The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- According to reports, The Atlantic's editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg was inadvertently added to a Signal group chat with Trump Administration officials discussing planned military strikes against Houthi fighters in Yemen. Spokesman for the White House National Security Council Brian Hughes said the messages Goldberg received appear to be “authentic.” In Goldberg's report, he noted that National Security Advisor Michael Waltz was responsible for the mistake and that he may have also violated a federal records law—as Waltz set some of the messages exchanged on Signal to auto-delete after one week. While speaking with the press from the White House on Tuesday, President Donald Trump defended Waltz and suggested he doubts his cabinet officials will rely on Signal for group discussions moving forward. 3:10pm- During Wednesday's Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) outlandishly asked if Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was drunk when he decided to use Signal to communicate with other Trump Administration officials. In response, CIA Director John Ratcliffe adroitly noted that the attack against Houthi terrorists was wildly successful, and Rep. Gomez's claims are baseless. 3:20pm- While appearing on CNBC, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) attacked the Trump Administration for using Signal to communicate with one another prior to an attack on Houthi terrorists. Host Joe Kernen pointed out that Sen. Warner didn't seem to be nearly as outraged over the Biden Administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. 3:30pm- Steve Grillo—former Howard Stern Show intern—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his brand-new book, “Gorilla Parts.” What was the driving force behind Howard Stern's political U-turn? Rich notes that in 2024, no one in the Biden Administration was fired when Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin disappeared for weeks as the result of a medical procedure.

Today, I’m unloading on life’s little annoyances—notifications that won’t quit, measles making a comeback (what year is this?), and servers who mess up my dinner order. Epstein files, Gene Hackman’s mysterious exit, and why Travis Kelce’s haircut might tank his Swift romance. Plus, a shoutout to Jackie the Joke Man’s gabfest and a tease of Howard Stern’s potato saga with Grillo. We throw another Duraflame into the hot stove this week for a look back at the sterling, but oddly overlooked career of one of baseball's greatest "golden age" hitters. Biographer Jerry Grillo ("Big Cat: The Life of Baseball Hall of Famer Johnny Mize") helps us sort out the intriguing story of batting titan Johnny Mize - whose 15-year major league journey playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, the New York version of the Giants and five World Series-winning seasons (1949-53) with the New York Yankees - generated ten All-Star Game appearances, and a plethora of National League titles in home runs (4x), RBIs (3x) and hitting (1939) - despite missing three full seasons (1943-45) for wartime service with the US Navy. Widely considered a cinch for the Hall of Fame upon his retirement in 1953, Mize's path to Cooperstown instead took 28 years until a Veterans Committee vote in 1981 finally brought him into the pantheon of the sport's greats. Find out why the pride of Demorest, Georgia's road to baseball immortality took so long, why one of the sport's greatest underappreciated hitters unquestionably belongs in the Hall - and how the "Big Cat" unwittingly helped influence today's billion-dollar trading card industry! + + + SUPPORT THE SHOW: Buy Us a Coffee: https://ko-fi.com/goodseatsstillavailable "Good Seats" Merch: https://www.teepublic.com/?ref_id=35106 SPONSOR THANKS (AND SUPPORT THE SHOW!): Royal Retros (10% off promo code: SEATS): https://www.503-sports.com?aff=2 Old School Shirts.com (10% off promo code: GOODSEATS) https://oldschoolshirts.com/goodseats Yinzylvania (20% off promo code: GOODSEATSSTILLAVAILABLE): https://yinzylvania.com/GOODSEATSSTILLAVAILABLE BUY THE BOOK (AND SUPPORT THE SHOW!): "Big Cat: The Life of Baseball Hall of Famer Johnny Mize" (2024): https://amzn.to/3CeKNrb FIND AND FOLLOW: Website: https://goodseatsstillavailable.com/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/goodseatsstillavailable.com Threads: https://www.threads.net/@goodseatsstillavailable X/Twitter: https://twitter.com/GoodSeatsStill Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/goodseatsstillavailable/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GoodSeatsStillAvailable/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@goodseatsstillavailable

For more than 30 years, dei Principi di Spadafora has been quietly churning out some of Sicily's best wines in a tiny enclave of Virzì, about 35 miles southwest of Palermo, on Sicily's west coast. Photo: Francesco and Enrica Spadafora. Courtesy of dei Principi di Spadafora The Spadafora family has been in Sicily since 1230, and their family came from noble roots but dei Principi di Spadafora (Princes of Spadafora) vineyards and winery didn't really start until the late 1980s, when Francesco Spadafora decided to concentrate full time on growing grapes and making wine from a family property that had previously been designated only for bulk production. Since then, the organically farmed property and minimalist winemaking facilities have churned out spectacular, estate-grown wine, with Francesco at the helm. His daughter, Enrica, joined her father several years ago, doing the hard work of selling and marketing these very special wines from a remote part of Sicily. Photo: The glorious Principe G Grillo with Francesco's gourmet creation. Credit: Wine For Normal People I had the opportunity to meet Enrica and Francesco when I was with the Patron group in Sicily in May. I welcome Enrica (her father does not speak enough English to do a podcast!) to discuss the storied history, how her father left the life of an aristocrat to become a farmer and winemaker, and how they are able to make such outstanding wines (the Grillo and Nero d'Avola especially are magic!) Check them out at spadafora.com Enjoy!
