On the eve of NBA All Star weekend, John is joined by former pro basketball reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, whose breaking news prowess and social media savvy made him a star at ESPN and ushered in a new era in sports journalism. Having shocked the world last fall by leaving his TV job to become general manager of the hoops squad at his alma mater, St. Bonaventure University, Woj discusses how his life has changed since dropping his final "Woj bomb;" how the end of restrictions on compensation for student athletes is transforming the NCAA; and whether history will judge the Dallas Mavericks trade of Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers the dumbest deal in NBA history. Woj also recalls the time he emailed Republican Senator Josh Hawley to say “fuck you"—and reveals what he does and doesn't regret about that missive. President Trump's support of IVF as an effective means to increase fertility belies the complicated nature of this treatment and the ethical, moral, and philosophical implications of it. For instance, one of the pressing issues for children of IVF will be how their manner of conception impacts their psychological state. For another, they might wonder what happened to the other embryos which were discarded and worry about their place in their family or even with their parents. This conversation explores the psychological and societal implications of IVF and cloning, emphasizing the potential moral catastrophes that may arise from these practices. The discussion highlights the importance of family as a foundational element of society, the consequences of broken families, and the need for healing and love in addressing these issues. The speakers advocate for a return to valuing human life as a gift rather than a product, and they discuss the cultural attitudes towards IVF and the efforts to regulate it. Today's awkward conversation is a revisit from last season, which is knowing the signs of possible drug use and what to do. Our host, Jodie Sweetin is joined by Timothy P. McMahon who has been employed by the DEA since 1998 and Amy McCarthy, Clinical Social Worker at Boston Children's Hospital. Special Agent McMahon shares common ways that kids hide drugs in plain sight and what signs to look for with changes to personality, involvement, or money use. They also share tips on how to talk to your child about drugs and how to respond with love rather than anger if you discover your child is using drugs. This topic can be scary and overwhelming to parents but they need to remember the sooner you address it, the better. Key Takeaways: Teenagers often hide drugs in plain sight. Some places could be behind picture frames on the wall, in a book on their bookshelf, or even in a pop can or tennis ball. If you discover that your kids are using drugs, be sure to not respond in anger. Take a step back and collect your thoughts before approaching your child. Rather than lecture them, ask open ended questions and come at if from a place of wanting to understand what's going on. When you find these drugs you need to address the situation as quickly as possible because the situation will only get worse. And with each time that they use or engage in drug use, it can only lead to that much more danger. BIOS: Jodie Sweetin is an actress, author, and advocate, best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the iconic sitcom "Full House" and its sequel "Fuller House". In 2009 she penned her memoir, "unSweetined", which chronicles her journey through addiction and into recovery. With her frank and open approach, Jodie has emerged as a compelling speaker and advocate who now seeks to use her platform and experiences to educate others and reduce the stigma associated with addiction and recovery. @jodiesweetin Amy McCarthy, LICSW, is a Director of Clinical Social Work at Boston Children's Hospital's Division of Addiction Medicine. She has been working in the Adolescent Substance Use and Addiction Program since 2019 @amymccarthylicsw Special Agent Timothy P. McMahon has been employed by the Drug Enforcement Administration since October 1998 and has been assigned to DEA's New Jersey Division. Prior to becoming a Special Agent with the DEA he spent six (6) years as a trooper with the New York State Police from October 1992 thru October 1998. Special Agent McMahon has been assigned to enforcement and task force groups investigating drug trafficking organizations. He has also served as the Special Agent Recruiter, Demand Reduction Coordinator and Public Information Officer. Special Agent McMahon was recently promoted to Group Supervisor for the Special Support Unit. Supervisory Special Agent McMahon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Bonaventure University. Thursday night- Pre-Recorded: The Outer Realm welcomes special guests Philip Mantle and Irena Scott. Discussion : Their New Book : BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT – The Pascagoula Alien Abduction This Segment is dedicated to Calvin Parker who passed away August 24th, 202 The date was October 11th, 1973; the location was the Pascagoula River, Mississippi. Two shipyard workers Charles Hickson (age 42) and Calvin Parker (age 18) decided to go fishing on the river after work. Both anglers were not having much luck that night and they thought about calling it a night when something happened that would change their lives forever. A dazzling blue light from behind them illuminated the entire scene. Turning round both men watched in awe as a rugby ball-shaped object descended. A door opened and three bizarre looking humanoid entities glided out across to the two terrified onlookers. Both Parker & Hickson later that night made their way to their local Sheriff's Department to tell them that they had been abducted by aliens. It wasn't long before the story found its way into the media and the story went around the world. Charles Hickson readily told his story, but Calvin Parker wanted simply to be left alone. Hickson co-authored a book with William Mendez in 1983 and it wasn't until 2018 that Calvin Parker finally told his story in full for the first time. It was Calvin Parker's book and subsequent publicity that made this case probably the best