Dick O'Neill is a member of the New York Basketball Hall of Fame. Dick amassed more than 340 wins in his 20 plus years as a high school boys' basketball head coach at Monticello (NY) High School and Burke Catholic (NY) High School. Dick has served as President of the Orange County Coaches Association and of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York. He was the organizer and chairman of the BCANY All Star Games. He was named Coach of the Year nine times by the media and selected as the best coach in Section 9 by his fellow coaches. Dick has also coached in the Empire State Games. He served as the Co-Director of Big Guy and Tall Gal Basketball Camps.As a player at Kentucky Wesleyan University O'Neill was a member of three Division II National Championships in 1966, 1968, & 1969.On this episode Mike & Dick discuss Dick's profound journey from a player to a coach, emphasizing the significant impact that mentorship and accountability have on young athletes. Meet Jojo Persico, caoch of the St John's volleyball team for the last 20 years! Jojo shares her amazing, inciteful volleyball journey. A St. Francis Prep High School graduate and volleyball standout at the Queens school, Persico was selected as an inaugural member of the Catholic High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1991. In 2004, she was inducted into her third New York State Hall of Fame, the St. Francis Prep High School Hall of Fame, which also includes former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre and NFL coaching legend Vince Lombardi. She was awarded a seat on the St. Francis Prep Board of Trustees and served as President of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) for Brooklyn and Queens from 2007-09. In 2013, she was selected as an inaugural member of the St. Francis Prep Ring of Honor Award. Located in Queens, St. Francis Prep is the largest private catholic high school in the country. In 2014, Persico was inducted into the St. Francis Prep Inaugural Ring Of Honor. Still active on the court today, Persico also competed in the U.S. Volleyball Nationals in 2009, the top level of open volleyball in the country, teaming up with former Olympians and AVCA All-Americans, as well as standout NCAA student-athletes, on the Exterminators Volleyball Club. She is a 30-year veteran and one of the most decorated players in Empire State Games history. In 2008, the New York City women's team became the first team in the open division to win five consecutive gold medals, as it defeated Long Island in a one-set playoff, 25-17. Persico led teams to the gold medal in 1998 and 2004-08, the silver in 2002-03 and the bronze medal in 1999.

-Will Castillo is a U.S. Army veteran and the captain of Team USA's Para Bobsled team-During a 2007 deployment to Iraq his truck was hit by an IED, killing the trucks driver David Kirkpatrick and the trucks gunner Eddie Tamez. -Although he lived through IED blast, his wounds resulted in the amputation of his leg and a traumatic brain injury. He spent the following two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center learning how walk and talk again.-Struggling with his transition into civilian life, he started to deal with unbearable depression, anxiety, and survivor's guilt. Seeing no way out, he attempted suicide not once but twice - living through both attempts.-After these attempts, he dedicated his life to larger purpose. He was introduced to the sport of Para Bobsled and went on to make Team USA. Join Jen and her guest, former NFL football player, Morlon Greenwood. Morlon shares with us what his Foundation is all about and his plans to have a youth facility built! Get to know Morlon Greenwood Morlon Greenwood, who hails from Kingston, Jamaica, found his passion for soccer at a young age. After moving to the United States at 11 years old, Greenwood continued to participate in soccer until being introduced to wrestling by assistant wrestling coach Russ Cellan during his sophomore year. After being discovered for his wrestling talent, he took 4th place in the Nassau County Wrestling Tournament and was then encouraged by Russ Cellan, also the head football coach, to give football a shot during his junior year. His athleticism and his expeditious learning skills earned him a scholarship to Syracuse University after his first year. Greenwood continued to compete in wrestling and won the freestyle state championship, the Empire State Games freestyle championship twice and Greco Roman state championship once. During his senior year he won the scholastic state wrestling championship at 215 lbs and became his coach's first ever state champion in 29 years at Freeport High School as well as competing in track & field.       