What actually gets investors to say yes in today's CPG market? In this episode, we revisit conversations with founders, operators and investors at Taste Radio's NYC Meetup who share candid advice on why disciplined growth, financial transparency and strong regional traction matter far more than hype – and why some of the biggest opportunities may be hiding in overlooked legacy categories. The hosts also dive into the rise of luxury and small-format grocery, including Whole Foods' Daily Shop concept and premium retailers like Laurel Supply and Nude Miami, and how brands like Ripi and Olipop are adapting their positioning, packaging and messaging to win with today's consumers. Show notes: 0:20: Nude & Bougie. Rip It. New For The Kids? Beefy Snacks, Pickle Beer & Soccer Chips. – The hosts discuss Whole Foods Market's expansion of its smaller "Daily Shop" concept into urban neighborhoods, alongside emerging upscale retailers like Laurel Supply in Los Angeles and Nude Miami. The conversation also touches on how emerging brands navigate this landscape, highlighting frozen pasta company Ripi as an example of a premium brand betting heavily on elevated packaging, product quality, and strong branding from day one to win placements at Whole Foods and Target. The hosts also dive into Olipop's newly announced refresh of its shelf-stable soda line, examining how the updated packaging and "feel-good soda" positioning appear designed to broaden the brand's mainstream appeal and attract younger consumers. They also sample Beest's beef-based charcuterie trail mixes, Ginny's adaptogenic sparkling beverages, Mooksi's overnight oat bites, Chestnut Sports Club's low-alcohol citrus lager, Pabst Blue Ribbon's Grillo's Pickles collaboration beer, Garrett Popcorn's hot honey flavor, Pop Off's limited-edition prebiotic soda, and Lay's World Cup-inspired chip flavors. 31:40: Interviews from Taste Radio's NYC Meetup – Stephen Plattman of accounting and advisory firm Anchin emphasizes the importance of establishing strong financial foundations early. Lucinda Capital founder and early-stage investor Mayur Aras encourages founders to prioritize strong regional traction and operational discipline over rapid expansion and also shares insights on how to move investors from "maybe" to "yes." He also noted growing excitement around innovation in overlooked legacy categories rather than short-lived trend-driven products. NextFoods CMO Lella Rafferty explains how recovery brand Cheribundi has shifted from a commodity juice positioning toward science-backed recovery and sleep solutions, leveraging credibility with athletes while introducing more portable formats like shots and gummies for "everyday athletes." Wandering Bear Coffee founder Matt Bachmann reflected on the company's evolution from boxed cold brew into a broader premium coffee platform, explaining how innovation in format and occasion has fueled growth while requiring increasingly sophisticated operational planning. Brands in this episode: Bai, Crooked Pop, Olipop, Poppi, Bloom, Mountain Dew, Beest, Rind Snacks, Parm Crisps, Ginny, Mooski, Chestnut Sports Club, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Grillo's Pickles, Garrett's Popcorn, Mike's Hot Honey, Pop Off, Lay's, GoodBelly, Cheribundi, Chobani, Habiza, Laurel's Coffee, Wandering Bear Coffee
For financial advisors, it might seem intuitive to spend time with prospects explaining the value they can offer. However, doing most of the talking can leave prospects unsure whether the advisor truly understands their needs, potentially discouraging them from becoming a client. In this episode, we welcome Sara Grillo, a marketing specialist for financial advisors, to discuss how focusing less on an advisor's expertise and more on what their prospects are truly worried about can lead to winning more clients. Sara also shares how to reduce friction in advisior marketing so prospects are more likely to take action and her practical approach to content creation, including how to turn real client questions into high-value content and how targeted content can drive both visibility and referrals. In this Sustainable Wine Roundtable Member Interview podcast, I'm joined by Antonio Bertone, CEO and co-founder of Alileo Wines. Alileo strikes an interesting balance between old and new, offering natural wines produced using traditional methods, but packaged in a less conventional way. Their Sicilian varietals such as Grillo and Zibibbo are available in both bag-in-box format as well as 20L one-way kegs. We talk about the packaging decision-making process, the trade-offs that come with alternative formats, and how Alileo is working to change perceptions around boxed wine. With their bold slogan of 'Boxed Wine is Not a Crime', Antonio shares the unique storytelling opportunity packaging can offer and insights into effective consumer engagement.

