advance for us. This means that we are not called to do everything—only what He has specifically prepared for us. Identify what God is calling you to do in this season and let that guide your commitments. Understand That Saying No Opens the Door for God’s Yes When we fill our schedules with obligations, we leave no room for the divine appointments God has for us. Saying no creates margin for God’s greater yes. Isaiah 30:21 says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” Practice Saying No with Grace and Love You can say no in a way that honors both God and the other person. Here are a few ways: “Thank you for thinking of me, but I can’t commit to that right now.” “I appreciate the opportunity, but I need to focus on what God has called me to in this season.” “I’d love to help another time, but my plate is full right now.” Encouraging Scripture to Empower You: Learning to say no without feeling guilty Galatians 1:10 – “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Matthew 11:28-30 – Jesus calls us to rest in Him, not to take on every burden. Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.” Sometimes, God’s best for us is rest. Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” We must discern what is right for this season. Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Our commitments should be done with joy and purpose, not guilt. Scripture References: Luke 5:16 “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus calls us to rest in Him, not to take on every burden. Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.” Sometimes, God’s best for us is rest. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” We must discern what is right for this season. Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Our commitments should be done with joy and purpose, not guilt. Saying no is not a rejection of others—it is a way of saying yes to what God has planned for you. You don’t have to live overwhelmed and exhausted. You can move from overcommitted to overjoyed by setting God-honoring boundaries. I encourage you this week to pray over your commitments. Ask God to show you where you need to say no so you can say yes to His best. If today’s episode resonated with you, share it with a friend who needs encouragement in this area. Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

A woman once related that her daughter had been married for a few years without being zoche to have a baby. It was a stuggle that she herself could not fully relate to, yet she suffered deeply through it together with her daughter. It was painful to watch other family members and friends have babies so easily, one after another, while her daughter remained empty-handed. After several visits to their regular doctor, they turned to a specialist who identified the issue and devised a treatment plan. The process, however, included invasive and painful testing that needed to be performed at precise times of the month. Because of the upcoming holidays, they were forced to postpone the treatments, which was disheartening. She tried to remain positive, encouraging her daughter to stay optimistic and reminding her to trust in Hashem. Of course, they prayed together constantly for the best outcome at the best time. Then, out of nowhere, her daughter required emergency surgery related to the same issue. The surgery delayed things even further. She was devastated. She didn't want to be sitting in a hospital beside her daughter recovering from surgery—she wanted to be there with her daughter in the delivery room, holding her newborn baby. The frustration was mounting, and her emunah was wavering. Her daughter came home to recuperate, but seeing her in pain only deepened her struggle. Anticipating long months of testing and treatment ahead, she didn't know how she could continue. In her desperation, she sought the advice of a respected rebbetzin. She poured out her heart, explaining how hard it was to keep her faith strong and to support her grown daughter through such a difficult challenge. The rebbetzin listened, then offered advice that seemed almost outrageous. She said firmly, "You must thank Hashem for the surgery." That was all she said—no elaboration, no explanation. The woman was stunned. Thank Hashem for surgery? For delays? For pain? She thought to herself: I want to thank Hashem for blessings, not for setbacks and suffering. Still, she decided to follow the advice. Every day, as she prayed, she began to thank Hashem—not only for the good, but for the surgery, the delays, and the process itself. At first it felt strange, even forced. But gradually it became easier. It reminded her of the lesson her children had once learned—that true emunah means accepting Hashem's will as one's own, even when it doesn't align with our plans. Slowly, her heart shifted. She began to sincerely and wholeheartedly accept Hashem's will, thanking Him again and again. And then, the miracle came. Just one month later—without a single test, without a single medication—her daughter was expecting. They were stunned. Overjoyed. Beyond words. Not only had Hashem granted them the child they so longed for, but He had spared them the agonizing process of IVF. A few months later, she attended a shiur and heard a line from Pirkei Avot that resonated with her to the core: "When you accept Hashem's will, He will make your will His will." In that moment, she realized the truth of what had happened. Once she truly thanked Hashem and embraced His will, Hashem embraced hers. Today, Baruch Hashem, they have their miracle baby. Every single day they treasure her presence and appreciate the blessing she brings to their family. The lesson was clear and life-changing: thanking Hashem even for the difficulties, and accepting His will even when life doesn't go as we hoped, is among the most powerful forms of avodah. The more heartfelt and sincere the thank-yous are, the more transformative they become. At the very moment a person experiences difficulty, that challenge is truly the best possible thing for them. However, that does not mean that going forward it won't be best to get what he is hoping for. Thanking Hashem for whatever happens has the power to turn hardships into salvations and to open the gates for wondrous outcomes.

