Happy Halloween, everyone! We decided to take advantage of the fact that the holiday is on a Thursday this year and sat down to watch the low-budget campfest that is "Jason X"! It looks like it cost roughly $12 and starred every Canadian actor that wasn't working on a "Stargate" or other syndicated early-2000s sci-fi series over a weekend off, which honestly just adds to its bizarre atmosphere. Two of your hosts have never seen a single "Friday the 13th" before this, so what was their opinion of this odd, self-aware outing? Listen to find out! Also this week: effort distribution, rim-face, and better than "Star Wars"?
Skip the banter: 00:08:17This is a listener suggestion from Jacey. The Witman family consisted of parents Ron & Sue & their two sons, 15-year old Zach & 13-year-old Greg who lived in the small, quiet town of New Freedom, Pennsylvania. The town was shocked & saddened when they learned the tragic news that 13-year-old Greg had been ambushed in his own home moments after walking through the front door as he came home from school. Even more chilling, they soon learned that the murderer was Greg's own teenage brother who slashed him to the point of decapitation.YouTube video of this episode (come see us!): https://youtu.be/5t8ItmxnnPsSupport the showAll our links (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Merch, etc):https://linktr.ee/crimeandcoffeeFacebook Group to discuss episodes:www.facebook.com/groups/crimeandcoffeecouplepodcast/References available at https://www.crimeandcoffeecouple.com a few days after this podcast airs.Case Suggestions Form: https://forms.gle/RQbthyDvd98SGpVq8Remember to subscribe to our podcast in your favorite podcast player. This week we are joined by Jacey Saige, a Gen Z financial literacy advocate who wants to discuss how to find AI opportunities and stock market impacts. Jacey is filling in for our beloved Jessie DeNuit - do not fret she will be back next week! AI is an important narrative to sustain this bull market. The S&P 500 is about 30% driven by technology. 5% is NVDA. Which means the AI narrative matters because of how we define the market. NVDA is about duration and demand pull for AI. NVDA reports after the hyperscalers: (GOOGL, META, AMZN, MSFT). There is a new emerging AI headwind: Grid pressure. AI is using a lot of power, every new iteration of NVDA becomes more efficient, the issue arises as demand is growing at an astronomical rate. Grid pressure is a byproduct of compute growth. The opportunity: power providers that can bring to market faster, or alternative, like nuclear power, quickly and at better margins. Meet Jacey Saige! Jacey got her first taste of entrepreneurship at 16yrs old, she amassed 30k followers on Instagram and TikTok through sharing her art. Transitioning seamlessly from showcasing her creativity to managing social media, she honed her skills as a freelance manager and created her first business. Now, as she delves into the world of finance, Jacey's journey has taken an exciting new turn. Pursuing a degree in finance, Jacey shares her insights and discoveries on TikTok @jacey_saige, demystifying investing and empowering her audience to take control of their financial futures. She brings a fresh perspective to the often intimidating world of finance, making it accessible to all. Still Have More Questions or a Comment?

On this episode of the series "How I Built my Speech Path Business," we talk with SLP Jacey Bullock. Jacey spent the beginning of her career as a speech therapist in the school setting, and once she became pregnant with her 3rd child, she knew she wanted to create an opportunity for herself that would allow more time with her children while still using her passion and knowledge as a therapist. What started as testing out the waters seeing a couple of kids privately quickly turned into a full blown speech therapy clinic with several speech therapists working with and for her. Jacey never could have imagined that starting a business just a few months shy of having her third baby would have successfully grown into what it is today. Jacey goes through her journey with us from marketing strategies, searching for office spaces, finding and hiring the right therapists, serving her patients and families and creating contracts for her employees. One of Jacey's main goals in being a business owner is to create a flexible and empowering work environment that radiates positivity and attracts both clients and therapists alike. She shares operational strategies that keep her team motivated and her clients returning. From the decision to operate on a private pay system to the freedom of scheduling that allows therapists to maintain work-life harmony, Jacey is proving that her foundational values are key to creating a successful business . She also shares about her sister's partnership in the business and the importance of trust and communication when making those decisions. Making sure families are matched with the right therapist is another important goal for Jacey as a business owner. She knows that the right fit is important for both the therapist and the child, and although it takes time and energy making sure that happens, the effort has proven to keep inquiries coming in and therapist schedules full. Angela presents a biohack alongside Dr Jacey Folker, in which they discuss the importance of strategically dosing carbohydrates before a workout for optimal performance. They delve into the impact of insulin resistance on hormone balance, particularly in women, and how certain peptides and supplements can help improve insulin sensitivity and hormonal health. The conversation also touches on the benefits of peptides like semaglutide and terzipatide for weight loss and appetite suppression, as well as the use of supplements like berberine, alpha lipoic acid, and chromium to optimize blood sugar levels KEY TAKEAWAYS Strategic carbohydrate consumption before a workout can be beneficial for active individuals. Peptides and supplements can help improve insulin resistance and lead to positive effects on hormones. Berberine, alpha lipoic acid, chromium, and B vitamins are recommended for optimising blood sugar levels. Dosing of peptides like semaglutide should be individualised to avoid side effects like nausea and loss of appetite. Tailoring treatment