As we said in our Tuesday show, we have interviews with recently-announced Head Coaches at two major programs in Upstate New York. First, Frank & JB discuss Tom Blumenauer's move from Franklin & Marshall to Cortland, as he takes over for Curt Fitzpatrick following the Red Dragons' playoff run in 2024 and National Championship in 2023. Then, they talk with former Morrisville Head Coach Ed Raby about his exit to St. John Fisher after former Head Coach Paul Vosburgh's retirement. Both of these programs have had input in the national #D3FB landscape over the last decades, and both coaches look to continue their own levels of success in their prior jobs at their new locations. Learn a lot more in this episode. (Note: Apologies for some of the clipped audio on Frank's end due to a microphone issue -- it is limited but noticeable at times. Thank you.)
#46 Captain of the Minnesota Wild, Jared Spurgeon, revisits his favorite Wild podcast and brings along a side of him that even our hosts have't seen. Jared talks about his team, how they support each other, chirp each other, and how they appreciate a nice "sauce" to one another. Carts and King talk ODRs, the red dragon, puffy vests, and more, but stick around for Pulltab etiquette towards the end of the show. If you don't know anything about Pulltab's, this would be a solid introduction before you make your way over to Bunny's. Rip the doors off with Spurg in this weeks episode.
In our first teaching, we learned from Revelation 12 that the dragon is Satan, the woman is Israel, and the child is the promised Messiah. Satan's focus is on killing the woman (Israel) and her child (Messiah) which are depicted in prophetic, astral symbols and imagery. He does all that he can though his army of fallen angels to destroy her and her baby. Join us in this teaching as we learn about Satan's first defeat and lessons in Revelation 12 which are key to persevering and overcoming the great red dragon today.

On this episode Wolf & Cub take a look at the first two seasons of Welcome to Wrexham available on Disney +. In 2020, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds teamed up to purchase the fifth tier Red Dragons in the hope of turning Wrexham AFC into an underdog story the whole world can root for, but the concern was that neither had any experience in football. From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, and the front office to the pub, the docu-series tracks Rob and Ryan's crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.OFFICIAL SERIES TRAILERhttps://youtu.be/UJYFASFtbc4?si=I9DuZPXvpvtF5JHYWOLF CUB FILM CLUB https://www.instagram.com/wolfcubfilmclub/ Hosted on Acast. "IT GOES DEEPER THAN FOOTBALL. IT'S PEOPLE'S LIVES." Those are the words of Wrexham midfielder and club legend Elliot Lee speaking on what makes Wrexham such a special place to play. And in the latest installment of This Week in Wrexham, Powered by SToK, Elliot sits down with Rog to deep dive into his incredible career journey to Wrexham AFC: starting from his childhood garden where he played with his father, Newcastle United great Rob Lee, to his career beginnings at West Ham and Luton Town, all the way to earning promotion with the Red Dragons in North Wales. Then, Elliot breaks down the surreal experience of meeting Will Ferrell in the team dressing room, plus how playing with Wrexham made his career dreams come true. What's next? That's a great question this time of year, and we tackle that big question in a few ways in our January podcast, the first one of 2024. Cortland, now the reigning and defending national champs, says what's next is turning the page, but before they do, we sit down with Red Dragons head coach Curt Fitzpatrick to reflect on a great (the greatest?) Stagg Bowl, and the aftermath, while talking about recruiting and the transfer portal and what his program is looking for for next season. We ask what's next of Brad Spencer and North Central football. Spencer reflects on the play call that left his team out of the end zone on a two-point conversion with 80 seconds left in the game, then getting his players back in the meeting room on campus recently to talk about what happens between now and spring ball? Something else that's definitely "next" in Division III is new programs taking the field, and the Roanoke Maroons will do so in a limited way this fall, and a more formal way in 2025. Patrick and Greg sit down with new Roanoke head coach Bryan Stinespring and his defensive coordinator, Mike Giancola, as they start the daunting task of taking a football program from an idea on paper to a unit on the field, one which will play on the same field the Stagg Bowl was just played on. Plus, what's next in the Division III football playoffs? We talk about that drive for 40 teams. Patrick and Greg discuss that and more in this edition of the podcast. The D3football.com podcast is a weekly in-season podcast by Patrick Coleman and Greg Thomas, which was started in 2007. Mel and Mar talk with members of the notional champion Cortland Football Team