Some dreams fade the moment we open our eyes. Others burn themselves so deeply into memory that decades later, they still feel fresh—real, undeniable. This is one of those dreams. At only five years old, she lost her beloved grandmother Martha, the woman who had brought her and her father from the Dominican Republic to New York, who filled her early childhood with birthday parties, sleepovers, and love. Too young to fully understand death, she struggled to grasp why her grandmother never came by to visit anymore. Then one night, she had a dream—or what she now believes was something much more. In it, she saw her grandmother at a bus stop. Overjoyed, she ran to her, hugged her, and begged her to stay. But when the bus arrived, her grandmother told her the words she has never forgotten: “You can't come with me. It's not your time.” As the bus doors closed, she woke up sobbing—crying not just from a dream, but from an encounter that felt like a visitation. Now, decades later, she wonders: was that goodbye from beyond, or proof that loved ones never truly leave us? #VisitationDream #Afterlife #RealGhostStories #ParanormalExperience #GrandmaFromBeyond #SpiritualVisitation #ChildhoodHaunting #LifeAfterDeath #GhostStoriesOnline #ParanormalEncounters Love real ghost stories? He also arrests Peter, planning to execute him after Passover. The church prays fervently to God for Peter's deliverance. An angel miraculously frees him from prison, guiding him past the guards. Initially thinking this is a vision, Peter soon realizes he is free and heads to a home where the disciples are gathered in prayer. Overjoyed yet astonished, they welcome him in. Furious over Peter's escape and unable to recapture him, Herod executes the guards. Later, Herod permits the people of the region to call him a god, and immediately an angel of the Lord strikes him dead! Yet “the word of the Lord continues to grow and to be multiplied.” This chapter begins and ends with King Herod. He strikes a blow against the church by killing James but is ultimately killed by God and rendered irrelevant. Explaining why God allowed James's death is difficult. However, it is humbling and important to recognize that God permitted this to fulfill His greater purpose of spreading the gospel. Furthermore, God placed limits on what Herod could do, freeing Peter before he could be killed. We must always trust that God is in control, even when evil men plan terrible acts. In the end, God spared Peter to continue His work and eliminated Herod. If God spares us today, we must use our lives to overcome evil with good and uplift God's people.  All-powerful God, teach us to trust in Your power over all things and all people. Help us understand that You allow circumstances we do not comprehend because Your ways are higher than ours. Moreover, open our hearts to recognize the significant provisions, blessings, and deliverance You often provide. We pray for humble, grateful hearts that use the gift of life to serve You. Encourage us to see that we are alive for the central purpose of spreading the message of Jesus and uplifting believers on their journey of faith. Please deliver us from evil people if it aligns with Your will.   Thought Questions: -       What helps you trust in God when bad things happen to good people? What are things you need to remember in such times? -       Peter immediately gathered with believers after his deliverance. Is it your natural inclination to do the same when God blesses you? -       Evil will not prevail, as seen in Herod's death. How does knowing that the war is won in Christ help you cope with evil in this world?

Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

There is nothing a person can accomplish without Hashem's help—and with Hashem's help, anything is possible. Even the smallest tasks require siyata dishmaya . A man shared an experience at an airport with his family. They were waiting for their last piece of luggage to appear on the carousel. His daughter asked if she could be the one to retrieve it, and he agreed. As the suitcase came around, she prepared to grab it—but in that moment, a single strand of her hair got caught on another piece of their luggage. This slight delay caused her to miss the suitcase, and due to the crowd, they couldn't retrieve it until it came around again. The man took a powerful lesson from that experience. His daughter had been ready, nothing seemingly stood in her way—yet, clearly, it was Hashem's will for them to wait a few more minutes. Hashem orchestrated it through something as small as a hair. We often have no idea how much He is helping us, even in delays or setbacks. Rabbi David Ammon, Rosh Yeshiva of Noam HaTorah in Israel, recounted a remarkable story. While in Los Angeles on Yom Tov, he was walking to deliver a shiur when he realized a few blocks from his home that he had worn the wrong suit jacket. He turned back to change. Upon his return, a man approached him and asked how he had known to turn around at that moment. Confused, the rabbi asked what he meant. The man explained that moments after the rabbi had turned back, a massive piece of a tree—thirty feet tall—crashed down on the exact path he had been walking. Because of the noise of traffic, the rabbi hadn't even heard it. He was completely unaware that Hashem had just saved his life by prompting him to wear the wrong jacket. On another occasion, Rabbi Ammon shared a story from a yeshiva trip to Europe. While visiting holy sites, someone recommended a sacred shul where three great tzaddikim had once served as rabbis. Entry was by appointment only, which they didn't have, but since they were nearby, they decided to stop by. Miraculously, someone with a key happened to be there at that exact moment to open the doors. Minutes later, a small group arrived—the ones who actually had the appointment. They had come hoping to hold a kumzitz , singing praises to Hashem in the holy site. Seeing the 30 yeshiva boys, they invited them to join, and together they shared what became the most uplifting experience of their trip. Appointments to that shul are rare, often just one or two per day. Hashem had clearly orchestrated the perfect timing for both groups to be there. Another man shared a story involving his son's bar mitzvah. He desperately needed a pair of tefillin but couldn't afford them. He contacted an organization that helps low-income families acquire tefillin , and they added his son to the waiting list. Days later, the organization called with news: a man named Shimon wanted to donate a pair and was given the boy's information. When they spoke to Shimon, he explained how it all unfolded. He had met a man in Williamsburg with a rare talent: the ability to instantly convert any secular date to its corresponding Hebrew date, even decades into the past or future. Shimon gave his secular birthday, and the man replied: "28th of Av." Shimon disagreed, saying it was the 29th. The man insisted. Upon investigation, Shimon discovered that his father had mistakenly told him the wrong date. His birthday occurred during a Yom Kippur Katan tefillah, typically held on the 29th of Av—the day before Rosh Chodesh . But that year, Rosh Chodesh fell on Shabbat, so the tefillah had been pushed up to Thursday, the 28th. Following his family's tradition, Shimon had not begun wearing tefillin until his exact bar mitzvah date—meaning he had missed his first day due to the error. This realization devastated him. He prayed for guidance and atonement. Weeks later, while attending a class, he heard the rabbi mention that if someone accidentally misses a day of tefillin , one way to atone is by donating a pair to someone in need. Overjoyed by the clarity and opportunity, Shimon contacted the organization immediately—and was connected with the bar mitzvah boy in need. Hashem guided each detail of this story—from revealing the mistaken date, to teaching Shimon how to atone, to connecting him with someone whose need matched perfectly with his desire to give. These stories remind us that Hashem is present in every moment and every detail of our lives. From a missed suitcase to a falling tree, from a sacred visit to a humble act of giving—He orchestrates everything with purpose. The more we ask Hashem for help, the more we see His hand in our lives.

Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

Rabbi Chananiah ben Akashia teaches us that Hashem desires to bestow abundant merit upon the Jewish people. For this reason, He gave us many mitzvot—each one an opportunity to earn immense spiritual reward. While the ultimate reward for mitzvot is reserved for the World to Come, Chazal teach that mitzvot also bring tremendous benefits in this world. Our sages explain that the Jewish people were not originally deserving of redemption from Egypt. It was only through the merit of two mitzvot that they were finally freed. The sea itself split in the merit of Yosef HaTzaddik, whose steadfast resistance to Eshet Potiphar became a merit for all of Klal Yisrael. The Midrash at the beginning of Parashat Ki Tavo tells us that Hashem gave the mitzvah of bikkurim (bringing the first fruits) to the Jewish people as a merit to help them enter the Land of Israel. The Torah also teaches that honoring one's parents brings the reward of long life. And in the merit of emunah , Chazal say, we will be redeemed from our current exile. There are countless examples of how mitzvot serve as a source of zechuyot . Every test and opportunity Hashem gives us is a chance to accumulate spiritual wealth that benefits not only us but our children and grandchildren for generations. We may not always see the full reward of a mitzvah, but we can be certain that every one of them helps us in unimaginable ways. A powerful modern example was shared by A.J. Gindi, the head of Renewal—an organization that helps kidney patients find life-saving matches. A woman with an extremely high PRA level came to the organization, desperately in need of a kidney. Due to her rare profile, the chance of finding a match was extraordinarily slim. Even Renewal's vast international database turned up nothing. They held a special donor event in the hopes of a miracle—and miraculously, a match was found. Before the transplant, the woman was asked what merit she believed had brought about such an unlikely success. She replied that she personally wasn't aware of any special merit, but she shared a story from her grandmother's experience during the Holocaust. While imprisoned in a concentration camp, her grandmother was shown rare kindness by an SS officer, who gave her a pass allowing her to move freely without being questioned. She thanked him and pleaded for passes for her parents as well, which he granted. Overjoyed to help her family, she returned with the passes—but was then approached by someone who begged her to obtain one more. At first, she refused, fearing that pushing further might result in the officer rescinding everything. But then the person explained: the pass wasn't for himself—it was for the Bobover Rebbe , who was in their barracks. "We must save his life," he said. The woman, a professional artist, decided to try to replicate an identical pass. She spent the entire night replicating it with precision. The pass was delivered to the Rebbe, and baruch Hashem , it saved his life. The kidney recipient concluded: "Perhaps in the merit of my grandmother saving a life, Hashem is now saving mine." After the successful transplant, the donor was asked what merit she thought enabled her to be the match. She replied, "I'm not sure, but I come from a family of rabbis. In fact, my grandfather was the Bobover Rebbe." Everyone present was stunned. Eighty years after a brave woman risked her life to save the Rebbe, Hashem repaid the kindness in kind—his granddaughter was now saving her granddaughter's life. This is just one example of how a single mitzvah can echo across generations. Every mitzvah carries infinite merit, benefiting us both in this world and the next. It is our responsibility and privilege to embrace each opportunity with joy, knowing that every act of goodness creates a ripple of blessing beyond what we can ever imagine.

Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

During this month of Adar , we are meant to increase our happiness—a joy that stems from true emunah in Hashem. By studying the miracles of Purim and Pesach , we gain chizuk and learn to appreciate how fortunate we are to have Hashem guiding us at all times. When salvation came in both instances, it arrived כהרף עין —in the blink of an eye. ונהפוך הוא —in Purim the Jewish people went from mourning to celebration on the very same day. Yetzias Mitzrayim was done b'chipazon —they were rushed out of Mitzrayim , triumphantly marching to freedom. Both salvations were planned years in advance. In Purim , Hashem was מקדים רפואה למכה —He prepared the salvation even before the decree was issued. And in Mitzrayim , the night of Yetzias Mitzrayim is called ליל שמורים —a night Hashem had planned and anticipated for years. Whatever challenge a person finds himself in, he must recognize that salvation is already there—he is simply asking Hashem to reveal it to him. A woman shared that this past September, her husband started losing his hair due to alopecia. At first, they had no idea what was happening as patches of hair were randomly falling out. After seeing multiple doctors and doing extensive blood work, they were told that he had a severe case of alopecia—and there was little they could do to stop it. Her husband was a young man with a full head of hair—his identity, in a way. The diagnosis was devastating, and they struggled to cope. Soon after, he developed an inflammation, and the hair loss became even more extreme. There was one medicine that might have worked, but it would have compromised his immune system and made him highly susceptible to illnesses. After consulting with rabbanim, they decided it was too dangerous to take. The doctors prescribed a cream for his face, which they doubted would work, but they suggested he try growing a beard with it. "Please don't get your hopes up," they cautioned. From that day on, he and his wife grew in many areas of avodat Hashem , strengthening their commitment to Torah and mitzvot . Baruch Hashem , a few months later, he grew a full beard. Overjoyed, his wife told their rebbetzin about the miracle and asked what she could do to express her gratitude to Hashem. She suggested doing the mitzva of covering her hair. After much internal debate, she made the decision to do it. When they returned to the doctor, he was stunned. "Never in my career have I seen such improvement and recovery without any real medication," he told them. He then put her husband on a very light medication and said he expected a full regrowth within three to six months, b'ezrat Hashem . They went from hearing "there's no chance" to "we have never seen such a recovery." That is Yeshuat Hashem k'heref ayin . A rabbi shared another story: His daughter and son-in-law recently bought a home, using every last dollar they had to purchase it. It was a bargain they couldn't pass up, but it left them struggling with daily expenses. They knew they would be able to get back on their feet, but it would take at least a month until their next paychecks arrived. That Friday, their car broke down. They had no idea how they would afford the repairs. When the mechanic called, he said the car was ready and everything was fine—the total cost was just $100. As she opened the car door, she noticed an envelope on the passenger seat with the words Chag Sameach—Love, Dad written on it. She opened it and found $500 in cash. Confused, she called her father to ask about it. He replied, "There's no chag now—I didn't leave that envelope there." Then he recalled that he had given her an envelope last Pesach . She must have misplaced it in the car, where it had ended up in the glove compartment. The mechanic, while fixing the car, had emptied the glove compartment and unknowingly placed the envelope where she would find it. Hashem had set aside that money for her a year before—waiting for the moment she would need it most. When the time was right, Hashem caused the car to break down so the money would be revealed. Hashem has what we need waiting for us. We just need to pray to Him to expose it.

