Today, Jill sits down with her brother Danny Coleman—founder of the Coaching Academy and host of the Leadership Chemistry podcast—to dig into what separates good online coaches from great ones. Danny walks through his 3R framework (Responsiveness, Recognition, and Real), emphasizing that genuine presence, specific encouragement, and authentic personality matter far more than credentials. They cover practical strategies for building rapport with online clients, while also tackling coaching burnout and how to manage energy by eliminating "extracurricular" coaching. Danny makes a counterintuitive case for cognitive empathy over emotional empathy, arguing that perspective-taking rather than feeling with clients actually makes coaches more effective and less drained.    Listen to Leadership Chemistry: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/leadership-chemistry/id1598246791   Connect with Danny:https://www.dannycoleman.co    Get on the waitlist for FBA: https://jillfitfree.com/fba-waitlist/   Jill is a fitness professional and business coach who effectively made the transition from training clients in person and having no time to build anything else to training clients online and actually being more successful. A former Division 1 college coach, MLS commentator for New York City FC, and host of the Coaching Academy on SiriusXM, Glenn brings a unique perspective shaped by years inside the game. His new book, Put It on Frame, draws from conversations with some of the top coaching minds and forms the foundation for a discussion that goes well beyond tactics. This episode gets into the reality of coaching at a deeper level — what actually separates top coaches, how they think, and how they lead. It's a conversation about clarity, personality, and managing people in environments that are constantly evolving. Gary and Glenn also explore the current state of US coaching and player development — a landscape that continues to grow, but is still searching for a clear identity at the highest levels of the game. In this episode, we cover: What top coaches really do differently Why coaching is more about managing than tactics The biggest challenges in US player development Key trends shaping MLS right now What success should actually look like for the US national team If you're serious about your coaching, this episode will challenge how you see the role and what it really demands. In this episode of The Health and Wellness Coach Journal Podcast, Dr. Jessica Singh speaks with Rebecca Rutschmann, a leading voice at the intersection of Human Intelligence and AI, dedicated to bridging the "GenAI Divide" in professional development. As the co-founder of Viva la Coaching Academy, she has moved beyond simple tool-training to champion AI fluency teaching coaches and leaders how to think with machines, not just through them. A recognized speaker and researcher, Rebecca partners with global organizations to design conversational AI experiences that prioritize ethical grounding, transparency, and the irreplaceable power of human presence. Rebecca shares how her path began with a lifelong fascination with technology. From being the only girl in tech class as a child, to working in website development, CRM systems, and corporate communications, she found herself repeatedly drawn to spaces where technology and communication met. Her journey into coaching began when she noticed that many young technical leaders in the workplace were struggling not with systems, but with people. Coaching gave her a language and a framework for supporting the human side of leadership, and over time it became clear that this was where her passions could converge. In this episode, Rebecca also explores the growing knowledge gap around AI in the coaching profession. Rebecca reflects on how many coaches are still overwhelmed by technology, unsure where to start, and deeply concerned about ethics, confidentiality, and responsible use. Through her work at Viva la Coaching Academy, she is helping fill that gap by creating learning spaces where coaches can explore AI safely, playfully, and in community. Rebecca speaks about one of the most important tensions in the field right now: how to embrace AI without sacrificing the heart of coaching. She explains that technology should not replace human connection, but it can enhance reflection, accountability, access, and professional growth. In many cases, AI is most useful between sessions through nudges, prompts, summaries, follow-up support, and reflective exercises that help clients sustain momentum. The conversation also explores the future of coach education. Rebecca makes the case that AI should not be treated as an optional extra or an advanced topic for later. Instead, it should be integrated into coach training from the beginning in ways that are practical, experiential, and grounded in ethical awareness. Dr. Singh and Rebecca also discuss what responsible AI use actually looks like. This episode serves as an encouraging reminder that AI in the future of