Yep, that's correct. You see the colors above, and nary a Purple Power to be found. No more UW-Whitewater, no Mount Union, and of course, none of those other prominent purple powerhouses that failed to make the field. Instead, you've got the familiar red of North Central, plus Cortland as actual Red Dragons, along with the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon and the orange of Wartburg. These teams got here through a pretty fantastic quarterfinal round, and Patrick and Greg talk about it all. We sit down with DeAngelo Hardy of North Central after his amazing day where he filled the stat sheet in ways you wouldn't imagine possible in one person. Keith McMillan makes another return to the podcast and chats with Mitchell Johnson and Nick Hale, two of the four key running backs for Randolph-Macon. Zac Boyes talks about finding his receiver wide open on a key play that broke the Cortland game at Alma wide open, and Wartburg's Hunter Clasen talks about catching the game-winning touchdown pass against UW-Whitewater. Plus, our listener question: What does each team need to do defensively this week in order to succeed? This edition of the podcast is sponsored by d3photography.com, the licensed photography bureau contracted by D3sports.com. Patrick Coleman and Greg Thomas discuss, in this edition of the podcast. We used to do this preview podcasts all the time, before life and day jobs interfered. But it's great to get back in the saddle, and do some longer interviews in this edition of the D3football.com Around the Nation podcast. Founding co-host Keith McMillan sits down for an in-depth conversation with Randolph-Macon coach Pedro Arruza as his team gets ready to take on Johns Hopkins in the quarterfinals. Arruza's career as a head coach at Randolph-Macon has now reached 20 seasons, and that's something considering he almost didn't get past year No. 3. Keith and Pedro talk about that, plus what drove Arruza to become a head coach, and much more. Patrick Coleman sits down with Alma quarterback Carter St. John. Yes, he joined us for Fast Five in 345 and talked about the final drive at Mount Union, but this is a new conversation about how St. John came to Alma rather than backing up a D-III quarterback you have definitely heard of at another school in the region. Plus, how far the kilt wearing has spread on the team, and whether a name like Carter St. John really lends itself to a fine clothing line. (Psst, it does.) We also chat with Curt Fitzpatrick, who is bringing his Cortland team to Alma this upcoming weekend. You'll hear about the Red Dragons' unexpected itinerary, plus get an early look at how Cortland quarterback Zac Boyes compares to St. John. Fitzpatrick also talks about the difference between his team's two very different playoff performances so far in this bracket. And we wrap up our conversations with UW-Whitewater cornerback and Gagliardi Trophy semifinalist Egon Hein. He talks about playing for a new head coach and a new defensive coordinator, ones who are hardly new to the program at all, as well as what it's like to play in front of all those people at Perkins Stadium, preparing for the Nameless Gray Face on the opposing side this week, playing with his brother, and much more. Plus, Trevor Castle brought us a great question: How did North Central get to this dominant position, and who are the programs that are poised to make that next step themselves? This edition of the podcast is sponsored by d3photography.com, the licensed photography bureau contracted by D3sports.com. Patrick Coleman and Greg Thomas discuss, in this edition of the podcast. We can't say in any way, shape or form that we called it. But in podcast 343, we did identify Alma as a team that could challenge Mount Union. But when push comes to shove, no, Alma scoring 24 points in the fourth quarter to defeat Mount Union was not something any of us saw coming. The magnitude of the victory may not have sunk in yet for everyone at Alma. We catch up with Scots quarterback Carter St. John, who talks us through that final drive and the game-winning touchdown with 10 seconds left. We also talk about the reaction to the loss in Mount Union circles and whether people should circle the wagons around their head coach. Plus, has anyone ever scored 24 in the fourth quarter of an elimination game against Mount Union? Our crack research staff has the answer. How about another thrilling finish? That's what happened when Cortland went for two, then held on against a field goal attempt from Grove City in the closing seconds. Cortland was always going for two, and Red Dragons head coach Curt Fitzpatrick comes on to talk about it. Plus, it's still hard to believe that North Central has to travel to UW-La Crosse this week. It's just as unbelievable for North Central coach Brad Spencer, whose monologue about how we have to do better for student-athletes is well worth your time to listen to. Patrick and Greg talk about all eight second-round games, and take your questions in this edition of the podcast. This edition of the podcast is sponsored by d3photography.com, the licensed photography bureau contracted by D3sports.com. We also hand out game balls and spotlight the key stats in the bracket. Ryan March from Alternative Wales fills us in on everything Cymru Leagues and the boys ask if Swansea can really sneak into the playoffs.