documented such event on record. It wasn't necessarily what Calvin Parker related in his two books, but it is what happened when they were published. Much to everyone's surprise, more and more first-hand eyewitnesses began to step forward. A number of these witnesses reported seeing something a few days prior to the Parker/Hickson encounter and others a few days after. One last thing that has left the authors completely baffled is what could be ‘proof' of a physical contact with something by Parker and Hickson that night. Both men reported that when the bizarre looking humanoids took hold of them, they felt a kind of ‘scratch' on ‘prick' similar to an injection. The authors have uncovered a document written on October 13th, 1973, just two days after the encounter, which describes a physical examination of the two men and that ‘puncture wounds' were located on Charles Hickson's arm and Calvin Parker's foot. The document, located in 2018, also mentioned that photographs of these marks were taken. In the file sadly there was no sign of these photographs. In 2021 when this book was being written the authors received an email from a colleague that mentioned he had accidentally found a couple of photos that he thought we would be interested in. The photographs in question were those mentioned in the ‘puncture wounds' document obtained 3 years earlier and show marks on Charles's Hickson's arm and Calvin Parker's foot. These photos will be published here for the first time ever. This book concentrates on the independent eyewitness testimony, the puncture wounds evidence, the hypnosis sessions of the new witnesses and of Calvin Parker both of which were conducted exclusively for this book and it is left for the reader to draw their own conclusion. The book is fully illustrated with photographs, documents, newspaper cuttings and exclusive artwork by UK artist Jason Gleaves and has a foreword by Calvin Parker. We believe that the evidence provided in this book if it was taken to court could prove BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT that something truly extraordinary took place that October night in 1973 in the Pascagoula area. 2023 will be the 50th anniversary of this encounter and we have provided all of the evidence we have. All we ask is for you to take an objective look at this evidence and see if you agree with us or not. ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Philip Mantle is a long-standing UFO researcher and author from the UK. Clara and Phil Dandy lived in the Hinsdale House along with their children in the early 1970s. The paranormal activity became so frequent and so menacing that they called Father Alphonsus, a priest from St. Bonaventure University for help. With legends of a hanging tree, a pond that has claimed at least one life, a “structural exorcism”, and hills that are said to hold the graves of countless, to say that this place is a hotspot would be a desperate understatement. Join us as we take a look at what many believe to be the most haunted house in Western New York. Enjoy! Campfire: Tales of the Strange and Unsettling is created for adult audiences only. Jodie Sweetin is an actress, author, and advocate, best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the iconic sitcom "Full House" and its sequel "Fuller House". Jimmy and Tony Maritato In the interview, Jimmy and Tony discuss various side hustles that physical therapists can explore to potentially earn an additional $10,000 per month. They emphasize the importance of leveraging one's specialized knowledge and targeting specific niches. Some of the ideas mentioned include creating and selling digital products like courses, eBooks, or PDFs; offering consulting or coaching services to PTs, clinics, or other businesses; developing a niche blog, podcast, or YouTube channel to educate and entertain while monetizing through ads, sponsorships, or affiliate marketing; and providing concierge or "come to me" PT services for personalized care.Additionally, they mention the concept of intrapreneurship, where physical therapists can upsell services to their current employers by identifying problems in the system and proposing solutions to improve the bottom line. This approach can lead to success and help them branch out into other businesses or opportunities. Overall, the interview emphasizes the importance of focusing on the audience, understanding their problems, and offering valuable solutions that align with the therapist's interests and expertise.Visit https://ptpintcast.com/Host: Jimmy McKay, PT, DPTJimmy is the Director of Communications for Mount Sinai Hospital in the Division of Rehabilitation and Human Performance and the Abilities Research Center (ARC). Charlene Gorda Costanzo is an award-winning author, experiential event facilitator, speaker, wife, mother of two adult daughters, and grandmother of twins. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Bonaventure University and an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She loves to read, write, travel, swim, hike, dance, dabble in art, learn new things, befriend strangers, and - most of all - be with her family. Hearing from readers is right up there with spending time with family and being in nature. Originally from New Jersey, she has resided in New York, Texas, Arizona, and Florida. During a one-year book tour to launch The Twelve Gifts of Birth, Charlene and her husband enjoyed the adventure of living in a motorhome in 48 of the 50 states. The Twelve Gifts series of fables began in 1987 when Charlene wrote The Twelve Gifts of Birth as a life message for her then teenage daughters. Twelve years later she published the book and discussed its message in schools, shelters, prisons, churches, and hospitals throughout the United States while traveling in that motorhome, which they called "George." Because that was their only home for a year, when children asked, as they often did, where do you live, Charlene delighted in answering, "Right here" and that was the truth. For a few days they lived in Fargo, Saint Paul, Portland, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Shreveport, Atlanta, Boston, Erie, and in many more cities throughout the United States. The Twelve Gifts