Three years ago Bryan Jordan suffered a 'widow maker' heart attack at work. Three Near Death Experiences followed. In his first NDE, he experienced beautiful stars leaving trails of other stars like a comet's tail. He passed through a cave with no floor and the universe under him. He then met a transparent person who became his guide. The physical pain was overcome by the intense peace he felt. He describes the love he felt as a giant, powerful waterfall of love, completely overpowering him. Two more NDE's followed shortly after and included even more detail about flowers, animals, and the beauty of the Earth. "Heaven is easy, it's all about love!" Whether it's lifting a pair of MLS Cup trophies or playing alongside and against the likes of David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Cristiano Ronaldo, Bryan Jordan had quite a career in pro soccer. But that's only part of his story. The LA Galaxy fan favorite has transitioned into careers both adjacent to and beyond soccer, working closely with the Galaxy as well as getting into acting and modeling. The transition that followed his playing career wasn't easy, but Jordan has worked to carve a solid niche for himself while also remaining close to the game. He joins the Washed-Up Crew to discuss LA Galaxy's playoff push and the up-and-down nature of the season so far (00:02:32), his role with the Galaxy and staying in contact with the club after his playing days (00:10:50), transitioning into a new career post-soccer and getting into acting (00:15:38), playing recreationally now, and trying to turn off that competitive edge (00:20:42), getting into scuffles during his playing days and MLS war stories (00:28:24), his "Welcome to MLS" moment, (00:42:18), and the nightlife during his playing days and rookie hazing (00:49:19), before taking on Julio's hot seat round (00:59:30). CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy shocked everyone, including our guest, when they traded AJ DeLaGarza to the Houston Dynamo. In return, the Galaxy got some General Allocation Money and some Targeted Allocation Money. But what they lost was the heart and soul of a team. How that gets replaced is anyone's guess, but we're fortunate enough to be joined by AJ DeLaGarza on Corner of the Galaxy to thank him for all he's done for our show and to give the fans a chance to thank him in person. He will talk about how quickly he received the information from the front office and how that quickly panned out. He will also reveal whether or not he expected to come back in 2017 and he'll tell you what his feelings were after the 2016 season. This includes whether or not he was convinced he wanted to come back to the Galaxy. Then we'll dive into your personal phone calls as you thank AJ for everything he's meant to you. Because it isn't just one or two of you. It's a bunch of heartfelt confessions on what DeLaGarza has meant to you, the fans. And this is the real reason we do this show -- to allow you a chance to say goodbye. On a personal note, CoG and AJ DeLaGarza go way back. The Show started in 2009, the same year that Bruce Arena drafted DeLaGarza. As the show grew in popularity, one of the big bonuses was to get introduced to AJ, and have him as our first "starter" on the show -- and we probably have our first LA Galaxy player, Bryan Jordan, to thank for that. Throughout the years AJ has been a guest on multiple shows. Always generous with his time, always honest with his answers. He became part of the CoG Family, just as AJ, Megan, Luca, and Noelle became a part of everyone's family. We have been honored to share AJ's thoughts and opinions on the team throughout those years and we hope that you enjoy the chance to listen to him before heading off to Houston on Friday.
