As we continue our intensive study of the New Testament book of Colossians, this week we come to a passage where Paul paints a vivid picture of the positive values we're called to embrace as followers of Jesus. Paul's list includes some very familiar values -- the kind you'd expect. But it also identifies three values that are seldom discussed, yet critically important. This Sunday we'll explore those three critical values.

Patience isn't just waiting — it's longsuffering in trials and forbearance with others' flaws. In this episode on the Fruit of the Spirit, we explore God's unshakable patience toward His people, the endurance of Jesus on the cross, and how the Spirit grows that same steadfast love in us as we trust His plans and bear with one another.

God's grace allows us the opportunity to hear the gospel and believe the gospel. God's grace gives us time to accept Jesus and live for him, even while people reject Jesus, doing their own thing, every second they live they are given grace because they have breath in their lungs and have the capability to accept Jesus and the sacrifice he made on the cross for our sins. But someday, that grace is going to turn into vengeance when Jesus returns. All of those who rejected Jesus will separated from God for eternity, never having another opportunity to repent of their sins and be washed in the blood of Jesus. Don't let God's grace run out on you. Accept Jesus today so you will be with the redeemed in heaven for eternity!

Romans 2:2-3 — There is no way to escape the judgement of God. Sometimes people laugh and joke about sin, but judgement is coming and so Christians must warn others about the condition of their souls. Paul warns both the Jews and the Gentiles that there is no excuse and all are under the impending judgement of God. In the sermon “The Longsuffering of God,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones explained how in Romans 2:2–3 Paul preached directly to the Jews to warn them of how sin was blinding their view. Not only does sin blind, it gives a false sense of security and causes the sinner to take God's goodness for granted. The Romans gave many arguments for why God's wrath was not coming but Paul refutes each one. One of the biggest arguments against God's judgement is that God is good. Dr. Lloyd-Jones tells that God is indeed good in the fact that He does not immediately strike the world dead for sin, but He must condemn sin because He is also just. In this sermon on longsuffering, Dr Lloyd-Jones explains that God is longsuffering and exhibiting great forbearance in terms of human sin. He is slow to anger and is not willing for anyone to perish. This is the exact reason why God sent His Son into the world to save those from this impending wrath. He alone is the atonement for sin and none should ignore His warning.