Timbo and GuyGuy have been to podcast therapy/mediation to work on their connection and the results are middling. It's been a challenging watch, in trying conditions as despite both being in the same city, they are separated by a literal cyclone. Guy unearths an Architectural Digest tour of Tyrese's mansion before sharing an infamous Instagram post by The Rock that was made on the last week of filming F8. It is bombshell material. Tim speculates on the beef/working conditions of the F8 set and what insecurities collaborating with The Rock may have unearthed in Vin Diesel. A feeble attempt to lighten the mood comes in the form of a pitch for a ghastly alternative F8 involving the Red Dragons (the girls soccer team that Hobbs/The Rock coaches).PRODUCTION NOTE: Tim misgendered Ezra Miller in this episode. We're back with another Docuseries. Resembling in ways a real-life Ted Lasso, Welcome to Wrexham chronicles the purchase of Wrexham AFC by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny. The Wrexham Red Dragons are a fifth-tier Welsh football club, meaning they sit at the very bottom of the pyramid of professional UK leagues. Thus, the immediate goal of this venture is pretty simple: Promotion. Ryan and Rob certainly have the capital to make a splash. The question is whether money will translate onto the field. Marketed as an underdog story, Welcome to Wrexham is anything but and with a cynical lens we look at the odd setup of this program. Sure, as the 3rd oldest football club in the world bolstered a small blue-collar town whose fed-up with years of poor results, Wrexham AFC is a team worth rooting for. However, given the deluge of money & prestige immediately put into the club by their Hollywood owners, they become, in some ways, the evil villain of the fifth-tier league. Fortunately, the series takes a wise approach and democratizes its focus. Sure, much of the runtime is filled with vainglorious self-promotional bits for Reynolds and McElhenney (after all, everything Ryan touches is branded to death). But many episodes give us, the audience, a direct and intimate glimpse into the small, tight-knit Welsh community of Wrexham. We listen to the pub's boorish bickering and drunken bloviation; we learn about the history of football hooliganism; we get an in-depth backstory on the corruption and subsequent cooperative takeover and ownership of the Red Dragons. By the end, it's nearly impossible not to cheer on Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, and teammates as they claw their way to the cusp of promotion. Even for cynics like ourselves, it's nearly impossible not to feel a bit charmed, instead of vexed or embarrassed, by the team's rise to dominance. It's hard not to forgive Rob and Reynolds, despite their football illiteracy (Ryan literally asks bystanders to explain offsides during a critical matchup at Wembley late in the season). And that's a testament to the power of the world-building. Enjoy some good old-fashioned ranting and rowing as we wildly vacillate between positive and negative overreactions.

It's week #7 of the high school football season as Ripley travels to St. Albans. Somethings got to give as the 18-game series between the Vikings and Red Dragons is all tied up at 9 wins apiece. Parker Boyd is a 2-way starter for the Vikings. He was injured in the Oak Hill game and sat out the Roane County game, but #7 is back in action this week as a wide receiver and in the defensive back. Former Viking Elijah Miller finds himself as the starting punter as a freshman for the Bison of Bethany College.
