Sie ist Investigativjournalistin bei der Süddeutsche Zeitung und hat sich intensiv mit dem internationalen Netzwerk rund um Jeffrey Epstein beschäftigt – mit einem besonderen Fokus darauf, wie europäische Modelagenturen und Scouts in dieses System eingebunden waren.Die beiden haben schon einmal über den Fall Jeffrey Epstein gesprochen – und kommen jetzt wieder zusammen, weil das Gefühl bleibt: Irgendwie ist es ruhiger geworden um eines der größten Missbrauchsnetzwerke der letzten Jahrzehnte! Im Gespräch rekonstruieren die beiden, wie dieses Netzwerk funktioniert haben soll: über Modelscouts, Agenturen und scheinbar seriöse Kontakte wurden junge Frauen in Epsteins Umfeld gebracht. Was nach Karrierechance aussah, war für viele Betroffene der Einstieg in ein System aus Abhängigkeit, Kontrolle und Gewalt. Felicitas Kock beschreibt, wie Vertrauen gezielt aufgebaut wurde – und wie sich daraus ein Kreislauf entwickelte, in dem Grenzen Schritt für Schritt verschoben wurden, bis hin zu schwerem Machtmissbrauch und sexualisierter Gewalt. Gleichzeitig geht es um die größere Frage dahinter: Wie konnte so ein System über Jahre funktionieren – mitten in der Glamourwelt aus Mode, Reichtum und Jetset? Und warum stoßen solche Recherchen zwar kurz Empörung aus, verlieren dann aber schnell wieder an Aufmerksamkeit? Die Folge blickt deshalb nicht nur zurück auf Epstein, sondern auch auf die Strukturen, die sein Netzwerk möglich gemacht haben – und die Frage, ob sie wirklich verschwunden sind.