for Healing was written while Charlene was in treatment for advanced Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2001. "Cancer led me to examine my convictions and look at these twelve life gifts more deeply. Truly, they helped me heal," she says. The Twelve Gifts in Marriage came from the ups and downs, ebbs and flows, and hurts and healings that are a part of every long-term marriage. After she wrote The Twelve Gifts of Birth, Charlene mused about a scene in its opening. What might have happened when, "The wise women came to understand that the twelve royal gifts of birth belong to every child...they yearned to proclaim the gifts to all children...but the customs of the land did not allow that." What happened was The Thirteenth Gift. This fourth work in The Twelve Gifts series also explains why so many people world-wide are fascinated with stones. Touchstones: Stories for Living The Twelve Gifts is a collection of true "Chicken-for-the-Soul-like" stories that demonstrate the gifts at work in people's lives. Opening The Twelve Gifts: A Touchstone Sampler is a like sampler box of chocolates, except, instead of chocolates, the samples are of Today's Touchstone daily inspirations. They are sweet and enriching but calorie-free. The Twelve Gifts from the Garden: Life Lessons for Peace and Well-Being is a collection of stories inspired by nature in the botanical garden at Sanibel Moorings on Sanibel Island, FL. More significant than what The Twelve Gifts from the Garden is about, is what it can do. Episode 10 of Paranormal Stories. This week the books are 'Soul Smart : What The Dead Teach Us About Spirit Communication.' by Susanne J. Wilson and 'Beyond Pascagoula: The Rest of the Amazing Story' by Dr. Irena ScottAs you may know I produce two podcasts, the past lives podcast and the Alien UFO Podcast and it is here that I combine the two. When I have a guests on my podcasts I read their books to research and work out questions for the episodes. When reading these books I always find such fascinating information which never makes it into the podcast and here I get a chance to give you a peek into the book.I did seek permission to record these extracts from the books and the authors kindly said yes.Dr. Irena Scott 'Beyond Pascagoula: The Rest of the Amazing Story'.What is best known about the UFO events of October 1973 is the Pascagoula abduction account of Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker. It began as an extremely credible report, but unlike many reports, intensive research has uncovered a number of additional reports of UFO sightings in the area at around the same time. This number continues to grow and more are given here. This has added to its credibility and because of this, it has been termed the best-documented alien abduction account on record. But much is not known about many elements associated with this event. It had numerous unique aspects, such as that the instruments the beings appeared to use to scan the men resembled such modern devices as the computerized axial tomography (CAT) scan. Such unique factors are compared to additional reports from the same time. This may be the first report of a new type of abduction event; there may have been a second abduction, by the same object at around the same time as Parker and Hickson's. Abductions appear to happen as single events, but this may have been extremely different and the first reported. And there may have even been several abduction attempts on the same night as the Pascagoula abduction. In addition much happened at the same time as the Pascagoula abduction, such as reports of close UFO encounters, a thunderous boom, and similar episodes that swarmed in to bewildered operators in many states across the USA. These events ushered in a massive UFO wave, possibly the largest wave ever experienced and possibly the last wave. The strange boom was no ordinary sound; it was one that, with the exception of the Krakatoa volcanic eruption of 1883, could be the most widespread audible sound ever recorded. It did not happen in some out of the way place; it happened in the nation's vital centers. It was felt in Washington DC, over areas of the nation's highest population density, its heartland, and several vital cities. This sound was analyzed according to the latest NASA research on sounds. The boom was quite unnatural and remarkable in many ways. The width of the sound would mean that the object causing it would be many miles high, in outer space, and in a location where there should be no overpressure. However, there was a large area of overpressure such that it broke windows in a swath over at least three states and it appeared able to cause ground movement over a large area. It appeared to defy the laws of physics. Unlike most UFO associated phenomena where there is no hard scientific proof, this sound was recorded on two seismographs, which may provide scientific proof of the existence of anomalous UFO phenomena associated events.BioDr. Irena Scott received her PhD from the University of Missouri in physiology, did post-doctoral research at Cornell University, has been an Assistant Professor at St. Bonaventure University, and has done research and teaching at The Ohio State University, the University of Missouri, the University of Nevada, and at Battelle Memorial Institute. She worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Aerospace Center in satellite photography, was a volunteer astronomer at the Ohio State University Radio Observatory, and has taken flying lessons. Her publications include books, and works in scientific journals, magazines, newspapers, and she was a correspondent for Popular Mechanics magazine. She served on the MUFON Board of Directors (1993 to 2000), is a MUFON consultant in physiology and astronomy and a field investigator. She co-edited eight symposium proceedings, has been a State Section Director for Ohio MUFON, was a founding member of the Mid-Ohio Research Associates (MORA) and its journal editor, and has published UFO material in books and journals (including scientific journals).https://www.amazon.com/BEYOND-PASCAGOULA-REST-AMAZING-STORY-ebook/dp/B09FBNBT2L/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1650111250&sr=8-1Susanne J.
