In this conversation, Ben Archer, an Adjunct Research Fellow at Avondale University, shares about his recently published research on faith engagement in schools. In utilizing a scoping review methodology, Archer presents empirical literature related to faith formation activities with children. Activities covered included prayer, worship, chapel, evangelization, retreats and bible studies. His findings highlight that school-based programs do not appear to have a specific influence on student faith development. Rather it is teacher-student relationships that are the most significant influences in enhancing a student's faith. Worship leader in an evangelical church, cousin of Brian Welch (Korn), struggler of bipolar disorder, and author, Scott W. Box, joins the show to discuss mental illness, grace and Heroic Disgrace, his recent book release in which he tells his story and unpacks the gospel concept of "winning by losing." We also discuss how God can make healthy what He chooses not to heal, and how Scott's struggles with mental illness compelled him to seek Jesus deeper. Isn't that a good thing?Joey also reflects on his madness of reverting back to OCD spiritual rituals back in his mental health crisis in 2019 and how leaning on others' faith is necessary when personal faith has run dry. Can your brain ever be too unhealthy to process God in a positive light? Joey has experienced times when thoughts of God were a detriment. Two pastors reflect on their journeys through mental health crises and having personal experience, describe their experiences with being suicidal and how selfishness wasn't part of the equation. Ben Archer, Patron of the show (which means he's in the Bear W/ Community), joins Joey to talk deconstruction and reflect on BadChristian. And up top, a couple of my black friends reflect a bit on how Will Smith's actions was a poor representation of African-Americans. Scott W. www.GoodMorningGwinnett.com Man yesterday was a busy one for me and for so many others, because there were election runoffs. There were some major upsets here in Gwinnett County. Now I understand why candidates say they hate runoffs. Nicole Love Hendrickson is running for the Gwinnett County Chairwoman position. If she wins she will be the first Black person to ever hold that position. Keybo Taylor Defeated Curtis Clemons for the Sheriff seat. Jasper Watkins will be running against Ben Archer for Gwinnett Commissioner for District 3. Nikki Merritt will be running against Sen. PK Martin for the Senate District9 seat. Deborah Fluker defeated Judge Kathryn Schrader for the Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge seat. Last but not least Tiffany Porter will run against Richard Steel in November for the Tax Commissioner seat. Other big news was that presidential candidate Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris as his running mate. Many people were so happy, and some were brought to tears. Some on the other hand felt like that was a bad decision. I will be following the election very close to bring you updates.#GwinnettCountyLive Daily News, #Podcast, #Local News
www.GoodMorningGwinnett.com The state’s primary runoff election will be held Tuesday with voters deciding nominees in races for commission seats, tax commissioner, a state Senate seat and sheriff. They will also decide the winner of a Superior Court race where incumbent Superior Court Judge Kathryn Schrader is being challenged by Magistrate Court Judge Deborah Fluker in the runoff.Democrats will decide the runoff for commission chairwoman where Nicole Love Hendrickson is facing Lee Thompson. Thompson has suspended his campaign, however, and is encouraging voters to cast their ballots for Hendrickson instead. The winner faces Republican nominee David Post in November for the open seat.In Commission District 3, Republicans and Democrats each have a runoff contest to decide. In the Republican primary, Ben Archer is facing Matt DeReimer. Meanwhile, Derrick Wilson and Jasper Watkins are facing off in the Democratic primary.www.GwinnettDailyPost.com#GwinnettLocalPodcast, #GwinnettLocalNews, #DailyHoroscopes

Ben Archer is not happy! His mother, Sandy, has taken things to the next level with her new boyfriend, Jack, by allowing him to move in! Driven by pure anger and a fear of abandonment, Ben will try anything and everything to pop the "love bubble" which surrounds his mom and Jack. However, with the help of the YMCA Indian Guides and a group of mobsters, Ben and Jack become much closer. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bmoviebreakdown/support