What are everyone's thoughts on selling feet pics online? After some girls got their trip funded for coachella using “feet finder”, Anna and Raven are wondering if this is something we should all look into! Annas is attending a wedding for the first time in a while and may not be brushed up on her 2026 wedding etiquette. Times have changed. GQ had a “men attending wedding” cheat sheet, why can't women have one! Raven has been casually breaking the law and not even thinking much about it. He dumps his trash into any dumpster he comes across. Whether it is private or public, he's using it. Michael Grillo, owner of Grillo services, joins Anna and Raven to discuss dumpsters and if Raven is really in the wrong when it comes to his illegal dumpster usage. Anna is ready to prove him wrong. Its Promposal time! We aren't going to prom, but we are going to propose! Anna, Raven, Producer Justin and Producer Sophia pick who they will be making a promposal to... once they present, you pick the winner! We may not be able to participate in senior assassin, but we did bring our own version to the studio. This one actually might be more fun Raven is convinced he won and didn't get hit by a single nerf dart, what do you think? Did Raven win or lose SENIOR (citizen) ASSASSIN? Robots are taking over. Whats new? But... the Boston marathon was this past weekend, along a bunch other, but one in China caught a lot of attention. Instead of human runners, it was robot runners. Jason and Maria are getting married! Jason thinks it's ridiculous that Maria doesn't want her mom (and her aunt) at her bachelorette party. His father is attending his. He thinks that all of these events are family events and her mom is cool! Just let her join, she wants to! Maria wants to tell her mom no. Would you let your mom at your bachelorette? Maria has a chance to win $2900! All she has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!

Were they flops – or just ahead of their time? In this episode, the hosts dig into one of the food and beverage industry's most intriguing debates: whether discontinued products failed because they were poorly conceived, or because the market simply wasn't ready. From drinkable soups and early functional shots to better-for-you snacks and non-alcoholic cocktail concepts, they revisit ideas that may have been too forward-thinking for their moment. The conversation expands into how today's shifting trends, like functional ingredients and alcohol-free innovation, could give these once-shelved products a second chance at success, where timing, not taste, may have been the real barrier. Show notes: 0:20: A Week Away. Real Chocolate Debate. Never Had A Shot/Ahead Of Its Time. Chips & I.V. – Ray gives a final call to register for Taste Radio's NYC meetup. Melissa highlights The Hershey Company's plan to return all Reese's and Hershey's products to classic milk and dark chocolate recipes by 2027, sparking a discussion about whether a shift back to "real" ingredients could reshape consumer expectations and premium chocolate demand. The hosts then explore discontinued products, debating whether they failed due to poor execution or were simply ahead of their time, including drinkable soup, better-for-you fruit snacks, non-alcoholic cocktails, and functional shots. They wrap with notable new products, including refreshed pita chip branding, a non-alcoholic "brew," and a quirky collaboration between Grillo's Pickles and Liquid I.V. Brands in this episode: Hershey, Reese's, Culture Pop, Feastables, Nantucket Nectars, Terranean, Just Ice Tea, Honest Tea, Poland Spring, Liquid IV, Grillo's, Fly By Jing, Fishwife, Justin's, Butterfinger, Tony's Chocolonely, Eat the Change, Welch's, Proposition Cocktail Company, Taki Mai, Spacho, Ahhmigo, Karma, Activate, Mello, Coca-Cola, GoodBelly, Cheribundi, Rhinestone, Poland Spring, Daily Crunch, Fly by Jing, Fishwife, Evergreen, V8, Superfoodio

We start off with the fattest and most obnoxious guest to ever appear on Financial Audit with Caleb Hammer. Sarah is obese and very, very dumb. With that said, what's going on with Caleb's show? Is any of this even real? It all seems like an amateur improv act. However, it is funny when they make her stand on a scale. After Kevin Brennan excels as our Cringe of the Week, Bill Burr tells us about how he has a new bit in his stand-up set talking about being nice to his wife. Steve Grillo partnered with John's friend Vegas Beer Sales Jerry and it could not have gone worse for him. Chaunce Hayden joins his show and calls StutJo a loser alcoholic who has lost everything. John's not gonna like that. Keanu Thompson cried on Hughezy's show because being mean to people is not cool unless she's being mean to people she currently doesn't like. John's new cohost, $2 Corky, debated Lucy Tightbox and got destroyed. Lucy then joins our show to go into a deep dive on $2 Corky and his history bullying a guy named Patrick Tomlinson. Opie is so excited that Howard Stern is getting sued, he inserts himself into the story like only Opie can. Stuttering John has reached a new level of pathetic. How is he the victim when he's the one who brought a lawsuit to Shuli and me?? What are the best fairway woods of 2026? Well GolfWRX just published their Best Fairway Woods list for this year and I break down who made it and a few who didn't on the show. Out at the Valero Texas Open there are some very interesting putters in some bags being tested. We have to jump in and talk about a few that stood out from Hideki, Marco, and Grillo with some special sauce! Finally, there isn't a ton on the workshop bench this week but it looks like I am going to have to reshaft my brother's set as the heads are flying off!