After a successful college career at Syracuse University, Greenwood was drafted in 2001 as a third-round pick for the Miami Dolphins as a linebacker. His NFL career spanned eight years as a starter and two teams, the Miami Dolphins and the Houston Texans. During his time as a free agent, Greenwood had a chance to expand on his career as a recording artist under the moniker “Ultimate,” with multiple songs reaching the rhythmic music charts and collaborations with artists such as Pitbull and Flo Rida. He also began training in other sports, such as boxing, where he turned professional for a brief period with a record of 3-0 and 3KOs. A year after becoming a free agent, Morlon signed with the Omaha Nighthawks, where he started for three years. After his football career, his endeavors have included furthering his music career and developing an acting career, as well as involvement in the non-profit sector.      During the time in his professional career, he also became involved in community needs with underprivileged youth by instilling keys to success and teaching marketable skills on and off the football field. With this passion, the Morlon Greenwood Foundation was created. The mission of the Foundation is to “Raise-Up youth to become successful socially responsible citizens through mentorship imparted to encourage the realization of their full potential while respecting diversity within the community.” This non-profit organization has utilized a network of nationwide organizations and a connection to local communities, where 3500 youth have been helped achieve their goals since 2016 for free. Morlon is also the President of the NFL Alumni Las Vegas Chapter, whose mission is “Caring For Kids and "Caring For Our Own”. Currently Mr. Greenwood is working on putting the MG52 Olympic Complex in place to provide mentorship through sports and the wrap-around services for the youth year-round. MG52 Complex will remain consistently focused on accomplishing its mission of inspiring today's youth towards reaching their full potential. Jacey Brooks is in her third season as Cortland's women's basketball head coach. During the 2019-20 season, Brooks led the Red Dragons to a 22-7 record, the finals of the SUNYAC tournament and an NCAA Division III tournament at-large berth. Cortland won its NCAA first-round game and tied for 17th place nationally. Brooks was named the D3hoops.com East Region Coach of the Year, and she and her assistant coaches were selected as the SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year. Brooks also guided Cortland to a SUNYAC tournament appearance in her first season in 2018-19. A former standout player at Buffalo State College, Brooks worked with Division I coaching staffs 11 years prior to her arrival at Cortland, most recently as an assistant coach for five years at Bowling Green State University in Ohio from 2013-18. Brooks was part of a Bowling Green program that finished 30-5 overall, captured the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular-season title with a 17-1 mark, and won three games in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) in the 2013-14 season. She co-managed the Falcons' offensive scheme, including in-game decisions, from 2013-16 and served as the program's defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator from 2016-18. The program had the fifth-highest team grade point average among Division I women's squads in 2014-15 and the seventh-best team GPA in 2016-17. In August 2015, Brooks was one of just 50 coaches across the nation selected to participate in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) Center for Coaching Excellence's inaugural session for assistant coaches in Atlanta, Ga. She is a June 2017 graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) Class #41 in Denver, Colo., and she also attended the NCAA/National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) Women's Leadership Symposium in Kansas City, Mo., in May 2016. Prior to her work at Bowling Green, Brooks spent three seasons on the coaching staff at Canisius College. She primarily worked with the team's backcourt players while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program. Brooks also worked at St. Bonaventure University, where she moved into an assistant coach role for the 2009-10 season after spending two years as the director of basketball operations. The Bonnies finished 23-10 and made their second straight WNIT appearance in 2009-10. A native of Machias, N.Y., Brooks graduated from Buffalo State in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness. During her four seasons on the hardwood for the Bengals (2002-05 and 2006-07) she recorded 1,219 points and 554 rebounds, earned two All-SUNYAC honors, and helped lead the team to three straight conference tournaments. She currently ranks sixth in school history in scoring and 15th in rebounding. Brooks is also the Bengals' career free throw percentage leader (84.5 percent), and she holds the school single-season records for 3-point shooting percentage (43.4 percent in 2003-04) and free throw percentage (87.0 percent in 2004-05). Brooks has also coached in the Empire State Games, serving as an assistant coach for the Western region in the women's open division.