to the patient's response is crucial in achieving desired outcomes and minimising side effects. BEST MOMENTS "Insulin itself is considered a peptide and kind of a hormone. It's one of my favorite peptides. I have a daughter that's a type 1 diabetic, and she wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for insulin." "Berberine has a lot of positive things it can do. Obviously, one of them is to help improve blood sugar levels, insulin resistance. It also has been shown to improve the lipids, the cholesterol." "I've definitely noticed that with PCOS, the common thing is, you know, for me, because I've got that more kind of pro-androgenic, if I have too much sugar, it leads to breakouts. That's the first thing that I'm going to see." Angela is joined by functional medicine practitioner, Jacey Folker, who specialises in optimising health through lifestyle changes, peptides, hormone replacement therapy, and supplements. They discuss the importance of prioritising gut health and addressing gut issues, such as leaky gut and malabsorption, which can lead to autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue, and weight loss resistance. They also delve into the role of insulin resistance in hormone imbalances, particularly in women with conditions like PCOS, and how peptides like semi-glutide can positively influence insulin resistance and improve hormonal balance. KEY TAKEAWAYS Prioritising gut health is crucial for overall health and well-being, especially for individuals who exercise frequently. Insulin resistance can lead to hormone imbalances in women, and addressing insulin resistance can have positive effects on hormonal health. We're coming down the home stretch of season previews as we head to Raleigh, with Jacey Zembal (@JaceyZembal) of The Wolfpack Central joins us to talk all things NC State in 2023, INCLUDING: Dave Doeren enters Year 11 in Raleigh, and it's really pretty impressive how he quickly built NC State into a consistent winner again after the peak of 2018 -- how did he do it? QB Devin Leary transferred out, Robert Anae was hired, Brennan Armstrong transferred in...and where does all of this leave MJ Morris? The Wolfpack have had several very good defenses under Dave Doeren, and this might be one of his best. There are a handful of tough games on this schedule, but they all have one thing in common, and it's very much to NC State's benefit.... All of this, plus record predictions and much more! Today is an extra personal and special episode. Catt is joined by her two longtime friends Jacey Duprie and Catalina Su. You may know them if you've been a longtime follower of Catt, but if not, you may also know them for their own impressive accomplishments. Jacey is an entrepreneur, published author, and creative director of Wyeth. Lina is a makeup artist who has painted the faces of the Kardashians, Britney Spears, and many others – and is now spending most of her time enthusiastically sharing about her new skincare venture Incellderm which you can learn more about on her blog. In this episode, the girls come over to record Catt's final episode in her home studio before making the move to Malibu to merge lives with her partner Greg. They discuss this major life transition – reflecting on the past and romanticizing the future. This conversation marks the “in-between” and it's quite touching (and fun!) It Sure is a Beautiful Day to think about the opportunity that change can bring! Also, an important announcement you won't want to miss.
Jacey was one of my very first NYC friends (we actually went to college together!) and we both happen to be moving away from the city around the same time this summer, so we sat down to talk about the good, the bad, the wild, and the amazing moments we had here. Jace is a fount of wisdom and I'm so blessed by her friendship - and I know you will be blessed by her perspective, courage, openness, and joy as well!

Product of the Week: With our experience through Intown Golf Club and the renovate of The Killearn Club down in Tallahassee, some interesting golf applications come across our desk and this is one of them and it's called Pinz (Pinz). This product of the week comes out of Mobile, Alabama from a proven entrepreneur. Mike Stashik, who is solving the problem of the complexity of on course competition. For the golfers listening, how many time have you played in a large group or outing and keeping tabs on the game is too much effort. Games either have to be kept simple or there is a calculator used at the end after you've thrown your $20 dollars in. Pinz seeks to bring even more fun to the game by providing software that integrates in the USGA's handicap system and makes game creation, scoring, and competition that much more simple and livelier. If you're in a weekly golf game, check out Pinz. Feature Release of the Week: Our friends at AnyDistance have launched their 4.0 version of the product this week and it's big. This update is all around enhancing your community. The feature is called Active Clubs through AnyDistance and it's designed to empower and support individuals on their active life journey while fostering a close-knit community of like-minded friends. If you're looking to lead a healthier, happier life by embracing various activities and lifestyles with friends, we put the link to the Product Hunt launch in the show notes. Raise a Glass: Two fantastic raises this week. First is from one we covered not that long ago called Mi Alma. The Arogeti's Jordan and Scott, started a company to support families in need after a lost one. Mi Alma provides the tools and documentation methods to memorialize legacies of lost ones. They raised $1.5M. Congrats to the Arogeti's on taking the next financial step in the Mi Alma journey. Second, Alan Pledger, the CEO of MakeSwift, announced they raised $3M led by Active Capital. MakeSwift removes the technical barriers marketers face when managing a complex enterprise website. They've done this by creating a visual builder for Next.js which empowers marketers to build and manage these sites using React components that act as custom building blocks in our no-code editor. The technical bar has been lowered so marketers can push copy, landing pages, and make swift changes. Congrats to Alan and team on the raise! Annnnnd that's five minutes!