[WEEKEND RECAP 03-02-25] As usual, there is way too much news to report on the adventures of President Trump. The man is literally everywhere. There is nothing too small for him to chime in on, and I LOVE IT. I love it because I know the Left hate it. They are use to their “leaders” only dealing with so-called BIG issues, when in fact it is the little things that are big. The little things are what get inside the head of the electorate. For example, President Trump excoriated Joy Reid and MSNBC. Some people think that his commenting on things like that are childish. But when you consider the hatchet job the media has done on him and Americans, funded by USAID, you understand the broader implications. That's just one example. And now President Trump has in effect cloned himself. He's assigned like-minded people in each area to dig even deeper into their respective agencies and they are causing a massive sucking sound in the swamp, as they draining accelerates. Here is audio of a New Yorker asked about President Trump. [X] SB – Nyer on President Trump. Overjoyed. Kinda glad they stole the last one. How profound Each group. Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

The Gemara in Masechet Berachot teaches that whoever recites Tehilla L'David (Ashreh) three times a day, praising Hashem, is a ben Olam Haba . Yet the same Gemara states that one who recites Hallel daily is considered a blasphemer. We know Hallel is one of the greatest praises, so how can this be understood? The Meshech Chochmah in Parashat Bechukotai explains that Hallel is generally reserved for thanking Hashem for open miracles performed for our nation, such as the makkot or Kriyat Yam Suf . Reciting Hallel daily, even without such miracles, suggests that the person only values Hashem's interventions that defy nature, overlooking the countless hidden miracles Hashem performs every day. By contrast, Tehilla L'David praises Hashem for His everyday hashgacha peratit over each individual and every creature. As the pasuk says, ואתה נותן להם את אכלם בעיתו —"Hashem gives everyone its needs at the time that it needs." We must recognize how Hashem takes care of us every moment of every day. Each person gets what he needs in a unique way. When we look back and see how Hashem gave a person just what he needed when he needed it, in a hidden yet exposed way, it gives us extra chizuk to recognize that Hashem is always behind the scenes taking care of us. A woman shared a story about how she had hired a rabbi to learn with her 11th-grade son every night. When a recent payment to the rabbi was overdue, he sent a friendly text reminder. The woman planned to write a check the next day but completely forgot. That night, as she boarded a plane, she remembered. She asked the rabbi for his Zelle information and told her husband, Reuven, to send him $1,600 via Zelle. A few days later, the rabbi mentioned he hadn't received the payment. Surprised, the woman sent him a screenshot of the confirmation. Upon closer inspection, the rabbi noticed that Reuven had mistakenly entered the wrong middle initial in the email address. Reuven immediately sent the payment to the rabbi again, and then emailed the person who had accidentally received the $1,600. The next morning, Reuven received a reply that began, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to perform the mitzva of hashavat aveda and return the lost money" The recipient explained that when the money arrived, he didn't recognize the sender or the purpose of the transfer. He even contacted a friend with the same last name as the sender. The friend said he did know someone with that name, but didn't think he would be sending him this money, so he didn't bother to call him. In fact, that person actually was Reuven who did send the money. The man also mentioned that it was amazing hashgacha peratit that he received this exact amount at that exact time. He was making a bar mitzvah for his son but lacked the $1,600 balance needed to pay for the tefillin he was about to pick up. His wife had asked him what they would do, and he replied, "Hashem sends the money when it's needed." Just half an hour before he was to pick up the tefillin , the $1,600 came through. The man concluded his email by asking for a few extra days to repay the money, as he had already used it. Reuven, moved by the story, responded that it would be his greatest zechut to participate in the mitzva of buying tefillin . He told the man he did not need to repay the money at all. Overjoyed, the man thanked Reuven. The next day, Reuven shared the story with a friend, who also wanted to help. Reuven asked the man how much more money he needed for the bar mitzva , and the man replied, "$900." The friend immediately sent him the remaining amount. Hashem made this woman forget to pay the Rabbi twice by check and then caused her husband to put the wrong letter in the email amongst dozens of other things that had to take place for this man to get that money at that time. Hashem helps everyone. We should look for His hand in our everyday lives and thank and praise Him at least three times a day.

