This week Alan Altizer is honored to be joined by one of Montana's legendary traditional bowhunters from the 1970's, 80's, and 90's, Mr. Rosey Roseland. Now living in Alaska, Rosie and his wife still live their lives in the wild places. Rosey was close friends with Paul Schafer, the Wensels, Paul Brunner, Dick Robertson and many more of Montana's premier bowhunters. This group of traditional bowhunters were so well known by residents for killing so many animals, they called them, “The Wolf Pack”! So, join us as Rosey graciously shares some amazing stories from the good old days! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

When Lucy Ball found herself throwing golf balls into buckets at Deloitte in the mid-90s, she became caught up in the first sparks of the corporate coaching boom that would sweep through countless industries in the decades that followed. In our conversation, she describes how the people she met during that time – such as GROW-model creator Sir John Whitmore – offered a new leadership pathway, which involved a departure from dictative models and allowed coachees to lead their own development. While Lucy was director of the international leadership consultancy, Ideas Unlimited, she began to transition into high-performance coaching. She describes how, by facing fears of going it alone without backup and facilitating teams of “heavy hitting people”, she found a sense of power and influence while shaking off her inner critic and her need to be rescued.A self-described “magpie" in her twenties, Lucy now focuses her attention on Lucy Ball Consulting, where she applies her skills as an accredited Master Coach and Gestalt practitioner while working with clients such as NatWest, PepsiCo, HSBC, UK Sport, M&C Saatchi Group, BUPA and the NHS.Lucy is training to be a psychotherapist and finding ways to channel her work more altruistically, with people who might not have access to sizeable training budgets. She is also finding agency and empowerment through her passionate climate activism. In this episode, we talk about:How to get comfortable talking about being a coachThe benefits and pitfalls of coaching accreditation programmesKnowing when to partner up and the power of taking people with youWhat happens when you choose a modality and "go deep"Going "back to the source" of counselling and psychotherapyPairs coaching and the new lens it can offer leadersWe also talk about finding community and the joy that can be unlocked when people work together on big problems. To learn more about Lucy, visit https://www.lucyballconsulting.comFor information about my wider work, my writing or to buy my books, visit www.robbieswale.com.Music by My Good Man William: listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4KmeQUcTbeE31uFynHQLQgTo support the Coach's Journey, visit www.patreon.com/thecoachsjourney and to join the Coach's Journey Community visit www.thecoachsjourney.com/community. The exact title of this show is unknown, at least to me. The show is most likely, Christmas Plays, Wonders to Perform. And the episode title is probably, Learning a Lesson. Or Christmas Lesson. In the big city, George works at his typewriter, cranking out his next creation. Dorothy Lamour is the big time, popular actress. Work has driven their personal lives apart, but she wants to do something as a family for Christmas. When her agent has her booked for an event, she is forced to send a letter to the boarding school to tell her daughter, Sally, that She'll have to stay at school for the holiday. Naturally, the girl is upset, and is determined to get home, even if she has to travel alone. Troubles are piled on when a huge snow storm brings travel to a crawl, if not to a stop. Even phone lines are down. The equally determined mom decides to go get her daughter despite the work obligations, and storm. The problem is that the girl has already left. Is there hope that Sally can be found? How will they know if she made it to the bus or train terminal? Once Sally has been found and is beginning to recover, mom and dad plan for a big Cjhristmas party for all the kids who couldn't make it home. Mom has learned her lesson, and resolves to change her priority on her family life. Bonus Tracks: Dean Martin. An Arrangement of Christmas Classics. Dick Robertson. 1937. I Just Want You for Christmas.