coaching is not something happening to us. Rather, it is something we are actively shaping. What if the setback you're fighting is the very training ground God is using to make you stronger? We invite you into a raw, hope-filled conversation where two of our coaches share how broken wrists unraveled hurry, exposed pride, and opened the door to real freedom. From the first jolt of denial to the awkward daily work of opening jars one-handed, these stories reveal how adversity shifts when you stop asking “how do I control this?” and start asking “how do I trust here?”We explore the surprising link between spiritual surrender and functional health: stewarding your body like a temple, fueling your mitochondria with quality nutrition, and letting Scripture rewire your stress response. One coach walks us through ditching the scale and the diet mentality that kept her stuck, learning to trust the body God designed. Another offers a simple, life-giving refrain—God already knows—that turned self-pity into steady gratitude. It's not about perfect conditions; it's about faithful choices, repeated daily. You'll also hear the unexpected origin story of our Coaching Academy—born from obedience, not a business plan—and why intergenerational mentorship changes everything. Partners formed in training became lifelines during crisis, trading shallow cheerleading for prayer, challenge, and practical wisdom. About this episode: Manifestors are here to initiate and impact the world through their voice, yet for many of us, that voice was shaped by early experiences of being misunderstood or shut down. Being labeled as “too much,” “too loud,” or disruptive often taught us to restrain or armor our expression. In this episode, we explore how these voice wounds develop, how anger and silence can lodge in the throat, and why your voice was never the issue. This conversation invites you to soften into a new relationship with your voice, one rooted in clarity, timing, and self-trust rather than force or self-protection. We'll look at how informing becomes an act of self-respect and what it means to reclaim your voice without needing permission. This episode offers reflections and gentle practices you can work with in your own design, helping you reconnect to a voice that feels true, embodied, and unbridled. Connect with Amy on Instagram: @health_wellness_mindset_amy Learn more about Amy: Amy guides Manifestors in breaking free from conditioning and self-imposed limitations, helping them trust their unique energy, reclaim their power, and step fully into alignment with who they are meant to be. In episode 323 of The Just Checking In Podcast we checked in with Darren Lawrence. Darren is a qualified life coach and the Founder of Front Foot Coaching. In Darren's words, 'Front Foot Coaching is about helping you to get onto the front foot'. Darren predominantly works with middle-aged men, a demographic which is often forgotten about in the mental health space. Darren's journey didn't start in life coaching. For 17 years, he worked in large sports organisations including Sport England and The FA at regional and national levels. Interspersed within that time he gained some experience in a local authority and smaller organisations in a variety of senior roles, including CEO. He began to realise his passion for helping people was of equal level to his passion in sport, so in 2016 he enrolled on The Coaching Academy's Diploma for Personal Performance Coaching, which he qualified in, in 2017. Since then, he has taken up life coaching full-time and become self-employed, with all the highs and lows that come with that working life too. In this episode, we discuss this professional journey, from sport to life coaching and everything in-between. We then discuss the work he does specifically for middle-aged men, the issues he supports them with and the reality of the life coaching sector more widely. For Darren's mental health journey, we discuss the precarious nature of being self-employed and the importance of having a growth mindset. Rick Prince, Founder of UESCA, is the global leader in science-based endurance sports education. UESCA produces cycling, triathlon, running, ultrarunning, and nutrition certifications. Rick and I met in the early phases of the company (UESCA), and our connection has added a warm, human touch to the endurance sports community! Fun fact: Rick is also a New York Native! After getting my first running certification through the UESCA organization and connecting with Rick and his team, I knew this connection would open doors for both of us, leading him to open up a realm of other certifications and courses for coaches worldwide led by top-certified professionals, and me, being an early adopter and part of the UESCA family in its early phases. It's been inspiring watching the company continue to grow, to say the least, and I'm excited to have Rick on here to tell you more about it all!     Connect with UESCA:WebsiteHead to Apple Podcasts here to support the show, and tap the "+Follow" button!