Lasting joy is found with Jesus. He was born on that special day and placed in a manger and then he bore our sin and shame on the cross. There are 3 truths out of Isaiah 11 & 12 we can trust to anchor our joy. We'll be hearing what those are and how we can experience this joy each and every day.

Read Online“And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.”  Luke 21:28This passage above concludes a series of teachings by Jesus on the suffering and persecution that will come in this world. But His teachings conclude with this line above, which offers great hope in anticipation of Jesus' return in glory. This passage speaks of the prophetic vision of Daniel (Daniel 7:13–14) that terrified Daniel when he saw it. He witnessed the great persecution to come, as well as the destruction of all evil that will accompany the return of the Son of Man.When you think about both the final coming of Christ as well as your own future death, what comes to mind? If you were informed by an angel that tomorrow would be that day, the day that the Son of Man would return in all His splendor and glory to bring about an end to this world and to issue forth His judgment upon it, how would you react? Would you be terrified? Overjoyed? Hopeful? Confused? Perhaps a little of each of these reactions would be present. Of this time, Jesus said that “nations would be in dismay” and that “People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming into the world.” So what is your reaction to this promised day of our Lord? Those who “die of fright” are clearly those who will experience this day completely unprepared. Meeting the Son of Man, the Son of God, the Savior of the World and the Eternal Judge when you are completely unprepared should be frightful. Imagine, for example, that you were hosting a large dinner party and you got your days mixed up. The day arrived and you weren't expecting anyone until the following week, but the guests started to arrive in great numbers. Imagine your anxiety and embarrassment. Such an experience would be nothing compared to being unprepared for the judgment of Christ when we stand before Him at the time of our death and then at the Final Judgment at the end of the world. The good news is that on that day, for those who are truly prepared through a life of faith and selfless service of God's will, they are told to “stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.” If you do all you can to prepare for that day, then it will be a day in which you anticipate with the utmost hope and excitement. You will indeed be able to stand erect, turn your eyes to the coming Judge of All, and receive the eternal reward that He so deeply desires to bestow. But this will be your experience only if you are truly ready for that day through a life lived in complete imitation of Christ. Reflect, today, upon that final day. Imagine every person ever created standing before the Judgment Seat of Christ. Every sin and every virtue will be made manifest on that day. The minds and hearts of all will be seen in the light as they are revealed to all by God. And those who have lived lives of fidelity will rejoice as they see God's justice and His mercy unite as His judgments are issued forth. If this day is one that frightens you, consider the reasons why. If you do not look forward to this definitive moment in time, then perhaps you need to ponder more deeply those things you need to do so as to be fully prepared. Prepare yourself today. Do not wait. Our Lord could return at any time. Do not be caught off guard. My eternal Judge, You promise to return to earth at a definitive moment in time to bring about the fullness of justice. May I always be prepared for that day through a life lived in union with You and Your holy will. I pray for that day to come quickly, dear Lord, and that all Your children will be ready to meet You when You come. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Today, I'm talking to Jonathan Kanter, the assistant attorney general for antitrust at the United States Department of Justice. This is Jonathan's second time on the show, and it's a bit of an emergency podcast situation. On Monday, a federal court issued a monumental decision in the DOJ's case against Google, holding that Google Search and the text ads in search are monopolies.  The court hasn't decided on the penalties for all this yet — that process is scheduled to start next month. But it's the biggest antitrust win against a tech company since the Microsoft case from two decades ago. I wanted to know what Jonathan thought of the ruling, what it means for the law, and most importantly, what remedies he's going to seek to try and restore competition in search.  Links:  Judge rules that Google ‘is a monopolist' in US antitrust case | The Verge All the spiciest parts of the Google antitrust ruling | The Verge Now that Google is a monopolist, what's next? | The Verge DOJ's Kanter says the antitrust fight against Big Tech is just beginning | Decoder The DOJ Antitrust Division isn't afraid to go to court | The Verge The US government is gearing up for an AI antitrust fight | The Verge Transcript: https://www.theverge.com/e/23979725 Credits: Decoder is a production of The Verge and is part of the Vox Media Podcast Network.