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/26/2025): 3:05pm- According to reports, The Atlantic's editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg was inadvertently added to a Signal group chat with Trump Administration officials discussing planned military strikes against Houthi fighters in Yemen. Spokesman for the White House National Security Council Brian Hughes said the messages Goldberg received appear to be “authentic.” In Goldberg's report, he noted that National Security Advisor Michael Waltz was responsible for the mistake and that he may have also violated a federal records law—as Waltz set some of the messages exchanged on Signal to auto-delete after one week. While speaking with the press from the White House on Tuesday, President Donald Trump defended Waltz and suggested he doubts his cabinet officials will rely on Signal for group discussions moving forward. 3:10pm- During Wednesday's Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) outlandishly asked if Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was drunk when he decided to use Signal to communicate with other Trump Administration officials. In response, CIA Director John Ratcliffe adroitly noted that the attack against Houthi terrorists was wildly successful, and Rep. Gomez's claims are baseless. 3:20pm- While appearing on CNBC, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) attacked the Trump Administration for using Signal to communicate with one another prior to an attack on Houthi terrorists. Host Joe Kernen pointed out that Sen. Warner didn't seem to be nearly as outraged over the Biden Administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. 3:30pm- Steve Grillo—former Howard Stern Show intern—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his brand-new book, “Gorilla Parts.” What was the driving force behind Howard Stern's political U-turn? Grillo believes Stern just desperately wants to be accepted by Hollywood A-listers and he can't achieve that by embracing Donald Trump. Grillo notes that Stern is ostensibly attacking his old audience. PLUS, he tells a bunch of wild stories including partying with George Clooney! Learn more about the book here: https://x.com/stevegorilla. 4:05pm- Democrats and members of the mainstream media continue to meltdown over the Trump Administration's use of Signal to communicate prior to an attack on Houthi terrorists. Rich notes that in 2024, no one in the Biden Administration was fired when Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin disappeared for weeks as the result of a medical procedure. CNN reported that President Joe Biden wasn't aware for days about Austin's hospitalization. Meanwhile, Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks was on vacation in Puerto Rico—responsibilities transferred to her when Austin was hospitalized. 4:15pm- While speaking with Newsmax, President Donald Trump called The Atlantic's editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg a “loser.” 4:40pm- On Wednesday, NPR and PBS executives testified before the DOGE subcommittee on overtly political content being funded by taxpayers. During one exchange with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), President and CEO of National Public Radio Katherine Maher conceded that they made a mistake by not covering the Hunter Biden laptop story prior to the 2020 presidential election. 4:50pm- According to the Los Angeles Times, Ben Affleck has “lost interest” in playing Batman. Rich rejoices. 5:05pm- Hate Crime Hoax: The Allentown Police Department has arrested LaTarsha Brown—an Allentown City employee. Investigators allege that she placed a noose on her own desk then reported the incident—which led to FBI and Pennsylvania State Police involvement. Investigators were able to use video surveillance and forensic DNA to conclude that Brown was responsible. 5:30pm- From the Oval Office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order placing a 25% tariff on imported cars. The tariffs will go into effect on April 2nd. According to The New York Times, 1 million—of the 2.3 million—Toyotas sold in the United States last year were manuf ...
